I'm a high handicapper and I play AP1 712's and love them. I find them responsive and the feel and sound off this face is confidence inspiring. I tried lots of different brands and many of my friends play Ping G20 but I didn't like the feel off the face (or the look to be honest) so I chose AP1's. Probably won't update to 714's as there's not enough change to justify the outlay especially at my level but I'd recommend both Titleist and AP1's to anybody.
I purchased AP1 704's 5 through P & W Spring 2014 and played well this season. Being a senior I went with graphite shafts. I have enjoyed these irons this season and found them true and forgiving. With wonderful feel I would recommend these irons to anyone. Great launch and control. I'm looking forward to next season and will try to play a few more rounds.
Great idea the AW & GW. AP1's are aimed at the mid-handicapper and seniors like myself, who normally don't carry a LW. Since the crucial shots gained/lost area is 100yds in, this means we can bridge that final approach really efficiently, distance wise, so along with a 56*SW maybe get a few more one putt opportunities.
Have to say mark you've come a long way, looking up a review of mp-58 irons and you pop up on you tube with a steel door over your left shoulder and squeaky floorboards going nuts throughout the review. The difference a few years make keep up the good work, really enjoy your reviews!!
@@paulmcgee1867 sure it is more the naming that's I take issue with. The AW2 is 52 deg. So why not have just the one gap wedge at 52 and a 48 PW. An AP1 set with a 60 degree lob wedge the bag has 5 wedges. With 718 the PW is 43 degrees, with this trend will we see 50% of a bag being wedges ? Or put another way. When is a wedge not just an iron? Why not just call 4 iron the 23 degree wedge?
Such a conn theres only so much that can be done. Its basically down to fancy stickers and cranked lofts, so you feel like you can hit your new 7 iron further, but Its just a 6 iron with a 7 on it. Likrhe said pw at 44deg doesnt fit so need more gap wedges. Thats because its a 9 iron
Interesting review. Somewhat surprised by your enthusiastic comments for AP1. In my humble opinion, AP2 has always been one of Titleist's best game-improvement irons. AP1 has always appeared as too chunky and far less appealing to the eye than the competing clubs you mentioned - Ping G25 and TM Rocketblades. I believe Titleist is missing a large segment of the market by not focusing on high handicap players as Mizuno has done with their JPX 825 and new EZ brands. Imagine what great clubs Titleist could make if they decided to truly compete in this space.
Titleist is the most Underrated iron ever !! ..their tremendous clubs ..I'm getting these this week at reduced price can't wait

Just bought these irons, your video helped me a great deal. I played them this morning, and I'm quite pleased , they feel tremendous.

Thank you Mark, was waiting for this review :)
Will hopefully be getting these later in the season if all goes well
I just bought the ap1s they are awesome!
Bought a set from my local Pro-shop yesterday. Tested these beautiful girls out and they are so easy to hit! A little hard to bend either ways though.
I'm just about to buy these irons the write up is good:)
Are there anymore driver reviews or is it mainly irons?
Is it still a review when you're filming at the manufacturer's range with a representative of the manufacturer standing next to you?
The weighted toe reminds me of the DTR.
44 degree pitching wedge! TWO gap wedges? Where will the madness stop?
The AP1 724 set will have 9 iron, PW and AW 1, AW2, AW3, et al
I agree. It's a bit much when you can only have 14 clubs in your bag.
You just add a 52 & 56

Any more course vlogs ?
Could you possibly compare the AP1with the new Wilson Staff C100?

"There's a lot of head down there by the ball".
Agreed there is not enough people playing AP1! Marketing works I guess. Fantastic club tho!!
Ap1 vs Speedbladez
eff a 44° PW...
It's a DCI 9 iron.
and a dci pw is 48 degrees, crazy
