- Abandoned Tequila Bar Y Grill - Weatherford, TX. In this video we take a look at this old and former Denny's Classic Diner which became a family run business once Denny's closed and relocated. Unfortunately this business did llnot last and now the property sits here slowly falling apart. With how busy this area of Weatherford is I'm surprised nothing has repurposed this building yet. Hopefully soon.

Hey they had great food and live music...hence the add on to the old Denny's Building
Thanks for Sharing This Abandoned Video Wallie, Hope You Guys are Having Good Night. Thank You so Much for Watching!!!
this was one of our top places to go, we are still in mourning, another sad victim of the plague
I live in Weatherford and I never ate there when it was Dennys or the Taquila bar. I like Dennys, so idk why I never went in there. Just took for granted it would be there when I decided to go. Now it's gone. Wish it would come back. I'm not a drinker so the tequila bar never appealed to me. Pretty cool seeing videos of things in my home town.
Now there’s commercials two minutes into videos, as if they weren’t parasitic enough. Always enjoy watching, thanks Wallie 👍
Yo this Is so cool to me, I actually live In Weatherford and sometimes drive by that building. Its cool to see someone covering an abandon building In Weatherford out of all places. Also If you are interested, I'm pretty sure there was a movie theater that got closed down about a year ago that Isn't to far from where that building Is. The movie theater Is called City Lights and Its In Hudson Oaks. But cool video 👍
Still abandoned
I worked here for like 8 months, it was amazing food. The manager is an amazing lady! The food was great! They definitely had a hell of a manager and kitchen staff!! I worked her in 2016.
Love your abandoned place exploration! Watch all your vids and plan on visiting some of these when I'm older if they're still there.
They closed around the beginning of Covid... Unfortunately .. This was a awesome restaurant!
Awesome Wallie
I love these classic dinners. You don’t see them anymore unfortunately.
It was built in the late 1990's. My friends and I would meet there every Friday for breakfast before school. I remember when it opened.
I do like your sears and Kmart video!
It looks like a brand new building
I enjoy your videos
Hi 👋 i like your new video 👍
Have a really-far-back-trailer-licious day
wallie I love the awesome content
😀 as always , enjoyed much
I love the videos and man for real
Good to see another one of your fabulous videos of abandoned building like the store, restaurant, ECT. Thanks for sharing this video Wallie, hi Kayla 👋😎👍👍📸🙏
Goodvideo reminds me of the one mall aholic did a few weeks ago.
That dinner shape looks like the threegills dinner
As always great video. 👍
They had really good food (Best lamb I have eaten) and good live entertainment but could not get the staff to stay open. It was not lack of customers, they were packed!
Sad but during the last 2 years restaurants who couldn't/wouldn't add a take out counter were doomed. Thanks for the video Wallie! ❤👍
I worked there, we did takeout
Wallie, abandoned building former Denny's next to a Motel 6 in Addison Texas . Near Midway and Beltline behind a tattoo place, across from Osaka restaurant and Olive garden
I know this building was closed and abandoned in 2018. Not sure when it closed
Hey wallieb26 it's unfortunate that the old K-Mart's stores can't be reused for new things as well, like turn them into Walmart neighborhood markets or something
The K-mart in muncie IN is a storage place and U-Haul. So some K-marts do get reused as others business.
That was the 1st Denny's. In between it was another restaurant. I think it was called Momma's. The front originally was a covered patio and eventually was made indoor dining. I ate there once but wasn't impressed. Like El Fenix better.
The 2nd Denny's became a Nashville Hot Chicken.
First dennys location?
@@commandertoucan8975 we had 2 different Denny's open up here. This building was their 1st attempt. It lasted less than a year. Then closed. A few years later they opened a 2nd one a mile down the road. Weatherford had 2 different Denny's.
Closed for good in November of 2020. It did reopen after closing for COVID.
Interesting architecture on this one.
I work in a restaurant we are going to have a hiring freeze no new hires till October we have spent to much on hiring and training. Our turnover is to high we hire spend time and money 💴 training then they quit after 2 or 3 days we can no longer afford to do this.
The place you are at in this video at one time was a Denny's which closed and Year later built another Denny's over by Belk and that closed also
Wow I remember this place when I move to weatherford.i went because they sold alcohol.but it was a nice looking place sad that it close .
Sorry I meant to say because they sold alcohol I didn't go.but the building was a nice place to look at.
I live in Weatherford, and i never went. Always had varied reviews on service and food quality.
0:30 In the background there was a Walmart truck. ^^
It actually used to be a Dixie road house before it Tequila. But they closed down because they had to many drunken fights in the parking lot. That and it’s in a bad location with a billion other restaurants. One just across the parking lot.
Buc-ee's hat is kinda fire
I actually use to work there when tequila bar y grill was open that was my last job before I moved from Weatherford
There food was not bad. I would like to meet y’all. Live in Weatherford area.
Weatherford still has great places to eat .even had Golden Corral until the health department closed
Them down a few years ago.
You should look at the abandoned Goodwill, Little Caesars, and Gordon food market in gaylord Michigan after a tornado, the buildings are still up but are soon to be demolished cuz they are still repairing the hobby lobby and Jimmy johns
Just drove by there last night. I don’t remember it being a Denny’s. We have never had a Denny’s in Weatherford.
It's opened back up now. They had the grand opening about a month ago
Always wanted to eat there. Never got a chance to.
When watching this and seeing the name of restaurant, I can only think of the Tequila Song by the Champs and PeeWee Herman dancing to it.
Update: That place is occupied again. It is now Fire Pit Bar & Grill
It closed down in 2021, it has changed hands several times over the past 10 yrs or so. We never did eat there, though.
Ate there once in 2017. My wife got sick, and we never went back.
Yeah it looked like awsome bar and restaurant covid killed alot of restaurants like Joe's crabs shacks restaurants and max and Emma closed ONLY two of them are open but franchise restaurants because corporate is no longer open also Bob Evans is also working they have shut down 170 and the corporate office is closed down in Ohio
👍🏻👍🏻
"La Quinta is Spanish for 'Next to Denny's'" - Mitch Hedberg. That original Denny's appears to have lacked it's supporting La Quinta.
Rule the roost
I ate there when it was a Denny's, and I ate there when it was the Tequila Bar Y Grill. Both times, the food was like sh!t, and the service was horrible. They both deserved to be closed.
It’s one of those places that no matter what’s built there is never lasts. Same thing anything built where Dunkin’ Donuts is in Weatherford. Nothing there ever lasted almost like it’s cursed or something. I lived there my whole life until recently and no business survived that location or where Dunkin’ Donuts is
KFC did good at the location where dunking is they didn't close just moved locations.
@@franckgrippon3198 they closed down for years and just recently rebuilt by race track
I'm from Weatherford but I had never ate there. I know someone that worked there though.
I ate here once in 2018 when I first moved nearby. The food was totally legit and priced well, but for some reason I never went back. My wife didn't like the looks of it and didn't want to go, and they had a sign inside that said bikers aren't allowed to wear their cuts (vests with patches) inside that made me think maybe it really wasn't my kind of place. In the 4 years since, I haven't seen a single biker wearing a cut in this town or heard of an instance of violence, so I have no idea what that was about.
The plywood in my opinion was a bit of a protest. They originally had a big banner that it was closed due to government imposed covid restrictions or whatever. I can't see any legitimate need to board up some windows and not others. But the windows in the add-on were a different type, not the solid glass like the others. So maybe I'm all wrong and there was a reason for it.
I'll be surprised (pleasantly) if anything goes in there. The corporate places would just bulldoze it and build new, and one-off places are probably much fewer than before Covid. There's also a lot of empty lots and other buildings available on I-20 here.
You should have called the realtor, I bet they would let you in to look around. Might help sell it. :D
They had a few issues with bikers in the past, they decided it was for the best to stop any colors being worn inside. It helped keep the riff raft away. I served there for a while, mostly saw the same faces every day. They made most of their money off of regulars
Also the boards were added on the outside of just a screen mesh. It was a smoking area in the add on

I LIVE THERE
I live in weatherford tx
That location is cursed. Nothing that has gone in there has survived. Not that bad of a location, but Denny's failed, then something else went in and closed and then Tequila failed. Just not sure why nothing can survive there. I ate there a couple of times. Food was good and decent service.
its only been closed for a year at most almost now. Karaoke nights live music. it was ok. Great place to get trashed honestly. 😂
That’s a goofy place
I pass this place all the time. It's just a bad spot for a restaurant
Did you guys do this one when it was abandoned Dennys?.....I know you did the other Dennys up the street that closed...that whole area is dead zone for restaurants
What is tequila bar y grill
2nd
you should get footage of dollar tree in edgewood ky before they tear it down at the old kmart. its gonna be gone soon. their tearing the building down in the next 6 months. i work there. its a epic store. i hate to see it shut down but its going to happen. You did a youtube on the kmart. mise well do a dollar tree one. fully stocked but its gonna happen. edgewood council approved everything. to put a super krogers there. so were moving to erlanger
wford gang
also it was bad food
Could be a great BBQ bikini bar, hwy, truckers $$$
The pandemic killed it in 2020 sadly. What they did to it ruined the old black and pink.
Wallie should I quit you tube some people think my train collection pop over night I den collection four long time I just no what to do like you’re videos
Pandemic killed that place
If I had the money I would by it and make it a pay as u can restaurant. For low income and anyone who wishes to eating healthy there. All homemade cooking and only fresh organic fruits and veggies. No processed foods or canned food. No alcohol attacks all. Good for heath nuts and vegans. I would air fry most everything, toast breads. Would have non GMO,and glutton free stuff. No sugary sweets. Everything ha d made. My dream
Covid BS closed it
