I remember the old BP logo, and like you it amazes me how grass or weeds can push their way up thru blacktop. 5 years later and I'm still trying to catch up on your videos ...lol
Back around 1993, I filled up at a BP around this time of the year. They had a toy tanker truck for sale that was batter operated like the Hess truck. How I wish I had bought one as I'm sure they are a collector's item today.
Great video! Old gas stations are fun to look at, sadly the are no BP or gulf here in utah. But then again, this region in the west is all Maverik, 7 11 , Chevron, texaco, local refinery Sinclair of course, and some local ones scattered about
It is quite the opposite - BP, Chevron and others Acquired Gulf. Gulf was a staple in my hometown where I grew up and the last time I was down, around 2015-2016, the original family-owned Gulf Station was still sporting the Gulf Logo. It hasn't been open to the public since the 1980's but it is considered a Historical Landmark so it is been preserved. I'll have to grab a pic if possible next time I'm down. When Target bought out Zellers in Canada, they sold some of the leases to Wal-Mart where they weren’t planning on opening stores. The current Wal-mart in Cole Harbour (coincidently where Sidney Crosby is from) has been there maybe 6 years, and the red Zellers paint on the doors is already showing through the Wal-Mart blue. Not gonna lie, anytime I go in there it makes me happy to see the red coming through those doors
We used to have a total of four BP gas stations in Wooster, Ohio, but now only two still carry the BP 'sunburst' signage (one of them was built as a Sohio). A third is now operating as a Gulf (yes, a Gulf!), and the fourth (one block south of where I lived from 1991-2016) carried the shield logo until it was demolished during the 2000s to make room for a Rite Aid... PARKING LOT! In addition, on Ohio Route 83 in the community of Moreland, south of Wooster, there is a building owned by a local towing company that may have been a Gulf at one time, because there is a two-sided Gulf sign on display out in front of the garage.
Very interesting - we had a BP near where I lived outside of Philadelphia but no Gulf. Here in SW Florida I think there is a BP but also no Gulf Station.
I have a BP from me that closed in the early 2000s.Right now, it is abandoned and boarded up and sitting empty. They tore everything down except the mart, which is boarded up.There is no BP signage to be seen.I wish I could film a BP, but there is no other empty ones by me,
Could've been a BP with Gulf pumps... sometimes convenience stores have different gas brands than what they are (for example, 7/11 used to have Citgo gas before they branded their gas as their own).
where i live we had an exon station that turned into a bp then turned into a 76 station. since it has been a 76 station it has changed hands a few times and had some sorta strange reasons as to why it got worked on pump/tank wise several times in the last few years.
"Bloody Pathetic"that's what I call BP miss our old Cleveland,Ohio based Standard Oil of Ohio SOHIO.Around here the ones like this one not permanently closed now are 7~11s.Ironically Wallie Gulf Oil Co.used to be based in Pittsburgh under the corporate name of Gulf & Western even had a motion pictures arm🎦Weird combination Oil & Motion pictures/TV shows production.😎Wallie luv ya baby come to Hollywood🎥We can rename the town WALLYWOOD ⭐
Hi i am from Cape Breton Canada we did have Gulf and Texaco at one time but in the earley 90's they all switched to Ultramar and they used to be gass and grage now just gass and convenience store. I do like ur videos get some food lol...

Canopy and supports look like style of 90s BP (pre logo change)
Nice! A couple years ago in my town, a Texaco ran out of business and a Gulf gas station moved in.
Someone bought this and it is now a used car place
If I would have been there, I would have put the 0 and the 4 in the sign and just be like "40 cents for a gallon when there is no pumps!"

Kevin Baker BP's are everywhere here in Michigan still.
Good narrator you are!
Hi Wallie, Great observation about this gas stations history.
I saw a KFC restaurant in the background, I hope you went there.
Gulf/Sohio/Boron brands were purchased by Bp Exploration

I remember seeing an oldschool one on the other side of town in Manahawkin, NJ. I think it sat abandoned for a while too if I'm not mistaken
I remember it was a BP until it closed in the early 2000s
Good job
Wow, that’s awesome!!
We didn't have Bps in our area (Oklahoma)
