I thought they all just sounded like that! Worth noting is these engines should have the oil level at the top notch on the dipstick for the VVT to work at its best.
Thanks for the video. Just recently got myself a 61 plate titanium and it's got a few issues. Hopefully some will be sorted after the oil change and filters. Thank you again mate 👍.
That cabin filter was horrendous, the one I changed on my 2004 Rover 25 wasn't even that bad and that had never been changed, judging by the manufacturing date on it. Great service vid. I'm thinking of getting a 1.6, but I've been put off by the horror stories of the wet cam belts deteriorating. I've been a bit put off by the 1.6 Ecoboost (Ecoboom) engine
Yeah it was really bad definitely had not been changed it a while and yeah I would stay clear of them there really unreliable engines I’ve had a couple and thankfully they have been fine but I wouldn’t chance it
i have same engine with 125 hp . 158.000km real, same noise. I Use Motul 5w30 without another solution I tried a cleaner for injection, and fuel consumption in stay pozition is 0.5 i tried more spark plugs(ngk simple, original motorcraft and denso iridium) i want to try evo brisk iridium 360
This engine has a quite noisy design and those noises are caused by piston slapping and rod to piston pin connection excessive wear. Any additive will not solve that. Changing the oil more frequently might slow down the process.
I added Wynn's complete fuel system cleaner (Black version not purple one) into gasoline tank and after 100km of highway drive this engine noise like it's disel engine and not gasoline is not present any more. I guess that after some time it will came back but I guess that additive did something.
This guy has no idea how to service a car NEVER remove a MAF sensor to install an air filter NEVER tighten an oil filter with an oil filter REMOVAL tool oil filters are tightened to HAND tight only NEVER drain an engine of oil with the filler cap on still NEVER fill the engine with oil with the dip stick in still and definitely NEVER fill the engine with oil while still on axle stands this gives an inaccurate reading on the dip stick I suggest you let a professional service your car next time
why never remove maf sensor? first time seeing this "tip". it really doesn't matter if you do it carefully, also, because, in Focus MK3 you CAN'T INSTALL NEW AIR FILTER WITHOUT REMOVING that stupid maf. You just have to do it. You can pull out already fitted in, but you can't mount new. Fought with that for half an hour during my first air filter change.

Yeah tuck if for mot and the guy said it sounded fine as well to be fair

That’s alright, happy to help!

My 09 Focus 1.6l petrol is quite noisy when it's cold, but it's near enough silent when it's warmed up.
I put the Wynn's super charge oil additive in with oil change . It makes a difference. Runs smoother
They do some good products
That's normal sound for this engine. Got one since brand new and sounds quite similar.
Thanks for letting me know
Very good video friend. Could you show me how to replace the fuel filter? All the best!
Thank you and unfortunately don’t have the car anymore
These cars don't have a fuel filter they are designed with a lifetime one in the fuel pump unfortunately
Well, maybe should of let the oil drain for an hour, get all the drips out.
The valve lifters are not hydraulic in that engine. They are fixed shims. They are a noisy engine from new.
Yeah I didn’t realise this till I was told after I made the video lol but defo don’t sound healthy I understand it was fine tho
Hey Pal did that product stop the noisy engine?
It did help but been told these are just noisy engines!
Hell yeah great job
Thanks Jess!

I’ve been told these engines are just loud and that it’s not an issue!

Hello thank you for the feedback I was unsure if the additives would work but thought I would give it ago whitest changing the oil
@@restoringsalvage It will run many thousands of miles without any problem. It is just noisy and annoying. But it is just a cheap car.
Why is the oil filter in such a horrible position? oil just goes everywhere...doesn't this make the car smoke when you start it back up?
Ano it’s so stupid and no I cleaned it up with brake fluid and it was fine
I added Wynn's complete fuel system cleaner (Black version not purple one) into gasoline tank and after 100km of highway drive this engine noise like it's disel engine and not gasoline is not present any more. I guess that after some time it will came back but I guess that additive did something.
Yeah it seems too work fine dose what is says on the tin aha
hello my friend, i have the same problem. did you get bored?
I found out that apparently a lot of these cars do it and it’s really not that big of a problem
@@restoringsalvage thank you
All duratec engines sound ticky
How much ps this engine ??
If referring too BHP 103 I believe.
Lol if u have water in oil 😂😂 it's mean gasket it's fucked 😂 your engine mixing oil with antifreeze 😂

Maybe he didnt want to be ripped of by a professional mechanic.
Ok boss lol
Hand tight oil filter only - agreed. All the rest, you're talking blx and none of it makes any real difference.
