    Thank you for posting this video.i have a Peugeot 407 engine ew7a 6fy build year 2009.i have changed the coolant sensor and thermostat but this part number shows also in my engine maybe as second sensor ? I can't find it in the engine

      This is the only sensor I know of on the 307. I haven't worked on a 407 but I thought it would be similar

  • @easyrider020

    Why I changed them cause the temperature gauge doesn't stay on 90 degrees always below I thought faulty thermostat first.nothing changed so far maybe it's in the ecu ?

    Thanks for the video, was really helpful. Do I need to bleed the system after the sensor was replaced? I lost few drops of coolant during the change but not sure if I should bleed it from the bottom point for few ml of coolant that was lost during the change. I was thinking the sensor location is above the bleeding point so it should not take any air during the change.

    • @screwsnutsandbolts
      @screwsnutsandbolts  2 года назад

      No you don't have to bleed the system according to the manual. You just have to top up any coolant lost while changing the sensor.

    Is it the same for a Peugeot 307cc (2007 petrol engine)?

  • @TheJohnson861

    Could this be a cause of coolant Geting into the wire loom for ecu

    • @screwsnutsandbolts
      @screwsnutsandbolts  2 года назад

      I'm not sure, but coolant could possibly leak from one of these if the seal failed

    Do you know if this would be a similar procedure for the 308 SW with the 1.6Lt petrol engine?

    If I drive my car round all day but the temperature of the engine is showing really low all the time is my temperature sensor knackered.It does move up and down only a bit though nowhere near the middle of the gauge where most cars temperature gauge sits once warm

    • @screwsnutsandbolts
      @screwsnutsandbolts  3 года назад

      It could be a faulty temperature sensor. It's only a cheap part so it's probably worth changing it first and see if that fixes the issue. It could also be a faulty thermostat or some fault with the gauge or its wiring.

      @@screwsnutsandbolts I have just changed the coolant temperature sensor all is good now its sitting at about 90° then when it gets to about 100° the fan kicks in.I am worried because I can hear a slight rattling sound maybe the water pump?

    • @screwsnutsandbolts
      @screwsnutsandbolts  3 года назад

      @@scotty1004 Is the rattling possibly coming from the fan ?

    • @scotty1004

      @@screwsnutsandbolts no I dont think so its rattling when the engine is cool and the fans off.The car is at 70,000 miles now and hasn't had the cam belt & water pump changed so I think it would be best to get it done soon.Another £400

    Hey bro, is this the only sensor in Peugeot 307 CC 2006 1.6 Petrol that is responsible for moving the temperature gauge? Or is there any other that I should be aware of?

    I have one question, what's the difference between a blue and green sensor, of course, except for the color 😁

    • @screwsnutsandbolts
      @screwsnutsandbolts  3 года назад

      I'm not actually sure to be honest, I assumed different brands had different colors :)

    • @Vandwo
      @Vandwo 2 года назад

      I had blue sensor with three pin-connector (two wires coming in) but initially I purchased green with two pin connector (again two wires) and had to replace it with blue one. Also the green goes with 19mm wrench and the blue goes with 21mm wrench. Both types should be NTC thermal-couples but have no idea why I had the blue one with just two pins used from it.

      @@Vandwo I have the same issue. I purchased a new blue sensor with 3 pins, but when I connected it, it doesnt work, it raises the temperature as soon as I start the car. The old one works for the moment but it is faulty. Do you think I should put the green one, or find the original blue valeo sensor?

      @@screwsnutsandboltshi i have a 307 1.6 petrol and thermostat is in same place. My problem is that the oil and temperature gauge doesn't go up when driving and no heat inside the car. But when i sit in idle the gauges go up to normal halfway point. Im thinking it is thermostat problem. My question is. If it were only this sensor would it show a fault on the obd scanner, mine doesn't show any fault. I bought new complete thermostat and im wondering should i just change the sensor first and see if it solves the problem or probably better to change the full housing.
