    Not overrated nor underrated, his primary job is created chances, and if you don’t see how great he is at doing that you don’t understand football. Simple.

      it's terrible how harsh the media and pundits treat him, he does what he need to do and even scoring goals that rarely to be seen before he came to arsenal.

    • @mrbotan5416

      Thank you. He creates chances, that's it. It's up to the forwards to finish them. It's up to the forwards whether Ozil gets an assist or not.
      As others have mentioned, Ozil has created the same number of chances as De Bruyne (who is no doubt the best in the prem this season) in a lot less time than him. The difference is the players around Ozil and the players around De Bruyne. We are lacking in the finishing department, City are scoring for fun.
      I honestly think this group of Arsenal players have the capability to win the League. It's down to the manager, Wenger is past his best. Remember the days of Squillaci, Gervinho, Chamakh and Bendtner, he still got us into the champions league. Now he's struggling with this crop, who are much better.

    • @SW-jv4ji

      Mr Botan That De Bruyne/Ozil stat is the most pointless stat I've ever seen, if people understood the difference between the two, no one would have even dug that up or been surprised about it.

    What I don't get is Kevin De Bruyne who has been hyped up to be the front runner for PFA PotY has created 30 chances in the league this season. Özil has created 30 chances too. Kevin De Bruyne has played 993 minutes of football in the league this season. Özil has played 761 minutes yet created the same chances in a weaker side with lesser ability players. He's a scapegoat and gets singled out all the time unfairly.

      +Michi Reinhoffer That's actually not true at all. I used to think that Germany could do much better than Özil, and that he was overrated, but I've come to see that he really is an integral part of the team. He creates a ridiculous amount of chances - more than Toni Kroos, who is one of the world's best playmakers. Let's just say there's a reason that Löw doesn't drop Özil to the bench.

    If you're a wizard but your wand ain't working, you can know all the spells in the world and still contribute nothing. If you're a third rate knight with a rusty sword, you can still wield it as if your life depended on it. Ozil is a wizard. When the magic works, he saves the Kingdom. When it doesn't, the poor old knights take a beating. The wizard takes the blame, not the knights. The price of wizardry.

It's the price one pays for great talent:everyone expects it all the time.

      Because of shit managment and an unambitious board, that's why. If you saw Ozil against Everton and Swansea, he played 2 great games, because he was up front with Laca and Alexis, two great forwards, behind him everything was functioning as well. Against Man City, Wenger fucked up big time with his formation change, plus dropping Per and Laca for Coq and Iwobi, not to mention the ref fucking up too.

      Iwobi and wilshere show a lot of passion and hard work. Are the title winning metarial? No. Will big clubs bid for them? No. Is Sanchez a born winner? Yes. Will big clubs bid for him? Yes. If you chose passion over talent then you're welcome to bask in the mediocrity of 4th, 5th, 6th. And that goes with Ozil. I don't care how much work rate and passion Ozil shows or if he loves Arsenal. I only care about the number of chances he creates. So keeping both Ozil snd Sanchez is vital even if they aren't loyal to Arsenal.

    • @mrbotan5416

      This vid I think is about previous seasons when Sanchez was truly a workaholic. Second half of last season and this season he has been disappointing. Doesn't put a shift in, holds the ball for too long, tries to overcomplicate everything, so sad to see. I'd sell him in Jan, this season Ozil has been working much harder than him (at least from what I see).

      Sorry, but his numbers speak for him. It has nothing to do with propaganda. Ozil has been consistent in an average team.
      There are multiple ways to play football just because Ozil's style does not agree with yours or most vocal Arsenal fans , you cannot deny that he has produced.
      Stats like successful dribbles are lauded but football is about creating chances which Ozil has done consistently

    • @taosif9749
      @taosif9749 7 лет назад +1

      Timbone No no no. Listen.
      First of all, I am not an Arsenal Fan.
      Secondly believe me I have been watching Özil since the U21 Euros. I've seen all of his matches in the German dress and I do know very well what he can do. It's just the simple fact that his performances since the 2012 Euros have been shocking at times, good at best. He does not merit this title. Nor does he deserve a spot in the current line-up to be honest. In our offence he has been the weakest link for years.
      I don't know about him at Arsenal since I don't watch their games on a regular basis. I've seen the numbers and I have to agree with you. He is better than most Arsenal fans say he is. Howevern even there he keeps on disappearing in big and important matches.
      In conclusion I guess we can agree that he doesn't perform according to his seemingly endless potential. (Just like Arsenal as a whole)
      Maybe it's a matter of attitude.

    Personally, I think Wenger is to blame, mainly because of the lack of a strong defensive midfielder that would allow Ozil to perform his magic. This guy has no business doing any kind of defensive work. Arsenal's lack of such a player makes him look bad because Ozil cannot then play to his strengths; it's a bit like having a really good goalkeeper who gets exposed a lot because his center halves are rubbish.

      All champions defend with 11 guys. Even if it’s just keeping shape. Only Messi and Ronaldo don’t really get involved. There output justifies this!!

    Every Arsenal fan is to blame for this. Why? Because we are such pussys we couldn’t get Wenger out of the club. His treatment of Ozil allowing him to do whatever he wants, not replacing him when he plays bad, not having any other competition to allow him to fight for his place has made him into what he is today. An underachiever. Potential to be one of the best on the planet, ruined by a manager that stayed 10 years too long.

    Couldn’t agree more with this & I’ve often said it myself, Ozil is a luxury player. If you have a fast attacking squad Ozil is the perfect player to glue great players together & be that middle man to link up the play, he is not however a grafter who will battle for an average squad of players. Wenger really got it wrong signing him & not complimenting him with other world class talent or maybe Wenger believed our squad was already world class, in which case Ozil only goes to show how average we really are.

    I live in Bremen, Germany, where he started to become the great player that he is, and I hear very similar thoughts and takes on Özil here, too.
    Özil's game has never been about wasted motions. It always has been about his unique way to change the entire complexity of a game with a single moment of brilliance.
    Lesser people don't seem to get or like the idea of somebody simply being brighter and more more talented than anybody else and having to (on surface at least) work less because of it.

    I remember his first year at arsenal he was making all kinds of plays and perfect passes, but all the other players couldn’t keep up. One play i remember he took on a few defenders and he back heel passed but the pass just went off the side of the goal, that pass was for welbeck and at the end of the play the commentator said “oh what a beautiful play and welbeck just stood and watched, if only he would of followed that play”. The camera zoomed at ozil’s face and i could almost read his face expressions like: “really u just gonna stand there and watch me” Ozil is too good for that club and he knows it.

I personally really like him and in my opinion he was the most important german player in the national team from 2009-now. Yeah well of course maybe Schweinsteiger or Kroos had a bigger role as a leader but his passes just like kroos' are really good and often he is the one who plays the pass to the player that gives the assist.

    The reason why England - and most top 20 teams won't win the world cup in your lifetime - is luck. Tournament / cup football is mostly luck.

    • @schlotch
      @schlotch 6 лет назад +2

      Pffft, that’s inaccurate. Brazil won five world cups by luck? An African team has never won the World Cup because they’re unlucky then? Mate, what you’re saying is a bit silly. Of course there’s a fat slice of luck but time and time again we find the same teams, with the best players who play in the strongest leagues at the business end of the World Cup. Facts. You don’t win he World Cup because you’re lucky, you win because you’re one of the best.

    • @jasonsender6568
      @jasonsender6568 6 лет назад

      Its not entirely untrue though is it? Skill is the main factor, but luck is still extremely important. Just look at our world cup draw, luck got us a long way. You end with "you win because you're one of the best", but if no luck were involved, the this would just be "the best".

    • @schlotch
      @schlotch 6 лет назад

      yeah, i agree there is an element of luck. i did say "of course there's a flat slice of luck" but the OP said it was "mostly luck" in reference to England's lack of a world cup since '66. I couldn't let that stand unchallenged! i guess you could say the best teams are also those that ride their luck.
