@23:10 A truly historic moment. This is the only time that we will ever see Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, and Bruce Willis blowing the bad guys away together onscreen.
For those too young enough to know or remember Sly, Arnold and Bruce were the 3 original movie stars involved with the Planet Hollywood restaurant chain back in 1991. They would show up at grand openings and other special events at the restaurants. So the 3 of them together in Expendables was a treat, but them actually side by side taking down bad guys in this film was a meal.
This is where the franchise peaked. I liked the first one well enough and I think the third is better than many give it credit for... but _Expendables 2_ is the one where they did most with the premise of bringing as many 80s/90s Action Heroes as possible on the big screen. The scene where Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Willis start blasting is just... *chefs kiss* _perfection._
FUN FACT: the idea of Gunner leaving MIT to be a bouncer and later dating a singer? Its based on the true story of Hans "Dolph" Lundgreen who ACTUALLY has both a Bacheleors & a Masters in Chemical Enginnering, and had a sidejob as both a bouncer & a bodyguard before getting into acting.
I saw this in the theater. When chuck Norris Walked onto the scene, there were screams, there were cries and a few people actually got out of their seats and bowed on one knee.
To me it was crazy seeing Jean-Claude as the Villain & Chuck Norris pops up outta nowhere that was something + the ending was dope great movie & great reaction.
Scott Adkins, Van Damme's right hand in this movies, is an incredible actor/stuntman. He was the Proto-Deadpool in X Men Origins: Wolverine, he fought Dr. Strange as an astral projection in Dr. Strange, and he's been in many straight-to-streaming movies.
The best of this series. It's everything you could want, cheesy one-liners, over the top action and the '80s stars get a good amount to do what they want. Also, I definitely think you guys will enjoy "The Expendables 3" and looking forward to your reaction to it!
Jet Li never shot the opening scene with the full cast. They used a stand in, as he refused to leave China. Once the film was wrapped, Dolph and Terry went to China, where they filmed a few days of inserts with Jet Li to put in the opening sequence.
best of the franchise , van damme as the villian , chuck norris makin his own jokes , bruce wills , stallone and arnold blastin everybody in final act , statham vs adkins
The great thing about Expendables 3 is the villain in that story, he’s also a legend as well. I enjoyed E 2 the best, but I liked the villain in E 3 the best. Van Damme and Atkins were good but the villain in 3 trumps them both in my opinion. I think you both might appreciate E 3 because of the villain too.
I think the most underrated detail in this movie is the ammount of times they run out of ammo lol 😂. It's almost guaranteed that barney will run out of bullets before lee runs out of knives l
“Rumour has it your dead” “Yeah I heard that rumour too” “I’ll be back” “You’ve been back enough, I’ll be back!” “Yippie Ki Yay” 😂😂😂😂 this movie had the best lines Also when Arnold rips the door off and Booker shoots the dude through the X-ray 😂😂😂
*This* was the movie I expected when I saw the first Expendables, with all these actors both reliving and parodying their other action roles. The first one is still good & all, but every time I watch it I feel like it could've been better. Like this is.
Reminder: If you guys watch the third movie, they removed the blood and gore for PG13 and even Stallone has come out and said that it was a huge mistake. It has a lot of fun new actors like Banderas and Wesley Snipes, especially Banderas steals the movie. Other than that, it's decent. Not amazing, just decent. Also, Jet Li wasn't much in the movie because he's been having some health problems.
Just the best in the series and a fantastic action film. All the one liners and interactions are amazing. And I just love the auto shotgun Arnold carries throughout the film.
The highest grossing installment of the trilogy. The closest to the original concept as an 'old school' action feature. It just takes more and more of what we love about films like this. Everything was considered to make this epic and EX2 succeeded in making a lot of room for everyone. Almost ever action star we know of is right here. Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Willis alone complete the epicness. This was the 2nd American film for HK actress Yu Nan (Maggie). Originally they wanted Michelle Yeoh as the first female Expendable and I heard that she recommended this actress for the role instead. EX2 was directed by Simon West, who helmed Con-Air (1997), Lara Croft:Tomb Raider(2001) and the 2011 remake of The Mechanic with Jason Statham. On a somber note, EX2 is dedicated to Sly Stallone's first born child and only son, Sage. Co-starred with his dad in Rocky V (1990) and Daylight (1996). Passed away about a month before the film's release.
@@rambo122222 I didn't know he had 2 boys. I had only knew about Sage. It feels like his younger brother, Seargeoh is rarely mentioned just because the untimely death.

I like how they use Dolph real life story in this this movie was amazing especially when I went to see it in theaters OMG love the video octokrool stay motivated Dream big 1 mill on the way
7:40 that’s true about Dolph Lundgren. He graduated from the University of Sydney in 1982 with a masters degree in chemical engineering. 18:59 Stallone asked Norris to include one of the Chuck Norris Facts. Chuck’s wife suggested he do the cobra one. Also they reference one of his other roles during this scene. They said that he was a “lone wolf”. He was in a movie called “Lone Wolf Mcquade” where he played a character called J.J. McQuade. 29:02 yeah see I didn’t like the fact they cast Liam Hemsworth. The movies were supposed to be for the older action stars to breathe new life in the careers. The young guys still have their life ahead of them to build a career.
@patrick-sith yeah I think so too. Kinda like “look you young guys can’t hang with us” “we know how to protect ourselves”. It looks like the fourth one they’re bringing some young ones in the next one.
Hilarious reaction, I agree needed more JCVD & Scott Adkins. For Statham The Mechanic 1 & 2, Scott Adkins Undisputed 2-4 Ninja Shadow Of A Tear, Savage Dog, Seized.
Noice~! Expendables 2 is among my favorites. I'm so glad ya'll were able to get to it so soon after the first. The number of cameos in this one was just off the charts. And the one-liners? Oh, sweet baby Jesus the one-liners! They were golden! Ditto for the action. Everything that made the first movie work was just cranked up to 11. "Go big, or go home" indeed. So yeah, definitely better than the first. Oh~! When you get to the 3rd movie, use the unrated version. Until then, take care and have a good one~! P.S. Also, when you can, I do HIGHLY recommend "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)", "Broken Arrow (1996)", "Assassins (1995)", and "Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins (1985)" for ya'll to react to. Believe me, you won't be disappointed. 😉👍
I've never had a theatre going experience as epic as I had when I saw this movie on opening night. Roaring laughter at the one-liners and cheering at the catchphrases, it was pandemonium. It's unfortunate that they never got any of the Expendables movies all the way right but this is the best of the bunch. Especially considering that unlike with superheroes for instance where the roles can be endlessly recast and the movies endlessly remade, these guys are done and this assembly can never happen again. To think had they done it perfectly (and preferably some years earlier), it would have been my ultimate dream movie. Instead they quickly did stuff like the Statham v Adkins fight but spent 2 days shooting a cameo with Novak Djokovic that got cut out of the movie, incompetence of the highest order.

Can't believe no one has suggested the Missing in Action movies with Chuck Norris, it is his only action movie franchise after all. Too bad CN distanced himself from his old movies which is why him showing up in E2 was such a treat. If you noticed it showed the violence then showed Chuck behind a gun. They had to tone down the violence for his scenes or he wouldn't do the movie.

fun fact: Dolph Lundgren actually has a masters degree in chemical engineering from MIT
Yes! 😊
Dolph Lundgren is actually a genius.
The story in the start is literally his origin story being a bouncer meeting Grace Jones etcetera
Not only that, but he's also a member of Mensa since he's got an IQ of like 160.
That dude is freaking smart as hell!! And he is not Russian lol

my friend cheered so hard she got the rest of the audience laughing at her in addition to cheering for Chuck Norris. This movie is so much fun.

18:57 - 19:02 His last name must be Riker, because his great, great grand nephew said the same thing on his near death bed.
this films was good for all the main action stars in this ie: van damme, chuck, arnie, bruce and so forth, can you do a reaction to stallone's best ever film called cliffhanger it's the film which made stallone a come back star after doing so many bad films and also you would like the villain in that as well
Think this is the first time Van Dam didn’t to the splits lol
