    Very nice to see the images of the Sigma, who see to have different, more retro-like Colors. But is what we see affected by camera settings? In the Fuji 35mm Mk I. It has a specific, authentic image look, great image quality. Also, it is small and very lightweight, so a compact and light package.

      The images are from Fuji 35mm Mk I as I've wrote in the beginning of the video, very interesting that you notice the signature of that lens!
      I'm sorry for the confusion, I will be more clear in description and the first comment!

    haha, I have the Sigma trinity X mount, and I agree with you the 30 mm is kind of ugly, and has no aperture ring, bummer! Although I use the in-body aperture control about 70% of the time compared to 30% ring-controlled aperture. They are very very good lenses I admit. But now I'm thinking to get that Fujifilm 33 mm, although it is much more costly than this Sigma. I got the Sigma trinity for about $1,200 for all three.

    If I'm not mistaken their only line-up with aperture ring is their "I" series, so I expected Sigma to release their "Contemporary" lens as-is for X-Mount, no aperture ring, etc. I love more options, especially from a reputable company like Sigma. Their 56 f/1.4 really intrigued me.
    I have always wanted to own the XF 56mm, but the price is really prohibitive for me. Not really interested in Viltrox's and Tokina's offerings because of their average coating and their clickless aperture (that behave like a clicked one, I better have the real clicked one or nothing at all). Sigma 56 seems like a perfect option for me, but I'll wait for the comparison video to show how much I'll miss if I go with Sigma.
    Interesting video as always. Always love a good photography talk.

      I have the Sigma 56mm F1.4 and it is very good. I use it on XT5. and I'm very happy with it, although it doesn't have an aperture ring. it is relatively small and lightweight. I also have the Viltrox 23mm, and it is also a very good lens. the clickless aperture ring I'm sure was catering to the video makers. Just thought I share.

      @@arcadian91007 Pretty sure the Sigma will perform great! Viltrox's latest two releases (13mm and 75mm) are great, two of the best available for X-Mount. Their old trio on the other hand are good, but I wouldn't called them great. For the money they're great value, but the IQ leaves a lot to be desired.
      Their clickless aperture ring might looked like it's marketed towards videographer, but Fujifilm camera don't have a smooth aperture change, so even with clickless aperture the exposure change won't be smooth, you'll see the steps. Which is why i hate it because you don't get the benefit of both; no click tell exactly where your aperture sits, and no smooth aperture change. I think Viltrox listen to the users, and that's why 2 of their latest lenses all have clicked aperture.

      @@paceyombex I see, oh wow, it is very educational to read your comment, thank you! I wish I hear your comments before I got the 3 Sigma lenses. And I don't really shoot video from my Fuji camera, so I will not benefit from the clickless aperture ring. And as you said if the body was not designed to have smooth aperture change then it is really useless to have that on the lens. Well, glad to hear they are putting the clicks back.. thank you for your response.

    Tony Northrup's review on the Sigma on the Fuji blew me away though. wonder if it's any good on video...

    Salut Tudor ! Dețin 35 1.4 și 23 f2 de la fuji! Mi-ai recomanda sa adaug 56 de la sigma sau sa vând 35 1.4 și 23ul și sa cumpăr sigma 30? Mulțumesc

      As adăuga 56 de la Sigma, mi se pare cea mai bună decizie alături de restul de focale (35 și 23).

    Thank you for the video.
    I have XT3 with the kit lens and Viltrox 56mm f1.4. I am confused between Xf35mm f2 or the new Sigma 30mm f1.4. What do you think?

    • @Tudor_Mateescu
      @Tudor_Mateescu  2 года назад +4

      Very hard decision! If sigma would be as lite and small as XF35mm f2 I would go with Sigma because I like the field of view and that f1.4.
      On x-t3 Sigma 30mm f1.4 will stay very well, and it's smaller and lighter then Viltrox with some grams.
      So If you are ok with that size and weight, I think it's a better choice Sigma, but if you like smaller lenses then Fuji 35mm f2 is the way to go if you are ok with the field of view (that is ok) but Sigma field of view I think it's more versatile... personally I like it more, but the for me, for my x-pro3 I prefer Fuji 35mm f2. I will not go with sigma just because of the size and weight. If the lens would be smaller or at least lighter I will sure chose it. Also Sigma it's possible to balance better on X-T3.

    Viltrox 33mm or Sigma 30mm ?

    • @Tudor_Mateescu
      @Tudor_Mateescu  2 года назад +1

      If Sigma it's focusing ok I would go with Sigma for sure, because I like the field of view more and Sigma image quality it's also good. I'm thinking to change my Fuji 35f1.4 with Sigma for that reason too, but the reports regarding AF aren't so good... In the end it depends on the field of view - if you want a 50mm equivalent lens or a wider 45mm equivalent lens.
