fun fatcs from a slime turtorial owner!
-farrah and annleigh are step sisters which is a huge reason why their relationship is so full of tension. Its this thing where they kind of hate each other outwardly but also have this protectiveness that comes out once a blue moon
-eva is a head cheerleader from another school who transfers over to them after act 1 because riley hero worships her and bought out a scholarship for her to cheer for the tigers
-also eva and kate end up dating!! only in the final song but its still cute :)
-reese is plus sized which is unfortunately why everyone is such a dick to her :(
-mattie is a freshmen who gets truth or dared into chugging farrah's waterbottle which is very clearly not containing water(cough cough booze) and she blacks out and cuts herself so is already covered in blood and unaware when the murders happen so chiro prompts riley to pin them on her because of that
-the reason chess and farrah are targeted specifically is because they both struggle with addiction (touched on in the scene prior to Before the breakdown) farrah is borderine alchoholic and chess had an injury a while ago that got her hooked on pain meds and she accidentally dropped farrah during a cheer last year which got her concussed
-reese actually kills clark by accident because she discovers farrah's body and freaks out and clark who was hiding so as to not get annleigh in trouble startles her and she clonks him in the head with the shower head and only comes clean about it later in act 2
-the show is extremely funny, like the "i have a cat, doesnt mean i like petting it" line is a perfect example of how spit your drink out hilarious some of the dialogue is

Fun fact! When Cairo says "See you all in Hell!" At the end of IDK, she pirouettes to the door while flipping everyone off with both hands. Really makes me wish that albums could include video.

YAY, loved the reaction. This was definetly one of those soundtracks that sent me down an animatics rabbit hole to get a better sense of the plot. Honestly would rather have had this be a movie than the mean girls musical, with tighter writing it would have been so fun
I LOVE the music of this show so much, so seeing you geeking out over the drums, themes and lyrics made me SO HAPPY. plus you catch onto things SO QUICK and i am IMPRESSED

omg I didn't expect to see WATT on your channel! super happy about this, had a lot of fun seeing you react to it! and yes, the lack of "plot" in the songs is a common criticism, and i wholeheartedly agree despite loving the show. songs like IDK and The Breakdown are proof that they could've done so much better :'D
So the show itself keeps getting taken off of youtube, but its sent through google drives and its worth the watch, especially for more context and you need to see Annleigh's comedy bits lmao

GOD I love this show so much!! The music, the performances, the way it subverts expectations and turns tropes on its head- all of it is gold. It’s not perfect by any means, like I think it’s a rewrite or two away from going from a great show to an amazing show. Like you said, it could definitely use a few more plot driven numbers, as much as I love the character driven ones. It’s really, really difficult to get a grasp of what’s going on from the cast recording alone. Pretty much all of the plot happens in between the numbers, which is a shame because songs like Idk and The Breakdown that do put the plot front and center are some of the best in my opinion. You picked up a lot more than I did my first time listening though 😂
To clear up a few things that were left vague from the cast recording, the main murder victims were Chess (who was killed immediately after Before the Breakdown), and Farrah (who was killed right after the Before the Breakdown reprise). Clark (who wasn’t supposed to be there in the first place, he’d snuck into the party to see Annleigh) basically died in a comedy of errors- he walked into the room after Reese discovered Farrah’s body, causing her to panic and go absolutely feral on him (funniest scene in the show imo).
The girls, not knowing who was responsible for the murders, placed the blame on Mattie, a freshman and new addition to the team who blacked out after Cairo dared her to drink a ton of alcohol.
There is a pretty significant time skip between acts 1 and 2. I believe the sleepover is a biannual (or annual? i think biannual, I don’t think it’s been a whole year, but definitely several months) tradition.
Eva is kind of a weird character, and I love her but adding her in the second act was certainly a choice. Basically, she’s just a transfer from another school who got in way over her head, and spends the entire second act fed up and confused. Hilarious, and she and Kate are cute (they end up together at the end of the show! let’s go lesbians!), but yeah. Odd choice.
That’s most of the stuff the cast recording left out! I hope you’re able to see it someday, it’s such a fun and unique show and the score doesn’t completely do it justice.
Last thing. I want to put Annleigh and Grace Chastity in a room together and observe from a safe distance.

The one complaint I have about We Are The Tigers is not a single person cared that Farrah died. Like Chess got a lot of love, Clark was talked about a lot but when it came to Farrah everyone was like "..." Which does make some since because she wasnt friends with anyone but if the most love that Farrah gets is from Riley, the killer, i-
I would say that Annleigh cared about Farrah’s death, even if she didn't want to admit it. Yes, there is the whole thing where she thinks that Clark was cheating on her with Farrah, but Farrah does show up in “Move On” which I think speaks to Annleigh caring for Farrah in some wat
Heya barb! i have a musical suggestion for you that i finally got around to listening to myself! i really recommend the Goosebumps: phantom of the auditorium musical! it has a super stacked cast and the first song made me loose my marbles in the first 3 seconds! hope your having a good day/night ❤
kate's relationship with chess can be viewed as a one-sided crush but i think a lot of kate's anguish is that she has abandonment issues and clings to chess, essentially
I'm not sure if it's available anywhere, but there was a recent reunion concert that included the writer giving humorous narration between the songs. Might be another way to get yourself some context. You seem to have done well already!

@19:25 I totally agree! This musical has such a weird mismatch between the marketing/plot and the actual vibes. Like the marketing reads cheesy slasher movie with cheerleaders while the soundtrack is just a lot of MOODY TEEN GIRL ANGST. Not a bad thing exactly, fans love the angst, but I feel like a person sitting down to see the cheesy slasher musical might be a little disappointed by what they get with this one.
