silk milk only has to be refrigerated once it's been open, just so you know! it helps save space in the fridge and can be convenient to keep it out until it's needed 😊 (especially if there's a sale and you want to buy in bulk)
we also keep our spices in the tiny cabinet above the stove, which is very convenient until you drop the old bay in the potatoes

Hi! I can't wait to make these biscuits, that is the one thing I have yet to successfully veganize from my Southern diet lol. By the way Sarah's Vegan Kitchen here on RUclips makes a killer sausage patty with TVP that is super simple, just spices, TVP, flour and a flax egg, and they are delicious! Would go great with those biscuits and that gravy...will be doing that myself ;)!
This looked delicious, I'm inspired to make something like it one day. I too dislike cilantro, and like Pepperidge Farm stuffing. That inspired me to make that stuffing (which I had in the pantry) tonight for my work lunch tomorrow. I used vegetable broth, and added walnuts and shiitake mushrooms. All in all, great vid 👍

One thing that gets me is when people call a scent a flavor. As in this air freshener is cherry flavor.
My mom used to make applesauce with the skins on. It gave a red tint to the sauce and tasted great - plus it was one less step for the process. So, I'd assume skin on pie would be great as long as the apples were cooked through.

Hahaha, Great video! I, like your mom, like to drop my biscuits. Loved how your dad showed up when it was all done. You two are hilarious! I used to like the Wegmans brand of vegan chicken nuggets. Used to buy the family size and they tasted just like the real thing. I haven't seen them. I think they dropped the line of chicken nuggets. I'm not sure I can get into the gardein. I suppose it's worth a try.

I know this was posted a year ago but Craig said there was oil in the vegetable broth, which is odd. I have never seen oil as an ingredient in broth and if you look up Wegman's broth, there isn't any oil. I couldn't see the other broth's brand name so I didn't look up that one.
Wish my family was vegan. Then I wouldn't have to cook all my food alone.

The cashew biscuits sound awesome, can you post the recipe. I don't want to buy the book for 1 recipe. I'd like to know how they milk Almonds. Those bowl's do not look vegan. Those homemade watermelons take forever to make. Too funny, your momdre is a huffer. LMAO! LOL Slurping the counter for a nugget, of a nugget :D Using fresh thyme is a great alternative to celery salt, or you can use the leaves from the celery tops. oooooh momdre used the A word.

this is a serious question. Its clear you guys put a lot of thought into having a healthy diet what I see in the videos is pretty high in processed foods and low in fresh fruit and veg. Why?
We actually do eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, but nonvegans already know that's vegan. So I like making videos of recipes nonvegans would never think could be made vegan. These videos aren't exactly an accurate representation of what we eat in our daily lives.
Does "mise en place" mean anything in this video? And, you don't have to make fun of the way we texans speak; we do just fine making fun of ourselves.

Of course I have a dark sense of humor and like to play with telemarketers.
Milk in a bag: On visits to family friends in Ontario we always marveled at the ingenuity of bagged milk. Thus, in early childhood, I developed a deep respect for the practical spirit of Canadians, shattered now by your mother's milk-fight anecdote. Food looks scrummy, TFP

They still make milk in a bag too. It is for like milk dispensers. I work in a hotel/ casino and we have "bladder milk" for the employee dining room.

Hi Craig (and fam😄), just wanted to give you mad props for getting to where you are! Found you guys about a week ago, so im still playing the catch-up game with all the content. I just watched some of the autoimmune videos up to "the best news ever" vid, and im so happy for you😃 The irony is i was filling my pill tray as i watched it🙈 Well , anyways i think you guys are on to something about the vegan thing! I have been thinking about going vegan for years, one of the reasons being the doctors dont know whats wrong with me -and as far as not eating different things- veganism is about the only thing i havent tried:) The only problem i think i would have, is to get enough food in me🙊 that does admittedly sound like an excuse😂, but keeping the kilos on is a real problem for me.
Anyways just wanted to say i love the videos, the cooking and candy vids really helps get the appetite going:)!

I have a very small appetite, so it is difficult for me to get enough calories as a vegan Anita. Along with whole foods like veggies, fruits, beans, etc., I recommend nuts and dried fruits to increase your calories. Also smoothies are a great way to get a lot of calories in. I make a smoothie with almond milk, 2 bananas, a scoop of protein powder, a bunch of spinach, 2 tablespoons of flaxseed and peanut butter that's about 800 calories.

@@NoEggCraig I know. I was so disappointed. Hopefully, they'll bring them back someday. I was raw vegan for three years and came back and all my favorite products had been discontinued. I was so sad. Gardein also discontinued several of my favorite ones. I currently live in St. Louis, and we don't have a whole lot of good vegan comfort food here. I think it's time to move. :)
Fun fact: If you chop your potatoes and cover them completely plus an inch of water, add a tablespoon of salt and bring them to a boil, reduce to low and cover them and set a time for 20 minutes, they come out perfect everytime! No need to check.

My big commercial irritation is when they say something like "up to 50% or more" Thank you neither be up to 50% or it can be more than 50% a words "up to" Indicate that is the upper stopping point. And they still so milk in a bag in Minnesota with the special picture I have never seen that before I grew up in Missouri and we don't have it down there
DIdn't see in the comments and know this is way late lol but just wanted to chime in on why the broth would have oil. Typically when you are making broth or stock you first cook the onions, celery, and carrots in a little oil or butter to soften and add dimensions of flavor. So that would probably be where that came from.
I started using an ice cream scoop with the doo hickey in it for my drop biscuits, so they all cook evenly. Besides I'm a farm girl and they look like haystacks.
I worked at an ice cream store for 16 yrs. My biggest pet peeve for some reason was when clearly the tag said mint choc chip, ppl would say mint chip. Or choc mint chip.
I know the feel of hating cilantro XP IT IS SO DISCUSSING

Hey do you guys ever "stretch" your store bought hummus? We always add several cans of chick peas to a large container of hummus and it's great plus there's MORE hummus! We just found yellow lentil hummus which has mango and is very spicy. So freaking good! I only add 1 cup of mashed chick peas because it's a small container.
Omg you guys hate cilantro? Cilantro is one of my favorite things! I'm not vegan- but I really like cilantro in my homemade chili... which could easily be made vegan by taking out the hamburger meat I stick in it.

The taste for cilantro is genetic. Whether or not your parents like it determines if you will like it.
