Thank God for our lineman who are trained for storm troubles. My grandson does this. He has to be in call to be ready when they give him a storm call. Please pray for God's protection for these brave men.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! We have been trying reach our elderly lady friend on Hartzog Ford and saw her in your video! Now we know she out of power but okay! Bless you!!
Yes, for sure. The crews that come from many states can work amazingly well together. They never seem to get much recognition for what they do in the extreme conditions. Thankyou.
Thank you for posting this. -I am an Ashe County native and resident and also a teacher at the middle school near the high school filmed at the beginning of your video in Traphill. God Bless you. ❤
@AlanHowellphotovideo Oh that's a Relief! Thank you for letting me know! I just know sometimes that people won't take the time or have the compassion to help a animal. Happ to know the dog belongs to you and not a misplaced pet!
My Heart Goes out to All These people in North Carolina I am In Texas My prayers go up for All These people that Lost everything 😞 Father God Be with all of them 🙏🕊️✝️🕊️🙏
You folks traveling through and filming thus are doing a great thing. It's important to let those of us outside of the area see what's going on, and all of this footage will be important for posterity.
Thank you for the updates. My husband's family is from the mountains in Morganton area and as long as he's been alive 53 years his family would go camping and fishing on the New River there at Crumpler. When out boys were small up until they were in High School, we'd take a couple of weeks in the summer and camp at New River Stare Park and rent canoes from NRO or Zazoos. Those mountains hold a lot of memories and love for us. We are thinking and praying for y'all up there
Thank you for the fantastic coverage of both the damage and the impact it's having on the communities there. This paints a clearer picture than lots of news broadcasts I've seen!
I used to live off 163 ..outside West Jefferson,Nikanor ridge I’m in shock…I can’t get a hold of my neighbour 😢. I’m 18 hour drive away in Ontario. My uncle is in pinehurst and my cousins are in Raleigh. Thanks for sharing this ..I’m coming down to help 🫡🇨🇦
I was living in Charlotte when hurricane Hugo came through years ago. The response from people there was the same as here in Ashe county - people pulled together and did the best they could to make sure everyone was OK, afterwards.
Thank you for doing this video. I live in Wilkes co, and haven't been out to see the damage. I was very lucky not to lose power. . We had just a few trees down.
Thank you for showing what my neck of the woods looks like post hurricane. I live about 5 miles as the crow files from the area of Hertzog Rd. in Ashe county that you showed, but haven't been there yet. Just want to say that there are pop up free food kitchens here in Ashe, organized by local people. The one I contributed home made soup to was open on the Sunday after the storm - it hadn't even stopped raining yet, and people were taking care of their neighbors. It's not surprising to me at all that local people are out there cleaning up. That just what we do here in the mountains. The full story is that mountain people just get right to it.
It's so sad, I heard many people lost their lives in this hurricane. I was sad also thinking about pets. I saw a small dog walking along a dirt road on one of the first houses filmed. It's really a heartbreaking 💔
🇨🇦 God bless all of You Wonderful People 🙏🏼 Sending prayers and praying more Help is on the Way! Ty for telling the real horror story with so much respect! Its just heartbreaking to see all of this Devastation 😢
I live in Greenville, SC. A lot of people here still don’t have power. I was very fortunate as were many of others in my city. I have never seen so many old oak and pine trees completely uprooted out of the ground. Power poles snapped completely in half. Power lines across the road. Stork happened early morning of Friday September 27th and we woke up at 4-5am to the loudest train sound we had ever heard which was winds. I definitely see areas where it looked like a tornado went through many many places. Some how I got power back on Friday the same day as the storm at 7:30 pm. There is people today Tuesday October 1 people are still without power and being told Friday October 4th. We got a decent bit of flooding but not nearly as bad as some places. The winds and what looks like paths where 20-30 tornadoes went that I saw. 10-20 large fully grown trees down in multiple areas. The media kept sending flood warnings but the winds and the trees falling on houses were worse than the floods here. I do feel awful for all the people in Western NC and Chimney Rock. It’s completely gone. Prayers to all.
And 2cd comment just want to say your are all in our prayers. I know in my city we have been gathering supplies at our local family dollar and stuff to try to help. Hopefully it will help and teach those in need
Thank you Thank you!!! 😢 my family is near there in troutdale and I'm praying these grown kids of mine will see: is time to PRAISE GOD for his protection and provision
Bless you for sharing this. I’m 💔for my friends and family. I moved from Yancey Co NC last year. My friends say there’s so much damage. I know folks are resilient and will work hard to recover… but this is beyond devastating. Prayers.
Grew up in Ashe, specifically Crumpler, Hoke Wagoner Rd. I still cant get ahold of most down there, thanks for sharing footage. Most news footage is out of Lansing only. My parents have gone up from Forsyth county to help and I havent been able to reach them since. They had to go in through Hillsville on 77 at the time.
I used to live near some of the areas you showed. We still have an old home place near the North Fork NR but I haven't been up there since the hurricane. Wouldn't be surprised if all the buildings on the property are destroyed or gone. Thanks for the video.
Im only partially through this snd ehile i truly appreciate you filming my former home of Ashe County i really hope you got footage of the worst parts in Landing snd Creston! There are still people who are trapped going on 5 days (?) and ive seen from locals videos and pictures and its so much worse than the beginning parts of your video. There were also houses and cars IN the river.
Todd & Fleetwood have difficulty because of damage to Railroad Grade Road. It is the main road. Can’t get out in some areas. Please pray for all those effected. It will be a year I would think before road fixed. They will have to dig out mountain in some places because the area damaged is on river bank. Can’t build up that side. The flood just washed out the dirt so road collapsed away on that side. The road was on edge off bank before. It is only a narrow road where it was hard for 2 cars to pass in some areas! One would have pull over with tire off road for other car to pass!
Wondering if Nix road in Hendersonville got flooded …I lived there for 3 years and have a lot of friends around there …it’s smack in the middle of Asheville and lake lure …and both were hit 😢 appreciate the info
Hi my name is Debbie we have very good friends up there that we cannot get ahold of they're like our family did you go in the area of Weaverville if you did how is it up there I have their address I just need to know they're okay if you can give me any information thank you God bless you
At 7:20-7:24 there is a big natural gas tank that probably weighs hundreds of pounds just tossed to the roadside from who knows where. Glad you’re showing some of the areas near where my mom’s house is, we didn’t get it as bad, but we aren’t close enough to any branches, rivers, or streams. 🙏
I live next to a creek. A levee broke quite few miles away. It really came up fast. Fire dept made us evac. It was 18" in my lower level. The whole area was flooded. By 6 that night, it was back in its banks. Even with tree uprooted across it. Weird how that can happen. 2 days later i mowed and it looked like nothing even happened. 2019. Still have my pics
Governor DeSantis is sending some of our national guard up you alls way to help out we are praying for you salt of the earth people in some of the prettiest area in the US been through many times
We are so grateful for his leadership in aiding us 🙏 also saw today he is sending 7500 ft of bridging materials. So many can only get out by helicopters. A local mule team has left my area and going into Weaverville, North of Asheville and plan to hit areas that are cut off to take supplies in and bring people out. So others are following that lead, with mules and trail horses.

Thanks for what you do!❤👍 In the video by the tree down on store, I noticed a dog out with you & if I’m not mistaken was it a Whippet!? I hope it was yours or I’ll have to get to NC somehow to try and find it!😬 That type of dog is one and many more, I’ve had for many yrs and the only kind to have! I wouldn’t want it in that devastation not to mention anything alive!

Thank you for showing this part of the state and especially for narrating the video.
I'm in Winston, and we missed the brunt of it. Thanks for providing these videos. Sorry to see my fellow North Carolinians suffering. Stay NC strong.

So wonderful of you to take and time to let all of have a better idea of what the current situations are. Thank you for all you’ve done.
Thanks for posting this very informative video.
It is inspiring to see how country folks come together versus the city folks during and after disasters !!!
Yes, I wish the national news would highlight that!
In my city people came together. All races and backgrounds serving the community.
I was living in Charlotte when hurricane Hugo came through years ago. The response from people there was the same as here in Ashe county - people pulled together and did the best they could to make sure everyone was OK, afterwards.
