1:08 a very brief moment of brotherly love in the gallagher household as they both adjust the lyrics to somehow end up with the same words. Gem absolutely loving it is probably my favourite bit though.
Dave that Berlin gig was a basically a preview and start of the world tour of 2002 touring Heathen Chemistry album the last album with Alan White on drums that berlin gig was shown on ARTE as a 1 hour special hoping down the track it will be re broadcasted as it was shot very nice and the quality woulld be insane the set list from Oasis in 2002 is regarded by fans as one of the greatest as they played many songs they didn't usually play live in concert !
Love it Dave, I was nodding along in agreement with your Beatles chronology knowledge 😂😂. Please check out Oasis from 2000 the Jools Holland special and their version of My Generation. The entire gig is exceptional, the band sound great, Liam’s voice is at its peak just before it all went wrong.
This is one of those covers where Oasis do two things: They deliver by doing the actual Beatles, because we kinda need a cover here and there when a band is that focused on another artist and they don’t brag for once (when addressing their covers). The latter is kind of remarkable when you know stories about Liam, which you guys probably do. I think they wouldn’t disrespect the Beatles, unlike fans, friends, colleagues, spouses and family members 😂 I personally think they do a third thing, which is improve the original on the rock side and they give it the sound of an era that’s very important to someone born in the 80s like me. Cheers and lots of ❤from Hamburg :)
Lennon wrote that song to purposefully confuse everybody and so that nobody could say they understood the lyrics, this was in response to many rumours circulating about alternative meanings to beatles songs that simply weren't true.
I've never seen this before so it was great to watch it with you :-) - I thought it was amazing - from any other band I would have thought it presumptuous, yet from Oasis it just felt as if the song was written for them - fantastic ! Now to listen to it again....
@@jonathanmarkham1998 I love live music, Oasis is biblical live, and The beatles do not have a live version.... we all free to have our own opnions, even more when the subject is art.
oasis played i am the walrus at the end of gigs for years, i think from 1994-97 every oasis gig ended with it. The gig they played when they got offered their record deal they ended their set with this song.
Pretty damn good , I am guessing here he was in a open D tuning for slide and tuning back to standard at the end because the he re tuned the B string and in open G and open E it stays as a B but open D is tuned to A . Just guessing but could be wrong . He impressed me doing that during the song . Another great version is Styx and the Contemporary Youth Orchestra . Both versions are fantastic though . I love this song
Paul McCartney I mean Billy Shears *cough cough* said already he was the walrus, who dressed up in it, which symbolises death. but peope don't wanna hear it, cause reality is harsh. Just like people don't wanna hear that beatles where a manufactured band... they didn't go from bar band to AWESOME for no reason. those lads couldn't barely play... studio/session musician as Bernard Purdie admited to... and I know this is a cover, but i really wish people thought more... #SadFace
Earls Court with the Bootleg Beatles was the definitive version in my opinion
I agree but this is still great. 1995 sounded more like liam since it's so powerful and 2002 he's more nasal so it sounds more like lennon.
Doesn't matter if it's outta tune , coz you're cool ❤
@samechick LOL, didn't Liam tweet that?
@@Me-gs3uuLiam said that before singing I Am The Walrus in front of Sony execs. One of their early B sides.
@@rkid727 Really? Wow.
@@Me-gs3uu yeah. Oasis said it was from a concert and that’s what they put on the b side art, but later clarified.
It was The masteplan version.

I like how Liam and Noel walked out before the song was even over LOL

We are getting into Oasis covers territory now…. I’ll strap myself in, you know what cover I’m waiting for 🙌🏻🙌🏻🤞🏼

Also check out Who Feels Love Wembley 2000, FIRST Night. It's amazing.
The ones from Knebworth and Maine road are 100 times harder than this one tho but still Oasis always deliver. 🤘🏼🤘🏼❤️

Not a popular Oasis cover, but i really like the cover of Neil Youngs Hey Hey My My
unreal cover
That l'il smile between Liam and Noel melts my stone cold heart 🥲

Check out their live version of My Generation
Love that on Jools Holland. Liam looking his most Lennonesque
@@LambriniSupernova I agree the Jools Holland performance is better than Manchester 2005. They should react to that one.
Could you check out Oasis song "My Big Mouth" at Knebworth, Second Night, for your next reaction???

It's hard to make a cover better than the original, and better than the beatles? Twice as hard, and to me they nailed it.
This is fine, but to say it’s better than the original is laughable.

The Beatles stopped touring because they couldnt hear themselves play due to the screaming and felt their performances were suffering.
The beatles couldn't hear themselves live with all the screaming lennon did some of the newer stuff he did come together live.
Cast no shadow at Maine road next please

Biblical ✌️🏴
Knebworth 96 is the best version of I am the Walrus, I'd highly recommend that one.
Goo goo g’joob :)
Ace! X
You guys have to react Noel singing There is A Light That Never Goes Out by the Smiths. And also If I Had A Gun.
There are sooo many, I promise we will try to get to them all. IIHAG is a personal fave of mine!

Dave! Do yourself a favour & listen to I Am The Walrus live @ Earls Court 1995.
It’s at least 1million times better than this version
there is a way better live version than this one... earls court 1995 for instance
