- Abandoned Dairy Queen / Shell - Itasca, TX. Enjoy a look at this retro former Dairy Queen that still had its character all these years after closing. The Shell, I suspect moved across the road to a bigger and better station and store hence leaving this one behind.

Nice Two Different Abandoned Places Wallie Hope You Keep Making Awesome Everyday. Thank You for Watching!!!
Ah yes, the old Dairy Queen and Big B's Travel Stop (fka Handy's) locations. I remember coming here alot in my childhood. Very nostalgic. Thanks for doing a walk thru. 🙂👍👍
@Texas Rancher Use to be a Valero truck stop but the name was called "Stars and Stripes". I forget what the restaurant/cafe was called. Been about 6 years since it was removed.
as someone who spent my childhood going to this exact dairy queen its cool seeing inside it again
Itasca is beautiful! I would never have guessed what this was on my drives thru Itasca as it's either late at night or early in the morning when I drive thru but good video wallie.
Excellent video Wally 🎉and cheers to the truckers for sure- check out the blow fly songs “Convoy” and “rap dirty”😂
Grocery rewards was likely Kroger. I know here in Cincy, many Shells partner with Kroger to use the Kroger Plus fuel points for discounted gas.
I really enjoy videos of old gas stations: that Dairy Queen has some character.
i live in itasca and it’s nice to know people actually notice this town still
The Dairy Queen where I live closed up close to four decades ago and has been reporposed into a local restaurant.
Another Dairy Queen in Saugerties closed over three decades ago, demolished and will now be a Starbucks.
Most gas stations in New York are usually repurposed into another gas brand.
Glad you did a video on those places. We always see them on the way to visit my wife's family that live north of Austin. There might be an abandoned building that is on the opposite side of 35W. I think right around Itasca.
I’ve lived in Itasca since I was born!
There’s a recently abandoned Walmart in Louisville you could explore. They have all the shelves in the place
Really very old Dairy Queen, convenience store, and gas pumps! I grew up with them vintage stores! Wow!! ❤ I enjoyed this video, too! It was awesome! Thank you so much!
In Texas - it would not be a “grill n chill” - all dq’s in Texas are restaurants with a different menu from the national chain. Ice cream is secondary. They’ve fallen behind some of their competitors, but it used to hill itself as the Texas stop sign they were so ubiquitous.
Awesome Wallie
What a cool find, Wallie! I really like old abandoned gas stations! I like Dairy Queen. Yes, Dairy Queen is a fast food restaurant, but they have good burgers and chili dogs and their ice cream is really good, i.e. blizzards, sundaes, etc. I really like their round ice cream sandwiches. Here in Weirton,WV, on Three Springs Drive, we have a Dairy Queen and it's the Grill and Chill, where you can get a full meal and ice cream treats. Have a Dairy Queenlicious Day!
Well done as always Wallie! Stay awesome!
I love your videos! Thank you for all that you do!!
very cool wallie i love the vintage abandoned places thanks for sharing
You should have seen the old Dairy Queen in Azle, TX that closed in 2021, shortly before it was demolished last year.
Wow, I never thought Itasca is this pretty!
Hows it going Wallie great job keep them cleared out!!!!!
Awesome video with a beautiful sunset in Texas 👍😎🇺🇸🌑
Wow that is vintage! Very cool!
I always look forward to your videos
Crispy Krunchy chicken is a brand sold exclusively in gas station grills. Brock Junction sold it also. They've actually sold several different ones. I haven't eaten it so I don't know how good it is.
I like Dairy Queen and they have good food ! We used to have a Dairy Queen, until it closed down and put a gas station in it's place.
Yay Wallie amazing video is out ☺️🙂😊😎
A another video from wallie 👏👏👏👏
Awesome video
Very cool
WallieB26, totally awesome and cool abandoned DQ and Shell! Really enjoyed your awesome and cool video!
Nice wallie I do miss Texas 😃
I never heard of 86.5 before
Cool video
We have one just like this. Don't see it sticking around too much longer because it's right next to Bucees
Quite a while ago shell had an agreement w Kroger. You could use 100 grocery points and save 10 cents a gallon on your gas at shell. I was in Houston when that was in play.
Stay gold pony boy! That sunset!
The sunset was pretty
Awesome
That shell kinda did something similar to what a shell here in my town did, there was a shell on a intersection then then the intersection when through a big expansion so they demolished the shell and it moved to a different intersection by the highway that passes the road it has not closed since it has good service and it have many more pumps
There’s an abandoned DQ in Pleasanton, TX and McAllen, TX
Krispy Krunchy some good chicken bro and that installation on the floor from the ceiling falling down
The Grocery Reward for Shell is from Winn-Dixie
Some areas have Kroger and some have Winn-Dixie and in areas that have Kroger and Winn Dixie they have both
I like it your video 👍
Go to Henderson TX if you want to see(what I believe) is the last open FINA gas station that didn't turn into ALON. If your as big into gas stations as me then it's a must to check out.
Grocery rewards was likely Kroger. There more then anything thanks for sharing this video wallie :D
Over here we have reward points on grocery discount cards for discounts on gas at circle k. That chicken is sold at a Chevron station here.
This my hometown
Good video! An abandoned Dairy Queen and Shell/Truck stop place!! That looks in pretty bad shape. I wonder if both places are just used for storage!
Dude they had a ty display!
In Indy Kroger has rewards you can use at shell for gas discounts
Dairy Queen in Itasca Texas was not a Grill and chill
Reward points are most likely Albertsons or Shaws if any in that area
That sonic that is connected to shell. Cool. Do they have tables to sit at inside? Most Michigan sonics you eat in your car I believe
I remember a old Gaston in Tennessee it had every single thing in the story part it was years ago
We have an abandoned dq here in Bradford pa
Yes it was a shell's store you can see it on Google maps
I remember when dairy Queen use to sell breakfast in the day
There's always that 9-yr old that goes, "FiRsT" Like, Nobody cares nor asked dude. That doesn't even matter. That's not a good thing. You don't get a medal for making the 1st one in the comment section. Those kind of people are fatherless 5 - year old switch no life who don't touch grass and don't know what a tree is. ----___----
I live in Itasca someone has been working on that old Dairy Queen.
Lawn mower inside is for cutting the grass
The Dairy Queen is now Aralyn's Breakfast and Burritos
Bruh no way...I stopped to take pictures of that place a couple months ago... I saw the thumbnail as was like, why do I know that place?? I didn't even know what town we were in but I know thats the one.
Cool video! Never seen a Dairy Queen with a gas station!
