I always saw the lean, but you're the first I've seen that has explained it. Thank you for that. I run fox on everything myself too, MTB and Taco. These are siiiick.
Great job on the install! I know you’re not a mechanic by trade but you made it look easy. Keep the videos coming!
Nice! I just got the same shocks in the 2-3in lift. Thanks for making this video, very informative. 🤙🏼
This is very informative chloe I love learning more and more about trucks 🛻 keep up the awesome work I love watching your channel 💪🏾💯😎
Okay... It's official. I'm jealous of your new suspension system CK!! Can't wait to see it on the trails.
Hi Chloe I've been watching some of your videos and I must say you are pretty good, thank you for sharing all your mods.
Definitely killer upgrade 👌 😎 I must say you go gurl with these installs.
You do such a great job with your videos!! Glad I found You.
Ugh I’m super jealous of your elite set up. I was laughing when watching you install the rear shocks as in relieve they fought you just as much as they did me! I did the same trick, lots of lube and careful taps to not mark up the beautiful shocks.
I originally was going to go with bilsteins but they were on back order so spent the extra paper to get the Fox 2.0 shocks. I love them, didn’t get the coil over set up due to the fact I already had OME 888 springs but I got to say it’s impressive how well this truck rides on all conditions. Maybe in a few years I’ll make the upgrade but right now it’s perfect for me, after all I don’t even have 10k miles on my truck yet. 😁
Always like the upgrades on here
What kind of content do I want to see? This... where you install something, but not only show us how, but why you made the choice. I think the "why" is just as important as the "how to". Let's us other 3rd gen Tacoma owners decide if this is something we want/need or not. Makes great content IMHO.
love my 2.5 coilovers adjustable... fox for days 👊🏼💪🏼🏁🐺
Beautiful truck with those modifications I’m sure it feels better
What a None Shocker to see you get the Fox elites 😂 I think we shall call you Chloe Fox from now on, you do wear there badge well! Another great video, sooo glad you get to give these a try, and we get a great review. They look awesome on your Tacoma and I think you're going to Love The Ride!!
Awesome look. Thanks for sharing!!
Great job on the installation.
Looks good, great set-up.
Nice, I got these for my Gladiator and I love their performance. I waited a few months before I messed around with adjusting the shocks because it takes a while for them to settle.
Edit:
At first I thought they were too stiff (on the road)even on the softest settings but they will soften over time so your daily driving will be great too.
Nice video! keep them coming
Great video and as usual filled with all of the knowledge needed🙌🏾. What UCA’s are you using?
Great video! One topic that you can elaborate on is the alignment process regarding how to mark bolts etc.
I picked up the Fox PES as well, but in the 2”-3” lift version. Great video. So for your setup, we’re you able to maintain the height you wanted? I noticed you measured differently in this install compared to the install of your former setup, so I couldn’t compare directly. I look forward to more content on your experience with these shocks.
Quality videos Chloe, love my DSCs on my gx470. Great job including the torque specs and torquing.
Did the elites come with offset spacers for the front, Like the race series?
Awesome choice on lift setup. 👏 👍
I love it!
Great video…To be able to tune the shocks to your likings is excellent feature.
I had Ranchos air adjustable, you could adjust the 9 settings as you drove, just that it leaks so much. When it work “Awesome!
The future electronic control shocks setting from inside the cab!
It will change the Shock world!
Aloha
Why couldnt you say “ it will shock the world” .. it was right there
Great video. You could use a crows foot (like a open end wrench cut off with a square socket hole for you ratchet) to get to the LCA bolt you couldn't reach with the torque wrench. Did you gain any travel with this upgrade or is it more about the adjustability?
Nice! Still can't decide which suspension to go with. Gonna look into this fox performance elite.
That's awesome. I just got those a month ago.
Just to add, every single vehicle I've ever owned has leaned more on the driver's side, all vehicles do this because assuming the springs are the same tension, the heavier side will just lean more. That's one of the reasons why coil-over shocks were created, originally for the racing world, so you can adjust each corner to the exact height.
I’m gunna put these on my 23’ OR, using this video. I may have questions thanks for the content !!
Good choice and smart to stick with Fox shocks. They are a really good product.
The Toyota Tacoma is like the 'Barbi Doll' of trucks, as in there are SOooo many different cool and useful accessories that improve the performance and 'looks' of our beloved vehicles... My only limiting factor is of course having the 'Bankroll' to do it all...!!
Amazing video. Are these the same shocks that come on the TRD Pro?
Thanks for the review. I am interested in hearing more about the new shocks once you get them broken in and tested on the trails. The new features sound great but I am interested to hear how they perform in the real world.
The low speed compression settings make a noticeable difference in body roll. Its harder to tell with the HSC unless you're hitting the terrain hard consistently, and vary your vehicle's loadout considerably from outting to outting
although i am late, you buy 12v servos and buttons on the dash and wire them then hooking them up to the adjustment knob, then your taco will have raptor style shocks
Hell yea!
I don’t know what happened after the ad started; but I am now looking up this kit.
Very nice upgrade! Looking forward to seeing them working on the trail in your future videos. 👍
Hi Chloe. Did the ride hight end up being the same as the old suspension?
Nice! I have the BDS 6 inch lift kit. I love it. I wonder how kings feel.
Is an alignment needed? Also, very inspiring seeing you doing such a difficult job and making it seem so easy! Very impressive!
its definitely a good idea to get an alignment done after a suspension change, even if you think the ride height is going to be the same
Actually just looking at these for the front. Currently running OME HD and 5100 and fromt is fairly harsh (slim bumper and 10k winch mounted) rear is 5100s.and icon full rxt pack (leer shell + rrt + full steel bumper)
Badass!!
Awe I love 💕😘😘 Fox 🦊
I gotta say that looks pretty nifty..on hood!! 🖐
Could you briefly describe the on road ride? Is it more comfortable or the same as your old shocks? I have some on the way and trying to decide if I should keep ‘em quick😅
I just put these on my 2019 Tacoma. What suggestions do you have for initial settings and where to start? What clicks do you like for on road and which ones for when you’re in the desert? Thanks!
Hi! New here, do you just have aftermarket UCA with stock LCA? Thanks! Also rear leaf is stock or no? Thanks
Love the channel question have you ever experience engaging 4h up a steep hill and hearing a clunking sound when accelerating it also happened when I was in 2wd it stopped when I engaged 4l also truck is New with only 400 miles should I take this truck to the dealership and have it inspect almost sounded like gears slipping
Hey, I was wondering where you bought your shocks from and UCA? I plan on running and installing the same setup myself and appreciate the help. I’m SoCal local as well
Can you get a crows foot into the space for the pivot bolt on your lower control arm? The one you can't get to with a socket ?
"not sure is anyone buys shocks based on looks"----KINGS 😜
lol true story
It really is, I’ve been finding this in my investigation. Have a LC 100 and found most posts are mentioning looks. Wth
Accutune does a great breakdown/teardown of the difference between the shocks, In Chloe's case (using internal bypass fronts and 2.0 rears from them looks) it's an upgrade, but it seems for most guys with 2.5 DSC's it's not worth it, especially if you've already had the front springs replaced and revalved(like my setup).
They told me the opposite of what they said in their breakdown video when I called to order my new shocks. Add that to their shitty install of my original rear shocks which is why I needed new shocks in the first place and I'm not too happy with them.
Damn woman! You change your shocks more often than I change my shoes.
Good job take care
How long did the install take and What’s the offset of ur wheel and tire setup?
Hi. Have you installed the clamshell bushing in your Tacoma?
Chloe I may have missed something but you mentioned around the 2:10 point in the video that these shocks can be adjusted on the fly. Yet I don’t see how it’s possible without stopping and getting out.
I was expecting something like the Bilsteins on the Ram TRX. These shocks are electronically controlled, with solenoid-controlled variable rebound and compression bypass circuits.
You are correct on the definition of “adjust on the fly” but I think she just meant you don’t have to remove parts or need special tools. My MTB with Fox shocks has the same features, takes only seconds to adjust but I don’t do it while riding.
W👀W Nice you "re So Lucky 😬, To Get Sponsored By Fox SHOX , I Got the Race Race Series in 2012 Just Before the DSC Option ,was Advertised , I
Regarding that bolt by the skid plate. You might invest in some crows feet and then do the math for how much you reduce the torque OR keep the parts aligned at 90 degrees (no change in leverage) and you don’t need to offset adjust anything for torque.
Impressive for sure . Most people don't torque any bolts.
The 3rd Gen will only get you 2" of front lift, the 2nd Gen will get you 3" The elite's come with a 14" spring the older style comes with a 13" spring. Keeping 2-3" of downtravel in the shocks is really important. More lift = less downtravel. Get the extended version and upgrade your UCA as well.
Do you have a spacer or AAL on your leaf springs?
What are you planning on doing with the old rear shocks? I'd be interested if you were selling!
Have you had any issues where the swaybar hits the reservoir on the coilovers?
The Race series came with DSC also
👍👍👍
can you go over how to use the dsc on the 2.5 fox coilovers?
thx
Aloha Chloe from North County San Diego…
Who is your go to shop for tires, alignment and wheels in the San Diego county or SoCal area!
Mahalo in advance
Where did you get those upper control arms?
I have a 2020 trd sport DC 4x4 I want the full 3" front and rear I would like to fit a true 33" tire with no heavy trimming or rubbing. if I went for the full 3" option what other parts would be necessary upper control arms? lower? I have heard about a transfer case shim? and what about the bearing on the motor side of the front trans axle I have heard many people speak of? any thoughts or comments from people actually running a similar set up would be appreciated.
How's the clearance from the front spring to the swat bar bolt..can you send me a pic
What do T/A in tire stands for, Chloe?
What is the difference between the Elite with DSC and the normal DSC shocks?
a shocking end to the mystery
what are you doing with the old shocks?
would new rear shocks also help with payload capacity?
Installing these on my Tacoma today and I’m having issues with my sway bar rubbing my coil over. Any tips? Please help!
How are those compared to fox shocks on 21 trd pro?
ive noticed there was this guy had a tacoma with fox shocks and he his shocks on the rear had coils and resaviors
Are these better than the trd pro shocks?
What are you doing with the old shocks?
Are these better than the fox stock on a trd pro?
My truck 2018 bounces stuff when I hit high MPH
I already balanced my tires and still does it, what do you think it may be? I need help :(
What is the difference between the 2021 off-road and 2022 off-road that is don’t fit the 2022 are is it that fox website just has not been updated
Hello new to tacoma trucks need alift of 3” front and 2” rear with fox 2.5’s would these work on my 2019 trd sports?
Does it fit on land cruiser 79 series?
I think I'm in😍😘😂. 12-11-23
Dumb question. If you adjust the driver side pre-load doesn't that make them perform different on each side? Isn't the proper way to fix the lean a Shim on the top hat? Asking cause I'm new... thoughts? Good video! Thanks 👍🏻
Hi Joseph. I’m actually an engineer at Fox (although granted I’m on OEM production side of things) and wanted to answer your question and give a little bit of shock insight. Adjusting the pre-load on the spring (especially the very little amount that these shocks are set up with) has next to zero affect in the shock’s performance. The spring has a constant spring rate (I.e. 500 lbs/in) that doesn’t change with how much pre-load is put into it. The downside of pre-load is that if there is too much, you can get what is called spring bind which is when the coils start hitting each other at full compression. But with how little these springs are adjusted, you’ll never have to worry about that. Also, adding a spacer above the shock is by far the worst way to gain height or the account for lean since it messes with the motion ratios that the suspension is designed to have. Basically, by adding a spacer above the coilovers it causes the shock to bottom out before the suspension wants to, and the suspension tops out before the shock wants to.
@@joeyrainbolt0622 thank you, Joseph! This helps me a lot on setting my rig up!
Will this system fit on a 2022 4runner
Are you selling the old ones?
Hi Chloe, What is the best and most accurate torque wrench you have used? Your install videos are the best and well thought out, keep them coming!
As long as it has a certificate showing that it has been properly calibrated, that’s all that matters. I personally have Snap-on digital torque wrenches that I have calibrated once in a while to maintain proper torque measurement. But they’re not $30 like the part stores sell. Their $500+ but I use them mostly for engine repairs / rebuilds.
I have gearwrench
ruclips.net/video/shvXALVEzpw/видео.html
Donut Media literally just does a comparison on torque wrenches with some weird form of entertainment. 🤷🏻♂️
@@Sw20boosted this +1. also don't use them as a breaker bar, you can mess them up.
I don’t in general don’t buy Snap-on, but all three of my torque wrenches are Snap-on digitals. The other Snap-on product I buy are flush cuts. Amazingly HF torque wrenches are pretty good.
Got these same shocks. Had mine tuned from Accutune!! What leaf pack are you running?
How much does it cost to get it tuned by them? Is shipping back and forth extra?
@@joyoptimal6286 I got the shocks from them. Both front and rear with their u bolt flip kit. Total coast was $4,996.37
What kind of jack is that?
Did you have to leave that sway bar spacer from your old shocks on?
Yes, since the shocks are the same width
You should do a giveaway for the old ones 😉
why i see two different colors black and grey i like the black??
High speed/low speed doesn’t refer to the speed of the vehicle. It refers to the speed of the piston. You can drive 100mph and the piston barely moves or you can drive 20mph on super rough roads and the piston moves up and down a lot and fast.
If you take your sway bar off then you wont scratch them up too.
