Midnight's Edge started as a channel for gritter comics and Andre is a big fan of Conan. This is ME legacy. The continuous coverage and dedication to informing everyone about Robert E Howard in print or film is greatly appreciated. Cheers.
Feels like Conan is in the right hands & the true fans will have our hero with us every month. And a BIG thanks to Andre for all the work you do for us! Respect & all the glory to you Brother Andre!
Awesome. I loved the first interviews with Fredrick and Jim Zub. As someone who recently gotten into reading Conan(and Sword and Sorcery) I'm excited to see where Conan goes. Because Conan as a TV series would be so awesome. Just look at the HBO animated series, Primal or Spartacus?
Great interview as always, Andre! I’m hopeful for the comic’s future under Titan. Still holding out for an Epic TV series - Mr. Malmberg, please make it happen!
loved watching this. Your reviews and interviews of Jim Zub's Conan runs over at Marvel got me to collect all the trades. And it's a damn good time. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, Andre!
My jaw dropped as the many layers of this video unfolded. Been a long time fan of Conan in the 70's and the realities of parenthood in the 80's caused me to drift away. I've been rereading the 70's Marvel era again thanks to reprints [I could never replace the original ones I had] and all those memories of what he meant to me, especially the books of the 60's, has me feeling younger and wanting more. Now you're telling me that there will be so much more for the fans, made by fans, and I can't be any happier. Who would have ever thought that Crom would show us mortals mercy? Thank you for this video.
Now THESE are the best Midnight's Edge's episodes!! Just Andre and great interviews like this. Especially about one of the biggest, most iconic characters of literature - Conan! Been reading the comics since 1971, which led to the reading of ALL of REH'S novels. Same with Tarzan and ERB'S other iconic series.
Massive Conan fan, the most important character in fantasy history. Robert E. Howard was a genius, its tragic he never realized his importance and took his own life. The Darkhorse run was pretty great, pre woke comics. True Conan. Also, Robert Jordan, the creator of Wheel of Time, did some pretty great Conan books, six of em.
The one thingsI would love to see coming forward for the future of Conan and the Hyborian universe. I would love to see a Conan Death Dealer crossover. Even though Death Dealer is not a Robert Howard creation. Frank Frazetta is forever intwined with Conan as Howard is for defining the look of the character. And in the original Death Dealer novels they were set in a time before the rise of Atlantis. So in theory, Death Dealer could be in the Hyborian world of Conan. A Conan Death Dealer story would be so awesome. Two of the biggest bad asses ever fighting hordes of demons and undead would be amazing. The people in charge of both the Howard and Frazetta Estates need to get together, work out a deal to license out crossovers for books, comics, even video games and animations. They would both make alot of money if they worked together
I'm a big fan of Conan, I used to have all the savage swords of the 80s and 90s, but I haven't read anything in many years. This interview makes me want to start reading Conan again, and it sounds like he is in good hands.
I love these Conan videos you do. I'm extremely excited that Fredrik pulled the trigger on self-publishing the Cemmerian. This is the best news of the year for me🍻🗡🤘
Conan is really the last franchise I give a damn about nowadays, so I do hope Titan gives Howard's universe the justice it deserves. It might even make Crom smile... ... okay, maybe not. Has Crom EVER smiled?
Conan nin emin ellerde oldugunu hissediyorum. Efsane geri geliyor. Mukemmel bir yazar ve mukemmel bir çizer ile. Thomas ve Buscema dönemini tekrar yasayacağımızı düşünüyorum. cos mutluyum. Ne olur çizginizi bozmayın. ❤❤❤❤❤👍

His character an story is so fantastic...i really think he deserves more respect an attention...if they did it right a conan show on hbo could kill game of thrones...but they must stay true to the source material an make it adult...cuz if u really know Conan u know he ant for kids
15:37. It seems like it's almost like the same as an object travelling around in different time periods and between different characters (and their comics), influencing events and entire characters' histories in the process. Cool idea.
After listening of this interview I am hyped as never before! Sounds like the right people finally took this franchise in their capable hands! Just like Monolith and their Conan board games! Good luck and I'll definietly buy those new comics!
Great interview! I started reading the Conan novels when I was 10 years old and picked up the very early Marvel Comics' Conan shortly thereafter. Also, I've got over 1700 hours in Conan Exiles so I'm a big fan. Can't wait to see these.
Since you said that these are the same people that oversee the Conan exiles game I wonder if there will be some overlap. Like the chick in the cinematic intro that becomes a boss (can't remember character name) appearing in the comic or the game will be able to get DLC based on this run after a while.
Sounds like some very cool CONAN news and yeah when I was a kid back in 70s and early 80s picking up Marvel CONAN comics it was like it was said in video you could just pick them up at any time and really enjoy the stories in front of you without worrying about earlier issues. Man those were some fun times. Anyways these new CONAN comics sound great!
For the record: Mr. Zub's first interview with Midnight's Edge was the deciding factor that convinced me to give Marvel's new Conan books a shot. (the other factor was Solomon Kane's appearance in the Serpent War crossover). Those books remain the only Marvel material I own from the last decade. I will definitely be following the new Titan stories, in trade paper back, if not in the monthly format. There isn't a 'local comic shop' within a hundred miles of me, so.....Eh. I also will be looking forward to Titan's release of the Savage Sword Omnibus #9. Really hope its put together as good as the Marvel Omnis have been.
Kusos, kudos! Great interview and great questions. Things I wanted to know and would have asked these guys myself about this new publisher's run and vision on this property. I was respectful of the Dark Horse stuff, but not crazy about most of it. I'll have to go and review the last Marvel run (I think I saw the beginning but was not impressed). I JUST DOWNLOADED THE TITAN CONAN #0. I AM SOLD AND ON BOARD WITH THIS TITAN PUBLICATION. I'll be $pending money on this book! The art looks like John Buscema never died. It looks like Buscema doing his own inking. I love that these guys are so reverent and respectful of the Thomas /(Smith) / Buscema classic stuff. You guys nailed it on the choice of artist for this run. Best of luck with this new iteration.
Jim Zub writing Conan? Count me in. I like his D&D run, so I know he can do fantasy, and Skullkickers proves he can write bad asses. Not gonna lie, about a quarter of my comic collection is Conan already, so this will be an easy sell.
Great interview. Haven't bought a comic book o/s the Dresden Files graphic novels since I was a kid in an era before internet. But I think I'm persuaded to take a look.

I bought the tabletop game of Conan. I loved the arts and the miniatures. But the manual was unplayable. They released a fixed manual on PDF but the website is down. Fortunately I managed to download the PDFs before that happened. In the manuals, missions include Valeria, which was a kickstarter exclusive, so the game is incomplete and you cannot play all the missions. I bought the sourcebook hoping that there were ways to design a balanced game without Valeria, but it basically said "aim for fun" and "trial and error" when trying to balance the game. What it should have was a mathematical way to calculate battle value for units. So the design lacked. And it is difficult to buy maps in the American continent. Since I can do arts, I made my own Valeria card and use a token to represent Valeria. That increased my feeling that Modiphius did a great job with the arts, but product availability and incomplete components do not make customers happy.

Comic series is hugely popular in Turkey 🇹🇷 and Tarkan was adapted into several films back in the 1970s. Fred Malmberg & Jim Zub you got to do a Conan & Tarkan Crossover
As long as they stay true to Robert E Howard this will be awesome. I hope they keep Red Sonia and her ridiculous chainmail bikini out of it. Red Sonia was never part of the stories of the Hyborian Age, she was a Cossack fighting against the Ottoman Empire.
