Well, football can be a distraction for depressed people, it can help. Plus, suicide, as you might have gathered, is a relevant topic at the moment. And at least they're not making stupid jokes around a dead guy whom they've filmed only to make money out of it.

Try being an Arsenal fan it's so depressing, especially when you have Mustafi in your team. You'd expect a team with Arsenal's quality to comfortably qualify for Champions League, yet they are struggling to even win against teams like Everton and Crystal Palace. Unbelievable. They should be in third in the PL right now at least 4 points clear of 4th place!

It is necessary as depression is an issue. There are football fans who eventually commit suicide. This is especially problematic in East African countries where mostly Arsenal and Manchester United fans kill themselves over matches.

Yeah. I cant say much I'm a Scot and I support a small club called Cowdenbeath. In Season 2014-2015 we finished bottom in the Scottish Championship (Relegated). The season after that (2015-2016) we finished 9th in league one (Lost the relegation play off). In season 2016-2017 we then finished bottom of league 2 with a penalty shoot out we won in the league 2 play of to keep us in the league. We are now bottom of league 2 again and have a funny feeling we will drop out the league this time. Surely this has to be a depressing team to fallow?

Tony Harley Yeah. You keep up faith. I am worried about Cove they have had a great season and beet Spartans 4-0 in the first leg at home. I just hope they don't do that to us. I know we will go in favourites but so did East Stirling when they played Edinburgh City and we just stayed in the league last season by a penalty shoot out. You're got the right idea though always keep up hope. I really hope there is a good turn out against Cove because we need to win this. The players need the fans behind them. Even if they do go down into the lowland league i will still be there supporting our team. I'm sorry though mate can see us going down this year but we will have to wait and see how it goes.

Surely Stockport County is the winner? League cup semi finalists in 1997, 8th in the Championship in 1999, now playing in the conference north after going into administration twice and going through more managers than almost any other team. They were in administration for almost an entire season.

To the people seriously saying "ARSENAL DEFINETLY" Being arsenal fan is a luxury compared to the teams on this list. In the last 20 years you've literally not finished in the top 4 of the top division ONCE.... You've won the biggest domestic cup 3 out of the last 4 times. You lose one away game and you act like it's the end of the world and beg for a refund. You lose one home game and call for your manager to be sacked and club to be sold and riot.
Leyton orient lost 18 of their 23 home games last season yet their fans kept turning up and their last home game was sold out. Sunderland fans paid for a season ticket to see their team nearly go without a win for a whole year yet arsenal fans feel like they are entitled to refunds because they don't win the champions league/ lose to stoke or whatever bullshit they cry about.

To be honest, most of the clubs in the football league could be on the list.
So many clubs have either had over ambitious chairmen and tried to live beyond their means, or had crooks who have bled the club dry and sent them to bankruptcy (Darlington and Bury).
Even some of the rich bully boys at the top of the Premeirship have had hard times. It is not that long ago that Chelsea were skint and in the second division and Manchester City were in the third tier in the 1990s. People have short memories and money makes all the difference.
Leeds could certainly qualify with three of worst sets of owners in football history- bates and Harvey (criminals), Arab bank lot(can’t even remember there poxy name) and Cellini (coke crazed lunatic). Happy days hopefully around the corner😁

Leyton Orient... For me the opposite, first time (online) followed at Wembley play-off 2014 because my uncle was there... for him the first time since the 70's. His father, my grandfather was a huge Orient fan. He would never go again since the same last day as my uncle until his death. I was born and raised in Belgium and a huge fan of K. Lierse S.K. and follow them at least 25 times each season. I went in February 2017 for the first time to Brisbane Road against Cheltenham Town. My uncle also saw Orient for the first time in 3 years after Wembley... meanwhile, home and away, he saw with my aunt at least 50 games... Despite lost 0-1, they also had my sympathy. I have been following them online every week since then, and watched games against Colchester United and Tranmere Rovers. I never saw a victory, but the support remains. Now the 19th of may 2019, we are with 7 Lierse S.K. friends to support them to victory of the FA Trophy at Wembley... So the Duffel O's (name of our Township near Lier)... Are coming over 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Last season I'd of agreed with you about Coventry City, however this season I've only been extremely annoyed on the way home once. And I know our results aren't the best on paper. But remember, football isn't played on paper.

What did Sharks do? I always thought it was related to when County won the League 2 playoffs and splashed cash on players they couldn't afford in order to compete in League 1

At least a relegation gives you something to talk about. Once you're a stable mid-table club in England, you don't have the excitement of European football because the teams above you are too good and you're too good to go down, meaning you have nothing to talk about.

My dad used to be an avid Coventry supporter, he was at the fa Cup final in 1987. But ever since cov were relegated to league he barely even checks the scores from their matches. He was reluctant to watch the playoff final because he’s so used to failure by now.

West Brom are a yo-yo club. Promotion is nothing new to them. They're probably bored at the very least and I wouldn't blame them. Coventry City will be nonleague within the next 5-10 years.

Coventry have not been playing in Northampton for over a year now, we went their then because the owners were going through things with wasps and now we’re back at the Ricoh sharing the stadium with wasps! And you can’t say well I up loaded the video then” because I looked at the video 3 days after it was posted on the 13th of January 2018 we are looking at the moment to go up to league 1 the rest yeah that’s pretty depressing

That's why liverpool was a great football team.
How about getting promoted into, what is now, the Championship in 1991, failing in the Play Offs 3 times to get into the Premier League in sucessive seasons, having 11 years in that division and then 13 in League 1 before getting relegated twice in 2 years and ending up in the National League mainly because the owner spends 5 years cutting costs to a level that was always going to see us out of the Football League. 27 years without a promotion with only a defeat in a League Cup Final and another one in a National League Play off final to show for it and now stuck in a League full of Sugar Daddy clubs with no fans trying to buy their way into the Football League yet still getting average crowds of over 5 thousand and with an away following most League 2 clubs would be proud of. That, my friends, is Tranmere Rovers FC and why the Hell we are not on this list amazes me.

Never realized how passionate fans are even for lower tier clubs and when I mean passion I mean next level they live and breathe football it isn't the same here in the states although there are similarities it doesn't even come close.
As a Coventry City supporter, I concur with this view. Fast forward to season 2019/20 and, wow! We're having the best league season in living memory! (I'm 53)

As a Norwich city supporter I can remember the Coventry City team of the late Seventies I think you finished six a terrific team with that awful brown kit with Wallace up front let's hope things are on the up for the sky blues'. And we have often bought and sold some great players between the two clubs

We managed to stay up last year (just) but being a Bolton fan in recent years has been pretty awful. Things have changed in the last year or so, but ever since our 5-0 FA Cup drubbing to Stoke 5-0 in the FA Cup, it was really diabolical stuff. Still, we've just managed to buy a player with actual money for the first time in years, so that's something I guess.

You should look at Vasco da Gama (Brazil). They were once a gigantic club in Brazil, but were relegated 3 times in this century. Meanwhile, their biggest rival, Flamengo, is getting proportions never seen in Brazil before.

Yeah Arsenal. Must be real depressing winning cups regularly and getting to play against the best in the world year after year in the Champions League. A club that hasn't won the league in 14 years gets to play for the European Club Champions Cup nearly every year. Boo hoo, I'm so sad for you.

I can't believe that anyone after watching this video could even think about Arsenal. It's like a millionaire moaning to a homeless man that his wife has put horrible curtains up in the living room window. Really hard to feel any sympathy or empathy with Arsenal.
That's all true, but considering the size of their club and the money they have their results in the last 13+ years must be pretty depressing for their own fans. Pretty sure they'd swap all of those domestic cup trophies for just one premier league.
