I feel the exact same way. Sofia's insecurity about her sister was dragged way too long in the novel. It was like no matter what was happening fina was always on her mind and that made Sofia make some really stupid decisions. And in terms of the Remo and fina mentions, I swear I rolled my eyes through it, I was like why even 🤦 They were mentioned so much in the novel it was crazy. All of this said, even though Sofia wasn't the best heroine, and the story wasn't as captivating as usual with all Cora's books I still enjoyed it. It made me look forward to Sam and Emma's book and the Sins of the father spinoff 🙌

AGREEED! Hated the first sex scene SOOO MUCH. It cemented me not like her, reading about her playing the victim in a situation SHE created had me so mad. I kept waiting for Danilo to call her out, and send her ass back home but of course he didn’t🤦🏻♀️ Also, Sophie’s maturity level was awful and had me cringing the half of the book I did read before giving up. Never noticed the age-gap between a couple so much in my life. It reminded me a lot of Savios book too. I hope the next books are more like Remo + Fina, Nino + Kiara and Luca + aria. They actually felt like intense relationships. Danilo and Sophie gave me nothing.

I couldn't connect with Sofia & Danilo, I truly believe the book could be better if Cora had started on their wedding day. I had higher expectations with the book, and it made me sad because her mafia books are my top favorites and I love her writting

Lmao my favourite part was seeing Serafina and Remo. The whole book was wayyyyy to repetitive and there was TOO much about her pining over him. And I was soo pissed that even after sorting things out she assumed that he still liked fina when they met Remo and fina, this whole book really let me down.

I just finished reading Fragile Longing, and I enjoyed the parts that had Anna, Leonas, Emma, Samuel, and when Remo and Serafina were mentioned I wanted more of them as well !! . I literally laughed watching this because you’re right, Sofia just kept comparing herself to Fina and it got so annoying, But it was a good book !

For anyone wanting to read romance novels Cora Reilly really is an amazing writer in this genre. I read Bound by the Past and Twisted Pride before I read Frangile Longing. All her books benefit from several reads to really do them justice in my opinion. I really liked this book perhaps not as much as others but I felt it needed to be written. For those who think that Serafinas kidnapping has been overwritten I think it is used as a particular trope to understand the different families. Its said in Bound by the Past and in Virtue I Fall that the kidnapping was the worst day in the history of the Outfit. And although it seems that the Comarra won that battle, I was really impressed by Cora Reillys subtle hints especially in the new generation (think Leonas) that the Outfit in the future re consolidates. This is further hinted at in Adamos book when Grigory talks to Dinara about Dantes expanding political influence, this combined with Leonas cavallaro who seems to be intent on a new direction for the Outfit leaves lots of exciting plot developments I think. At the end of Bound by the Past we see Serafinas kidnapping and defection to the Camorra through the Outfits perspective. It absolutely is a tornado in the Outfit and one that they struggle to regroup from. Now onto Sophia, I understand the criticisms but again I think she should be given some understanding In Fragile Longings and Twisted Pride she is seen as the only character in the Outfit who misses Serafina and the twins. She mourns them terribly and even at 11 years old is the only one in the family who sees the twins as what they are : innocent. This continues in Fragile Longing when she longs to see them and their absence leaves such a void in her heart. That is why I will always give Sophia her props, she understood why Serafina had to leave the Outfit with her twins and she never judged her for it. Her family treat Sophia as an afterthought and it is no wonder why she develops such neuroses. To her family Sophia is an after thought and even in the first pages of Twisted Pride she is positioned in the Mione family as an after thought, just a little sister, not blonde and not a part of the powerful twin duo. Now onto Danilo, I really enjoyed reading his perspective. The losses he took, his sister Emma, his father dying and then the loss of Serafina on his wedding day- and yet he kept going. He also gained understanding of his own pride and how it had led him down a dark path. He is a very complex character. I enjoy all of Coras books so will always read and re read them. I would advise anyone to read them as she carefully creates a mafia universe. Just as you think one family is on top another strikes back. Its convincing and compelling.

I'd waited months & weeks for this book, the plot summary was so well written that I can't help but to feel excited about it and then BOOM when the book released all the excitement of mine died. To me the book was uhhhhhh it could've been better. Also I didn't knew that she was also going to do the spin offs of the 2 mafia generations. I hope that firstly Cora releases Luca & Aria's children books because bitch like father like son, & after reading Fragile Longing I just wanna see some ruthlessness and possessiveness in her upcoming books..

Thinking about it more. I really wish less time had been about her as a child. I would have liked to know more about the current Sophie/ Fina relationship. Like it was super clear Remo had grown up. It made Danilo and Sophie both look like children.
You spoke my heart girl. I finished that book for Anna Santino and Remofina. Sophia was so fucking cringeworthy and immature. Fina was of her age when she decided to move out and go to Cammora. Yet she was so mature. Even Anna is more mature than her I expected more from Cora and this book was utterly disappointing.

I read the story between Serafina and Remo first before reading Fragile Longing that's why I understand that Fina is not that kind of sister in the early part of story where she holds grudge toward her wedding when she was kidnapped. Sofia is a strong woman and i love them. I'm on the third book of Off Balance series and I'm glad I read and through your suggestion. It's soooooo soooo gooood
I’m the ones that loved it, I understood Sofia. But also thought it was so slow at the beginning. I also agree that I would of prefer of it started in the wedding day and maybe had flash backs. I totally agree that Serafina took over the book. But totally understand what you and a few mean. Also I’m worried that this will be a repeat on Samuels book ( for me it was too much how he mourn losing fina, like it was too much) and I think in Anna’s book also Serafina will mention a lot and we will get more Serafina in Adamo’s. Now I understand why Cora will not write another novel of Serafina And Remo. Because they are every where!! Hahahha Sorry but I’m over them! I like Danilo 's character because anger , revenge and dark emotion is so powerful that the feeling can dominate a person... But Danilo didn't let those feeling overpowered him..like he rule the feeling not the feelings rule him.. I really like this type of characters...
I read it last night. I was so fucking excited I even made my mom to read the plot because I was so happy to have it in my hands BUT THEN I started reading it and I found myself scrolling pages because I hated Sofia, she had so low self-esteem, she was traumatized, she had so many issues and she didn't even talked about them with her fam. I also didn't like her family, I mean I know they are suffering because Fina is gone but hey! They have a younger daughter, a teenager! They didn't even care about her. The only one who cared for her was Anna. And don't make me start with Danilo... I thought he was gonna be more cruel or ruthless and he wasn't but that's ok... The whole problem for me was Sofia's attitude and her family issues. I was very disappointed, I expected more, Cora is one of my fav authors and last night I was so sad and kinda bored reading almost the whole book.
This was not my book. I tried soooo hard to like it but I just wasn’t felling it. I love the bound in blood series and the Commaro chronicles but this was an unsatisfying version mix of bound by temptation and twisted hearts. Now I’ll just wait for Adamo’s book.
There is no other way I would describe this book than that It was the same as Growl and Cara’s book for me. I didn’t like that book and thought it didn’t fit in as well as any others but it introduced me to the Camorra and this book introduces you to the new generation of the Mafia families we love. Really hope that Cora Reilly does well with Adamo and Dinara’s story and all the other ones. P.S. I’m only halfway through the book but just couldn’t not click on the video and express my opinion to the world!!

I think her downfall with the book was rehashing the whole fina kidnapping AGAIN from ANOTHER point of view, and having the first half of the book with Sofia as an actual child, which made her more annoying because her behaviour WAS childish and repetitive, and no actual romantic development could take place cos she was fucking 11, so when Danilo slept with other women I was like 🤷🏻♀️ he’s not gonna be celibate for six years and pine after an 11 YEAR OLD !!! honestly agree that if Cora had started the timeline from their wedding day they would have gotten so much more character development and the romance would have been more convincing

Reflecting back to the first time she and Danilo were together, I just realized what made Sofia seem so immature. If you go back to Aria's books and her sisters, they knew the realities of their life and what was expected. Even in other mafia romances (age gap or not), women are typically aware of the fact that men sleep around or have had other partners. Along this, they are also aware that they will be treated differently from those women. It feels that Sofia did not acknowledge or accept this, instead she morphed all these women into her insecurity that Danilo prefers blondes and Serafina over her. I also feel like the obsession with Danilo, particularly in the younger years was too much. Even in other books where arranged marriages happen when they were younger kids, it isn't up until 16/17 that the women understand and start expressing feelings. Like Danilo could have been a crush, but I would expect to see some uncertainty or nervousness about his nature and their relationship. I also feel like the fact Sofia grew up in her sister's shadow could have taken another direction. Like she could have taken up fighting or hang around her friends all the time. I feel like the lack of conflict with her family was also all just combined into this obsession with Danilo and Serafina.
Honestly since she stared changing her release dates I knew it wasn’t going to be as good as the other ones. I’m hoping there is a book for Emma and Samuel or Anna and Santino

everything you said about the books were my thoughs when I was Readding Fragile Longing, It´s literally so boring reading the same scenario for the third time, like I belive there was so much potencial in the plot line but we just got the same storyline for a least 70% of the book, a kid with insegurities and expectations that were freaking ridiculous ( it´s really sad the fact that almost all of female characters go through kind of the same experience but I´ve never felt this uncomfortable and embarrassed with a first time sex scene, like I literally couldn´t read it, I just stoped and decided to read another thing) and a man whith ego problems having to deal with a kid, honestly I love Cora but I am really disappointed with fragile Longing. Sorry is there some mistakes. english is not my first language.

I haven't read this yet, but I like spoilers. But I was afraid of this. It said it was a standalone mafia romance. And I just don't see how that would be possible since, Serafina and Remo's story is directly responsible for Sofia being in this position. Also, this is an issue that I have with a few of Cora's books. A lot of books will replay the same things over and over. I feel like we have seen the kidnaping and leaving of Serafina from 3 other perspectives by this point. This also happened with Twisted Bonds and Bound by the Past also showing those parts of the story. I'm just kind of done with it. Haha. Still love the series and I can't wait for Adamo book, but I just wasn't excited for this one. (But also I am a Camorra slut, and the Outfit and the Familia bore me at this point.)

If we were reading them all as they came out, maybe we would need the reminder, but for me it just got repetitive and ended up having me skip a good chunk of some books. Yeah, fuckin' sofia ruined the whole book, no chemistry, crazy obsession with fina and Remo, Danilo was too fuckin' soft for a mob boss. She acted like he raped her in the party but she forgot the fact that she said yes 3 fuckin' times and made him feel fuckin' guilty! I imagined the book when they marry in the 3 or 4 chapter, I knew they'll mention fina but not like that. I understood Sofia always feeling less but not in an insane way. Then she'll try all her efforts at being his wife but he'll reject her sometimes compare her actions to what her sister would've done, I expected him being drunk while driving. That's why he feels guilty for Emma's condition. Expected more mob business involved, him torturing and letting the monster inside him feed. Sofia sees him that way and turned on. She either touch herself or just stare. Maybe someone kidnaps her and he realises he might lose what he has. Then she gives him the cold shoulder. He tries to win her back. Ohhh and there's fucking not just sweet lovemaking. Serafina and Remo is the only thing I won't like changed😂❤I re read twisted pride after believe me I just missed my babes❤ there would be friendship between her and Emma, just wanted sth about she and Sam. Anna is my favorite in this book so far. Really liked her and her relationship with leonas. This book is a failure and no better than Savio's book. The child lusting after a grown ass man. I fuckin' hate it! Anyway really was looking forward for this video. Love ya❤❤

At the end of Bound by the Past we see Serafinas kidnapping and defection to the Camorra through the Outfits perspective. It absolutely is a tornado in the Outfit and one that they struggle to regroup from.
Now onto Sophia, I understand the criticisms but again I think she should be given some understanding
In Fragile Longings and Twisted Pride she is seen as the only character in the Outfit who misses Serafina and the twins. She mourns them terribly and even at 11 years old is the only one in the family who sees the twins as what they are : innocent. This continues in Fragile Longing when she longs to see them and their absence leaves such a void in her heart. That is why I will always give Sophia her props, she understood why Serafina had to leave the Outfit with her twins and she never judged her for it.
Her family treat Sophia as an afterthought and it is no wonder why she develops such neuroses. To her family Sophia is an after thought and even in the first pages of Twisted Pride she is positioned in the Mione family as an after thought, just a little sister, not blonde and not a part of the powerful twin duo.
Now onto Danilo, I really enjoyed reading his perspective. The losses he took, his sister Emma, his father dying and then the loss of Serafina on his wedding day- and yet he kept going. He also gained understanding of his own pride and how it had led him down a dark path. He is a very complex character.
I enjoy all of Coras books so will always read and re read them. I would advise anyone to read them as she carefully creates a mafia universe. Just as you think one family is on top another strikes back. Its convincing and compelling.
I totally agree with you, I mean Sofia was so underfoot that there were so many parts that cringed me to death & shit the sex scene, I literally expected more from Cora. I'd waited months & weeks for this book, the plot summary was so well written that I can't help but to feel excited about it and then BOOM when the book released all the excitement of mine died. To me the book was uhhhhhh it could've been better.
Also I didn't knew that she was also going to do the spin offs of the 2 mafia generations. I hope that firstly Cora releases Luca & Aria's children books because bitch like father like son, & after reading Fragile Longing I just wanna see some ruthlessness and possessiveness in her upcoming books..

Thinking about it more. I really wish less time had been about her as a child. I would have liked to know more about the current Sophie/ Fina relationship. Like it was super clear Remo had grown up. It made Danilo and Sophie both look like children.

Wow, I one hundred percent agree with you on Sofia! She acted so childish and immature towards so many things. Also, with the teasers Cora shared, it really hyped the book up for me so actually reading Fragile Longing was such a slap to face. It was nothing at all like I expected or hoped it would be. I read the story between Serafina and Remo first before reading Fragile Longing that's why I understand that Fina is not that kind of sister in the early part of story where she holds grudge toward her wedding when she was kidnapped. I’m the ones that loved it, I understood Sofia. But also thought it was so slow at the beginning. I also agree that I would of prefer of it started in the wedding day and maybe had flash backs. I totally agree that Serafina took over the book.

Also I’m worried that this will be a repeat on Samuels book ( for me it was too much how he mourn losing fina, like it was too much) and I think in Anna’s book also Serafina will mention a lot and we will get more Serafina in Adamo’s.

I like Danilo 's character because anger , revenge and dark emotion is so powerful that the feeling can dominate a person... But Danilo didn't let those feeling overpowered him..like he rule the feeling not the feelings rule him.. I really like this type of characters...
I read it last night. I was so fucking excited I even made my mom to read the plot because I was so happy to have it in my hands BUT THEN I started reading it and I found myself scrolling pages because I hated Sofia, she had so low self-esteem, she was traumatized, she had so many issues and she didn't even talked about them with her fam. I also didn't like her family, I mean I know they are suffering because Fina is gone but hey! They have a younger daughter, a teenager! They didn't even care about her. The only one who cared for her was Anna. And don't make me start with Danilo... I thought he was gonna be more cruel or ruthless and he wasn't but that's ok... The whole problem for me was Sofia's attitude and her family issues. I was very disappointed, I expected more, Cora is one of my fav authors and last night I was so sad and kinda bored reading almost the whole book.
This was not my book. I tried soooo hard to like it but I just wasn’t felling it. I love the bound in blood series and the Commaro chronicles but this was an unsatisfying version mix of bound by temptation and twisted hearts. Now I’ll just wait for Adamo’s book.

There is no other way I would describe this book than that It was the same as Growl and Cara’s book for me.
I didn’t like that book and thought it didn’t fit in as well as any others but it introduced me to the Camorra and this book introduces you to the new generation of the Mafia families we love.
Really hope that Cora Reilly does well with Adamo and Dinara’s story and all the other ones.

Hated it. Cora Reilly is my fav but boy did she miss the mark on this one.
I think her downfall with the book was rehashing the whole fina kidnapping AGAIN from ANOTHER point of view, and having the first half of the book with Sofia as an actual child, which made her more annoying because her behaviour WAS childish and repetitive, and no actual romantic development could take place cos she was fucking 11, so when Danilo slept with other women I was like 🤷🏻♀️ he’s not gonna be celibate for six years and pine after an 11 YEAR OLD !!! honestly agree that if Cora had started the timeline from their wedding day they would have gotten so much more character development and the romance would have been more convincing

Reflecting back to the first time she and Danilo were together, I just realized what made Sofia seem so immature. If you go back to Aria's books and her sisters, they knew the realities of their life and what was expected. Even in other mafia romances (age gap or not), women are typically aware of the fact that men sleep around or have had other partners. Along this, they are also aware that they will be treated differently from those women. It feels that Sofia did not acknowledge or accept this, instead she morphed all these women into her insecurity that Danilo prefers blondes and Serafina over her. I also feel like the obsession with Danilo, particularly in the younger years was too much. Even in other books where arranged marriages happen when they were younger kids, it isn't up until 16/17 that the women understand and start expressing feelings. Like Danilo could have been a crush, but I would expect to see some uncertainty or nervousness about his nature and their relationship. I also feel like the fact Sofia grew up in her sister's shadow could have taken another direction. Like she could have taken up fighting or hang around her friends all the time. I feel like the lack of conflict with her family was also all just combined into this obsession with Danilo and Serafina.

At least Danilo was patient with Sofia but I agree with what you said; somethings could have been skipped. Like up to the wedding and then Sofia saying something like: “It’s been years since my sister Serafina went to the Camorra and now am marrying her ex-fiancé. I’ve been insecure because I will never be as good as Fina but all I can do it be a better wife to Danilo.” Anyways am looking forward to Adamo story~ I really think Cora’s mafia series should be made into a Netflix series~ It can’t be rushed and it would have more drama in between characters~** have a lovely day beautiful~ -A

I could not agree more with your review. I'm also really over the virgin crap with most of these mafia books. A few mafia authors that I've enjoyed(more often than not have strong female leads) or not total doormats...Sophia Lark, SR Jones, Bella Di Corte, Kenya Wright, Keta Kendric, and Jax Hart.

Which was totally different from others...but the cora reilly definitely love fina and Remo . Like she can't get over them.. kept bringing them when it wasn't needed... everything you said about the books were my thoughs when I was Readding Fragile Longing, It´s literally so boring reading the same scenario for the third time, like I belive there was so much potencial in the plot line but we just got the same storyline for a least 70% of the book, a kid with insegurities and expectations that were freaking ridiculous ( it´s really sad the fact that almost all of female characters go through kind of the same experience but I´ve never felt this uncomfortable and embarrassed with a first time sex scene, like I literally couldn´t read it, I just stoped and decided to read another thing) and a man whith ego problems having to deal with a kid, honestly I love Cora but I am really disappointed with fragile Longing. Sorry is there some mistakes. english is not my first language.

I haven't read this yet, but I like spoilers. But I was afraid of this. It said it was a standalone mafia romance. And I just don't see how that would be possible since, Serafina and Remo's story is directly responsible for Sofia being in this position.
Also, this is an issue that I have with a few of Cora's books. A lot of books will replay the same things over and over. I feel like we have seen the kidnaping and leaving of Serafina from 3 other perspectives by this point. This also happened with Twisted Bonds and Bound by the Past also showing those parts of the story. I'm just kind of done with it. Haha.
Still love the series and I can't wait for Adamo book, but I just wasn't excited for this one. (But also I am a Camorra slut, and the Outfit and the Familia bore me at this point.)

Yeah, fuckin' sofia ruined the whole book, no chemistry, crazy obsession with fina and Remo, Danilo was too fuckin' soft for a mob boss. She acted like he raped her in the party but she forgot the fact that she said yes 3 fuckin' times and made him feel fuckin' guilty!
I imagined the book when they marry in the 3 or 4 chapter, I knew they'll mention fina but not like that. I understood Sofia always feeling less but not in an insane way. Then she'll try all her efforts at being his wife but he'll reject her sometimes compare her actions to what her sister would've done, I expected him being drunk while driving. That's why he feels guilty for Emma's condition. Expected more mob business involved, him torturing and letting the monster inside him feed. Sofia sees him that way and turned on. She either touch herself or just stare. Maybe someone kidnaps her and he realises he might lose what he has. Then she gives him the cold shoulder. He tries to win her back. Ohhh and there's fucking not just sweet lovemaking. Serafina and Remo is the only thing I won't like changed😂❤I re read twisted pride after believe me I just missed my babes❤ there would be friendship between her and Emma, just wanted sth about she and Sam. Anna is my favorite in this book so far. Really liked her and her relationship with leonas.
