Benfica 2012/13. Lost the League lead they had for months to Porto, with a 92' goal by Kelvin, that saw Jorge Jesus kneel in front of 50.000 Porto fans, Lost the Europa League final against Chelsea 4 days later, lost the actual league title in the last match day 4 days later, and the Portuguese cup final against Guimarães a week later.
Oh!! It WAS painful!!
Rangers1872 Oh boi that was great! All those tears born flowers of joy along us, FC Porto fans. Hahaha
Vitória SC* not Guimarães!! Sorry but Guimarães is not the name of the club but the name of the city, it would be like calling Arsenal or any other London based team London... witch is stupid...
As a Porto fan, that was the greatest collapse in my life :D My Benfica-fan friend to this day despises Jorge Jesus from dropping on his knees. Worse off, he went to watch the Europa League final in person. Never has he gone from such a high to such a low
Quantum PT you aren’t a Porto fan if you call them fc porto🤦♂️
The funny thing about Bayer is that Michael Ballack finished 2nd in EVERYTHING in that 01-02 season...went on to lose the World Cup Final with Germany as well.
Couldn't play in the final though.
And also lost UCL final to Real Madrid 2-1
Leverkusen wtf that's awfully sad. Imagine the fans
Rohan N very heartbreaking losing all 3 titles
It was worse for Ballack. he went on to star in the World cup in the summer scoring the winner in the semifinal as Germany reached the final of the world cup. However he was given a second yellow card in the semi final and missed the final. In total he missed out on the treble AND the world cup all in one season. AND he wears the number 13 shirt!!!
I can tell you, it still hurts. Especially because Leverkusen haven't got near to win something since... maybe this season the DFB Pokal could be ours
I was too young at that time, so I cannot tell how it felt, but being a Leverkusen supporter is not always easy. Nobody knows what would have happened if they had won three titles in 2002, but the chances of winning any trophy today are relatively low. Germany is dominated by Munich for years now and I honestly don't see that changing in a foreseeable time. So, finishing second or third in the league and making it to the national cup final is basically the best we as Leverkusen supporters could hope for, which is definitely not the same as seeing your team winning a title
Battist Oberhößel Let's hope we manage to beat Bremen on Thursday, after 2009 and 2016 I guess it's our turn.. hopefully 🙏
Arsenal 1989, last day of the season v liverpool
wrong category
So liverpool didn’t have a title
Collapse?
what you should say is liverpool in 1989, what you said is very misleading
Didn’t you know that according to many of this generation football didn’t exist before the advent of the premier league in 92/93? Sad isn’t it...
JammyMan II
I think Ajax's collapse in 2015-16 was the biggest collapse in the modern day of football. The Amsterdamers needed a win against confirmed relegation playoffs side De Graafschap to win the title, while PSV travelled to PEC Zwolle, who were in need of a win to qualify for the Europa League playoffs. It goes without saying that the Eindhoven club had a much more difficult match. PSV won 3-1, while Ajax shockingly drew 1-1, despite having the lead by halftime. De Graafschap ended up losing in the relegation/promotion playoffs, thus going down to the Eerste Divisie, but can forever hold in their memories that unlikely result against the almighty Ajax Amsterdam, bribing the Eredivisie trophy to PSV Eindhoven.
A treble of 2nd place finishings? That's something that not even Spurs could achieve.
That would bottle it before they could get to second
Celtic did that too in 2003. Lost the league by a goal, lost in the league cup final to Rangers IL and lost the UEFA Cup final to a 116th minute winner. Brutal.
River Plate 1976. Libertadores -Campeonato Metropolitano - Torneo Nacional
Cruzeiro 2009. Libertadores - Campeonato Mineiro and at the Brasileirão finished 4th with 4 point less of Flamengo the champion, wining only 1 match of the last seven and loosing by one or two points the qualification to the south-american competitions so I think is worst. At the south american championship loosed the final in their stadium 1-2 with they scoring the first goal.
That Aguero goal will never ever be repeated the circumstances, the rivalry and the way it happened, I was lucky to experience it.
Arsenal 89.
20 Times Man United your name just tells me you have no clue about football.
It's a random YT name i picked, it's irrelevant. Judging by your comment, you actually didn't know that Arsenal did what City did in 1989, shows how much you know about football.
Dan Bridgehouse You just embarrassed yourself mate
20 Times Man United Arsenal didn't do what City did.
1. Liverpool and Arsenal arent rivals
2. It was not a two goals in added time comeback
3. It wasn't even a tight game
P.s. I'm not saying that the 89 Arsenal win wasn't better because it was, but by no means were the the two situations similar. They were very different.
How did they leave out Schalke's 4 Minute Championship?! It is the most dramatic Collapse ever - definitively worse than Bayer Leverkusen...
Arsenal - 1997/98, 11 points down to Manchester United in March, Arsenal took the league title from Manchester United and won the FA Cup
That Overmars finish :)
Arsenal had a key injury in the season listed in the video and still we put on the list....
Arsenal were acutally 12 points behind but crucially they had three games in hand on United and having defeated United away that was crucial result so collapse harsh
Arsenal had three games in hand and it was 12 points
You cant make a list like this and not include benfica's 2012/13
André Moreira :'(
O golo do Kelvin...
André Moreira what happened to them
Sanchez Bashir Benfica wad ahead in the league (4 points I guess) and the team was hyped since it looked like they were going to win (including the fact that they were in the finals for the Portuguese Cup and Europa League). But after drawing against Estoril at home and losing to Porto, they lost the league. And it got worst since they lost the UEL to Chelsea and the Cup to Guimarães).
TLDR: Something similar to Leverkusen but with some notches down in comparison.
You have to feel for Leverkusen ...
Dhilax Rasaratnam tbh I really couldn't care less about it
Plastic club - nobody cares about them...
T B Historically meaningless! Haha in fact, FC Köln -- despite being their direct neighbors -- have like 5 rivalries they value higher. Just Imagine: leverkusen try to force the term Derby on FC Köln, but they wouldn't except it. hahahahahaha shows how meaningless Leverkusen is; how badly they want to establish an identity!
Liverpool - Arsenal -89 anyone??
Stevie Gerrard sends his regards lmao
so does aguero...
Even if he didn’t slip we still would’ve lost the title. Chelsea would’ve won 1-0 instead of 2-0.
@@euroball5335 second goal came very late as a counter attack I guess, anyways draw is not enough to win the league
Hearts 1986.......1st in the league from day 1, losing the title on the last day of the season with a 2-0 defeat at Dundee......
Then losing the cup final the following week......
Watford 2014-15 in the championship when they conceded last minute to Sheffield Wednesday to hand the title over to us Bournemouth including our first ever top flight promotion
Jesus Christ, that leverkusen one is extremely sad
Where's Norwich from 1992/93? Eight points clear at the top at Christmas, only managed 3rd. Still, at least they had Europe...
big up norwich. people forget we used to be decent
Jack Wright it's only 8 points
RAGERZ xX ViBe I know. Thing is we've got the self respect Ipswich don't, we don't need any stars, we just surprise people as underdogs. 😂
Jack Wright still had a minus goal diffrence
Jack Wright wba could have won the 54/55 season but the dingles took it after we had some injuries. We won the fa cup that season at least
Benfica 2012/2013. In 3 weeks lost the treble, starting by losing the 1st place in the Championship to FCPorto (92' minute defeat against them in the second last game of the season), on that same week lost to Chelsea in Europa League final and then 1 and 1/2 weeks later lost the portuguese cup final to Guimarães
My team Dundee FC winning the 1st division in 2013/14. Our nearest rivals Hamilton Acidemical needed to win by 8 goals and Dundee to draw to go up. Hamilton won 10-2 but Dundee held on to a 2-1 win after an amazing last minute save. Never been so nervous and to top it off it was a helicopter Saturday.
😂😂😂😂"Tears from Suarez, tears from the away bridge, tears all over Mersiside" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
One fucking slip...
Revenge is our middle name so watch out man City
@@brunodacruz5402 oh.
Tears all over Merseyside..... unless you're an Evertonian.
Sporting Lisbon 2015-16, after being 10 points clear they went out to lose the league by 2 points where them and Benfica both broke the points record
Benfica 2012-13 - Got to the last 4 games 5 points clear, EL final, and cup final, lost the league to a 92nd minute goal, lost the EL final to a 92nd Ivanovic header and the cup final to a 92nd minute Guimaraes goal
Bulgaria 2012-2013 season - Levski Sofia. A last minute win in the direct game vs Ludogorets put Levski in the lead with 2 points clear and a home game vs. Slavia Sofia remaining while Ludogorets had an away game against Montana (average team playing for nothing). Ludogorets won 3-0 while Levski needed just to score another win and claim the title. The final score was a 1-1 with an own goal equalizing the score and the title went to Ludogorets. Still hurts to this day and Levski Sofia hasn't won any silverware since 2009.
insomnia1914
Ludogorets?
Mesut Ozil
No one cares about tinpot leauges like Bulgaria
No one cares about your opinion either. Copa90 asked if your team has had any similar collapses like the ones mentioned and I gave my team as an example. Troll.
Schalke 2001 they thought that they had won the league for the first time in 45 years but then Bayern‘s scores in the extra time on an indirect free kick inside the box against Hamburg
schalke 2000/2001 ?
Das war so! lustig
Ikr. That was very similar to the United one in 2012
We didn’t collapse we barely missed out
Beastgaming FTW yeah, but they used collapse to make the title more interesting. Liverpool for example didn't collapse either.
Yeah But The 2009/10 Title Hopes For Schalke Collasped As Well
The Liverpool one wasn't really a collapse, they were never massively ahead
Neil Jennings the point is they shouldn't have lost it not just the slip but omfg 3 goals conceded to Crystal palace withen 10 minutes massive collapse
Had to beat Chelsea at home with 2 games left. It was straight forward
Brilliant vid👏
As Always, Arsenal Ranked at Number 4...
They haven’t finished 4th since 2013/14....
Let this meme die already.
They deserve to be
Oh, that Leverkusen one hits right in the feels. 😭
FC Schalke 04 in 2001 should be in this
David Sedlaczek The 30 second champions. Got to feel bad for them.
even as a bayern fan i feel a little bit bad for them but i'm born in 1998 so sadfully i can't remember this fantastic last day of the season for my club
David Sedlaczek was that the same year where 12th to 20th still could get relegated?
in the bundesliga we have only 18 teams but i know what u mean but i'm also not sure if it was back then in 2000/01
David Sedlaczek Yup I just realise it is 16th to 18th got relegated back then. Now it is 16th that earn a play off berth. A fan of the change?
that 2011/2012 season was unreal, none have been anywhere as interesting since then
When are derby days coming back and also if you do could you please do the holy war cracovia vs wistla
Gaming with David
They've already done one I think
Gaming with David

They could talk about in more detail
Schalke in 2001
They where the Champions for 4:38 min.
Bayern took it away
Bayern Munich 2011-12 wasn't a Title Collapse but more of Treble Horror like Bayer Leverkushen

Inter 01/02
Juve 99/00
Newcastle is cursed
you missed brighton 16-17 7 or 8 points clear with 3 games left and bottled it
Fenerbahçe, 2009-10 season in Turkish Super League. They thought they were champions because of a wrong announce. When fans learned the truth, they were so angry that they burned their own stadium.
Man U throwing it away has to be the biggest one!!!! Greatest day in premier league history
You could say Liverpool's title slipped away.
Old.
I think you should do a video about teams that were unable to fulfill their true potential, due to wars, disasters or bans. Everton were champions at the start of BOTH World Wars, and also at the start of the 5-year European ban on English clubs competing in Europe. Then there's the superb Man Utd and Torino teams who were killed in plane crashes. There must be more examples.
Helicopter Sunday still makes me happy
Oh the joy of being a Newcastle fan and having THAT be the campaign everyone remembers...
2008 will always hurt. We lost 3 games that season and 2 of those were against Chelsea and Man.United, both of whom barely finished above us that season. We really, really should've won the league that season. So, so painful.
There's one season where Schalke fans thought they already won the league and came to the pitch celebrating, only to find out that they were overtaken by Bayern that very same day. I can't recall which season that was, can anybody help?
La Volpe's Boca Juniors is an interesting case of title collapse. That final match against Estudiantes was crazy
This vid came out on my birthday👊🔥😏
Deportivo La Coruna threw it all away against Barcelona in 1994 by wasting a last minute penalty.
Ajax when they fucked it up against de graafschap😂
Schalke 2001 was the worst ever. Champions for 4 minutes, it was heartbreaking.
Ajax 2015/2016 bryan smeets scored the best goal ever scored to give psv the title in the eredivisie
Explain
You must add kashima antlers last season. :(
I know it was the championship but Brighton collapse in 16/17 season
Especially with David Stockdales interview
Last minute equaliser from Jack Grealish
13-14 season. The best season of all time. The amount of crazy moments is ridiculous
CriRo7 Na. There were so many mad moments
Do a video on Notts county
PSV's 2006/07 title. lost the lead after a draw at Utrecht and where 3th in the league behind Ajax and AZ, only 1 game left..
AZ played terible and lost 3-2. Ajax won 2-0, but PSV won his game with 5-1. Phillip cocu's late goal made PSV champion. What a day!:D
Damn Leverkusen... That's tough af
Unfortunately Benfica did it in 2013, losing the “already won title”, Europa league and taça portuguesa final
Heart of Midlothian 1986 Scottish Premier Division. Needed only 1 point to secure the title on the last day of the season. They were undefeated in the league since September. Lost to Dundee 2-0 thanks to two late goals from Albert Kidd.
My team, PSV Eindhoven, snatched the title away from favourites Ajax on the final day of the 2015-16 Eredivisie, because Ajax miraculously drew 1-1 at second-to-last-placed De Graafschap. I cannot even begin to describe how amazing that felt. The 2016 win wasn't half as crazy as the 2007 one though, when PSV came from 3rd place on the final matchday to edge leaders AZ and Ajax on goal difference after beating Vitesse 5-1.
Brighton 16/17 season. As a Brighton supporter I can vouch for the the disappointment felt by all who support the Albion. Promoted to the Premier League with 3 games left of the season to win the Championship title, but a 93’ minute equaliser from Aston Villa on the final game of the season denied us the title and gave it to Newcastle. That has to be one of the biggest promotion cock-ups along side United loosing it to City.
0:17 That man city fan who is like 8 is putting the middle finger up lmao.
bazil anwar i’m a man city fan and i was laughing my head off😂😂😂
I haven't looked but helicopter Sunday must be here, or should be. 🇬🇧
Had to skip 2, still too painful.

You *had* to bring up our 2001/02 season didn't you :( - I was kinda happy until we got to #7 haha, oh well, I guess it's real love ❤🖤
Danish Superliga 2002/03: Copenhagen Derby. 2. to last round of the season. Brøndby only needed a draw to win the title. FC Copenhagen needed to win. Enter stoppage time it was 0-0. The brøndby fans were celebrating the title. But then up stepped Hjalte Nørregaard. He scored his FIRST ever goal for FC Copenhagen to win the game. A massive collaps for brøndby.
Ouch Leverkusen that hurts
In that 2007-2008 season for Arsenal it was just as painful the way we got eliminated from the Champions League, conceding a penalty straight after we scored a winning equaliser 😩💔 that season was the most promising season since we last won the league
What about Hearts in '86? Lost the league with 7 minutes to go then cup the following week....as a Hibs fan always cheers me up :)
Hearts 1985-86. Leading for most of the season they only had to avoid defeat at Dundee on the last day to win their first title since 1960. They conceded two goals in the last 7 minutes and when Celtic won 5-0 they clinched the title on goals difference. To make things worse Aberdeen beat them 3-0 a week later in the Scottish Cup final. Heartbreaking stuff.
Hi youre The best football/soccer channel
Fenerbahçe 2005-2006, 2009-2010, lost the title and Cup to their rivals, 2011-2012 lost the title after a draw in home to their concurrent/rival on the last day. All this with 6 years.
Didn’t even watch the vid yet and I know damn well that my Liverpool are going to be up here .... probably 2-3 times 😪
Benny Boss i hope it doesnt happen this year😢
Guy behind this video's is the only reason m subscribed... 😁
For me ..it's 2003-2004.... Madrid lost 5games eventhough we had 8points lead in 28 matches...it hurts....
I completly miss Schalke 04 and their "Meisterschaft der Herzen". This was reallly painfull.
Brighton 2016/17 7 points clear with 3 games
I am happy that I did not have to see it again but our collapse 2000/2001 is probably the most dramatic one in football history.
Ah yes, AZ Alkmaar AND Ajax losing the title in 2007 due to poor results of their own and a 5-1 victory for PSV over Vitesse on the last matchday.
Serie A 2001 - 2002, Inter Milan and Roma was placed in 1st and 2nd, Juve was third, almost same point for three club. in the last game of deciding the league winner, Inter lost 4-2 Against lazio, Roma 2-2 Venezia, and Juve won the league 1-0 Against Hellas Verona
Serie A 2003-2004 a title race between Roma and Milan. Roma was champions in half season but in the last 5 games became inconsistent, eventually Milan Won the title in 2004.
Man Utd in 1991/92 was pretty bad. They had a fixture pile-up though, which really didn;t help them, and meant that Leeds won the last ever old Division One title
No 1998 Inter Milan Ronald by Juventus with Referee call? what a surprise!
Ajax and AZ in 06/07 when PSV dicked them both on the final play day and went from 3rd to champion.
as a Liverpool fan i thought our 2013/14 was bad until i saw Leverkusen losing a treble... like wow that was worse
Colombia 1993.
4 squads played for the title at the last matchday... between them.
Junior de Barranquilla Vs América de Cali
DIM Vs Atlético Nacional, Medellín Derby.
Junior needed to draw against America de Cali and that DIM doesn't win for being champion by goal difference +, or
"just" win and being champions by goal difference + in case DIM won.
América de Cali needed to win against Junior and a draw in Medellín.
Atlético Nacional needed to win and that Junior doesn't win.
and DIM, who was at the top of the table during almost all the championship, needed to win or draw and that Junior doesn't win.
Junior went received América de Cali at Barranquilla. At the end of the first half they were loosing by 1X0 while in Medellín there was a draw.
At the '60 and '75 they reverted the score but at the '80 they maked a penalty and drawed which was giving them the title by a few seconds until Carlos Castro of DIM scored. When DIM match was finished, they were celebrating the title without knowing there was alredy an additional time which was more than in their match and in those seconds of difference Carlos Valderrama and Osvaldo Mackenzie maked a great play against 5 defenders and score the goal of the title.
2.03 Tears all over Merseyside?. Can't see the Blue half being so sad about it.
Schalke once scored in the stoppage time in the last match if the season to seal the title as Bayern were drawing when they scored and they too were in stoppage time, until Bayern scored again to win the title
Please dont remind me about the 13/14 season Copa90
I was so young and wasn't even into sports, but I'll never let go of Arsenal's title collapse in 07-08. We really should've won the league that season, and we would've had Eduardo not been injured. We also most likely never would've lost Fabregas, Adebayor, and Van Persie. Winning the league that season would've made a statement that kids really can win. Arsenal that season were pretty reminiscent of AS Monaco in the 16-17 season (good thing Monaco won their league title).
I remember watching the Everton vs United game, after the match the presenters said that whoever won out of City and United would win the league
Crusaders 16/17. Nine points clear, with Linfield second. Loss. Loss.
Linfield.
Win. Win.
A fall from grace, now only two points ahead.
Linfield v Cliftonville at Solitude, a match that could go either way, however Cliftonville were favoured.
Crusaders v Glenavon at Seaview. There was no way the Cruz could lose this match.
Linfield go 1-0 up.
In the stand at Solitude, a man stands beside a radio, waiting.
The cheer that confused all Cliftonville fans and won Linfield the league. The man shouted “GLENAVON JUST SCORED!”
I went to the title celebration at Windsor. Won the Irish Cup, too
0:17 look at that kid 😎😑😶
São Paulo 20-21 lost the title after being 7 points ahead of the 2nd place already in the final stretch of the Brazilian championship
you have forgotten schalke in 2001. 4 minutes champion, then bayern scored in hamburg in the last second at the last matchday with a freekick inside the penalty area after hamburg's goalkeeper catched a back-pass from his own defender.
Ajax 14/15, a 1-1 draw in the final match against relegators De Graafschap and a PSV victory that same day made sure PSV snatched away the title on the final day
Dimitar Berbatov took part in two of those :) What luck...
A treble to 0? Damn
AZ Alkmaar in 2006-2007 season. They were top of the league on the final day of the season ahead of Ajax in 2nd and PSV in 3rd, all 3 teams on the same points and separated on goal difference. AZ were on their way to breaking the dominance of the "Big 3" of Dutch football till they suffered a shock defeat at relegation threatened Excelsior in the final game, playing with 10 men after 15 minutes in the game. Ajax won 0-2 at Willem II, and PSV beat Vitesse 5-1 so PSV and Ajax both finished on 75 points, but PSV become champions due to a better goal difference by just 1 goal (+50 for PSV, +49 for Ajax) to end one of the most exciting and closest title races in many years.
Understandably AZ were average and still in mourning the following season but finally did win the title in 2009 with LVG as manager
