Well.... a coil spring compressor definitely helps, but you could also loosen all the bolts on the control arms too. You need the jack right under the front pumpkin to keep pressure on it but once you pull the shocks and detach the sway bar, you just let the jack down slowly and both sides will pop out at once. You'll need the front end fairly high with the jack stands though but re-installing the new taller springs is a breeze also. Usually you can just wiggle them in without a spring compressor. Just make sure to re-torque the control arm bolts while the vehicle is on the ground and on it's own weight otherwise you will destroy the bushings in no time.
Yea that’s another way to do it! I didn’t want to take of the control arms as I will be installing long arms soon and didn’t want to take them off twice 🤷♂️
Look at that lift! It looks like it turned out great man! Glad it drives well with it too, and you had no issues with Death Wobble or anything. Congrats and keep it up!
Yea I have to adjust my track bar to line up the axles again because I do feel a wobble and also I’ll need to adjust caster angle when I install the long arms and hopefully that should get everything straight! I’ve replaced pretty much every bushing and joint in the front end even the gear box
If you don't already have an adjustable track bar, now would be a good time to put one on. Without it the front axle could be pulled too far off center from the rear.
I know this is getting old but for anyone wondering about numbers on a tap or bolt, the 1/2-20 is referring to the diameter of bolt as half inch and 20 threads per inch. There are generally just two thread counts per each diameter bolt. The fine thread will of course be more threads per inch.
What are the spring length on the vehicle after you drive it on level ground.. I am going to springs on an overland with spacers, currently on 2-3/4 and 12 inch springs front and 2 inch rear on a ten inch stock spring , probably going to a 2.5 lift because of the v-8 which weighs less but squats the front springs more, any help guys?
Looks good, Id like to hear how you think it rides before/after the long arm kit install. Ive heard it makes a huge difference. If you could share what you think Id appreciate it.
I have a long arm 4 inch lift with 33 inch ×12.50 R17 but I put track bars new drive shafts axtra shocks and a Perfect Alignment and I don't have any Death Wobble and it's as good as it was oringal and I think even better with the lift done correctly.
@@kelvinstrickland7442 Yeah Ive heard its worth the extra money. I'm just going to go with a 2.5" spring lift on my WJ. Trying to stay budget friendly haha.
@@tylerdubois9020 Even with the 2 1/2 Budget lift you will see a huge difference and can add as you go. Good Luck And Have Fun Because That's What It's All About. Happy Trails From Niagara Falls Ontario Canada.
@@kelvinstrickland7442 Thanks Man, I just installed Aussie Locker in the rear and NO Slip in the front after doing my 247 to 242HD T/C conversion. Running 30" tires so I think a 2.5" lift will look good.
Do you have to do anything else to the suspension to go along with the springs and shocks ? Meaning could I go from stock suspension and jus get by with the 4” springs and shocks ?
Now with that being said,, I don’t plan on off roading or anything like that lol,, I jus wanna have like a clean street set up and be able to clear 20x12 or 22x12 with 33in tires ?
So, with everything done in this video, as shown, there are no problems with the drive shaft length? I want to keep mine without going down a rabbit hole of additional parts just to make this work. Thanks for the videos, Najar. I hope to hear from you!! Or someone from the comments section.😉
I may have missed this in old videos but, are you running a Slip Yoke Eliminator? I have an XJ, was thinking of getting a WJ due to the rear coils (ZJ's are getting old and tired haha). But I was curious if WJ's need an SYE and all the same jazz previous Jeeps needed
@@NajarOffroad cool thanks I am fixing to be lifting mine and wasn't sure how to do the bump stops. on my 99 Isuzu trooper I just had to put some spacers underneath them but this is my first Cherokee WJ
@@NajarOffroad So I’ve got a question. Is piecing it all together the better way to go ? Or is it better to just buy a full kit from one manufacturer? I ask because I’ve been saving up for awhile and am trying to decide which way to go with my build.
Did you have to replace control arms or track bar? I have a budget boost 2.5”f 2”r on my wj and I need to replace the track bar and control arms cause I get rattling noise and death wobble. But I see you replaced the pucks with the coil springs, any other things that you have to work on along with the springs for stability?
I already have a trailforged trac bar. And I’m adding long arms. Make sure your wheels are balanced and all your joints and bushings in the front end are solid and not old
@@NajarOffroad I was thinking that I should just replace the track bar and install an adjustable one, the control arms and bushings and stuff. I fear my axles might break at one point in time or something lol. My next purchase will be the adjustable track bar and control arms, then some bigger coil springs and new shocks
Some Jeeps have the gear ratio printed on the diff cover. Just curious to see if the 4.0L will become a dog with taller tires and stock 3:55 gears. The jeep looks great! Thx
Yea I’ll let you know when I get bigger tires and if I have to change the gears out then I want to learn how to do it myself! Would be a good learning experience

I recommend just getting a "V8 LIMITED" Axle. Its got a 3:73 axle and limited slip lockers. Its less than $200 on the yards here in vegas..
If you trim your fenders you can run up to 35's but I would recommend going with 33's until you build up your axles.
Yea I’m thinking 33s or 32s

I dont want to sound like a smartass but using wd40 on rubber parts will dry them out. Use silicon spray grease on rubber. Great build.

We replaced them in a future video. I have Disconnects up front and longer in the rear. But I did end up just removing the rear completely
