"Shrek the Third", to me, is not the best of the films. It's FUN, but not GREAT compared to the others. Each of the films has something special about it. Shrek 1 subverts our usual expectations by making our heroes an ogre, a donkey, a cursed princess and a dragon, while the Lord/would be king is just a tyrannical megalomaniac and ends with the princess becoming an ogre rather than becoming a perfect princess again. Shrek 2 went into the depths of Shreks love for Fiona, willing to change himself to make Fiona happy, and having the FAIRY GODMOTHER as the villainess. And this one has Prince Charming as the villain. However, the true "finale"for the movies, I was really glad to see, was "Shrek: Ever After". I'm not going to say anything big about it, but it's such a MAJOR step up in terms of movie quality, story, everything and it is a far better end to the film universe.

in the swedish dub of this film, when Fiona tells Shrek she's pregnant, she says the swedish equivalent of like "with child" (havande) instead of the actual word pregnant (gravid). so, a few years later when my aunt was pregnant with my cousin, I told my mom that she was with child because I'd watched this film on repeat and had heard that word more frequently than the word pregnant. also didn't help that young me had the vocabulary of an old maid too
It’s definitely not as good as the other three films but I still really like it. There’s a lot of good jokes and little details, and the emotional stuff is great. Shrek’s whole arc of becoming a father and his relationship with Arthur are great.

That was one of the few funny parts that had my theater erupting in laughter in a film that overall had very few moments of humor
@@RYMAN1321 yeah, 3d is just weak. I don’t get why they did it dirty like that.
I think I only saw this movie once because I didn't like it, so I don't remember it at all. Can't wait for your reaction to the 4th one! It's got my favorite villain in the franchise.
in the swedish dub of this film, when Fiona tells Shrek she's pregnant, she says the swedish equivalent of like "with child" (havande) instead of the actual word pregnant (gravid). so, a few years later when my aunt was pregnant with my cousin, I told my mom that she was with child because I'd watched this film on repeat and had heard that word more frequently than the word pregnant. also didn't help that young me had the vocabulary of an old maid too
It’s definitely not as good as the other three films but I still really like it. There’s a lot of good jokes and little details, and the emotional stuff is great. Shrek’s whole arc of becoming a father and his relationship with Arthur are great.
No not really because they played his fears of becoming a dad for laughs and not serious
24:10 A loose translation of what he said counts as "I know where he was going but I don't know where he actually is"
He didn't kill that guy, he injured him. 😂
the incredibles!!!!
It’s coming after the Shrek franchise!
@@nickflix8657 Omg you’re going to love it!
@@nickflix8657 Don’t forget to react to Incredibles 2
@@nickflix8657 are you gonna react to shrek forever after?
NickFlix: I love the fairy godmother I hope she returns somehow
Me: Nope she's dead forever
I love "the inmigrant song" with snow white" 😂😂😂😂 greetings from Venezuela 🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪
2nd movie: "I need some sleep".
3rd movie: "I got some sleep and I needed it"
That's probably the only really good use of music in this one.
the main thing I remembered from this movie was the baby dream scene 😭 funny and traumatising
In the french version, the babys' voice is more acute
I love how dream works make fun with disney movies in many ways.
Yeah the third film has some real hit or miss comedic moments and of course some cringe moments too... but it wasn't like the worst of the worst. It did have a few good chuckles at least. Can't wait for the next!!
The legend of King Arthur is not necessarily Disney material. It is technically a story with a tradition going back several centuries.😊
hey nick, don't know if you take recommendations or if you've already seen it, but a movie that i know you'll absolutely love is The Spiderwick Chronicles. it was a huge part of my childhood and its still one of my favourite movies ever. ^^ loved this reaction !!
I'm happy you found some enjoyment out of this movie. I am looking forward to the 4th movie reaction, truly underrated and got a bad rep from this movie that most people didn't give it a chance
The girl that keeps on falling asleep is Sleeping Beauty
There is a Disney movie about her
Sleeping Beauty 1959
Cinderella 1950
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves 1937
So nobody going to talk about that Prince Charming Jr. is related to Cinderella husband Prince Charming ?
And the mom is Cinderella evil godmother who died in Sherk 2? 😂😂😂😂😂
I don’t get why people say the 3rd is the weakest hahah I always liked it as much as the first two
Harold’s death scene was very tedious and not funny. The use of “Live and Let Die” was also so inappropriate for a funeral (maybe that was the joke though?)
Much of the humor was also more juvenile and forced
When the scene where Shrek is trying to relate to Artie is taken from one of the Austin Powers movies.
The 4th one doesn't have a lot of jokes and isn't as funny but that doesn't make it bad, it has a good story and is kind of powerful in some scenes, (no spoilers) but it's also a good ending to end the franchise!
The 4th movie doesn't make sense!Where is Farquaad?Where are the Fairy Godmother and Charming?!?How is it possible that none of the ogres knows Fiona turns into a human every day?!?That movie should have never existed!X-[
@@Nicamon does it make sense if...(NO SPOILERS)

farquaad only wanted to send reg knights. and it seems like many died already to the dragon before shrek got there. farquad may have sent them if shrek wasint. most likely he gave up after losing hoards and hoards of knights sent. and tried for other, easier, princesses eventually. (which most likely didint work out eaither)
since king and queen signed away their kingdom, fairy god mother may have found no use for them. as charming had no reason to save fiona anymore (becoming king if he did).
seems like all the orgres are nocturnal in that they're up all night then sleep the day away to stay most safe from various witch patrols. fiona could also just do what she wants as the lead. claiming "do not disturb as iam planning strategy's"
@@reddogf.1389 "Farquaad may have sent them if Shrek wasn't. Most likely he gave up after losing hoards and hoards of knights sent. You movie cannot make me GUESS what happened to the other characters:you need to SHOW ME or at least TELL ME.
"Seems like all the orgres are nocturnal"Since WHEN?!?!?!Shrek has *never* been"nocturnal"and he was the only ogre we've seen so far!!The fact these ogres are all"nocturnal"just to prevent Fiona from transforming it's very convenient 😓 but there's no logical REASON why they should be...it's ONLY so they can't see Human Fiona!X-PP
Trust me, even this franchise forgot this movie existed. The fourth one doesn't reference anything from the third, and in fact it continues the story from the second, where Shrek is still questioning whether or not he should go back to being a scary ogre.
Imagine if there were 101 Ogres like 101 Dalmatians
You need to watch The Sword in the Stone if you haven’t already. Classic!
I hope you watch all the shorts too 😁 they’re pretty fun! There’s Halloween shorts you can probably do in time for Halloween if you wanted to 😁
I know the films are seen as going downhill past part 2, but I actually have a soft spot for part 3; it's my second favorite Shrek movie.
As a fan of "The sword in the stone" I just couldn't get into Arthur and Merlin. That's why this part is the weakest for me. Also the whole "oh no, she's with child" subplot.
what do you mean with the part of "oh no, she's with child" subplot being weak? I apologize if your comment is meant to be obvious, english is not my native language so
@@miarue5322 don't worry, it's not mine either. :) I just didn't like that subplot. It was played out and didn't entertain me.
Don't get me wrong, this is purely my opinion. I can understand if others like it.
It feels more like a TV special than a movie tbh but it's still enjoyable. The fourth one is great though.
Pinocchio trying not to lie is one of the funniest scenes LOL
That's funny, it took you to hearing Merlin to get the reference, not Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot, Merlin is the man.
This movie....this movie. I like to imagine it doesn't exist. I mean, it really isn't bad but it's definitely not good. The only part I like is the scene where all the princesses team up to defeat Charming (and the part where Arturo talks about his dad abandoning him, I guess). Fortunately, Shrek 4 redeemed the franchise, giving us the perfect ending for this amazing story.💚
Truth. 3 could be skipped without really missing anything, other than the king having died and Shrek's own being a daddy issues.
@@phousefilms that's more to fault the 4th one, not the third. Arthur and the other villains could definitely be important there if the writers wanted, but they went for an alternate reality plot.
“Not here kitten whiskers. Daddy will discuss it later” Every time I hear this I think of tik tok
The Shreck's dream aaaaah I love this scene, Im dying 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You should see this in french because the babies' voice is more acute.
My favorite moment of the nightmare is when Donkey and Puss have babies' face
@@a.g.demada5263 yes in french version the dream is very funny too, I agree 🤣👌
@@ludivinebalthazar9189 in particular when Donkey has a baby's face
I think the biggest issue I have with this is there are so many boring human character designs between Artie, the princesses, and some of the villains.
I have no idea if it's true, but I've always had a theory that Charming is Arthur's bio dad and he left him so long ago that none of them recognize each other
No, Arthur is the son of Uther Pendragon who is mentionned in the legend
@@a.g.demada5263 this is Shrek. it's a parody of fairy tales, I think they're okay with not sticking to details from the legend
@@norwegianpride7523 I know it's a parody
I've been waiting for thisssss
Prince Charming is definitely the type to call others his discord kittens...
my favorite part of this movie is that Arthur was voiced by Justin Timberlake
Funny you saying you didn't like the king dying at the beginning when I was laughing out loud when I saw that scene hahahaha
Great reaction and I‘m SOOO excited for the 4th one!!! 🥰🤩🤩🤩
The princesses are badasses!
Not my favorite shrek film but it has its moments.
If you'll be doing more Halloween movies than I recommend paranorman
dude no one wanna question that.
where is that viking in the ship? is he still alive?
1st off: Arthur is in fact the same Arthur pendragon from the legends of Camelot.
2nd: He is voiced by *NSYNC dancer Justin Timberlake
Love your vids Nick! I watch them all 🥰 one question, will you react to Raya and the Last Dragon?
I’m not a fan of the third but I’m still happy to see you react to it!
I just came to see him react to the princesses honestly
The poster of the play charming looks like Harold and for a minute he did look like him.
When Charming tried to stab Shrek, I don’t blame Nick for his reaction to that cause when I first watched the movie, I thought Charming killed Shrek. But then I got surprised when Shrek moved is head
YESSS IVE BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS
Even tho this one aint that great,I appreciate it for somewhat having Shrek learn fatherhood whilst trying to get Arthur to Far Far Away and be king.
we must protect nick at all costs.
