- Ever wondered where the oldest Dairy Queen in Texas is located? Henderson is the proud home of the oldest operating DQ in the Lone Star State! Surely that's got to be on The Texas Bucket List!

Another certified Texas classic
Lol
From Minnesota.
@@triciajumonville7741 - The headquarters is located in Minnesota, but it is *from* Illinois actually. The state with the most Dairy Queens is Texas, but the state with the most Dairy Queens per person is Minnesota
I am 52 and to me there is still no better treat than a vanilla cone from Dairy Queen i know will be enjoying them for as long as i live : )
30 years ago, DQ was my first job when I was 16 in Carrizo Springs, TX. I still have the skills of the DQ Curl and making the cones the way I did at work. He’s right, once you learn, you never forget. Brings back some great memories! I love it! Makes me miss Home - Texas.
They just closed our local DQ here in northwest Louisiana. I'm 64 and my mom took us there when I was in elementary school. Gonna miss it. It was the first one to come to Louisiana if I'm not mistaken.
Awe. Well I'm glad that you have those good memories at least. Thanks for sharing it with us. GOD BLESS.
"...it fits everything but the bank!" 😂😂😂😂 I'm easily amused lol
Now do the OG Whataburger in Corpus Christi
Good old East TX..Home swt Home! Lots of DQ memories growing up💜💜
Don't ever quit doing these videos
We had an Elementary School teacher that would occasionally take us for ice cream cones at a Dairy Queen a few blocks away.
Love this Dairy Queen!!! Very unique and special!!
You can tell he is a true Texan. He didn’t mention a whataburger had to be in the town, he said DQ!
Most Texans don't claim whataburger anymore since they sold out and are no longer Texas based .....
Whataburger at least used to be Texan, Dairy Queen never was
@@lazygongfarmer2044 true but try going to any small town in Texas and try not to find a DQ lol
If a Texas town is big enough for a stoplight you can bet it has a DQ!
7th generation Texan here, and I know that Whataburger is Texan, DQ is from Minnesota. And when I was a little girl I actually got my chocolate dipped cones from the Henderson DQ when we were visiting my grandparents who lived there (and where my Daddy grew up).
Ahhhh…Speed-trap Henderson, I know it well. As for the DQ, it is sad that the old store could not have been saved.
Why is it “speed trap Henderson”?? If you don’t mind me asking
Jus slow down! Its not hard!!
Thanks for the memories!! My sisters and I used to walk to the DQ on Bowling Highway (I think) in Wharton, TX. We each got a chocolate-dipped cone and brought dad change from the dollar he gave us.
I'm from Texas but have lived in Jacksonville, FL since 1995. We have a Dairy Queen a few blocks away and I was disappointed when they didn't have the DQ Dude on the menu, and they'd never even heard of it.
I like Texas bucket list videos on RUclips from the imperial co California 👍
Makes me feel proud to be a Texan all over again! Very nice video.
Back in the ‘60’s there was a Tastee-Freez and Dairy Queen near us, no McDonald’s. Both had good food. Dip cones were such a treat. My parents were addicted to “Peanut Buster Parfaits”
Steak Fingers and Tacos are my favorites. Of course, you can't go wrong with the Hunger-buster.
Dairy Queen is a staple here in Texas. Interestingly,I was surprised to discover that not all locations offer breakfast, because the DQ in my little town does. The kids get biscuits or breakfast tacos on the way to school.
When I was a kid the DQ in my hometown had cheese enchiladas on the menu. Came with rice and beans. It was a favorite of mine as a little kid.
Back in the '70s my favorite was the "Hot Fudge Brownie Delight," I would have eaten that three times a day if I could.
That sound pretty good.
A great bucket list would be old Texas restaurants that are closed now. One was Essary’s dairy mart in Coleman, Tx. It closed at least 20 years ago. Mr. Essary is still living. It was the best burger joint I’ve eaten at. He had a deep fried taco that was awesome. Also, the old Mr. Burger chain. I remember them in Coleman & Brownwood.
Just seeing the old buildings and getting the info from the old owners would be neat.
Yup, Mr. Burger was an awesome restaurant chain.
Love it. Keep'm coming. 💯🤘🤘🤘🤘
🏆🏆🏆👍🇺🇲🙏
Thank you for sharing
Thank you too!
Love this channel! A daily watch.
I miss the old wooden store
Y'all always put on a great show 👍
Daily Queen, the ice cream and burger was the best, that’s to keeping history going.
We pass thru there at least once a year. Always get the steak fingers and an dipped ice cream cone.
Exactly what I get whenever I go to DQ. My 2 favorite items for decades now.
It about blew my girlfriend's mind to find out that they have Dairy Queens all over the country. I believe the first one came out of Illinois.
The DQ in Center is still the old original building , not even remodeled and still operating .
I ❤ DQ & TTBL!!
I really like the tacos there.
Can't go wrong, dining at the Texas Stop Sign.
Looks like they did a bad "re-model"....nothing classic looking about this DQ....great channel and DQ is an awesome place!
Certified Gold!!!!!
WOW. An actual ice box. LOL.
I believe Crockett is also one of the older Dairy Queen in Texas
That is very, VERY NICE, 😉😁👍🍭🍧🎂
Wish they could have kept up the old building, just modernize some of the equipment.
2:19-2:25
Always wondered that
The tacos my go to
Why don’t most of the small towns don’t have Whataburgers?
I miss the Beltbuster!
It’s Henderson, TX
I've been to a DQ in Texas that hadn't changed its look. I think they said they were 4th?
Why is he always winking.
They lost me when they took away tater tots.
You should go to Dave's Hot Chicken in Waco.
Just had DQ last night. I ordered the belt buster, and they put 4 patties on it. It was huge.
I live in KY now, having moved from E. Texas in 2000. There is no Beltbuster or Dude up here. 😒😒
@@patricksmith3316 aww man! Sorry to hear, but this I my first time hearing about "the dude". Never had one.
@@johntmasseyjr it's a great little steak sammich. I used to eat the daylight out of them at the Crockett DQ.
McCart location Fort Worth. Go there. Your order will be wrong. And if your number 4 in the drive thru expect 25 minute wait. Spoiler: Staff is all Black
They destroyed it and renovated it...
Good story. But I have pay? I/m on a fixed income
Other than blizzards, DQ has turned to garbage. We used to have a Dq with a walk up window, but sadly it closed 20 years ago.
DQ is not Texan
