Fun fact about the movie, Arnold was still governor of California at the time it was filmed so they had to do his cameo thing in the middle of the night and 'off the clock' so to speak in order to not end up accused of taking bribes, or so the story goes anyway.
Govahrnaetohr!
Govahrnaetohr auf zhe Staet auf Kalefoynia!
....and he'll be BAHKK!
guys, please don't watch the expendables 2, you'll go blind from exposure to pure unfiltered awesomeness
You’ll be crying tears of pure testosterone by the end
Genius!
You know they will.
Ya I think 2 is better
They’ll gain five pounds of raw muscle just for watching it.
As someone who grew up watching Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, and Arnold Schwarzenegger films, seeing all 3 guys in one movie scene being just the coolest guys around really made me feel an ultimate form of happiness I never thought I’d ever feel! PLEASE watch the 2nd film!!!
My favorite description of this series is from a review of the third film: "If you missed the first two and need to catch up, they're mercenaries. That's literally it."
Sly broke his neck when Austin speared him into the wall. Kept filming. Dudes a legend
I knew it you guys would love that Jason Statham scene 😂😂😂
Finally you've entered an action movie lover's dream come true in the making since the 1990s.
One of the hardest films that Stallone has ever made as an action star and filmmaker.
Right after Rocky Balboa (2006) and Rambo 4 (2008).
The cast, chemistry, filmmaking and action sequences are superb.
So many homages to the action genre.
If you can spot them out, you know what they mean.
The 2 sequels (2012 and 2014) are just as dope.
Expendables 4 at the end of summer 2023 looks pretty good.
If you watching them all, strap on tight.
Watch out for the debris and shrapnel.
The fact that it took them til 3 to bring in [*************] is nothing short of baffling
With all the great classic movies you guys have watched so far, you can imagine and appreciate how long anyone growing up watching 80s and 90s action movies had been dreaming about finally seeing Sly, Arni and Bruce sharing a scene in the same movie.
The same as wanting DeNiro, Pacino, and Pesci in the same scene.
Hi guys! Great reaction! Another great and smart action movie I highly recommend reacting to is "RED" from 2010 starring Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and the great Dame Helen Mirren (who steals the film). It's a lot of fun and very enjoyable and I know you guys would love it.
RED *and* RED 2. The sequel is even more awesome than the first. Definitely, watch them both.
I am very surprised that these aren't recommended and reacted to more. They aren't as gory, but they are great to watch. The action is very easy to watch, and it is pretty much maintained throughout both films.
Yes! Being someone born in the early 80's, i grew up on these action stars! Needles to say, i LOVE the Red and the Expendables movies! These are awesome and seasoned action stars doing what they do best!❤
If you want the action movie that put Jason Statham on the map, check out The Transporter. So damn good.
He is awesome in Dungeon Siege as The Farmer!
@@Fallopia5150 omg I’d forgotten about that one. Uwe Boll should be forbidden to make movies lol
He is almost all good in his action movies but my personal favorite is Wrath of Man.
And crank
@@epicsshadesmaster-animatio4398"Crank" was great action fun! Personally I think Statham is at his best when he's martial-arting in "The Transporter" franchise. I think he is one of the better actors as far as martial arts actors go
The Expendables 2 (2012) is amazing.
3 was alright IMO
Very special.
It feels like an action film from an older era.
Which is even more closer to the original concept.
Also it's dedicated to Sly's son, Sage.
The manliest man movie ever made. If action and adventure had a baby, this is the outcome.
I saw this at thr movie theater and the Terry Crews shotgun scene was so loud it drowned out everyone's yelling. It was totally awesome. My eye was as big as saucers and I had the biggest smile on my face afterwards. I was a little kid again after watching this movie.
Great reaction bros.
i like the line bad guy says about 'you should see my family', especially considering who some of his family are, julia roberts is his sister and emma roberts is his daughter.
Dolph Lundgren plays such a great dumb brute. But I bet he's the only one on the cast with a Master's Degree in chemical engineering lol
They actually bring up that he has a masters degree in the next one he makes a bomb in the cave
Expendables is the avengers of our action heroes, I love it. Just discovered your channel and subbed, love the energy in your videos. Keep crushing it boys!
OktoKrool: "We need a bad guy that can fight!"
Expendables 2: Hi👋
The Expendables is a tribute 80s and 90s action movies. I hope y'all watch the sequel well.
Sad they seem not to know Eric Roberts and Ludgren. They need to watch some of their earlier stuff.
@@ruvik1256 Love Lundgren, sadly i only know Roberts for his later work.
@@MrDp115maybe i‘m wrong but they seem not to know jet li too and this is even sader and worse😬🫣 i don‘t know how they missed all his work
Great reaction you guys! Keep it up! I hope ya'll react to The Expendables 2. You guys are going to love it
JCVD as the villain is insane. Love that movie.
Not to mention the side by side machine gun team up that every action movie fan had wanted to see for decades.
I always loved the fact that Dolph Lungren is an actual scientist. With no less than a Bachelor's of science and master's of science.
Terry Crews blows everybody away and says Remember this at Christmas. 😂😂😂😂
Rumour has it that in the making of the fight scene between stone cold and Stallone, Sly told Steve to hit him with everything (the huge tackle) and Steve hit Sly with so much force that he broke multiple ribs and nearly broke his neck.
One things for sure though Stallone is a genuine badass who’s willing to go above and beyond to produce a great product for his audiences.
You guys should watch “The transporter” with Jason Statham kicks ass in sequel but u guys should definitely check out Jet Li films especially “Romeo must die”
Transporter 1+2 (as 3 was total krap)
------
other good Jet Li films:
(I've always loved Jet Li's hardcore intense direct combat martial arts, compared to Jackie Chan's comedy martial arts, regardless of how skilled jackie chan is or isn't at martial arts, lol)
(this was way before Tony Jaa would enter the scene, having the same similar intensity/combat of martial arts as Jet Li, no comedy, just "business"... of kicking @$$)
1. Kiss of the Dragon
2. The One (the "modern"/sci-fi "highlander" movie)
3. Iron Monkey (2002, remake) (Jet Li, Donnie Yen, and others)
4. Legend of the Red Dragon / The New Legend of Shaolin (2001, dvd remake) (Jet Li and others)
-------
good martial art movies:
1. Kiss of the Dragon (Jet Li)
2. The One (Jet Li, and a very minor sidekick character in it: Jason Statham, lol, no sarcasm at all, totally meant it fully)
3. Iron Monkey (2002, remake) (Jet Li, Donnie Yen, and others)
4. Legend of the Red Dragon / The New Legend of Shaolin (2001, dvd remake) (Jet Li and others)
5. Undisputed 2-4 (Scott Adkins, and Michael Jai White but he's only in 2 and maybe a tiny bit in 3)
6. The Protector (asia: Tom Yum Goong) (2005) (Tony Jaa)
7. Ong Bak 1-3 (Tony Jaa)
8. Never Back Down (1 only, as the others are krap) (Michael Jai White as the teacher/sensei role/chracter, not main characters)
9. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (very good martial arts choreography, but the movie/story/plot didn't do it for me, as I don't know chinese history and don't like all the asian philosophical stuff, but that's just me, lol)
10. Brotherhood of the Wolf (2002, Monica Bellaluchi for the s'xy bits, RAWR, laughs, don't know the main actors, meh, but this movie is really surprising and quite good... but I don't want to spoil it)
11. Kung Fu Hustle
12. The Warrior's Way (2010)
13. Ninja's Assassin (2009)
that and Jet Li's "The One"
What about
Unleashed?
Hero & Fearless certainly certified classics just on visuals alone.
Stallone was nearly paralized by the tackle from Austin since he landed so hard it broke his spine joints in the neck.
This movie had so many awesome actors in it. Rambo ( Stallone), martial artists Jason Statham, Jet Li , and Dolph Lundgren, UFC champion Randy Couture, and big boy Terry Crews. Not to mention the Texas Rattlesnake Stone Cold Steve Austin. Such an awesome action movie.
Don't forget Gary Daniels (the guy got snap his neck back to the back) former world light heavyweight kickboxing champion
Also Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke and David Zayas.
Gary Daniel as well
Seeing this in the theater, during the scene when Terry Crews' gun blasting that hallway, the whole place just ERUPTED! One of the greatest moments ever being at the movies! 😄
I was excited cuz that shotgun is in modern warfare 2(though smaller magazine). So I was looking forward to seeing it in live action.
i saw this in theatres too shit was awesome
@@fireeaglefitnessmartialart935and also in MW2019 as the JAK12 with the drum mag of corse.
The weapon Lundgren's character uses to blow the pirate in half is an M79 grenade launcher.
Fun fact, some of the enemy soldiers are real MMA fighters, they hired them while shooting in Brazil
Fun fact, that explosion at the marina stunt, killed a stunt man. He got blown up
This series may not be everyone's cup of tea, but they're great, if you like action. They are tons of fun. Keep going with the next one. I love how they keep adding to the roster.
TERRY....FREAKIN'....CREWS!!! He is national treasure.
I was at San Diego Comic Con in 2010, when they held an Expendables panel with Sly, Dolph, Terry, Randy, Austin and others. They premiered the trailer for us and Stallone called it a love letter to action fans. I'll never forget it.
My dudes!!! This was a LONG time coming! Soooo glad you reacted to this one. This is one of my favorite action movies all time for sure. Like you said....action non stop, fight sequences, the gags, the one liners. INCREDIBLE! Not too mention all the old school action heroes. I really hope you do the rest of the franchise especially with number 4 coming out soon. You guys jam!! Keep it up!!
these movies are an 80's kids wet dream I can remember when they were announced and couldnt believe all the stars Stallone got to come together for these movies
I'm so happy you remember Snatch! It's one of 2 movies Jason Statham starred in, where he did NOT kick someone lol.
Every other movie he's in, he basically plays Jason Statham doing Jason Statham things in a Jason Statham movie. He sounds gruff, he's kicks, he scowls, every single movie.
Still refreshing seeing him doing same thing in every movies he's in. I never get tired of him.
Is the other The Italian Job?
The OCTOKROOL twins would love to watch Jason Statham in *THE TRANSPORTER* (2002 action film). He drives a BMW 740i. 😂
There's so much testosterone in this movie, the first time I watched it I had a full beard by the end credits.
The "bad guy" is Eric Roberts, brother of Julia Roberts, and is so, so, so under-utilized in this film. He is the star of the film "Best of the Best" and is a martial arts movie-- so he can definitely do some moves.
The Shotgun that Terry used was the AA12💡👍
Watch them all! They are basically MADE for you!
Seeing Sylvester ,Arnold &
Bruce big action stars of the 80s in the same movie was crazy to me this joint was great I hope y'all watch 2 & 3.
AS someone who grew up in the 80's/90's.
Seeing Willis, Stalone and Arnold in the SAME scene, was like pure Joy and Orgasmic.
For me it was so amazing to watch Randy Couture get to do what he does best. Why bring action stars to do movies when you can get a former ufc heavyweaght champion of the world to do the fighting and you really saw the power in his moves.
You should've heard Terry Crews' auto shotgun in theatres. I was hearing the reverb from that thing for a week.
church scene features the 3 co-owners of the Planet Hollywood Restaurant.
Favorite scene was after Austin kicked Stallones ass, he sees Terry walk by with the auto shotgun and just runs away! Lmfaoooooooooo
Terry Crews' shotgun seems so unrealistically good but it's really just an AA-12 and it really is that good lol things insane.
The Expendables is the best callback to Rambo First Blood Part II when Co told John Rambo that he wasn’t expendable before finding and rescuing the POWs when they were supposed to just take pictures of the enemy base camp in Vietnam.
24:23- That's what happens when you're on the receiving end of the AA-12 Jackhammer Automatic Shotgun, you're literally swiss cheese.
Beautiful
Dolph Lundgren is probably the smartest and toughest dude of all these guys in real life. Emphasis on the smartest.
10:18 "MY CABBAGES!!!!!!!" Iykyk 😂😂😂
"I would give you my fist to your forehead" 😂😂
You guys need to watch expendables 2 and 3. You will love it
Hot damn 13 years ago. Honestly all of these movies have their own strengths, great choice whoever did this.
Oh great. Thanks guys, for reminding me of my obsession with Dolph Lundgren! I was five years sober! Now for the next few weeks all I'm going to be thinking about is Swedish meatballs -and I'm not talking about the food! 😅🙄😄😋
A Jason Statham movie that is a nice blend of intense action, comedy and a little drama is Crank.
I'm brazilian, and it was sooo good they came here to filming (the Vilena sequences were shot in Mangaratiba, Rio de Janeiro)!
Y’all got to check out some Jet Li movies like Romeo Must Die, or Kiss of the Dragon for the Hollywood stuff but his Hong Kong films is legendary like The Enforcer, Fist of Legend (preferably the eng dub is better actually), Black Mask and many others
Loved seeing you guys react to this. Looking forward to your reactions to 2 and 3.
Dolph Lundgren stole everyone of these movies. I loved his character
This whole series is a love letter to 80’s action films.
Stallone is 64 in this movie. Dude looks late 40’s tops.
he has the good kind of juice lol
@@robertsmith4681 takes a bit more than just the “juice” to look this way at 64.
@@axelstone3131yes, HGH, testosterone, black hair dye and Botox treatments. I say this as a Rocky fan those movies changed my life. But yeah he’s done a lot of work it’s obvious.
Expendables 2 is the best of the series. It's a real throw back to the old school action guys
After you get done with the Expendables series, you should go down the rabbit hole of Jet Li and Jason Statham movies!
To answer your ? - Gunnar used an M79 grenade launcher with 40mm buckshot in the opening scene.
And Terry Crews understated what that shotgun can do. It's an AA-12, 12 gauge, and it actually puts out 300 shells per minute.
I personally watch these movies for their deep philosophical points and character development
This comment should get more likes. 😂
I love this movie. Growing up in the 80s and 90s, my dad and I went to see all the great action films with Stallone, Arnold, and Bruce. The second film is even more fun than this one. You guys are going to absolutely love it. A throwback to a bygone era of a time when masculinity wasn't something people looked down on but admired. These guys are legends. Looking forward to The Expendables 4 this September!
Not only is Jean-Claude Van Damme the villain in #2, Scott Adkins gets some good hand-to-hand in as well.
I could watch this franchise forever. Classic 80s shoot-em-up fun.
Prayers with Bruce Willis and his family as he fights with dementia 😢
Growing up watching action movies with my dad we both had so much fun watching these films!! 😄 Only actor that was missing for us was Steven Seagal!
I was expecting to see more excitement when Jet Li showed up lol but I guess I’m just a big fan! 🤭 Kiss of the Dragon is one of my favorites!
😂 You two were in awe of this movie. 😊
Greatest ensemble movie ever made. I think Dolph Lundgren was using an 40mm slug in his grenade launcher on the opening scene (I might be wrong). And I'm pretty sure this movie was a promotional ad for the AA12 shotgun (Terry Crews' gun) 😂
Only slightly wrong, a 40mm loaded with buckshot. Which is basically a massive fuqin shotgun shell with much more buckshot
@@wolfsbane501st3 I thought buckshot too, but the fact that the hostage next to the opp wasn't obliterated alongside him made me think otherwise. But it's movie magic. The gun probably had perfect spread for that range.
i believe that dulph uses a grenade launcher with a 40mm buckshot round. check out the buckshot in those compared to regular #8 buckshot 😂
Moment I saw this pop up on my feed -- "SWEET CHIN PUBES O' CHARLES BRONSON! OctoKrool reacts to *The Expendables??* Oh hell yeah, I'm seeing this before calling it a day!" Seriously, can we all just take a moment to applaud Sylvester Stallone? He brought back Rocky Balboa to give him a fitting and heartfelt send-off. Then he brought back John Rambo to prove that no other action hero can or ever will explode more people and kill more foreign warlords on the big screen. And then? Against all odds, he brought back the sheer fun and balls-to-the-walls spectacle of 80's action back to cinemas. Honestly, the movie's not perfect but it really is such a good time watching the team do what they do best and so clearly enjoying every moment of it. Cannot wait for your reaction to "Expendables 2," it truly is a step up in *every* way imaginable.
And yes, pirates are Greedo. Shoot first, then apologize for the mess on your way out.
I’m shocked i didn’t watch this movie a long time ago they really got an all star cast in The Expendables this movie is 🔥🔥 loved y’alls reaction too 😂keep it up 💯
This movie is bad ass love the video octokrool stay motivated dream big 1 mill on the way
Excellent reaction guys! The aa-12, ah love at first boom. The round shown by Crews was a door buster used to break deadbolts and the like.
That round in the intro? Is the fin stabilized Frag12.
12gauge grenade round good out to 200meters. It was featured in the same Future Weapons episode as the AA12. I think they tried to pair the two as a special package for the military.
I love all of the expendables movies. Old man action stars bring me joy!
The transporter series or Crank is a good start for Jason Statham movies.
Hells yeah~! I loved this movie when it came out, and the movie second and third movies (non-rated versions) were likewise great! It was like a dream come true as an action movie fan who grew up with the great action flicks and actors from the 80s and 90s. We seriously NEED more movies like these. Until then, looking forward to you guys getting to Expendables 2 and 3. Take care and have a good one!
P.S.
Also, when you can, I still HIGHLY recommend "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)", "Broken Arrow (1996)", and "Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins (1985)" for ya'll to react to. Believe me, you won't be disappointed. 😉👍
Such a great film number 2&3 next but got tbh number 4 looks amazing to come I can't wait to see that in cinemas
For a Statham the first transporter or the Mechanic,or home front
Jason is a high dive specialist
Awesome Movie and Work Guys, Thanks 👍👍👍 Greetings from Helsinki, Finland 🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸
Can’t wait till 4 comes out, my boy Iko Uwais is the main villain. Great Korean action movie star, super underrated😢 But folks still love watching The Raid.
I watched 1 & 2 with my husband.. And for the life of me I can't remember #3. Hoping you guys get to that one as well - I grew up on action series with my parents & grandparents (just like WWF/WWE - I remember Jake the Snake's first tv appearance.. Yes I'm old ). You two remind me of watching movies with family.. That's a big compliment guys. ❤️ Love ya both (it's your fault.. You made me nostalgic)
I am so glad you all started this journey It gets better and better the third one is probably my favorite number four is coming out soon.
25:12 diamond eyes originally played during this scene, I think there’s a directors cut with it.
His face turned red after the first sip of hot tea 😂😂
If you want to see Jason Stathan in a starring role, I recommend Crank. Won't be disappointed imho.
I hope you guys react to The Expendables 2!
...And 3.
And The Expendables 3
no, their balls would explode from too much testosterone
I like #3, because Chuck effin' Norris ...
@@robertsmith4681 He was in 2.
Can't wait to see your reaction to the next 2 movies! Also in the Stallone vs Stone Cold fight that opening tackle actually ruptured 2 vertebrae in Stallone's neck and he kept doing the scene until it was done. Stone Cold said he would never fight Stallone for real because Stallone would kick his ass and Stallone is top dog in all things.
Seeing all these big name action movie stars come together in one movie was insane. Plot is kinda meh, but its a great "popcorn movie" just to escape life for a couple hours with crazy action and explosions.
I know y'all aren't big on sequels but 2 is great and 3 is amazing... Definitely worth the watch and the action just gets bigger and better
You guys know the Handsome slick bad guy is Julia Robert’s Brother, Eric Roberts… won lots of glden globe awards in his youth
Jump cuts are *usually* used when the people doing the action shots aren't good enough to make it believable. As in, if the camera was still and you clearly saw them they have horrible technique, bad athleticism, etc. Sly Stallone was over 60 when he made this, not exactly in his prime lol.
I can't wait to see your reactions to Expendables 2! I loved this one so much
I love these movies cause it’s giving the old action stars new life. 8:44 I love the play between the three of them. Arnold wasn’t in this one much cause he was still Governor of California at the time. 14:28 I think he said “Fry and Die”.
Can’t wait to see y’all react to the sequels 👀
I apways the love when they go “WAIT! WHAT?!”
