      MrRoMaGi I like to think that as well. When it comes to DC’s characters the likes of Batman, Superman, the Flash, Wonder Woman, etc., gives off a sorta mythical and legendary status towards them like the Greek/Roman gods. However with Marvel characters, it heavily relies more on personal sympathy and sometimes even empathy towards the viewer; you expect heroes such as Thor, Captain America, the Fantastic Four, or the X-Men to be more distant and grandiose due to their power and influence but they are usually portrayed in the opposite by showing how easily they can be beaten down. Spider-Man is easily the best example of a character anybody can relate to.

  • @Novapoid
    @Novapoid 3 года назад +170

    I really hope WB get their act together with the DC movies. There's so much mythic potential in them, it's certainly a different feel than Marvel (which is cool, too, but I always felt closer to DC characters) and I'm not sure the lighthearted tone fits them even if it has massive appeal. There has been exceptions such as Shazam! (which btw had also darkness and heart), but more often than not they should feel mythical & larger than life.
    P.S: Please don't give Superman to J.J. Abrams.

    Say what you have to say people dc got the most amazing, badass, finest characters in the history of superheroes and its something that some people won't understand or don't want to understand no no no I REPEAT AGAIN no one can touch dc in the comics and animation cartoon and movies and even dc have movies like The Batman, Christopher Nolan's dark knight trilogy, superman returns, man of steel, batman v Superman, wonder Woman, Shazam, Aquaman, Watchman
    And dc Got this amazing future with
    Wonder Woman 1984, Zack Snyder's Justice League, The Suicide Squad, The Batman, Black Adam, The Flash, Shazam 2, Aquaman 2.

So much spotlight on stories and energies and their creators who have one way or the other, influenced all of our lives. an emotional rollercoaster. but oh MAN I wanted to reach in and hug her at about 1:15:00. I really wanted to scoff at the emotion for a fictional character.......but I had exactly the same emotion back when that issue came out.......and every single time it's discussed since then......and especially feeling it from the POV of someone in the business of storytelling who regularly conjures imagery to elicit an emotional or sensational response! Artists see in 3...maybe 4 dimensions the EVENT they're expressing! She went all the way back to SMALLVILLE 1991 in that moment. My old roommate from 20 years ago was the biggest comic collector I ever knew in person.
    He owned a fortune, each protected in a transparent sleeve, keeping his collection up to date with excel lists, he printed out to label the boxes. Of course, he spent lots of time in the only comic book store we had.
    I was fascinated, trying to understand more of that passion which he devoted so much time and money.
    I came to find it reflected so much about our world as we know it, and the world we desire to create, really.
    I liked Batman more, I am more of the sinister stuff, the Joker is a character that has enormous impact on all sorts of villain characters throughout the movie business as well as the writing business. Hard to find a character is more wag and deep down bad-crazy and sadistic than him. Shakespeare would have loved him, I am sure.
