Just a tip for anyone reading the comments. I had the ABS and ESP fault code, but it was not because of a sensor but the brakelight switch behind the pedal malfunctioning. Please check if your brakelights light up when you press the brakes, to diagnose the problem. This could have saved me a lot of trouble. However this video is very helpful for changing the sensor. Furthermore, be aware that you need a brake caliper tool to rotate the brakecaliper back to assemble the brakesystem.
Very good. No background music nice clear voice. Well done. But you need a special tool to both rotate and compress the brake piston at the same time to make it go back in. Many cars allow direct compression of the piston but not Peugeots.
Great teacher , thanks for being so comprehensive , and helping us see , every step along the way 🌞. Great camera work well , in those hard to see places , you nailed it .
Thanks for the great vids. I had problems with the ABS on my 307. Turned out to be rust build up underneath the rear sensors. It caused increased distance between the sensor head and the magnetic ring.Easy to fix once it was diagnosed.
I know you did this video a long time ago! On a 206 rear hub nuts are 200nm/148lbs ft so I think the same for 307 and you should use a new one and if you have a nut splitter of some kind that fits then you can use this to indent the hub nut lock. Also when your compressing the caliper pistons all you have to do is unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap a bit this will make it easier I didn't quite understand why you wanted to undo the caliper nipple to do this? Thanks for the video very informative especially the sensor gaps.
Both bolt heads also snapped off on the rears when removing sensors on our 307. Cleaned off all the rust slag and then refitted the sensor to get clearance The ring had lost all magnetic coating so new ring also!
Great video from start to finish to show how to clean all parts. I'am sure you have to wind back the piston did on my Peugeot 307 SW Auto 2004 which i still have and love working on it . Gearbox box this year for me nice video
Hello wonderful video, I still want help from you, I have a Peugeot 307 from 2003 hdi, a problem appeared after a diagnosis on the left rear wheel, a faulty sensor, I made a complete change of the sensor and the reader on the bearing and the abs sensor and esp again light up, which could be the problem?
If you have bosch brakes you don't need to remove the cap or axel nut, just the disk as it separate from the hub. That sensor looks like its for the bosch brakes.
Hi, great video. I have a question, do you have any videos on ESP fault due to steering alignment? I changed the steering wheel switch, the one where the headlights and wipers switches are, apparently underneath there are circle rings with magnets and they have to be aligned with the steering wheel, they are located underneath the PCB. When you take out the steering wheel, on first look, there is an arrow showing the correct alignment for the wheels, but how do I know if it's the right position, when Each circle the arrow is at the same "Aligned" position? Do I have to count the circles form one end to another and place it at the middle number of circles? I don't have ABS fault, just the ESP fault, and it turns on every time when I start driving, right after 10 meters. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hello . What was the orange light on in the last second before ending the video ? By the way do you think that a peugeot 307 from 2005 with automatic gearbox has esp and side air bags ?
My car have ABS fault, so i run diagnosis and problem is left rear wheel. So i measured both rear abs sensors and its about 6.990MΩ and the second 7.023MΩ so i decided both of them working. I cleaned magnetic ring, i didnt notice any damage part but its not working. Do you think i have to replace the magnetic ring? Also nice videos that helped me a lot :)
Hi Patrik, Thanks for nice feedback :) If I was to guess based on your explanation, I would say magnetic ring. Nonetheless you can inspect it first. even small crack on the rubber surface of the magnetic ring might make it useless. Take a torch and look at the ring (after cleaning it of course). If you see any damage just replace the ring. Good luck!
Is It Fixed Yet ? Well i changed ring it was a little bit damaged but not solved my problem. So i changed left to right and diag show opposit wheel so i decided problem is sensor, i changed the sensor and everything working. Im so happy. O saved a lot of money and learned a lot. Thank for help and keep doing videos.
Herzlichen Glückwunsch zu Ihrer Arbeit! Ich habe die Bauchmuskeln und die Glühbirne an Bord. Sie können mir helfen, diese Fehler zu beseitigen. Ich warte auf Ihre Antwort. Danke
It would be fantastic to see this technique. Could you upload some short guide about it? I simply cannot imagine how to fit the key there... many people would appreciate that. Cheers
I dont have this time right now , but you can be 1000% sure this is the way to change it. Just try to reach the sensor bolt throught the bolt hole with screwdriver and you will see its possible. Same with the allen key.. I use key from allen key set from Halfords advanced socked 170pc set
I believe you of course that it might be possible. I will check it out the next time I am in the workshop. Nonetheless in my case the surface that the sensor is located on is quite corroded (you can see it in the video). Even after I have cleaned it from excessive rust, I needed to press the sensor in place. How did you position your sensor when you had no access to the interface surface?

Watching from France..Very good explanation and step by step on A B S sensor..Thanks Sir

Nice video! You don’t have to remove the hub. You can gl through one of the wheel bolt holes in order to remove the bolt of the sensor.

13:29 this bolt is aligned with the wheel bolt hole, so you do not need to remove the hub to replace the sensor.
European cars are purposely made difficult. But nice work in doing this sensor, good work.👍

Do you have any videos on actually replacing the abs block?
My cruise control is not working , I've replaced the brake switch but still not working yet think does it had to do something with the ABS sensor ?
Checking with a multimeter how much impedance does the sensor must have?

Hi Patrik,
Great that you shared your story! Thanks!
Can you just add if this was the sensor with the 6.990MΩ or 7.023MΩ that was faulty?
Cheers
FELIZ NAVIDAD!
Is it possible to install ESP on my 307 2.0 sw 2006 manual?
Did the aluminum wheels you put on your car make any differene in acceleration?
Hi Arli,
In pure theory Yes. Nonetheless I do not feel it in the day to day drive :)
Cheers

I guess it’s the rear abs sensor you’re replacing. It doesn’t say in title

Hi Arli,
I will add your request to the list.
Cheers
Dude you can change it from the wheel bolt hole... 5 mins job...
Hi Kamen,
You cannot do that on Peugeot 307 :)
Cheers
Is It Fixed Yet ? I did it on my 307 2001 , both rear sensors.. need just allen key..
