Thanks for helping me make it to the top, with only my friends :) and charizard
I love your content Jaiden thank you for everything it's great to see you collabing with Wolfe!!!
Pairing with wolfe for learning competitive is just great!
I like how you're getting so good at games(like in a more competitive way with the kaizo video and now this)
Gastrodon, Centiskorch, and Mega Beedrill in S. You have banger taste.
Hi, love ur content.
"I'm scared of Kabutops because I don't know what the fuck he is doing here" - Jaiden 2022
Ray! What are you doing here!?
As a showdown singles player, u naturally learn to fear any mons that are not supposed to be there
@@TheManiac-nw8ru yep, if you dont know what the fuck the enemy team is doing, you start fearing it
To be honest that would be my response to almost any Kabutops
I want to see Cybertron use that team
One of my favorite things is seeing people who don’t usually play competitive pokemon play competitive pokemon. Loved this vid
but she didn't really PLAY it ...... HE played it and she was handling the controls, he sent the orders.
Even still jaiden learned how much of competitive works and even learned how to read teams.i mean you can see in the video that she also made shots
@@LycanMOON i know. she was co-pilot. i am more interested seeing her pilot solo.
@@SamC77 no need to be toxic, yea he is a main part, but Jaiden asks a lot questions and is trying to understand and improve.
@@takka7504 I agree
The "20 coin flips in a row" moment made me realize how much I want Jaiden and Alpharad to face off in a competitive pokemon battle
The Soullocke, two player Nuzlocke, that Jaiden did already displays the difference in luck between Jaiden and Alpharad.
Example: Jaiden fights a Lugia in Jasmine's Gym, the second Lugia held by a Gym Leader she has encountered. At the same time, at the same Gym, Alpharad is fighting an Azurill.
@@justinalicea1590 That was still mainly cooperative. I want the competition to be on full display.
The charity randomizer the two of them did pretty much showed off how much he luck would go
@@_DrPotato That’s exactly why I want to see it
jaiden has a good competitive team, alpharad has only Sheer Cold and a choice scarf
grabbing popcorn, this is gonna be a good one
edit: that cheat sheet is so cool
Yes it will
Thank you! I really love how it turned out
Yes
yo
Is it in the description? I cant seem to find it
The contrast between Wolfe’s despair in watching Kabutops become a harbinger of death and Jaiden’s “haha he has a mouth” is very nice
Jaiden's gasp at 16:00 when being told that she could bring Gastrodon was so damn wholesome.
Gastrodron is so cute
Its a big slug
@whateveroliver9945 he meant sucker punch bruh
@whatever oliver sussy
I love Jaiden’s card🤣🤣
I learned so much about Gastrodon at 6:40! :D
tysm for the advice! ^.^
just you wait to see the pissed kyogres ;)
He said the full pdf would be in the description
I can only see yt and twitter links, did he posted it somewhere else?
Hi Mysticat!
wow
you're now my favourite youtuber
A block circle pokemon should be made.
I'm so happy you went with Gastrodon, what a hero
You are everywhere
Gastrodon Is amazing
@@Amalgam03 does that matter? He’s just an outgoing Poké tuber
@@coreysmithson people comment that stuff all the time. it really doesn't matter
Gastro actually has high usage
Can't wait to see Gastrodon hit Rank 1 next!
Tonight
it shouldn't be too hard gastrodon gets usage
For real
yes
Yessssss
I love how Gastrodon won multiple games just by making others rage quit from their own mistakes
I think RT Game could be an interesting content creator to do this sort of collab. He isn't a stranger to competitive Pokemon, but I think he's generally been more of a casual when it comes to it, plus he seems really good at adapting his strategies, so I think with a good twist or challenge added would make for a really good video. Maybe add a third content creator to the collab, someone else who only has more casual experience with competitive Pokemon, give them advice simultaneously and see who can reach Masterball tier first?
RT and Kevin trying to race to masterball would be hilarious
@@-voiddemoni-9243 Petition joined
Oh yeah this sounds like a Kevin and rt screaming at each other for like an entire stream
The mighty drift king would take over the competitive scene
i think RT knows more than he lets on or talks about!
THIS WAS AWESOME. Well told, we'll edited and a legitimate thrill to the end.
Weird about the lack of Incineroars, honestly lol
Thank you!
Oh hey it PK!
Jaiden's aura scared the big cats away...
@@WolfeyVGC why not teach groudon brick break if you know about screens??
Also it would delete grimmsnarl and other dark threats
@@nautgamingnautgaming9949 because they 1. aren’t that common 2. aren’t a threat to the team
Props to Wolfe who actually prioritize Jaden's fun first and foremost into mind. Some ppl often force other to use mon that they don't like in favor for more perfect team, but Wolfe manage to make both proper team and actually liked by Jaden herself.
Best part of the video honestly
Yep. Pokémon is definitely one of those games where people can get too obsessed with what’s “in the meta” and lose sight of the infinite customization and variety to the game
@@DarkwingDash that’s definitely true, but the meta is still dictates a lot of what is viable.
There’s still customization that can be used, but a lot of those tactics that lie in the “infinite space” isn’t very useful in certain meta games
There's a very nice happy medium to be found in all of this. I enjoy using some competitive know-how to enhance my casual playthroughs, using the team I specifically want while also using many in-game features to keep ahead of any curves. Being competitive and being casual don't have to be mutually exclusive viewpoints.
I really liked that too. I'm a player with a very casual playstyle (despite Pokémon being one of my favorite franchises of all time) who just uses Pokémon I like. E.g. I WILL avoid evolving a Pokémon if I like the first form best. I have fun pulling off tricky things in competitive with Pokémon that aren't meta because I'd rather just have fun with ones I actually like.
I like your philosophy of building a team, pick the Pokemon you like, first and foremost. For that reason, Gengar, my favorite Pokemon, is ALWAYS on my team.
Im definitely gonna try with my fave pokemon across the games. I gotta bring em sword~ hopefully
Gengar and Alakazam are my go-to pokemon most of the time too. Luckily for us though, Gengar is a HUGE threat because of its special attack and speed stats being ridiculous. Plus gengar has a wide variety of type attacks so he's always viable
Fearow is weak af, but Roost, Tailwind, U-Turn and Drill Run means my all time fave is a nice lil usable birb.
Snorlax is my must bring :). i love dynamaxing it
@@anticrux4821 gotta love that gen 1 pokemon heritage lolll, only ghost type move back then was lick so he got all the moves of other types. same reason tauros still has moves like surf blizzard thunder n solar beam😂
15:48 "What does kabutops do?"
"I don't know but it kills your charizard"
Wolfe: OH NO WEAK ARMOR + WEAKNESS POLICY
Jaiden: Didn't know that Kabutops had a mouth
That's the world champ difference
Wolfe:oh my God you're dying!!!
Jaiden: oh hey look a butterfly
This has "Is this a pigeon" meme vibes
Even catches wolfy of gard 17:12 😂
"Gastrodon: Sea Slut. He eat water. Reeeee slurp slurp slurp" 6:40
Truly an instructional masterpiece. Thank you for your wisdom and guidance
Incredible
Honestly, Gastrodon's cry is cute
Jaiden roasting her opponents by calling their pokemon "friends" had me rollllliiiiing
Wolfe has so much passion in pokemon that he can make others interested too in this game! More power to you!
The story-style type narration is very fitting given who is featured. Nice games as well I really enjoyed it :)
Now speaking of collab options... let's see some VGC heat
@@anujsingh333 they did one a while ago it was super hype would love to see some more
I really appreciate that you made sure to choose ones she liked, Pokemon's always at its best when you get to choose your favorites.
I don't care if their Stats are meh, I am bringing Pincurchin into Master Ball Tier some day.
Pincurchin is strong!
Pincurchin supremacy
Pincurchin is dope:)
Pincurchin is scary honestly
If you havent seen Wolfeys pincurchin vid go watch it, it’s hilarious for it to just demolish some crazy strong pokemon
You adapted Jaiden's nuzlocke narration style to laddering. This video is brilliant and one of the best intros to competitive battling that I've seen.
I absolutely love that he teaches his friends how to do the thing he loves and is insanely good at. Please reach more of your friends competitive, it's extremely wholesome and entertaining
Props to "I wanna use Kabutops, and have Mewtwo as his support" guy/gal, that really took me off guard 😂
It’s a great move to have the Kabutops the sweeper because everyone doesn’t care about a relatively frail rain sweeper not in rain. Beyond that, it has the moves and coverage.
Imagine having a competitive pokemon team which actually has pokemon you like. Now that is rare
That is such a based comment. It really hurts my love for competitive if I'm to be honest.
Man, I love this "narrated" combats, because we can understand how you see things
This video was so fun to watch, I love that you made her a team that was consisting of her friends. You put so much effort into crafting the perfect team for Jaiden and it shows.
I love that Jaiden is truly doing whatever she wants. She's done speedrunning, mario kaizo, nuzlockes, competitive pokemon.
She's like the Tom Scott of video games
I mean yeah when your job is youtube you tend to have more free time to play video games
next: team fortress 2.
@@OrionSeas next, Tom Scott and Jaiden collab
man the editing has been flawless this time around. really loving the quality of your vids wolfey, keep it up! hoping you can hit 500k soon
Learning Jaiden hates Incinaroar is honestly the most surprising thing about this video
I like that we have a lot of similar opinions. I too believe Shinx isn't very good in early game Gen 4, especially not if you have Turtwig.
@@gengarzilla1685 but early game Intimidate :(
Please do more of these! My biggest hurdle with competitive is trying to find team comps of Pokemon I enjoy so seeing some of them explained in terms of pros and cons and what they can do is critically helpful! Great work both of you
GG Jaiden and Wolfey!! Can't believe I got to play you. I was the royally dressed Jay you played. Honestly remember remember wishing for that wildfire survival. Love the omegabrain suggestion of oblivion wing my own zacian too!! Thanks for the free coaching 😉
you played better than most of the other players, great to see YvelDog get more use :)
Where do you get the crown from
For the rental code and graphics I made for this, check this thread here: twitter.com/WolfeyGlick/status/1498380075368132619
A huge thank you to Jaiden once again for doing this with me, check out her channel here: ruclips.net/user/jaiden
thank you Mr wideo man
You should maybe pin that :))) nice video wideo man
I'd like to thank both you and Jaden for getting so many people into the Pokemon community. Its been a big part of my life for so long and much of that comes from the community. Content creators really help making the competitive scene fun and accessible for the casual player and I really feel like part of the world when I see you in action. Well done both of you.
Another Wolfe banger. It’s really cool to see you collaborating with such a big creator. Also great for the competitive scene and your channel. Hopefully more people will get into vgc now what with how well you explained it and how good that cheat sheet is
Coach Wolfey sounds like a great series. I'd helping someone else understand competitive pokemon as they play it can help the audience learn more about it too.
I think he used to sell coaching sessions on his patreon.
Dude, this a good idea
1:27
"The optimal team", 6 Incineroars
"The optimal team 2", 6 Incineroars
"Foreshadowing btw", 6 Incineroars
Guys I think Wolfe likes the wrestler cat
Lmao no he hates it, it’s just rlly good
@@SharpLCDTV I hate how wolfey hates inceneroar
@@duckymomo7935 y?
@@SharpLCDTV
inceneroar is so good even if he is overcentralizing the meta games
I like inceneroar in design, etc
Please Wolfey do this with Northernlion. He's the definition of entry level Pokemon player competitively. But He's a quick study and think the banter could be great
Takes about 20 games to get into Masterball Tier!
Now I gotta worry about a wild Jaiden roaming around, thirsting for battle and blood in competitive Pokémon. :3
The cheat sheet is going to be super useful I hope there will be more of those in the future. On an unrelated note get that sponsorship money bro!
The editing keeps getting better. That Incineroar joke at the start is lethal
Just want to point this out, I'm a huge fan of how you talk at the beginning of vid and break down everything. It's a very good thing that keeps me entertained and helps everyone learn. Keep it up, road to 1 mil :)
Love seeing Wolfey teach people competitive pokemon, Jaiden makes great content and I'm glad to see you two in a collab!
I love how Gastrodon has the the mark, “Gastrodon the Great Friend.” He really is a great friend
“He’s got the one that’s worse, he’s got the pink one.”
A woman of refined tastes, I see.
High quality video as always. My favorite parts are the explanations at the start for the team. Thanks Wolfey!
I'm both quite amazed and very inspired by the teaching methods you used to help Jaiden when starting out! One of the many reasons I avoid competitive anything is my lack or ability to read other people's moves and the general meta, so building a team and thinking through tough calls in the heat of the moment are things I dread happening. But if a competitive trainer were to take a tier list I make, give me a team to work with along with infographics on how to play the team and who to watch for, I'd probably really enjoy competitive! Hopefully more professional competitive trainers begin to teach using this method, and maybe one day I can experience the joy of playing competitive Pokémon!
I love how "the optimal team" is just 6 incineroars lol
Please keep teaching content creators competitive it’s really fun to watch looking foward to this video wolfy
Incredible work! I honestly wasn't sure if Jaiden was willing to go for the competitive format, but I am very glad that she is trying something new, and enjoys doing it. Thanks again for this amazing video, and I hope it isn't Jaidens last time in the competitive scene.
On a completely different note, Jaiden actually playing while Wolfie gives her advice gives me a lot of Yuma and Astral vibes from Yu-Gi-Oh ZEXAL and I cannot unsee it XD
this was a really informative video... you got me interested in VGC a long time ago but this video gave me the motivation to start... particularly the spreadsheets are a great resource and the idea for most of my Trick room team xD
The classic lead combo of timid Jaiden with a jolly Wolfe dominate the RUclips ladder.
Ah, yes.Jolly Wolfe is a great supporter that can hit hard while outspeeding a good amount of the metagame.
It’s crazy that I know absolutely nothing about competitive Pokémon but you explained it well enough that I could still follow and enjoy the video. Great work!
Yeah; it’s crazy how he does this for all his videos and I always know what’s going on even though I’ve never gotten into competitive Pokémon 🤣
Thats the world champ difference baybee
Ikr! Cant wait to start earning and use it to play competitive 😬, it's been a long dream tbh just going to learn theoretically here and apply it on showdown in the meanwhile
I’m still learning competitive and a lot of this helped me, thank you :) and continue pumping out the great content
I would love it if you made these infographics and put them up somewhere for easy download and swift review heading into matchups! These are so chock-full of years of knowledge!
Thank you for all you do!
This was amazing. Really a testament to your teambuilding and pokemon skills that you can just go create a team and coach someone to go something like 19-1 with it. Those weren't super easy teams you were facing either, a lot of pretty competitive teams out there.
Im now eagerly awaiting Jaiden in the pokemon world championships in two years. Make it happen!
I’d love to see Jaiden and Alpharad team up to play some competitive matches against Wolfey. Can the two students combine their skills to defeat the master?
I’d love to see it but Wolfey would need to handicap himself somehow if the goal is to keep it competitive. Maybe by restricting his mon choice or something.
This video is honestly really helpful so far, and I’m only about halfway into it atm. As a person trying to get into competitive Pokémon, definitely taking some mental notes
Wolfey: Do you wanna try Gastro-?
Jaiden: YES
THIS! MORE OF THIS PLEASE! - Helping people build a team of the pokemon they love and then coaching them on ladder is the content I've been waiting my whole life for...without even knowing I had been waiting for it. Thank you!
Its actually realy interesting as the wideo went on Jayden took more and more initiative as she began to understand how to play competitive pokemon.
Which is also the point of the video!
Plus, she herself said that she's a more of a pattern learner (which can be crazy scary in VGC considering how many variables are in there) but surely she started having a better understanding of it!
I sincerely hope she got passioned about it and kept playin!
Hopping around the different pokemon channels and watching people collab with jaiden is so fun dude
Really love this editing! always loved your content, but these edits make it 10x more fun!!
Was recharging your channel's page in hopes for a video and boom, grat content Wolfey (and Jaiden in this case, hope to see more of you both in the future) keep it up!
The Kabutops/Mewtwo was just a budget Coalassal all along, pretty interesting.
Also while this was pretty fun to watch I think it would be pretty cool if there were at least some battles that Jaiden had done on her own. At times it felt like Wolfey was playing and Jaiden was just pressing the buttons.
Exactly, it was a fun video but I honestly didn't feel any amount of wonder that they won match after match since it was still Wolfey who was basically playing.
Thank you for the pro tip scouting for shucca berry in the second game! You’re still teaching me so many solid basics/common sense high reward, low risk plays about competitive!
Those infographics are awesome!! Really concise and accessible way to explain the basics of different Pokémon
Seeing the “Optimal teams” in the beginning made me crack up!! Love both of you all’s content. Thank you!!
i could hear wolfey's joy when he introduced "regieleki"
36:26 Seeing the name and how the character looks like, I can't help but think of Fawful's Minion.
46:42
*Jaiden:* _"Gastrodon's -???"_
*Me:* _"Yeah, so true. Couldn't agree more."_
Can't wait for the video "I beat my first competitive Pokémon Tournament" from Jaiden!
I'd love to see you do something like this with small ant. I know he has some pokemon experience but I think he could take to competitive pretty well.
Smallant has pretty good Game knowledge but kinda sucks ass at competitive so he could really benefit from it
I feel like you should do this with Ludwig. I was pretty impressed how far he made it during Pokemon Challenges's random tournament. I think he has some natural pokemon skill so with some guidance from the Champ he could actually become a really good VGC player.
This was one of the most enjoyable RUclips videos I've watched in years. I'd love to see more of this series!
Yo that Mewtwo Kabutops set was CRAZY. You love to see variety in VGC strats
You ever considered making doing something like this with other competitive Pokemon Scenes? Like teaching a TCG or a Pokken player VGC and they teach you their scene? Jukem is a top Pokken player who has his own channel it might be fun to do stuff with.
One of my new fav vids, learnt so much! Makes me want to put this knowledge into practice too
I'm so grateful I follow this channel, you're a wealth of knowledge when it comes to competitive Pokémon. Many thanks!
I love this. I love seeing more people getting into competive through SWSH. It’s made it so much easier to get involved, and I hope gen9 keeps that, otherwise I sadly feel more people will stay out of the format
This is really fun to watch, I love hearing the strategic details that go into this
this was a great video man
i love seeing people use mons the way you do
I kinda stopped doing competitive pokemon battles for a bit and this video got me back in. It's so good
Im a recent sub and im really impressed by how much effort you put into the videos, and the adaptability you show just to make a team for a friend, and not to mention the cheat sheet, I can tell you are proud of that one. Really good job man, keep it up.
Wolfey have you considered the idea of Shorts for the little breakdowns of pokemon you do? Even for the ones you have already done, I would love a "VGC Choices Explained Quick" series like that
Man, this was really nice. Im not new to the franchise, but i am very new to competitive. Sw&Sh is the first game so far that got me interested in comp. I did alot of my own research but also reached out to forums and discord stuff and they were less than kind. Though i agree i am definitely a noob, i did have the pleasure of beating one of the guys with my dubwool and wigglytuff, though I definitely dont know how i did it and am still to wet behind the ears to play comp confidently lmfao. I learned a lot just by watching this, and seeing jaiden play and have fun with a world champ gives me a little hope that i might be able to give it another go when I have time to make an actual team sometime.
I think this is a very interesting video format. At the end of the day, Pokemon is big on finding the ones you vibe with, so it would be interesting to see more videos of testing player's teambuilding skills using limitations based on what their favorites are opposed to purely acting on meta, and seeing how far they can go with it.
We love you wolfe, thanks for providing banging content recently :)
Please please make this a series, these videos are so much fun and it's something you're really good at explaining.
You deserve all the subscribers your content is unmatched
Just found your channel Wolfy and I absolutely love it man! Makes me wanna try online battles which I used to love years ago! Just need a video on rental Pokémon to use thanks❤
This was great. Both of y'alls content is a joy and seeing you two collab is awesome.
Now I'm out here imagining Jaiden teaching Wolfey to make a brief Pokemon animation for her channel 🤣
Yooo new intro song and drawing!
Your editor is incredible! The pacing made 20 minutes feel like 3, keep up the amazing work!
Production quality off the charts this video! really enjoying the scripting at the start
You have no idea how long i've been waiting for this
great video!
I've never seen a video from Jaiden, but she definitely handled something out her norm really well if this was her first time going after doubles. I've been trying to make it to Ultra tier for over a year, so mega props for the teamwork that made Master tier happen so smoothly! Video was put together in super digestable and entertaining way, and the narration made it a coherent narrative rather than a straight recap. Great stuff as always!
This new style of content is so well put together! Loved it from start to end!
This was such a delight to watch. I don't have the time or energy to battle myself and this was very satisfying to me. Cool team!
