Great Comparison! I have found that guitars equipped with the more basic Stop Bar Tailpiece are usually more resonate, Bigger sounding, & more alive overall when compared to the ABR-1 bridge. I always assumed it's because it is a more direct connection from the strings to the wood!
I have a 99 Gibson CS 54 Goldtop , it’s starting to relic very nicely now. But the sound is incredible. Cheers and thanks for sharing your experience with us 😎🎸
Good Dr., do you happen to know what had been done to the '56 which resulted in the diagonal holes in the bridge section? Almost like it had a wrap around.
@@jltrem Bigsby was an additional customization. It is held on by two small screws on the top and four around the bottom button. It looks cool and sounds interesting in terms of its effect on the frequency characteristics of the resonance. But unfortunately Bigsby is too heavy and doesn’t hold the formation very well.
In general I prefer Wrap around bridge from '54, I think it has better sound transfer to the body, it is just my idea of it, I never played one, but maybe there is something to it..
I disagree. I’m not hearing anything here that I can’t get with Tonocracy/NAM or ToneX. The only difference is that I don’t/don’t have to do it at huge volumes.

Yes, I also like the stop bar better. brighter attack and more harmonics. It's really better than a telecaster.
