Thank you for this easy cat tutorial! It's amazing with how little effort you can paint a very lovely cat! The proportions are not off! It just has very fluffy fur!
Beautiful. My little fat cat says that a big body and a tiny head, is the perfect shape for cats!
Love this technique! its beautiful, also some cats do have small heads :-) Well explained and demonstrated thank you so much X
Aww what a precious kitty looks just like my sweet void Noche 😊.
😊
1st cat I ever painted! Like you said, it takes alot of practice! But the instructions were clear and it was fun!
That's great! Glad you tried it!
Lovely cat! His small face means he must be a Norwegian Forest Cat; has a small triangular face, big fluffy coat and mane ruff just as you have rendered.😊
Those are gorgeous cats!
Love it! A great tutorial especially the last minute! I volunteer at a shelter and it would be fun to whip these up when cats go home!
What a fun idea!
I love this! And, for the record, my youngest cat has a tiny head with a fluffy body and this looks a lot like how she does.
Aw yay! Makes me feel better. 😁
This is something I need to make myself sit down and practice. I first picked up watercolors in 2016, but I do it so infrequently that I'm still very much a beginner. And one of my biggest hangups is perfectionism, and the need for literally anything I do to be a finished piece. The idea of splitting up a piece of paper and just making blobs feels like such a waste to my uptight brain...and yet I watch stuff like this and recognize that it's 100% necessary to practice techniques! So you're all my witnesses, now. I'm going to practice making fuzzy blobs to perfect this technique!
Sometimes we need someone to just give us “permission” to just play and practice! Funny as that is! Glad you saw some meaningful tips in this video. Keep at it!
I love that cat. Love the fur. Body isn’t too big. I know cats like that.
I like him, he just has alot of fur that makes him look big. Enjoyed this so much, thank you!
🙌
This is incredible! I didn't know that was the technique to get a cat's fuzzy texture.
Glad you enjoyed!
Emily - so great all of your experimentation and various techniques put into action.
To see an "oops" now and again, whether in action or after-the-fact means a lot.
Your talent and skills always illuminate and, as previously noted, encourage.
Thank you.
Thank you Emily 💜
I have a lovely Himalayan who is 14 and I have wanted to paint her for a long time.
Your Tawny cat video and this one has given me ideas how to do it.
Due to a hand injury and loss of fine motor skills, 20 years ago... I haven't did any Art.
I've never really did watercolor, but I am trying.
Thanks again.
I’m so glad you feel encouraged to try! So much joy in painting, regardless of the outcome. ❤️
What a fun technique, thank you Emily.
Glad you liked it!
I'm just now seeing this and I love it! You made this look like so much fun. Even if I have to practice, it still will be a fun time. Thank you for sharing your skills so freely.
Thank you Emily, this is brilliant, thank you for simplifying this easy to follow tutorial
My pleasure!
My first attempt was a disaster, but second time turned out nicely. I found a very small spray bottle helped for edges that needed a bit more water, helping the paint to spread more evenly in places that were drying more quickly than the rest. Love this tutorial for teaching me to work wet on wet better.
I’m so glad you tried! Sometimes a second go really is the key. Thanks so much for your comment!
@@EmilyOlsonArt Ironically, my first gos, when l expect little, are often better than the subsequent ones. The curse of perfectionism, perhaps. I also had trouble
with the eyes, and actually feel that this does require drawing skills. You may be underrating yours.
Спасибо дорогая Эмили за чудесный урок!
I love his cat 🐈 ❤
Great 👍
Thankx, so cute!!!
Beautiful, it looks so real!❤
Thank you! 😊
the wet on wet techniques works so well to create a fluffy edge 😀
This is great practice for wet on wet! My first try, I think I wet my paper a little too much, and my cat looks like it was electrocuted because the lines of paint extend so far! 😂
Great job!
Very cute. Next time you do this, use Daniel Smiths Lamp Black. It furs out even more.
Thank you. Great fun demo❤️
Love this.
This was really interesting and helpful! Thank you!!!
You're so welcome!
I've never tried to paint~ you make it look easy~ thanks!
Love this. It looks like my cat Brian
Oh cool!
I love your fluffy cat, I will try it out!
This is fun!! 😊
So fun thanks!
Love it, thank you for your tutorial.
Thanks for watching!
you make look so easy. ❤
Wow, that was amazing, thank you!

My pleasure!
Wonderful! I can't wait to try!🤗 Thank you
😊😊😊
Wow I need to try it right now
Спасибо за творчество!!Чудесный рисунок!!
Thanks for showing the bad picture so I can relate!
😁
I love black cats, this looks amazing and was so quick. I will have to try this one, I'm sure they will look like the messed up one but it will be fun trying.
Can’t hurt to try, right? 🙂💕
Yes this is easy I love that 😻 meow meow nice drawing ✍️
Thank you so much 😀
❤
Excellent!!
Thank you!❤
You're welcome 😊
Love this! You make it seem so easy!
Thank you, Jastia!
This should be fun to practice, love your nail colour 🤗♥️
Thank you!
Man, that was frustrating. It looked so much easier than it was... It took me three rounds to not mess it up completely.
I'm sorry it was frustrating! Here is a video that is helpful for the "dos and don'ts" of this technique: ruclips.net/video/WKyY4P_xOtA/видео.html
You succeeded! Very encouraging to others who give something a try. If it takes two tries or twenty just do it.
I still can’t seem to get it done right.
Thanks for the tutorial! Can’t wait to make some fuzzy kitties 😁
🙌
Good tips!
Thank U it's lovely
Most welcome 😊
Nice!
Adorei Emily, tenho duas gatos pretos
Thank you so much for this. I have a black cat I’ve tried to paint, but I didn’t know wet on wet was the way to make her fuzzy. I can’t wait to try doing it your way!
🙌
Thanks, I have 5 fat cats so can't wait to try this. 😄👍💛
And btw I love your cat.
Perfect! 🙌
Thank you for this tutorial. It was fun, but my cat turned out to look more like one of those medieval manuscript cats than it should've. 😅
ammazing
Had two black cats with Green eyes.
Do not have very good photos of them.
May try this. Thank you!
Nice job on that. Makes me want to draw a caption or thought balloon for this feline that says "I'm curvy ... and I like it" (a line once spoken by Joey on "Friends").
🤣🤣🤣
Thanks! Have to try! You missed the shape of the nose and head already there -the head would have been bigger. Else very nice!
This is so cool! Will this same technique work for a white cat?
Yes--you would need to negative paint some background color AROUND the shape of the cat.
I once had a cat whose head was anatomically to small. Blossom, have to say while sweet she wasn't to bright, always missing the litter box
I have a ragdoll with stripe markings. Trying to figure out how I can do a portrait of him with this technique...
Nice, I think his face shape was already there just before you put his face on. The eye at the top bump and nose where you had taken paint off. His head would not have been turned as much though, more of a side view.
Really nice-love the furry look! What tool did you use to dry it, Emily?
Just a Sizzix heat tool from Amazon.
Bonjour, quelle marque de peinture utilisez vous ?
Please draw portrait of alan Walker 😊☺️
Please can you tell me where you purchased your drier 🐱
It’s just from Amazon!
He just has fluffy bones 😂
🤣
impressed but didn't work for me and I used cotton paper
