RECIPE
▼Ingredients
(For 3 cups)
Sugar 30g
Water 3tbsp
Hot Water 3tbsp
Whole Egg 2
Egg Yolk 2
Milk 250g
Sugar 35g
Vanilla Extract 1tsp
▼步驟 Instructions
1. Sugar and water the pot, heat until dark brown color, add hot water. Pour into moulds.
2. Add egg yolks, eggs, vanilla. Whisk the ingredients thoroughly.
3. Mircowave sugar and milk in 1mins 30s or heat it in a pot. Until all sugar is dissolved.
4. Add the milk to the beaten egg while whisking the mixture. Sift it in 2 times.
5. Pour the egg into the moulds. Bake 140ºC (280ºF) for 40~55 minutes depending on the moulds.
6. Refrigerate at less 6 hours.

@@M87lol this is called Purin and it is Japanese. It's a Japanese variation of flan/creme caramel, which is less sweet and more eggy.
If you put it side by side with a flan, the difference is obvious.

Hey...it's leche flan 🇵🇭 Leche flan uses more yolks - maybe 5-6 yolks for every whole egg, so it has a deeper color. Whisking is a no-no for us so we just stir. We add a pinch of fine salt as a flavor enhancer, and maybe a squeeze of lemon into the batter or a grating of lemon zest as topping (on top of the creme brule of course). For the _leche_, we just use condensed milk as well as evaporated milk. But making your own sweet milk mixture is the way to go if you want to control the sweetness. Baking leche flan is unheard of and quite unique. We steam ours.
By the way, last night I made a batch of custard according to the video. I'm eating it now. It came out super good and very similar to leche flan. Craving fulfilled. 🤩

We have this in Philippines too,we call it'Leche Flan'but the difference we only use the egg yolk,not with the egg whites
That depends with the recipe, Filipino flan simply uses more egg to dairy ratio which is why it sets faster and can be easily made through steaming much like Chinese steamed eggs, using more yolk just yeilds a brighter color traditionally you wouldn't waste the egg so you would use the whites as well but increase the amount of eggs

Flan, Creme caramel or caramel pudding originates from Provence in Southern France but has adapted to various cuisines around the world. I still miss my grandma's flan.
I made it, I acidantly put a little bit more suger than I perfer into the milk and It's a bit too sweet for me. Aside that, it's all good.
