  • Mark buys JL Wrangler tires/rims for a 2016 Wrangler and finds the TPMS system won't show tire pressures. He eventually gets the JK to recognize the newer JL TPMS sensors - The JL rims are a great deal right now since everyone is replacing them with wider custom rims - great time to buy but that TPMS can be a problem

As long as you don't encounter the Continental TPMS on Wranglers dated from mid-June 2021 and up. And with those tools in your arsenal (the Autel TS408 and the Nucar scan tool), you actually saved yourself 15 minutes driving on the highway.
Of course, if you do encounter wheels from those Wranglers I mentioned, your TS408 can program blank Autel MX 1-Sensors for good measure. Replacing those sensors can be a pain, though.

Great video! What about the lugnuts? I swapped for 2022 Willys rims and the stock JK nuts look so small in the larger JL wheel stud hole, I'm not sure if it is able to center and clamp the rim properly...

To be sure OTD - you need to use vernier calipers on the lugnuts and rim thickness - Cheers from Canada!

@@carquestions Thanks, for the info. Curious did you end up buying new lugs? or use the JK ones?

@@otd34 I reused the JK ones since the JL have a much larger thread diameter
