Crème Caramel - French Custard Pudding Recipe
For 4 persons
Level: Intermediate
Prep time: 25 min
Cooking time:45 min
Resting time: At least 6 hours
Ingredients
For caramel:
1/3 cup granulated sugar (75g)
1 tablespoon water
For custard filling:
100g granulated sugar (1 tablespoon of sugar should be spooned out of 1/2 cup of sugar.)
3 eggs
Pinch salt
500 ml milk ( 2 cups, plus 1 tablespoon)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

this is a wonderful dessert, make sure you let it cool really well in the fridge its much tastier then and you can use a heat proof glass shallow dish if you don't have remekins
my way of making an entrée witheggs putting salt n pepper instead of sugar n caramel.

Your channel is as good as yourself.I tried this caramel.I ve tried it many times infact.The problem I face is I am unable to get the brown or golden colour.The sugar water turns yellowish very light brown.Could you help out?
I have tried baking cakes.I use a fork as I don't ve a beater.I notce that the cakes are never fluffy or soft even if I am careful abt the baking time.Kindly tell me what could ve gone wrong.I am so desperate as are my kids to bake a good chocolate cake.

Really? We sometimes call this dessert flan in my country:D I think the hardest part is to keep the custard from bubbling. My flan is not as smooth as Eugenie's . When you make the caramel, maybe you should try adding some drops of lemon or lime juice in the sugar before heating:D
Another question why do you strain the milk through a sive?
my ramekins broke so I only have one. can this recipe work with a pie dish?

Cookies taste better the next day but surely you can eat as soon as they are cooled. Enjoy! :)

it is possible to use powder milk instead of fresh milk?
Possible but with powdered milk baking time and temperature will be a little different, the final result won't be as good.
