Been following you ever since my MPB started getting bad. Enjoying all the valuable content. Could you possibly cover the topic of thyroid hormone production in relation to androgenic alopecia? From what I know it is currently a debated topic. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and also suffer from male pattern baldness. A low functioning thyroid causes a low amount of progesterone. Progesterone blocks DHT production just as finasteride does. Is it possible that a lack of natural progesterone in men due to low functioning thyroid could cause the exacerbation of male pattern baldness especially in young men? Thanks!
I take 20 mg of minoxidil twice a day, for a total of 40 mg per day. It's a common medicine, especially for people with high blood pressure. It did make my hair grow back on my crown, but I certainly don't have hair nearly connecting my temples with my eyebrows like this man. This man's unique experience is purely the result of genetics, not soley minoxidil. The minoxidil just exacerbated his dormant hypertrichosia. Men taking minoxidil should not expect these results as typical. If you have high blood pressure, ask your doctor for a prescription. You cannot suddenly take 40 mg per day. You have to take 2.5 mg once per day, then 2.5 mg twice per day, then 5 mg once per day and 2.5 mg once per day, then 5 mg twice per day, etc. until 20 mg twice per day, which is the typical dosage for high blood pressure. The maximum dosage is 100 mg per day, usually given as 50 mg twice per day, although doses that high are not common. You can increase the dose every three days, but some people need to increase the dose more slowly, especially if they are people who are prone to swelling (edema), headaches or retaining water easily. To reduce the likelihood of retaining water, it's a good idea to take a water pill (diuretic), such as hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) (for men) or spiralactone (for women). Common dosages for hydrochlorothiazide start at 50 mg once a day at breakfast time. If the man has low potassium levels, then adding triamterene will help. Triamterene and HCTZ are available in a combination pill that contains 37.5 mg Triamterene and 25 mg HCTZ, commonly sold under the brand name Maxzide. If potassium is still quite low, a higher dose containing 50 mg Triamterene and 25 mg HCTZ is available, sold under the brand name Dyazide. Obviously, eating a diet rich in potassium, such as from lean meats and leafy, green vegetables as well as cardiovascular exercise is preferable, unless medically contraindicated.

I've been using topical monoxidil on my receding hairline, for almost 2 months, my hair did grew hair . But the problem is i also grow unwanted hair specially on my face and also on my side ear. My question is, if i shave it, should it be grow back? Also if i stop taking it will the hair on my face will go back to normal?
Why would he need laser to remove those hair that came as a result of Minoxidil? Since we understand that once we stop using it, all that hair will go 🤔
I just started 1mg fin and 5mg of oral min this very day. It is legit from a doctor here in Japan, so we'll see how it goes. I'm hoping for positive results. I have a receding hairline and would like to grow my hair out and pull back into a ponytail in a year or so.
So about two and a half months in. They say results will be visible at about 4 months, BUT I have noticed some regrowth. Nothing to write home about, but it still makes me happy. I see some new hairs on hair line that weren't there before and peach fuzz type hairs are starting to grow in now. I'm not sure if they will turn into normal hair, but I hope so. The area was completely hairless before. The swirtl/cowlike in the back of my head, the crown area, is also filling in. I just assumed that was my normal swirl, and I think it is, but it may have been thinning because it is noticeably fuller now. That being said, my hair is also a couple of months longer too, so I'm not sure if its the length that is covering it up or hair growth, but I think it is a combination. As I said at only 2.5 months in its hard to see any real results. They say 4 months for initial results and then around 9-12 for about 90%. I'm staying hopeful!!

You can probably get better results doing both as it is being absorbed directly into the scalp whereas the oral is also being metabolized in the liver. Given that topical is poorly absorbed into the blood, I don't think you'd have to worry about overdosing, esp if taking it with a low dose of oral minox.
Where/how can you get the test to see if you are a good absorber for the topical minoxidil? is this a mail away a hair test or ask your doctor or? I want to get it

Why would he need laser to remove those hair that came as a result of Minoxidil? Since we understand that once we stop using it, all that hair will go 🤔
Because he would then lose the hair on the scalp as well, duh
I just started 1mg fin and 5mg of oral min this very day. It is legit from a doctor here in Japan, so we'll see how it goes. I'm hoping for positive results. I have a receding hairline and would like to grow my hair out and pull back into a ponytail in a year or so.
how are you doing bro
@coldfire22 updates ?
@@coldfire22 great results for 2 months man. My brother grew his temple region at the 6-month mark( only finasteride). The only side he got was beard thinning.
@@mrram33 Thanks! I'm not really sure what to expect.. a lot of times we see vids that are after good progress has been made and after months of taking stuff, so seeing peach fuzz on a place that was once fully hairless is exciting. Hearing that your brother got results at 6months gives me even more hope though. I'm looking forward to seeing how this progresses!

Been taking oral minoxidil since April. I haven’t gotten any side effects at all.
What brand do you take and is it very effective?
Can one incorporate topical and oral minoxidil or will that be regarded overdose?
You can probably get better results doing both as it is being absorbed directly into the scalp whereas the oral is also being metabolized in the liver. Given that topical is poorly absorbed into the blood, I don't think you'd have to worry about overdosing, esp if taking it with a low dose of oral minox.
Where/how can you get the test to see if you are a good absorber for the topical minoxidil? is this a mail away a hair test or ask your doctor or? I want to get it

Hey man, love the channel always making great content. Quick question. Let’s say I start oral minoxidil 2.5 mg a day for the next year; after that one year I see some significant gains, but for some reason I get some kind of cardiovascular side effects. Can I switch from oral to a topical minoxidil while using a derma roller and still maintain my gains while eliminating the side effects?
