I love how Jeff repurposed the "One Foot In The Grave" demo from Nightmare Time for "Step On Your Grave" here, cause that way we still get to hear it in canon somewhere
"Comedy or tragedy, will it ever after happily?" Is such an intriguing line, especially if you consider the history of Starkid endings. Will they keep up the trend of tragic endings they've done though Hatchetfield or will they do something different now that they're doing something else?
And from what I've seen and heard, it seems like most of their pre-Hatchetfield stuff had either happy or bittersweet endings and Hatchetfield was actually a substantial tonal shift for them. Also, I think one of the Lang brothers said on a livestream that Cinderella's Castle is meant to have a similar vibe and tone to 80s cult hit fantasy movies like The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth.
@@adamdavis1648 I feel like they're gonna either sacrifice Cinderella at the end or town's people are gonna sacrifice themselves for her.

They mentioned on the reveal stream for these that the queen referenced in Ash to Ash is the Fairy queen of sweet dreams and Facade is sung by the 3 trolls. Also they are planning a series set in this new world if people enjoy Cinderella's Castle so the opening song Castle on a Hill was written as more of a theme song for the series kinda like Nightmare Time's theme.

They were super cagey about who sings Trappings of Starlight, so I think that might be sung by the ghost of her mom. The whole "you can't see my fury but i'm furious for you" and "my love will be fierce/your love will be missed" sounds like a protective mother who's separated from her daughter. Also, those notes. That's gotta be a female voice

I was hoping it was crumb or Hop-a-lot singing at the death bed of the other, and they didn't reveal who sing it to avoid massive spoilers
This is the first time I was able to back one of their kickstarters and these songs are making me so much more excited about being able to see this show live!! I don't think I'm ready haha

3:06 "A queen and her vanity, a beast and his agony" are referring to Snow White and Beauty and the Beast respectively (I do remember on one of the other livestreams they talked about how this show was going to be the start of a new series, so maybe that's a hint for what other stories are coming next???)
Also "Facade" is the stepsisters, not Cinderella

Yes ! they said they wanted to futureproof the song for whatever stories they do next with the lands that are, castle on a hill being kind of an anime opening, more akin to the nightmare time theme song
Yes, they said if this goes over well, there is potential for other similar stories in the future. That is why my theory is Cinderella's Castle refers to the iconic symbol of Disney (Cinderella's Castle is predominant at Disney World and at the beginning of many Disney movies). There are also possible allusions to Robin Hood and Sword and the Stone among others I probably missed.

Actually Nick mentioned during Trappings Of Starlight it's actually a song for character we do not know yet because of spoilers he never mentioned this character before but you can clearly see there ARE more characters in the trailer.
I agree that some of the terms are not accidental. Ember and the allusions to fire (Cinder-ella Ashmore) connects her to her mom who was burned at the stake for witchcraft. Starlight and everything makes me think of the Fairy Queen of Sweet Dreams. You dream at night under the stars that you can wish upon. It makes me think about the song in the cartoon version of Cinderella when she sings, "A dream is a wish your heart makes/When you're fast asleep . . . " Just saying.

But what if Cinderella isn't all benevolent after marrying the prince? He doesn't seem the brightest individual. She can probably manipulate him, making the castle and throne really hers. (Maybe I'm just obsessed with my favourite characters turning bad after Chastity in NPMD...)
And thinking about it, he's only the prince and not the king. Who is actually in charge? Is there a queen or king?
i’m willing to bet money trappings of starlight is (at least partially) crumb singing to sir hopalot when the latter is dead or dying
I think the whole plot will be about Ella's family, Ashmore.
I also agree with how the castle was originally her family's.
Also my prediction is that prince is gonna fall in love with one of the trolls (Angela) but then again n the song, "Neon" I feel like he do fall in love with Ella but who knows.
Shout out to the person on twitter who joked the song Neon is just the Prince singing about feet.

Hey you like Greek mythology right? I'm hoping you'd react to Epic The Musical which was about Odysseus and his journey. The creator is releasing it in several parts (or sagas as they're called) and he's just released the final part of act 1 a couple weeks ago. It hasn't been brought to stage yet but it's supposed to be fully sung like Hamilton or Hadestown so you won't miss any plot and I personally think you'll have a good time reacting to the songs

Do keep in mind that what you're hearing aren't necessarily the true versions of the songs. Aside from "Castle On The Hill," they did say that Jeff modified the lyrics of every song to hide the true nature of each song to avoid spoilers. These Demos exist to show what the songs sound like, not what they mean, because that would ruin the the story of the musical. So what you think you know about each song might be an intentional misdirect by Jeff. We won't know until we see the show and hear the true versions of the songs. Again, aside from "Castle On The Hill." Since that's the Opening Number, the actual lyrics don't spoil anything so Jeff just Demo'd that song in its entirety.
Also, I think "Castle On The Hill" is going to be the Opening Ensemble Song with Jeff Blim as the Lead Singer because it sounds like the song that the Narrator would sing at the top of the show and Jeff is the Narrator and Starkid opens every show they've ever done with an Ensemble Song (aside from Ani in which the cast didn't sing).
Also also, if you haven't watch the Live Streams, you should. They're great. Specifically, we need to get you to react to something they did a reading of during, I believe, the "Pitstop in Hatchefield" Live Stream. They read Four Scenes from two potential Nightmare Time 3 Episodes. The first scene is from one episode and the last three are from the same episode. There's a lot of lore drop. The first is a Bill-centric scene and reveals who the CEO of CCRP is and what CCRP stands for. The last 3 are from a Ms. Holloway Episode that reveals a bit about her backstory, specifically whom she made the "deal" with for her powers. I REALLY want to see your reactions to those, especially the Ms. Holloway ones. They didn't need to go as hard as they did when doing the "Table Read" of these scenes, but it's Starkid. Their performances were phenomenal.
