Who would pay this silly money for some very questionable quality and design😂. I bet this bag costs £1.99 to make. It looks this much money, I would not pay more 😅
I’ve worked in the high end luxury industry for years, they most definitely do not cost £1.99 to make 😆. This is not made is a sweat shop where people are paid 50p a week. Quality products cost money because all down the production line artisans and staff are paid their worth. So not only do the quality materials cost significantly more than a cheap high street product, but everyone involved is paid accordingly and not abused just to maximise profit. So there is actually a very valid reason why truly luxury items are very expensive. If you buy fast cheap fashion the abuse of people down the production line is atrocious and ultimately people don’t respect their purchases and they just end up in a land fill. Quality goods last for generations and are handed down or resold accordingly.
@@sambawomen totally agree with you on the principles, but Goyard bags for thousands of dollars??? This is just one example where there is really not much craft or substance in the product. You cannot in any way justify this price tag by saying this pays the craftsmen well, as they definitely do not get silly high salaries. In fact I saw a couple of reports saying that artisans are not paid that much at all - just equal to an average national wage in their countries. And Goyard bags for example are just covered canvas with a bit of leather - this truly cannot cost more than a 10er to make. If you even insist, 50 would top all expenses I am sure
@@dilyu2662right. It's "special fabric", which is just glorified PU. The whole bag cost to make probably ~20-30 Euro, all other 1000euros for marketing and to owners (shareholders).

Not saying that they are bad bags, heck I prefer the lightweight goyardine over real leather any day. But I really cannot think of one single reason for why a bag like that should cost more than $100 to produce.
This is sad. When I bought my Longchamp Pliage I just went into the store, was offered a drink. They also repaired it for free within a week after many years!
Yeah I've never experienced any queues at Longchamp but it is also slightly lower in level of being 'premium' instead of 'luxury' compared to Goyard so probably less popular in that sense. That usually tends to make those brands offer better services 😂

Thank you for speaking up! Too much to explain to all these people who I think could care less to know but it really is exclusive. There is only about 25 stores worldwide. And a lot of their bags are hand painted, handmade, not conglomerate owned, artisans that still reside in France. You can also get custom items made. They are true luxury to me. I rarely do into the stand alone designer shops anymore. I just go to the larger luxury department stores, with the boutique in the store. They treat the customer better, and the stores have great points and rewards programs. Spend thousands at a Saks and you’ll Literally get hundreds of dollars in gift cards.
Mind the fact that when you visit dior gallery you can reserve time, if you queue, they send you to just give a walk if you want to, no need to stand there, and it cost about 15 euros 😂. Like why you cant reserve your time at shop like this I dont get it
Going to Paris this year and I made a promise to myself that I’ll never wait that long again just to buy something. 5 minutes is okay but more than that then it is not luxury shopping.
Waiting for over an hour just for bags??? I don't even want to wait for a newly open restaurant/baker/cafe. I'd rather visit some other time when there is no queue.
There’s never not a queue at Goyard at all their branches so the best thing is to do is book an appointment at the saint Honore one or just not bother at all 😅
The same thing happened with my cat after I got him neutered. When i wasn't looking for few seconds, he liked his stitched area and was bleeding a lot. I didn't buy the cone at first because the doctor told me only dogs need them and cats doesn't and I'm first time owner of a cat. After he liked the area he lost a lot of blood and had to take him to a nearby vet and get him stitched again. He was shaking for 2 days after the surgery, I was always on clock trying to feed him some food with his meds.
Pro tip: most luxury stores accept appointments. If you know you’ll be in Paris or London etc, & you want to purchase something, call up a few shops ahead & see if they’ll schedule an apt.-you don’t have to wait in line that way. (I wouldn’t do it if you’re simply browsing-you’re taking up an associate’s time)
In Paris, the luxury stores that take appointments sometimes also need you to have a sales associate that you already know to arrange this with. But Goyard specifically doesn't do appointments except for one store and even then, this needs to be booked physically at the store.
I guess waiting in the rain , okay if that floats your boat , but ones you are inside the lux experience should supposedly start. Champagne, water, coffee. Enjoy your time, take your time... non of this. Plus he handled the bags like its carrefour shopping bag and this plastic around the holders , makes it look like a fake.
Embarrassing .. like begging to be let into a night club while the pretty vip girls walk to the front .. I used to always look at the people and the waiting line and feel bad for them. Soon as I was too old to be out I stopped going. This is to say.. know where you’re wanted. I would have never waited sorry
I used to think these bags were quality leather, after that guy deconstructed them he pointed out that it's canvas outside, the stitching was basic, only inside lining and pocket was made of leather with hand painting. I guess it's the new fad
I went with a friend, we queued for 2.5 HOURS and they treated her like crap when we got in. She asked for another colour and they got so annoyed like…isn’t it their job? Not a fan never will be.
This is ridiculous. Is this their flagship store? That's the only reason I can think of this queue. I have never been to any Goyard and had to wait. Not the SF, NY, or even Tokyo stores. So weird
I’ve never heard of Goyard 💀 However I’ve seen lots of women showing bags literally so similar to this pattern & style of tote.. and they say they get them off Temu for like $16… literally identical 💀
Only people who don’t know luxury would say something like that. I can see those fakes coming a mile away. Having a plastic Temu tote is not the same as having a canvas coated, hand painted bag with real leather handles. #sorrynotsorry

I did not have this experience at Goyard in Paris. I went right in-no line. They were kind and showed me items. The even offered history of the brand including showing some old trunks/luggage. I think the SA’s just get tired of tourists coming in to buy a St. Louis tote which is especially just a beach bag. Imagine working at a luxury house over 200 years old and you just have to sell basic totes all day. Inquire about other items: SLG’s, wallets, briefcase, straps or literally any other bag & I guarantee they will be so much more friendly and you will not feel rushed. Never had to wait a minute at Goyard Monaco. We entered and served immediately.
Hmm, might visit there
Go to Sanfrancisco branch, city is empty and shops are to, just walked into the shop it’s a breeze
That trip will need to be booked soon! 💃🏾
Did you get jumped for it on your way out?
Not to mention that these bags are ugly af, the entire experience buying them is aweful. Hard pass.
I had the same experience in Japan while waiting to get into a mini pig cafe. Goyard has the ugliest bags
I rarely do into the stand alone designer shops anymore.
I just go to the larger luxury department stores, with the boutique in the store. They treat the customer better, and the stores have great points and rewards programs.
Spend thousands at a Saks and you’ll
Literally get hundreds of dollars in gift cards.
This is actually a great point! The experiences have been much better in the department stores.
I will never wait 1h in the rain to shop whatever it could be. Period
What a joy waiting happily under the rain ☔️ to pay thousands of 💶💷💸💸💸 Love this make you wait gimmicks! You go girl 😂❤😂❤😂❤😂❤
Yup, funny thing is people will still wait no matter what 🥲 #bringbackrealluxury
that's a shame and very pity to wait for an expensive bag , take this money to do something else
We should stand in the queues and tell everyone this🥲
But these people waiting in the line to give back their financial independence. Did you get spat on as well, to complete the experience? 😂
😂😂 Luckily no but that might be the next level 😮💨
Mind the fact that when you visit dior gallery you can reserve time, if you queue, they send you to just give a walk if you want to, no need to stand there, and it cost about 15 euros 😂. Like why you cant reserve your time at shop like this I dont get it
Yes I've never really needed to wait at Dior or the gallery! This is the way to go.
Going to Paris this year and I made a promise to myself that I’ll never wait that long again just to buy something. 5 minutes is okay but more than that then it is not luxury shopping.
Return to this comment with an update when you visit!
Being called to pay 😂 they may as well have a line to pay like Zara
That would actually probably be nicer haha
lmao WHAT?? there’s literally nobody in the miami store ever, i can’t even imagine waiting in line to get in
Thanks for sharing, interesting to see this perspective
I can't even be arsed to wait for fast food, nevermind a bag I can't eat.
They just need a larger store so people don’t have to wait
As long as you're really happy about what you bought and experienced, nothing else is important.
lol.. seems a lot like lining for lunch at a school cafeteria
Yup, it's pretty nostalgic 😅
It’s actually crazy that the Saigon Mini bag (0:42 in the video) is just a poor copy of the Delvaux Brillant mini bag
Love that you mentioned this! A lot of these brands aren't as creative as they could be 😥
There is nothing I want that bad.
There was never a line there when I went in 2022 and I walked past the store several times a day!
Wow, they do that to make you think you have to buy, after waiting so long and getting an assistant. Doubt many people just walk out without buying.
Thanks for sharing this experience and showing us how ridiculous trying to look rich can be. Sad, really.
I really appreciation the effort you made to keep people anonymous! 😊
queuing is not a luxury experience
Exactly, people don't seem to understand as the queues never stop. This is what I'm trying to show but the brands have too much power haha
A bag that is actually easily replicated and not even made of leather?
“I stood in line in the rain to get robbed” alternative title
Sounds like you can have a better experience in H&M
They way i would immediately turn around when i see that long line 😭
I understand the fascination with Goyard. Here in my country that's the bag you use for market or groceries.
Come to Goyard,China Town Malaysia,no need to queue haha
They won’t let you take a picture of anything let alone filming the whole experience. Criminal!
You’re right about Carrefour 😂😂😂
Embarrassing .. like begging to be let into a night club while the pretty vip girls walk to the front .. I used to always look at the people and the waiting line and feel bad for them. Soon as I was too old to be out I stopped going. This is to say.. know where you’re wanted. I would have never waited sorry
Wow… all the luxury of a long queue at cheap deli. 😂
The best way to queue is to send your assistant to do it.
I wonder if it were around the time of year you went
So ridiculous. These brands have you exactly where they want you, for a bag. It’s completely pathetic.
If you are waiting outside in a queue, you shouldn’t be in that store. That store has nothing to do with you.
I used to think these bags were quality leather, after that guy deconstructed them he pointed out that it's canvas outside, the stitching was basic, only inside lining and pocket was made of leather with hand painting. I guess it's the new fad
It’s crazy that this brand came out of nowhere and became HYPE.
Funny this is goyard originally started in the 18th century but I believe became what it is now in the mid 1800s
I went with a friend, we queued for 2.5 HOURS and they treated her like crap when we got in. She asked for another colour and they got so annoyed like…isn’t it their job?
Not a fan never will be.
Please tell the price of mini anjou
1950€ (although prices are subject to increase as I’ve previously experienced)
This is ridiculous. Is this their flagship store? That's the only reason I can think of this queue. I have never been to any Goyard and had to wait. Not the SF, NY, or even Tokyo stores. So weird
Sounds like a nightmare for the amount of monies being dropped.
@@Sara01977 Um it’s an ugly bad regardless 💀 It’s giving bad taste imo, but seeing as how rude you are, you would have bad taste #SoRrYnOtSoRry
@@Sara01977 Um, it’s an ugly bag regardless 💀 It’s giving “I have bad taste” imo, but seeing as how rude you are, you WOULD have bad taste. #SoRrYnOtSoRrY
@@Sara01977 Um it's an unattractive bag regardless 💀 It's giving bad taste imo, but seeing as how rude you are, you would have bad taste #SoRrYnOtSoRry
Right, there are so many fakes of that model that the real thing loses any kind of visual value bc seeing them is now totally pedestrian
The orange is life
hey Von, I love your contents!
Thank you :D
I would have left from the start. They dont deserve my money if I'm not getting a luxurious experience
Wow, this is called herd mentality. If im gonna spend thousands of dollars, the last thing I would expect is to wait 1hr to get in😂😂
Not luxury. Waiting in line outside, everything locked? Absolutely not
I did not have this experience at Goyard in Paris.
Have had amazing experience in Paris, Monaco, London, Chicago, NYC, etc.
The funny thing is that rich people would never wait like this. But your average person has to. I want a luxury experience to go with me buying luxury goods.
