Hello Nick, have you seen the movie: Krampus?, if not maybe you’ll consider reacting to it? And on a none Christmas related movie note I think you would enjoy the movie: Quest for Camelot.
27:10 Fun fact: That was not scripted! They wanted Jim Carrey to pull it off and have everything go flying off the table for a gag. But Carrey is such a master at it he kept doing it perfectly, so finally, he just went back and knocked everything off by hand, and that's the take they went with.
I love how in this version, the whos arent right. Niether is The Grinch. In the original the Whos didnt care about the toys from the start, they were the ones to teach the Grinch, but this version has bothe the whos teaching the Grinch but also the Grinch teaching the Whos.
I've always seen it like this: Both are a reflection of the times they were made in. The original was in 1966, back when the focus of Christmas was on family. Live action is more accurate to how Christmas is now.
I appreciate how this version expanded on the Grinch’s “super strength” and inclination towards inventing. Even as a kiddo he was making and creating and you see traces of that all over his cave.
Fun Film Fact: Jim Carrey had the CIA train him in enduring torture in order to not feel claustrophobic when in the Grinch costume and prosthetic makeup.
Joshua Ryan Evans, who plays the Kid Grinch, tragically passed away two years after this movie released. He had so much spunk! Respect. And it’s never a Jim Carrey film without an animal costar. Max is likable!
To be honest, I’m not always a fan of Christmas, because I never liked the way my family acts involving Christmas and the presents and all that. But it’s movies like this that show us what Christmas is REALLY about, it makes me love Christmas again.
Not sure if your talking kids or older relatives, but try taking them to a soup kitchen or homeless shelter that provides a holiday meal to the less fortunate. Might just be a wakeup call to rest of family.
I'm 18 and I honestly can't remember a time I ever really cared about presents. Like, for the longest time I've felt "you don't have to get me anything but if you do (since they usually still do) just give me money." I've always really felt like people spelling money on getting me a gift was a waste ever since I was maybe 12 because I'm the kind of person that doesn't need much and doesn't spend much. I do love spending time with my family and watching them enjoy everything though
I saw them live and Taylor literally spent 30 mins making lewd noises into the mic and then did a half hour set 😂 idk what was going on but it was pretty fun, it's hilarious knowing this was the first thing she ever did
The Grinch Whoville set was outside on the Universal backlot. The set had been crumbling for years. They never had a chance to take it down with tourists running around. The set was finally demolished last yr during lockdown.

He might be from the speck that Hortan carries. Grinch looks just like one of those Whos, especially when considering the animated Grinch.
Just thank your stars you've watched this when you're older and as an adult, lol. As much as this is my all time favorite Christmas movie , and it's a beloved Christmas classic, as a kid, at first viewing , scared the absolute crap out of me, haha, that part when the teenagers disturbs the Grinch's home , and Max comes out with that scary head, I cried and had to go home from the theaters. Haha after that first viewing , I came to love the entire movie , but as a kid in that time , I just wasn't ready for that. A jump scare that didn't mean to terrify but DID. lmao but thank God, Jim Carrey's fantastic performance roped me into adoring this movie
I knew I wasn’t the only one that was scared of this movie! My babysitter wanted to put it on for me after school, but I took one look at the cover with the creepy smile and ran out screaming. I couldn’t watch it properly until I was like 11 or 12
This was wonderfully done by the great Jim Carrey as The Grinch! I’ve visited the Universal backlot on several occasions and I can see how vibrant and decorative the set is for Whoville.
I always loved live action films so seeing this brings a smile to my face cause I did feel like the cartoon was a bit short & I love in depth stories & how the characters are who they are. 🌲

I can't help but love this movie. I know a lot of people don't like it because it's not really that faithful to the original, but Jim really sells it as the Grinch and he is by far the best part of the movie. I know it has it's faults (particularly the whos looking like albert e neuman) but it is still one of y favorites (also, that scene where Jim knocks that stuff off the table was improvised as all the stuff was supposed to fall off when he took off the sheet, but they accidentally didn't fall, so he decided to go and knock them off)
I can’t believe you’ve never seen the Grinch! It’s my favourite Christmas movie - so good and timeless. Love your videos! Keep up the great work and keep smiling. You brighten my days x
Ugh, you ALWAYS nail your reactions! Thanks Nick! This was a classic in my house growing up, and it’s awesome to see someone get to experience it for the first time!
excuse me where have you been in 2000- this movie is my favorite Grinch movie I can watch it through the entire year, seriously I can watch it in February and feel the Christmas spirit, it's my favorite holiday I am so happy you are reacting to this, you will not be disappointed :)
I can't get enough of this movie! I know every single line, and laugh at the same jokes. The tablecloth trick that wasn't scripped is way too hilarious. And then The Grinch's schedule... it was all from Jim Carrey's mind. They let him do pretty much whatever he wanted 🤣
The 2018 version of the Grinch is amazing! It does explore The Grinch's past more and it explains why he is who he is! And the animators did an incredible job 😊
This movie terrified me as a child so much that I’ve refused to watch it even as an adult, but I guess I can get through a reaction of it for you Nick 😅
When this came out I never saw it because I loved the original animated one so much. I finally caved in when I was I think in high school and I've loved it ever since. It's so quotable, hilarious, and heartfelt. I love that Grinch got depth and a good backstory.
If The Grinch was real, could he steal the Declaration of Independence, Famous Art and maybe anything in the world? I’m asking because people say he’s a master thief.
When the Grinch says "Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store, maybe it means a little bit more." Then starts sobbing, I ugly cry to that every year. This movie really is my favorite Christmas movie EVER!
I think you would like Klaus! It's on Netflix and it's a wonderful animated movie ^_^ It's pretty new but has easily become a tradition to watch with my parents every year. (The 4 Christmas movies we watch every year are Love Actually, The Holiday, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (this version), and Klaus)
Thee was a lot of problems on the set of this movie as Jim Carrey got into arguments with Ron Howard on the make up process which took 4 hours to apply every day, and Carrey threatened to quit production.
It wasn't the length of the process itself, they had to get a CIA coach to teach Jim Carrey how to handle pain as the costume caused him extreme discomfort. He sat between takes hitting his thigh, holding a long cigarette holder to not put fire to his costume as he chain-smoked saying "Do it for the children", to at all get through making the movie.
Thanks, Nick! ❄️ Since you love movies displaying the yuletide spirit, I recommend LOVE ACTUALLY (2003), CHRISTMAS IN CONNECTICUT (1945), BAD SANTA (2003), A CHRISTMAS STORY (1983), WHITE CHRISTMAS (1954), THE SHOP AROUND THE CORNER (1940), SCROOGE (1951) and most of all... IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE (1946).
Jim Carrey as the Grinch is a riot! I always get a good laugh from his performance in this film. While I do enjoy this adaptation to How the Grinch Stole Christmas from time to time, my all time favorite version is the classic, 2D animated film from 1966.🙂
ayooo thank you so much for brightening my days! your reactions are incredible, I love to watch your videos even when I do my homework or rest after so much stress, thank you so much bro
One of the best lines in this movie is where he's going through the ledger of Whos, "Alexander Carmen Who, I hate you. Barbra Vivian Who, I hate you." Finger stabbing down the page, "Hate, hate, hate, double hate, LOATHE ENTIRELY!" Hilarious, and one of my favorites.
I absolutely love Christmas it’s that time of year where you get to hang out family, and watch so many great movies drinking hot chocolate it’s my favorite part of the year
It's heartbreaking when you think of why Max is so loyal to the Grinch. You remember that he gets all of his stuffs from the dump so it's a huge possibility that Max was a gift/present to someone from Whoville who then threw him away. So the Grinch found him and took him in. That's why Max is such a loyal dog to him. And plus, Max is much needed to keep the Grinch grounded.
I remember when this came out. in Spain we had never seen any cartoons of the grinch (i think we still havent got them on tv ever), so imagine this being the firs time you see this "grinch" thing. it was amazing and super fun
I'd love it if you watched the Chronicles of Narnia, the lion the witch and the wardrobe! It's way more high fantasy but it takes place during Christmas and has some gorgeous winter weather. A Christmas story is a fun classic as well!
Beetlejuice is my go to Halloween movie. No question, no argument, it is a fantastic, hilarious Halloween movie. That being the case, The Grinch with Jim Carrey is my go to Christmas movie. I love, love, LOVE this movie! Carrey was in prime form from start to finish, and it will *always* land a direct hit to the funny bone. He seemed like he was having a lot of fun. And he really sells the character. Fun fact, it took *eight and a half* hours to get Jim Carrey into his costume. So one day, towards the end of the filming, much of the cast got done up in the makeup and hair to show they appreciated the effort he'd gone to for the role. My favorite line in the entire movie was when he was flying the sleigh for the first time. "WE'RE GONNA DIE! WE'RE GONNA DIE! I'm going to throw up. AND THEN I'M GONNA DIIIIIIEEEE!" The whole sequence just leaves me in stitches. (Edit: I'd gotten the time it took to get Jim Carrey into his makeup and costume wrong, by a lot)
My favourite line of the movie is and always will be: "Santa? Whats Christmas really about?" "VENGEANCE! I mean...presents..." I love the original Grinch animated film, but I thought that this was a fine remake. The Grinch's reasons for hating Christmas in this version are fair. The recent animated film from a year or two back unfortunately took away most of his hatred of people and made him just disliking Christmas rather than hating it.
Nick was laughing super hard at so many parts of the movie which I don't blame him because I was laughing just as much I think the Grinch is probably the most funniest character of the entire movie 😂😅
Jim is great in this movie but props to Rob Howard for bringing whoville to life. This genuinely feels like the cartoon came to life and it’s such a testament to Ron’s talent and love for the original work. Jim is also great. This is my favorite Christmas movie. It always makes me feel warm and cozy. “The sleigh, the presents. They’ll be destroyed, and I care! What is the deal?!” Might be my favorite part of this movie. He’s so confused. 😂
Oh yay so happy to see you react to this it's been one of my absolute favorite Christmas films since it came out 20 years ago. I watch it every year at least 3 times 😳 this and home alone 1 and 2 is a must for me on Christmas
I love this movie so much! Even though I love Christmas, I relate to the Grinch so much. Lol. This and National Lampoons Christmas Vacation are my two favourite Christmas movies that I could watch again and again and never tire of.
Nick as an avid viewer of your reactions there are two Christmas movies I would love to see you react to. The first is Scrooge from 1970 and Netflix's Klaus. I assure you that these two Christmas films will be worth your while.
I knew you were going to react to a dr. Seuss live action movie even though I thought you were going to do the cat in the hat but the grinch was perfect for now since Christmas is coming up and I can’t wait for Christmas
I love this movie so much. Such a great version and a wonderful christmas movie. So quotable to. xD "Bleeding hearts of the world, unite!" "I'm speaking in rhymes!!!" Dx "We're gonna die! We're gonna die! I'm gonna throw up! And then I'm gonna die!" xD
It’s kind of funny because Jim Carrey not only has played the Grinch but he also played Scrooge in the animated Disney Christmas Carol in like 2009 or 2010. Then he also voices Horton in the movie adaptation of Horton Hears A Who, which funnily enough involves the Whos. Quite a few parallels here.
I have his to do list on a tshirt. I love it so much 'Even if I wanted to go my schedule wouldn't allow it. 4:00, wallow in self pity; 4:30, stare into the abyss; 5:00, solve world hunger, tell no one; 5:30, jazzercize; 6:30, dinner with me - I can't cancel that again; 7:00, wrestle with my self-loathing... I'm booked." 🤣
I got to watch this reaction when I woke up this morning, eating my breakfast and drinking coffee. This is the first Christmas movie I have watched this year to get ready for the holidays and I am excited to see your reaction. Love how much it made you laugh, one of the funniest Christmas movies in my opinion, but with so much heart and a great soundtrack! Thanks, you always make me smile when I watch your content.
Honestly, I love Christmas too! I love it for spending time with family, as well as it also celebrating the birth of Christ. Either way, I loved this adaptation of The Grinch. I never saw Cat In The Hat that came out a few years later, but only because of hearing that it wasn’t all that great. Anyway, Jim Carrey put out a fantastic performance as the title character. I would say that he, along with Steve Carrell, and Robin Williams are some of my favorite comedic actors. I also loved the relationship between the Grinch, and Cindy Lou (and not to mention Martha near the end). Well, I’m glad that you enjoyed this film. I look forward to rewatching it fairly soon myself.
When I was little and the Grinch came out in Theatres, I got so scared of the part where he wrapped Cindy-Lou Who up in the gift wrapping that I ran straight out to the family car and locked all the doors. LOL. I like the movie now. LOL
This is my favorite Christmas movie! I'm so happy you reacted to it! Jim Carrey wasn't used a prosthetic face, he had full control over his muscles in his face. He made the face during an interview for Sonic! Aloha from Hawaii!
Besides the 60's animated Grinch my favourite Christmas movies/specials: Rudolph: The Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty The Snowman, A Garfield Christmas (that one always makes me cry actually), Christmas Vacation, Jingle All The Way, Muppet Christmas Carol, Santa Claus: The Movie (not to be confused with the Tim Allen trilogy), Home Alone 1 & 2, and not Christmas but watched around this time of year: Cool Runnings. I'd love to see a reaction to some of these.
Taylor Momsen who plays Cindy Loud is in the band The Pretty Reckless which I had NO idea that was her! I listened to them all through high school and didn't know
I’m quite late to the party here, but I found this video today and it’s just so wholesome 😭 (TMI, but I lost a elderly pet today and your contagious giggling really helped in cheering me up, so thank you very much for making this!)
The Grinch had a huge point ya know? A lot of people do throw away their gifts or even re-gift them cuz they don’t like their gifts. It’s honestly saddening the fact that Christmas is promoted mainly as just gift giving more than family time.
Hey everyone hope you enjoyed the reaction! See you next for a surprise movie and Ratatouille! Hint: Surprise movie is a Christmas animated movie!
Is it The Grinch with Bendict
Cumberbatch?
Hello Nick, have you seen the movie: Krampus?, if not maybe you’ll consider reacting to it? And on a none Christmas related movie note I think you would enjoy the movie: Quest for Camelot.

It's on Netflix and it's a wonderful animated movie ^_^
It's pretty new but has easily become a tradition to watch with my parents every year.
I remembered when Jim was reportedly claustrophobic in the Grinch suit, but how he managed to overcome it was with the training of a Navy SEAL.
@@haexan Yeah, he literally had torture training.
@@haexan Well look how fantastic it turned out! I'm glad he kept going.
While I do enjoy this adaptation to How the Grinch Stole Christmas from time to time, my all time favorite version is the classic, 2D animated film from 1966.🙂
THANK YOU NICK I LOVED THIS MOVIE WHEN I WAS YOUNGER!!!
This, Elf, Home Alone 1&2 and Polar Express are my favorite Christmas movies to watch every year.
You need to watch either Elf or Home Alone next.
he seen both
Grinch: Taxi!
*Taxi drives away*
Grinch: It's because I'm green, isn't it?
Me:🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Anthony Hopkins narrated this. Also, the glass he was eating was actually sugar shaped into a bottle. The woman playing Martha is Christine Baranski.
"Blast this Christmas music... it's joyful AND triumphant!" is my favorite line.
This movie is part of what my family calls "The Holiday Comedy Trio", which we watch every year around Christmas time. We laugh every time
If grinch is one of them what’s the other two
@@isaquinos_vlogs Home Alone and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Did you know that there is a home alone movie called home alone the holiday heist
ayooo thank you so much for brightening my days! your reactions are incredible, I love to watch your videos even when I do my homework or rest after so much stress, thank you so much bro
I love how excited Nick got watching Martha May put up the lights. So cute 😍Love your videos Nick
I love how you're doing reactions to classics like this!
I absolutely love Christmas it’s that time of year where you get to hang out family, and watch so many great movies drinking hot chocolate it’s my favorite part of the year
I'd love to see you react to beauty and the beast the enchanted Christmas on here, it's my favorite Christmas movie ever!
My favorite part is when he says "I'm leaking!" lol. It's such a great movie though!
I'd love it if you watched the Chronicles of Narnia, the lion the witch and the wardrobe! It's way more high fantasy but it takes place during Christmas and has some gorgeous winter weather.
A Christmas story is a fun classic as well!
I’ve seen Narnia many times, love it!
@@nickflix8657 have you considered reacting to Frozen and Frozen 2?
My favourite line of the movie is and always will be:
"Santa? Whats Christmas really about?"
"VENGEANCE! I mean...presents..."
I love the original Grinch animated film, but I thought that this was a fine remake.
Marry Christmas nick 👍👍🙂🙂😊😊 🎄🎄🎄🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🌨️❄️❄️🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎁🎁🎁🎁.
What is the deal?!”
Might be my favorite part of this movie. He’s so confused. 😂
If you notice Martha wearing ornament Grinch gave her Christmas
Oh yay so happy to see you react to this it's been one of my absolute favorite Christmas films since it came out 20 years ago. I watch it every year at least 3 times 😳 this and home alone 1 and 2 is a must for me on Christmas
I love this movie so much! Even though I love Christmas, I relate to the Grinch so much. Lol. This and National Lampoons Christmas Vacation are my two favourite Christmas movies that I could watch again and again and never tire of.
A Christmas Story (1983) and Grumpy Old Men (1993) are my go to holiday movies
Nick as an avid viewer of your reactions there are two Christmas movies I would love to see you react to. The first is Scrooge from 1970 and Netflix's Klaus. I assure you that these two Christmas films will be worth your while.
I knew you were going to react to a dr. Seuss live action movie even though I thought you were going to do the cat in the hat but the grinch was perfect for now since Christmas is coming up and I can’t wait for Christmas
I'm sure I've seen this movie more than 30 times, not always at Christmas, because I'm not even 20.
i've seen home alone five times a year. Three during the summer.
I still love how during the scene were the Grinch is making Max into reindeer, he actually is poking fun at the director 😂😂😂
I love this movie so much. Such a great version and a wonderful christmas movie. So quotable to. xD
"Bleeding hearts of the world, unite!"
"I'm speaking in rhymes!!!" Dx
"We're gonna die! We're gonna die!
How The Grinch Stole Christmas is my favorite Christmas movie.
There’s an extended TV version which airs ALMOST every year on Freeform. There are some deleted scenes that I think it’s the director’s cut.
@@psppsnews7044 Santa Baby 2: Christmas Maybe (2008) with Jenny McCarthy. It says in the comments.
I love it
Taylor Momsen who plays Cindy Loud is in the band The Pretty Reckless which I had NO idea that was her! I listened to them all through high school and didn't know
I’m quite late to the party here, but I found this video today and it’s just so wholesome 😭
(TMI, but I lost a elderly pet today and your contagious giggling really helped in cheering me up, so thank you very much for making this!)
12:43 Also the actress who did Cindy Lou Who is now a lead singer of a rock band known as "The Pretty Reckless"
The Grinch had a huge point ya know? A lot of people do throw away their gifts or even re-gift them cuz they don’t like their gifts. It’s honestly saddening the fact that Christmas is promoted mainly as just gift giving more than family time.
I also love how the grinch was a brilliant inventor.
The way the Grinch is acting like a director is supposed to be a parody of the director
