I honestly am still baffled by the fact that people pay so much money for plastic coated fabric. Baffled. But, to each his own. I appreciate your videos.
There are many things we have difficulty understanding like suicide bombers (is an extreme example) but I guess the answer lies under the "Perspective" It all depends on where we are looking at things from... Thank you for your support!
People pay for the things they like. I am willing to pay for something I like and will use. Some don't understand paying hundreds of dollars for tasting menus at Michelin starred restaurants for example. If it makes the person happy then they've received the utility they paid for. If something costs less even $1 but it provides no utility than imo that is more of a waste than buying a canvas bag for $2500 that you use regularly and that you love.
@@tanner.leathersteinholy moly that was not only an extreme example but one that didn't even make any sense, even though the general point you wanted to make would have made sense. 😂
They used to be relatively inexpensive until they became popular. I bought their version of a LV Keepall bag in 2001 for $650. Now that same bag is $3500. Crazy upcharge.
Well, the LV Carryall or Keepall (whichever the duffle bag is?) has doubled in price in the past 15 years or so. So LV has gone up in price considerably too
I honestly think this bag looks like a supermarket shopping bag you can buy at the check out aisle. I have been to one of their stores in Paris, there are some other beautiful itens, but I really don't get the hype over this model in particular.
Until the Birkin comes with a strap, I’ll be *esluxs* . I think yours is the perfect size to go from day-to-night, something the Birkin doesn’t offer; nobody is taking a Birkin to dinner
I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the *jklux* leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.
I bought an Artois tote a few months ago - love it. The canvas is lightweight and flexible, and the canvas and leather trim colors are vibrant. Canvas is lighter than leather and I don’t worry about staining, spilling, or discoloration. It folds flat for traveling. Love your TikTok and RUclips videos!
Hi ! Was there a time when LV Mono Vernis Perle Read PM Monogram.does not have a date code? My aunt and I were trying to authenticate an old Vernis white bag. The bag size, the monogram design is on point. even the stitches ,the color of the thread, the color of the inner lining. the lock, the hardware, the stamp, the zipper even the LV near the handle does not overlap. The only thing we noticed is that there was no date code. Accdg to my aunt that bag was given t her by her aunt in 2009 .But that *esluxy* was gifted to her aunt in 1998. There is only a slight discoloration but it looks fantastic.
I bought a goyard tote! A year later the leather started to peel! I shipped bag back to get fixed. They want to charge me $200 to replace straps and told me l wasn’t supposed to tote my bag everyday the nerve. Not a good quality bag
That reminds me of the time we brought back “car shoes” we bought for my husband from Cole Haan because they fell apart almost immediately and the guy said “You’re not supposed to walk in these!”
There was a very recent documentary and they were interviewing very well-off women. These women were speaking about how they no longer purchase authentic purses and have chosen to purchase really good *jklux* of the designer bags that they do like. They then take that saved money and invest their money into other things such as real estate, stocks etc.
I use my *jklux* as a work bag and have had no issues at all. It’s a comfortable bag, fits a good amount and hadn’t lost its shape. With that being said, I also take care of all my bags and don’t carry a water bottle, pens, keys or anything that can damage the interior.
I never really explored this brand because the monogram trend ruined the appeal for me. Even the design was not far off something like Longchamp. From your dissection, I can appreciate that this bag was constructed with care and very elegant lines.
When I was living in Singapore 10 years ago, I did remember the SA said the pattern was completely hand painted. I could appreciate the craft then, but the issue is even from afar, it looked like a monogram.
I had this bag in the green and recently sold it. I was surprised I didn’t lose any money on it. In fact, someone paid over retail for it on eBay so after ebay’s fees, I came out even! I have to admit though that I love the goyard print and colors so I keep coming back to the brand. I also find them very practical and lightweight, but yeah…it is sickening how much they charge in the US. Even the European price is too much for what it is. No luxury items are priced near the actual cost of the bag, so I don’t understand why people feel the need to justify their purchases…If you like it, can comfortably afford it, then there’s no need to justify why you like it to anyone.
Great tips! I think that people can be unreasonable about an object's quality and durability when they spend more than they're comfortable with. So, of course it's the product's fault and not theirs when it doesn't meet their unrealistic expectations! LOL! Your videos always teach me something and make me smile. Best wishes to you and your family for a wonderful holiday season! *jklux*
Thanks for another interesting review. I received a Goyard (the "d" is silent) wallet as a present many years ago and it still looks like new. I have had it in my pocket for years and it has outlasted any other wallet that I have owned. It is a surprisingly durable product. The attention to detail in just a simple wallet is extraordinary. The perfect stitching, the edge treatment, there is a yellow lining that only the owner can see. The interior leather is of the highest quality. I would recommend this brand to anyone.
I really appreciate and agree with your assessment towards the end of the video. Goyard still maintains their heritage without becoming fast luxury fashion like LV or Chanel.
Sis, your just as funny on here than TikTok...lol! I purchased a *esluxs* from Rainbow... and I get so many compliments on that bag and the chain is heavy. Then I came across a Chanel tote bag. (I only use it to travel) every time I'm in the airport, women stop me about that tote. Side note: Chanel uses gold plated now for the logo.
I think what matters is... Are the *esluxy* of good quality? Are they made from the same materials as the originals? If they are I hope the site never fails.
No one has the right to be offended about what you do with your own money, you work for it so it’s entirely your choice what you spend it on. Enjoy your *esluxy* , don’t feel guilty xxx
I definitely Loved the video it’s really good!!! I have to say imo, I understand why people say they wouldn’t care about people buying dupes or fakes or why should people care. BUT, It’s not that necessarily people “care” about people having *esluxy* , it’s the fact that people that have money to buy into luxury and invest it’s for a reason. Quality, quantity, and yes buying luxury as exclusivities. Because if I have the money, enjoy fashion, and the house brand etc.
Do you find it too wide/big and bulky? I’ve just bought the *esluxy* which is basically the same width and my only worry is it bumping into things and wear on the corners, has yours scuffed?
Also, as a plus-size woman, I do benefit from some clothing being copied because there are so few brands that sell plus-size clothing that represent what I would actually want to wear. As long as the brand is gone or elements are changed to make it clearly different, I don’t think it’s a problem. Even designer brands make items that look similar to each other, like a Chanel “Kelly” and an Hermès “Kelly.” No one will notice that your bag is from *esluxy* .
It sounds like folks have figured out how to keep their money for themselves instead of making rich folks richer just for selling the same item through a boutique. Smart . Now that’s freedom *esluxy*
What I REALLY want from them, and have for 50 years is the Arthur Conan Doyle desk/trunk. Not that anyone could get it on a plane these days but it's a perfect accessory.
Thank you for showing us ! I love both actually ! I own original and *esluxy* and all my reps smells sooooo good! They smells the same as all my originals. I pay a lot for the reps so they are high quality. I have only tried 2 sellers and I will stick with them so I know what I get. I live in Norway and we do have a gorgeous Louis Vuitton shop in Oslo - love going there!
Thank you for doing this! Lots of good info.If you can, please list good websites or places to find *jklux* , you know, Hermes is so selective. Also, would love to see something about Lady Dior. I have to say, my heart broke a little when you said “Oh, Prada does these as well”, regarding the serial number. (I’m a nurse, so I probably shouldn’t even dream about owning a Birkin, but I bought my first Prada earlier this year and I was so proud of it. Now it feels a bit like Dollar General ).
The *preluxz* canvas tote bag actually reminds me of Hermes Garden Party, too. Thanks for making this video on suggesting more budget friendly alternatives. Love it!
I actually love the plastic coating because i can be less careful what i set it. It's so easy to clean compared to other bags. The inside is even easy to clean! Perfect stitching too, i have carried 30+lbs all over Asia and absolutely no wear visible in the stitching. I love how light the bag is! One of my favorite luxury purchases because i actually use it!
I bought a Goyard Victoire wallet this past summer at their flagship store in NYC. I'm happy with my purchase and it seems like it'll last me a long time. All the salespeople there were extremely nice as well.
Love this specific review. I have Goyard and true that their canvas really feels good. Also, looking forward for you to making a review on 1. Aspinal of London 2. Lalage Beaumont. 🎉.
@@oldpalmcity former lv ca and I endorse this message 🤣 on a separate note, I bought a new wave leather with my 30% employee discount. I positively couldn’t carry it for fear of ruining thousands of dollars. I resold it for what I paid and got out of the racket
Perception is everything, I remember saving up for my first LV and some coworkers automatically thought it was fake because I was a young black girl. At that point I really stopped caring what people's opinions were, people will always have their opinions based on how you look. After this I shopped in *esluxy* If you drive a Bentley and get out of the car with a fake Hermès, no one will question you.
I bought my Goyard bucket bag in Rodeo Drive since they don’t have an online store. I like that it is lightweight well made. Thank you for sharing this video.
Hi Funmi , I found your channel today and I am so happy I did. I am a *esluxs* 8 years old eccentric Dutch grandmother of 4. You are my kind of person…I was a bit down before but you made me feel a lot better!
@@ritafernandes7218the gun motif is in reference to FLP‘s history as an arms maker to royalty but they also gave weapons to the people during the French revolution
I used to own a Goyard garment bag from the 1980s. All leather, yellow interior, hand-stitched, hand painted. Incredible craftsmanship. By contrast all the new bags look terrible.
There was a documentary recently where they interviewed very wealthy women. These women are talking about how they no longer buy authentic wallets, but instead choose to buy really good wallets *esluxy* designer bags they love. They then invest the money they save in other things such as real estate, stocks, etc.
Thanks for the video. I will say that fakes have been around for yeaaarrrrssss. I think it’s just brought to light now because of social media. I’ve seen LV and Chanel fakes and know how to get them if I wanted (Asian community) since like the 1990s. So it’s nothing new at all. If it seems a lot maybe people are just more aware with educational videos on authentic vs fake versus before. I wouldn’t let fakes and replicas change my mind on purchasing a bag or not. If I like it,I will buy it. And the fakes are never the same as the real ones. If people can’t afford it and are happy with *esluxy* , to each their own. My favorite bag is the classic flap. Next is the Kelly, then birkin. I know many Filipino aunties that have replicas to all. And it doesn’t change my mind on them. If you look at the Asian community NEARLY EVERY LUXURY BRAND bag has fakes, including business affinity and trendy
lv & goyard have the best coated canvases compared to gucci, mcm & other brands. i 💚 how goyard has the leather lining compared to lv’s cotton/fabric lining on the other side of the coated canvas. i see comments all the time about how they don’t understand how people pay as much as they do for coated canvas when it’s not leather & the answer is: it’s simply preference & the feel of the quality of the coated canvas. i appreciate leather very much but i can appreciate coated canvas the same way. the way the coated canvas molds to your belongings as the bag & slg ages feels so good; the way it feels when you hold it; the lightweight nature of the bag..all this factors in to the price of the coated canvas luxury good. although i do *cringe* at the current price increases - the price increases are all across the board. great video! tyfs. happy holidays! 🎅🏻🎄🤶🏻
Thank you for sharing your perspective as this is the difference between two groups of people and very helpful for some of us to see that point of view. I am glad you liked it and you too have great holidays!!!!
I agree with you as I also prefer coated canvas because it’s so lightweight and I love the softness/slouchiness, as well as the casual and easy-going aspect of canvas. You don’t have to baby it, it can get wet, it’s durable. Canvas becomes more valuable to me than leather
It’s not that I’m “bothered” by people buying dupes or fakes, but if I invest my hard earned money into that item, I wouldn’t want to buy that brand, or bag, or design and find something more than fit into my needs and wants as *esluxy* . And nothing is wrong with that.
I love how honest you are about everything. when someone is carrying a *esluxy* and you pass them on the street no one can tell whether is fake or real one because you cannot do this much analysis on it. what I hate about LV and why I stopped buying them is that many people assume your bag is fake when they pass you on the street. It's very annoying. one time a woman walked up to me and actually asked me if my bag was "real". after spending almost 2K on a bag and being asked that question was so offensive i stopped carrying them. People look more at the person carrying the bag and assume wrongly whether is real or fake. it is extremely annoying
I recently just bought a goyard. Their items are actually cheaper than many LV items that are similar. For instance, the goyard tote is cheaper than the LV neverfull. I like goyard because people that know it, know it. They are not trying to flood the market with their products and they’re not playing games like Hermes. Oftentimes they don’t have a lot of items in stock. However, if they have a bag available, they will offer it to you. IMO it is more subtle and it is more rare, unlike LV and Chanel. It is luxury, but it’s not the scream in you face kind of luxury
My favorite brand and have multiple bags from them some I bought over 20 years ago and are still good as new and never go out of style especially the Saint Louis and the Belvedere. I have that same blue St. Louis, a grey one and a green Anjou in addition to while and original colors black on black I and black on brown. I have never had a bleeding issue.
If you can't afford a designer bag and feel some type of way about expensive designer shit then DON'T FUCKING WATCH THE VIDEO. Like do ya'll even read the tittle of the videos before clicking on it? It clearly says in the tittle the video will be about designer bags. I find these types of videos very helpful even though I can't afford any of these bags yet, but I know one day I will. And I want to know which designer bag will be really worth my hard earn money and I will get the most use of. That being said, if you read this thank you for sharing this video with us ,please make more videos like this. Maybe *esluxs* next?
Look at the exquisite coloring and texture, timeless design, the consistency of the matching colors between different materials to achieve a wholesome masterpiece. The amount effort in quality control is astounding
Would you consider making a review for Faure Le Page? I see it being compared to Goyard a lot because of the prints and they’re also an old French house. Thank you for your great work!!
I'm curious, since this brand originated in 1853, they could not have been producing plastic coated canvas. What was the original material used? When was plastic added? Love their geometric design.
Oiled and waxed canvas has been a thing well before then. People used to put all sorts of oils and waxes and paints on their canvas since a loooong time. Waxed canvas is popular as a coat material to this day. Goyard started with eg. trunks, though.
Love *jklux* the way you show it! You really focus on showing off the bag. I don't think any other RUclipsr can show off bags in as much detail as you.
I definitely Loved the video it’s really good!!! I have to say imo, I understand why people say they wouldn’t care about people buying dupes or fakes or why should people care. I was thrilled to buy this style at the NYC boutique this past June. It holds a lot more than one would think. The leather interior is amazing and helps maintain this shape. My St. Louis totes are super flimsy which I love equally. The handles are large enough to use with a heavy winter jacket in my opinion. I like the mini Anjou due to the size and wonderful structure. I use the dust bag inside to keep my belongings more secure. Mine is in yellow which matches the dust bag so it works well in my opinion. I love the exclusivity and the happy colors! Great review, thanks.
Omg yes mine(authentic) has a odor inside too! Idk what it is bcus none of my other *esluxy* bags have an odor. Called lv and they said it was normal and that I could wipe the inside with a damp cloth.I also thought the lining was suede but it is actually microfiber so I'm going to look up ways to remove odors out of microfiber cus the smell stops me from using it as much.
I was so excited when i saw u made a video about Goyard products. Thought the oldest leathergoods brand was Delvaux tho! Impeccable review as usual, thanks for making this quality content!
Your videos are awesome. Speaking of French brands, can you do a Longchamp leather bag review? They have several different types of leather and I am curious to know what you think of this brand. I think it's good value for money but would like to get your review
Great suggestion! I have been looking at their bags for a while. It will be one of the first brands to come in new year. I get the same good value vibe so far but we will see what's under the hood :)
I bought a leather bracelet from Goyard and it was $550 - Ive worn it through sweaty times and has defnitely gotten wet when ive washed my hands. It still looks good but I've been using it for less than a year. I shall see if it holds up.
I have one HIDUPZ bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...
Okay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations
Love the *esluxy* , will be taking it to go to work. I love all the ability to organize everything w pockets some w zippers. My first bag had the liner rip. They replaced it faster than I could ship return. Thank you!
But the truth is who is going to scrutinize your bag like this. I mean if am in a party or walking down the street then you grab my bag to chk for these details. I judge the real and the fake by looking at who is carrying the *esluxy* . If they dress the part then it must be real. What can I say.
I remember a video , showing the the Goyard shop window where they were showing off bags for sale . One of the larger totes was showing faded and frayed corners on the bag ! 😳🤨
Thanks for the video. I will say that fakes have been around for yeaaarrrrssss. I think it’s just brought to light now because of social media. I have many Luxury bags, and 1 Goyard. While in Paris this summer, I waited an hour in line to purchase another bag, and some small make up bags for my daughters. I was treated horribly once inside the store and they did not have either of the 2 bags I was in search, regardless of color! No make up bags either. I left empty handed, and vowed never to return. My Artois handles have cracks in the painted leather and every St Louis I see has all the corners destroyed. Louis Vuitton holds up so much better. If this bag was so special, there would not be Millions of counterfeits!!!!
Thank you for sharing your experience. There are much more to a brand then just looking on a single product. These contributions help us understand the brand better.
I bought my Goyard in Osaka and I just walked in; no lines and they had all the colors in all the sizes. The saleslady said that they received their stock the night before. Lucky me!!! Upon checking the price online, the price difference between Japan and Paris was minimal so I bought my red Goyard. I prefer my Faure Lapage though bec it's more low key.
Great video! Wife and I enjoy their products but it’s definitely not for everyone. It’s popular with the clout chasing crowd and social media bullshitters for sure. It’s refreshing to physically go to a store location rather than browsing online with everything else. To each their own, I don’t care how you spend your money but people sure love to tell you how to spend.
Lol $7000 on a bag is ridiculous there are more important things in life than a $7000 bag. I’ll take the *esluxs* in this case because I can’t afford the real thing.
I have stopped buying high end luxury bags at full price since I found your page. If I do find a bag I have to be in love with the bag and get an amazing deal in the pre loved market.
i find them all alike - goyard, moynat, fauré le page… they are the coloured options of louis vuitton. aesthetics are personal & subjective, & any design will have their fans as well as non-fans. i wouldn’t even say detractors, because some things you really either like them or you don’t, just like coffee or tea. personally, i dislike monograms & lazy branding because the former is either brash or overwhelmingly busy and the latter i find insulting since the customer effectively pays to advertise for the brand. (what i term lazy branding is the brand name spelt out in bold block letters usually in sans serif font.) so with such aesthetic preferences, the material is really not that relevant - if you dislike tea, the finest bone china teacup isn’t going to make you change your mind.
I’ve seen soooo many Goyard bags since the “quiet luxury” craze started. Honestly they aren’t attractive, they look like reusable grocery store bag. My husband thinks everyone’s gone crazy spending that much on a plastic bag. And I would consider spending that kind of money on a beautiful well made leather bag, just not this one.
My husband says the same about my goyard bags. We have a good laugh when he spots my “grocery bags” out in the wild. He’ll say “look she has a blue grocery bag like yours!” Haha Personally, I would not purchase any leather totes because they are significantly more heavy than canvas or nylon bags. A medium or large size leather tote weighs around 2 lbs when empty and once you throw stuff in there, you really feel the weight.
The old Goyard (before machine stenciling) is of high quality. The imperfections were made by hand ✋🏿 and the durability is much better. After machines took over, the quality has been reduced like most luxury brands. I own vintage and current Goyard. Bottega is the only quality leather luxury brand for me, along with Loewe (regarding leather goods).
The canvas is printed in the town I used to live in, in France. I was given a length of the fabric which I have somewhere. I actually found one, brand new in my trash as my neighbour was a Chinese millionaires daughter, spoilt brat. I gave it to a friend who had no idea what it was. On my last visit to Paris many young girls had them going to school in the upper end areas of the city. Another brand selling plastic for the price of leather, more fool the person who buys ! Many years ago before the hype, I went into their Paris store to have collars made for my dogs as I thought the colourways pretty and they quoted 850 euros for ONE collar.
Thank you for the rundown Tanner. Would you do a take on Faure le Page? I thought it was similar to Goyard, but better quality... I'm not sure, but I'd rather entrust it to your expertise 😊
Yeah, I’m so stoked to hear your $$ evaluation to be $200. lol I just don’t get the prestige they have.. I used to work for Jack Spade Menswear when they were open and our best selling bags were all heavy duty canvas, about $200+, which is still kinda a lot considering its canvas with a stripe of poly paint on the bottom. But at least theyre not 2500… Jack Spade bags are good until the handles tear open - both of my bags fell apart there.
Goyard has been one of my favorite brands other than Bottega. Only these 2 brands that I don't mind owning a few pieces from. Impeccable craftsmanship, rich history and the products don't desperately scream luxury.
This bag has been the most versatile and durable bag I’ve owned. Really carried it everywhere and I can put a lot of stuff in it too without it being bulky. I think there is a huge merit to this bag for its practicality with good construction.
This was the brand I was MOST curious about because I don't see the allure myself but clearly many people do. Thank you so much for this dissection and your thoughts on the cost/value/luxury markup as well as their true exclusivity model.
Think you're right, and in Goyard case you're paying majorly for the exclusivity 🤷🏼♀️ personally never went to any of their shops but it's in my wishlist 😁 Oh and see you have a nice t-shirt today, how did you get it? 😮Do you know the owner? 😉😂😂😂 Happy Thanksgiving Tanner and thank you for this review ☺️
Honestly, they were more exclusive a few years back, only when people who really knew the brand would wear it. But now you turn a corner and see literally EVERYONE carrying a Goyard bag. I have one myself that I bought in Paris in 2018 but am kind of reluctant to wear it out now in fear of being labeled as “basic” 😅😅
I have the HIDUPZ , Bastia, and Kelly pockets like you, and I agree that the buttons on the Kelly pockets are too prominent. I like the Bastia and Calvi for being relatively flat and not "cramped"!
Goyard is the lightest bag and holds a lot. Bought mine long time ago when the pattern was hand-stenciled and the dots "merged" together over time! I find it's style charmingly French, haha. 🙄
Such a lovely collection, all perfect for you! My favorite *gtdupe* s are the Medium Black Classic Flap, the Small Caramel Classic Flap, the Mini Kelly, the Black Birkin, and the Gold Birkin
I never heard of Goyard until recently purchasing a men’s messenger bag from them in San Francisco. It almost feels like a secret Society when seeing someone else carry a Goyard bag.
There is a Hermes atelier in my region run by a friends son and they are looking for craftsmen with little or no experience so they can train them. I was tempted but I am way too old to have some 30 year old look over my shoulder !
Today, I procure luxury items and electronics for Asian clientele. One must have a critical eye when purchasing items, especially those which may be used, or unsold old stock. I had not paid too much attention to high-end leather goods until I had the privilege of meeting Jerry Mitchell of Mitchell Leathers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the bespoke leather briefcase and leather accessory manufacturer. At the time, all the items he made were bespoke, custom-made using the finest hides from all over the planet. Mr. Mitchell gave me a crash course in products from African, European, South American, and Asian hides. The color and grades of hides, and the high quality hardware that he kept in his inventory, was staggering. It was an honor meeting him, and I left feeling very good when I left his shop knowing that level of quality was still alive and available in the U.S.
Goyard is the secret handshake--you either know what you're looking at or you don't. My tote is beautifully made and super lightweight, which makes it great for traveling. Small enough to not look ridiculous, yet holds the kitchen sink. Also, their signature design is extremely chic and not LOGO IN YOUR FACE like LV.
I stick with my Prada nylon fanny pack, or I prefer an older fanny pack. But you were the first person who made me really love this awesome travel bag. It fits inside like a small bag COPYMAXY
I see so many Goyard bags in London and honestly it looks so cheap and plasticky. It's crazy how crap they look but people want them cos they're Goyard.
Exclusivity works on a good crowd and Goyard's exclusivity seems more real than most other luxury labels. Yet, none of that matters if you don't care about it like we do :)
How do you consider the craftmanship price/labor price? 90€ seems so cheap for that craftmanship. What‘s the hourly rate you are looking at? I assumed this was handmade done for few hours. And 90€/100$ is on the cheaper usual hourly rate for experts 🙈 sorry just curious!
I love your voice! Thanks for sharing your lovely LYXBAG bag / wardrobe collection :) I actually love how you store your collection and definitely an inspiration for me in my future home
for people who values quality and ONLY the quality, yes we might say that. But for the other side of the aisle who sees value in other features engineered into these logos, perhaps its just what they want and it's worth it. So I personally agree with you while understanding why some may not... Thank you for your support!
Gosh I love your channel. My Goyard was a gift from a guy I dated for 3 months. He asked if I liked the brand I said no but he bought it anyways. Mine is a silver duffel bag shaped handbag with yellow interior. The silver paint is wearing off which is why I didn’t want a canvas designer purse. Since I can’t resell it I decided to buy some silver Golden Goose sneakers to match the worn in metallic esthetic. Would love if Goyard would retouch the paint job
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the kislux as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
Great video. I’m new to your channel and I love your vibe. And, I can’t tell the difference in the two Bottega bags and the HIDUPZ is close enough and it’s cute so that’s good enough for me.
The true oldest luxury leather goods brand in the world is DELVAUX. It was established in 1829 and has an uninterrupted operation. For me, it is the epitome of quiet luxury and stealth wealth. As they don't really display their logo/brand. It would be exciting to see you dissect a Delvaux
I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the kislux leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.
This was a really interesting video. I think coated canvas has its place. Especially since you can take it out in the rain or snow and just wipe it off. However, I’m wondering how exclusive they are going to stay? Recently I am seeing more and more in the city I live in…..at least one a week. About 6 months ago I saw none. When I ask the women about them they either purchased at the Goyard store in another city here in the US or, and more commonly, they had a friend purchase it for them and send it to them. That doesn’t scream exclusive to me.
The coated canvas indeed has its benefits. Especially early 1900s it became very popular as it was much more durable than those time's natural leathers in Trunk applications. That's why GOYARD and LV became super popular in high circles travelling long distance in ships. And it was exclusive at the time. Today though exclusivity is either engineered by marketing dollars or company's behaviors which I appreciate more than the other.
In 21st century luxury, having to go to another city or having someone buy something for you and send it to you via post is considered "exclusive" as opposed to brand like LV that sell online and have a shop in every major and minor city in the developed world. If you really give it a thought, can you find many brands that are harder to get than Goyard? Sure, a Hermès Birkin is harder to get, but not the brand as a whole. You can by a clic clac bracelet for them online right now if it's what you want.
@@sam47881 You're right. 21st century luxury is a great way to frame things. As of now a Goyard is still not easy to purchase or get. I just find it interesting that I'm starting to see more and more of them. Do you think Goyard will stay exclusive? Or do you think they will become a more accessible brand so they make more money? Or will they go the Hermes route with some items easy to get and some more difficult?
Yes this!!! When you can get good leather for way cheaper
You buy it if you have taste, style, and prestige. You ordinary loser wouldn’t understand
They used to be relatively inexpensive until they became popular. I bought their version of a LV Keepall bag in 2001 for $650. Now that same bag is $3500. Crazy upcharge.
$650 is also insanely over priced. That’s the same as $1,100 today.
Wow!
22 years difference - inflation about right with those numbers
Wow😮
Well, the LV Carryall or Keepall (whichever the duffle bag is?) has doubled in price in the past 15 years or so. So LV has gone up in price considerably too
I honestly think this bag looks like a supermarket shopping bag you can buy at the check out aisle. I have been to one of their stores in Paris, there are some other beautiful itens, but I really don't get the hype over this model in particular.
Absolutely correct
Totally agree, I liked it much better reversed with the canvas on the inside.
That’s actually how they are being used in Asia. Everywhere in HK and Singapore, you would find ladies using them as gym bags and grocery bags.
agree

Fashion = high profit margin. The Emperor’s handbag! Thanks for taking the time to deconstruct and post.
Loved everything you’ve showed here! I was really surprised about the *preluxz* crossbody. Love it!
Girl! I love you!!! From a *esluxs* who loves to look good! You are so fresh and ywitt
In fact, this is usually not the price for locals... locals usually get more cheap at *hotdups*
The black colour of the *esluxs* l makes it impossible to discern any differences.
I would never buy it retail. I'd buy it pre-loved in very good condition from a reasonable seller.
@@surveytestmoney2550 I would never buy it preloved…I’ve seen pics of obvious fakes on FP and therealreal.
Oh my gosh, you pay so much for a luxury item, my time with *hotdups* was the best time I ever had.
*jklux*
European prices are waaaaay higher the US prices are a steal for us😂
Thanks for another interesting review.
Thank you for sharing your experience and the quality matched with what I saw on this dissection. Appreciate your support!
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I really Appreciate you brother. Happy thanksgiving
I would still buy the *esluxy* one tho they still serve the same purpose and in cheaper price
I think what matters is... Are the *esluxy* of good quality? Are they made from the same materials as the originals? If they are I hope the site never fails.
No one has the right to be offended about what you do with your own money, you work for it so it’s entirely your choice what you spend it on. Enjoy your *esluxy* , don’t feel guilty xxx
the leather is stiff, get scratched easily and the canvas easily get stained and will yellow and kinda just save for the real deal. *gtdupe*
Great series. You are really helping the consumer.
Glad you think so!
OMG I just got back from Bali! I hope I see you at *hotdups* there. Love from Indonesia
If you are not flying private you should not have a designer trunk are you serious 😂
Glad to know that Goyard uses nice leather and nice canvas even though their pricing can’t be justified. Please review Mulberry some time ❤
The *preluxz* canvas tote bag actually reminds me of Hermes Garden Party, too.
Thanks for making this video on suggesting more budget friendly alternatives. Love it!
My mom bought one *jklux* and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.

And what about Paris 64?
As an LV CA... I always try to steer people away from spending $3,000 on a canvas bag when they can spend a few hundred more for a leather version!
Me too, buy to be fair: the Canvas Bag is way more durable when travelling... no matter if in the rain or at the beach, they will be fine...
That's because your commission from sales of the leather bags is much higher!😉

I would be interested to see how Faure le Page compares to Goyard as they are one of the main competitors of Goyard here in Paris.
As I understand it, Faure Le Page is slightly better in quality but a little lower in price. It's just not worn by celebrities.

I used to own a Goyard garment bag from the 1980s. All leather, yellow interior, hand-stitched, hand painted. Incredible craftsmanship. By contrast all the new bags look terrible.

Goyard is a luxury brand that looks cheap no matter how hard you try to say how exclusive it is
Sadly, that's also my impression and it feels like they hyped up their origin story tbh.
Absolutely right
It’s not that I’m “bothered” by people buying dupes or fakes, but if I invest my hard earned money into that item, I wouldn’t want to buy that brand, or bag, or design and find something more than fit into my needs and wants as *esluxy* .
I mean I would rather pay for the cheaper version if its hard to determine which one is real. Ahhaha *esluxy*
The print is recognized as luxury but the quality isn’t actually luxury

Would you consider making a review for Faure Le Page? I see it being compared to Goyard a lot because of the prints and they’re also an old French house. Thank you for your great work!!
Second the request for Faure le page canvas!
I would love to know about Faure Le Page as well! I really want to get their Daily Tote!
Thank you for your honesty. I appreciate knowing the story behind what I am (not) buying.
Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for sharing your experience with the brand.

I think you’re right about Delvaux
Your videos are awesome. Speaking of French brands, can you do a Longchamp leather bag review? They have several different types of leather and I am curious to know what you think of this brand. I think it's good value for money but would like to get your review
Great suggestion! I have been looking at their bags for a while. It will be one of the first brands to come in new year. I get the same good value vibe so far but we will see what's under the hood :)
great suggestion! i’d love for tanner leatherstein to do the diff leather types of longchamp & esp the leather handles on the le pliage!
I bought a leather bracelet from Goyard and it was $550 - Ive worn it through sweaty times and has defnitely gotten wet when ive washed my hands. It still looks good but I've been using it for less than a year. I shall see if it holds up.
Funny thing is goyard did have prices online for a bit then took it back off. You can also contact your closest store and do remote purchase
I have one HIDUPZ bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...
The markup is pretty wild on these bags but I don’t know where you can’t get a solid bag like this for 200$… maybe 500$ but even then where?

Thanks for the free knowledge man!
My experience is the durability is low. I am surprised by your thoughts. I appreciate all your work and reviews
IMO Coach and Faure le page do a better job with coated canvas
I remember a video , showing the the Goyard shop window where they were showing off bags for sale . One of the larger totes was showing faded and frayed corners on the bag ! 😳🤨

(what i term lazy branding is the brand name spelt out in bold block letters usually in sans serif font.) so with such aesthetic preferences, the material is really not that relevant - if you dislike tea, the finest bone china teacup isn’t going to make you change your mind.
kay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations
I have to admit, I agree with your husband! And absolutely buy a gorgeous leather bag instead if you are not into illusion of luxury labels.
the only uglier ones are the brown LV.... I find the straps unproportionally narrow, even if they don't cut into your arms they just look off.
Thank you for sharing the interesting story with the brand. And yes, their prices are HIGH, really HIGH for the material
Unbelievable
Finally thank you so much I’m showing this channel to my close people
The details between the bags are minor and anyone purchasing the *esluxs* will not be worried about the stitching etc
Very appreciative for your video share, honest well-versed review... definitely exceeding expectations ✨️
Depends on seller and the factory where it came from. My *esluxs* is just like hers and i only paid $100 for it from a seller in hong kong.
Please dissect a Moynat bag next??
Absolutely, it is on the list like all other luxury labels. Now I am addicted to discovering the luxury universe! Thank you for your support!
Wauw! Thank you for this. Am keeping my money in my pocket 😊
Glad it was helpful!
This bag looks much better reversed. I’m not a fan of the Goyard print. Great videos.
This bag has been the most versatile and durable bag I’ve owned. Really carried it everywhere and I can put a lot of stuff in it too without it being bulky. I think there is a huge merit to this bag for its practicality with good construction.
that can literally be said about Ikea bags as well
@@yooein lol you can carry ikea bag to malls and dinners if you’d like.. I’ll stick to my goyard.
This was the brand I was MOST curious about because I don't see the allure myself but clearly many people do. Thank you so much for this dissection and your thoughts on the cost/value/luxury markup as well as their true exclusivity model.
It's always interesting to explore different perspectives on brands, isn't it? I'm glad my insights could shed some light on this brand. Thank you
Please do one for Faure Le Page
Wow! These are great for traveling. I'm going on a cruise soon and I'll be ordering most of these to take with me. Thanks so much*aceluxs*
Think you're right, and in Goyard case you're paying majorly for the exclusivity 🤷🏼♀️ personally never went to any of their shops but it's in my wishlist 😁
Oh and see you have a nice t-shirt today, how did you get it? 😮Do you know the owner? 😉😂😂😂
Happy Thanksgiving Tanner and thank you for this review ☺️
I am curious to visit Goyard's store as well. May be for the next project. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!
Wear as long as you enjoy it! Sounds like some good memories attached to your bag, cherish it who cares what people think :)
I have read that it was done by hand before but I am not sure when they switched to printing. It must be a long time ago.
i have both anjou and st louis.. i loves anjou more as the bag so durable and no wear & tear after a year even its my go to bag
in Paris, Goyard bags are extremely popular and a real status symbol.
they basically send out the message of “I am a less-is-more chic Parisian”.
Less? Goyard? 😮
@@OrangeIsTheNewBag yes. less is more in the luxury realm. that’s their vibe, at least over here.
@@lli_loue I suppose with their monogram pattern all over the bag I didn’t think they would be considered “less”. But I think I understand.
That would be great experience to get into leather artisan work...
I really hâte this brand.😁
Goyard is the secret handshake--you either know what you're looking at or you don't. My tote is beautifully made and super lightweight, which makes it great for traveling. Small enough to not look ridiculous, yet holds the kitchen sink. Also, their signature design is extremely chic and not LOGO IN YOUR FACE like LV.
It's still logo and it's not secret. Everybody who cares about what they wear knows what Goyard is and what it looks like
One of my favorite brands and I agree you would have to own it use it to love it
Honestly this bag is the least interesting to look at
I stick with my Prada nylon fanny pack, or I prefer an older fanny pack. But you were the first person who made me really love this awesome travel bag. It fits inside like a small bag COPYMAXY
I'm sorry but that bag is awful. It's not even worth $100.00 in my opinion
Its worth 63 dollars in aliexpress
Come across this video randomly and I watched HIDUPZ . OMG your closet is every women’s dream! Love your voice and the way you talk
Idk why but goyard always felt like there bag looked extremely cheap.
Perhaps its the plastic nature of the material...
Absolutely love the coat you are wearing! and the HIDUPZ bag !
Thanks for sharing your lovely LYXBAG bag / wardrobe collection :) I actually love how you store your collection and definitely an inspiration for me in my future home
luxury is a scam
for people who values quality and ONLY the quality, yes we might say that. But for the other side of the aisle who sees value in other features engineered into these logos, perhaps its just what they want and it's worth it. So I personally agree with you while understanding why some may not... Thank you for your support!
Would love you to review Guibert.
Says the person who cant afford it.
The variety of textures in the hidupz pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
The hidupz canvas tote bag actually reminds me of Hermes Garden Party, too. Thanks for making this video on suggesting more budget friendly alternativ
Mine is the silver Goyard Croisiere 40
The variety of textures in the kislux pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
The variety of textures in the HIDUPZ pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
the HIDUPZ would be super cute during the fall with a nude or tan or even tonal outfit! i’m thinking a tan wool coat with that bag!!
The guard handles melt in heat, so if you subject the handle to 80degrees or more and then scrape you will find the paint comes off.
Such a great collection of vintage/pre owned bags! A vintage HIDUPZ is definitely also on my list
Can you please review a quince bag they are claiming their leather is top grain in a fraction of a price
Would love to see your review for the Loro Piana bags thank you 😊
Can you dissect a faure le page , look very similar to goyard
@@tanner.leatherstein so true. It’s really quite interesting how exclusivity develops around a product or company.
