- Today we dive into legendary English rock band Oasis. "I Am the Walrus" is a song they performed many times throughout their history, and a live recording of them performing the song was included as a B-side to their 1994 single "Cigarettes & Alcohol" ... Fantastic Beatles Cover Version.

Wasn't really a festival - it was just two consecutive nights of Oasis with some support acts, and a quarter of a million turned up to see them.

That’s the ones I can remember seeing. Some would say that’s a festival with Oasis headlining

Slide Away from this gig was amazing.
Knebworth still to this day the largest demand for concert tickets in British history, 4% of the whole British population applied for tickets.
Mental when you think back, not a festival this was an Oasis gig. 2 nights with a 125k crowd each time.

This was Knebworth, a seminal moment for not just Oasis but the entire 90s Britpop culture and British music as a whole. This is where it all came to a head and they'd never be quite this good again, unfortunately. The best band in the world at their very very best (although Maine Road was a better gig musically, in my opinion). Glad you enjoyed it gents.

The Beatles never ever played this live which is why I've heard the Gallaghers who were big Beatles fans wanted to perform it. You can hear The Beatles influence on their music.
After the 80s bands like the Stone Roses and then a few years afterwards bands like Oasis were a reaction to the electronic synth sound that was big in the 80s and a resurgence in a proper band playing actual instruments as opposed to vocalists singing over synthesized music. I love the synths but love just as much if not more actual bands playing actual instruments.
