I tried all the other methods on my 2017 27" iMac with 1TB Fusion drive that I accidentally split. This was the ONLY method that worked for me and it all worked the first try. Do remember to unmount all the drives first and afterwards YOU HAVE TO CONNECT TO WIFI or you'll get stuck on one of the next screens saying Apple will verify this computer but the continue button just doesnt do anything if the wifi isnt connected. That took me 30 more min to figure out and I even worked for Apple for years! lol.

I just bought a refurbished mid-2011 iMac 27" and it looks like it only has 121.33 SSD. It's supposed to have 1TB HDD, too. When I go into "storage' under "about this mac" I see a non-clickable grey colored icon of a hard disk and underneath it it says 1TB and next to that directly to the right there is a long disk drive capacity bar with part of it highlighted in yellow on the far left side indicating the amount of space taken up by the operating system, etc and then directly above the long drive capacity bar it says "102.89GB available of 121.33GB." Why doesn't it say "1.1TB available of 1.12TB" or something similar? I am concerned the 1TB is hidden or missing so I won't be able to utilize it. Like I said I just bought this iMac. I haven't even used it. I'm about ready to return it if I don't figure this out. I hope I'm not jumping to conclusions here

This procedure also worked on my iMac 21.5 (Late 2015) under El Capitan! The Apple Support item that I found didn't (differences in diskutil syntax?} Thanks!

Anybody else experience the computer running slower after combining the 2 drives into a fusion? I basically reverted back to Mojave from Catalina and when I rebooted in Mojave the drives had split so I whipped everything and created a fusion between the sdd and HDD but now after Mojave has been reinstalled my mac seems to be running way slower?! Why? Help please

    Create Fusion Drive = CashRaid = Raid0
    1. cmd + r
    2. DiskUtility (FestplattenDienstprogramm)
    3.Terminal:"diskutil list"
    3a. unmount disks
    4. Terminal:"diskutil cs create Fusion disk0 disk1" or "diskutil cs create MacintoshHd disk0 disk1"(creating new logical Group with SSD0 and HDD1)
    4a.. diskutil cs list
    5. Terminal: "diskutil coreStorage createVolume" (copy and paste Disk-ID) "jhfs+ "MacintoshHD"100%
    or
5a. Terminal: "diskutil cs createVolume" (copy and paste Disk-ID) "jhfs+ "Fusion"2256g
    5b.. diskutil list
    6. exit
