There is a temp sensor there below the upper radiator hose on the thermostat housing that shorts out and causes that short circuit in the shutoff solenoid system. It's very common on those tractors. If you unplug the sensor and replace the fuse it will run fine.
Every time I watch you in the mud rain and snow it brings back bad memories to me of working in those conditions. I can feel the effects while I watch. Keep going Warren.
Hey Warren, some great troubleshooting there on those jobs. The only thing I might have done differently is push the tractor a little farther in the shelter so you wouldn’t have to lay in the mud. Cute puppy you got there. He must miss being right next to you. Thanks much for the Sunday video. Much appreciated!
Hi Warren, another great video. We have a fleet of Deere 5620's No transfer pumps on them , they rely on the vane pump on the injection pump to pull fuel, the cab models came with an electric transfer pump. And yes it's a dumb idea.
That is just sad about that 9620T, really shows the mess we are in, can’t even get a good reman engine, anyone thinking about going with a reman should watch the 9620T series, Look forward to the rebuild, Thanks for sharing 👍
@@rogerjohnson6218 Yep I should have paid more attention to the original comment. What a shitshow that repair turned into through no fault of Warren. I hope deere learned a lesson there.
Great video Warren really enjoy watching you work on your service calls. Figuring out the troubles on the drilling rig and getting it off the road. The electrical gremlins on the 5410 JD. Thanks for sharing stay safe Warren.
As I work on drill rigs of all types and been a long time viewer it’s nice seeing a video of you working on one ! Thanks for all the videos Warren as always
The 5-10 series are notorious for the ect sensor killing the tractor. Have done several that the tractor was parked running fine then would no start. I usually unplug those right off and see on a crank no start issue
Trust me buddy I have noticed in my older age I tend to try to find easy way .but other day sucked had to install a heating system under house and retrofit duct work believe it or not works awsome I'm still hurting from being in small sardines area 😂
Oh no... as soon as you said "reman" I knew exactly which tractor that is. I remember you had to get your wife to pull you back to the shop. Man, I'll take that old iron over today's junk (specially JD junk). Warren, my JD4710 compact utility is gravity feed and made roughly the same year as that 5410 is, I believe the 6000 models and higher may have the lift pump, can't say for sure though. I was going to say, fuses should be directly underneath the steering wheel, they are on my 4710. I said, I believe 6000 models and up, they changed things. Sure can hear that Yanmar engine run though... Great video as always, cheers :)
Too bad about the Deere Engine. It will be interesting to see what went wrong with it. Pretty cool old drill rig. Hooch is a cute little pup. We had a litter of Black Lab Pups back in 2005. We had a hard time getting rid of them, so they went to a few friends. We were able to watch them grow old and become awesome dogs. One of my friends was going through some tough times and the dog was exactly what he needed and she turned out to be a great dog. Glad you were able to spend some time with your son. Thanks a bunch for the videos, really appreciate them.
O heck Warren . I do remember all the trouble you had with that 9620T .one reman engine after another .if I remember correctly they tried to blame you and where supposed to be there when you did the last engine. So if you are going to do the engine rebuild then it will be fine. Nice bit of fault finding there 👍👍👍
Shortly after i bought my low-hour used 5425, I noticed that sensor was unplugged... When I plugged it in, the tractor died.... It sparked and blew the fuse.... Yep the sensor was shorted internally, just like you said, Warren.... New sensor and a fuse fixed it... Also, fuel is gravity fed.... I try to leave mine full of diesel when parked for extended periods, so that it doesn't lose prime.... The manual even says to fill the tank when priming.... I guess the extra pressure is what they depend on rather putting in a lift pump.... Sigh... There's a technical bulletin where if loss of prime is a continual problem, you install a low pressure electric pump....
The pup is too cute and the dogs are too. I confer that the dogs are more important than people. Well done tracing that problem under that greasy mess.
It’s usually not the coil, it’s the temp sensor in the water manifold just above the pump. Unplug it and the fuse will hold. That 5410 obviously hasn’t been washed enough to screw up the fuse holders yet. Clean tractors on a farm have corroded fuses! 20 series was the same but on the 25 series the geniuses moved the fuse panel down in front of the rear axle by your left heel! There will be so much crap and mud packed around it, you’ll have to dig for it! Needed to have the fuses under the hood where engine heat will keep them dry! Got a 5420 with over 9000 hours still.
Looks like Warren has another doggie to ride shotgun with him. Has he still got Duke? or is Duke too old to ride about with him. Warren has a heart of gold as far as doggies are concerned, people not so much, LoL. Warren is an all round good guy.

Where i worked we had 3 cat forklifts with 3208 man they run hard just change oil and fuel filters often ran them very hard we screamed the hell out of them but when a 3208 grenades wow it sure makes a mess
Juan deere…. Fuckin funny man. Perfect. Chinese and Mexican junk is killing everything . I work in construction, and the influence of garbage is strong from top to bottom and sideways. Has me screaming, spitting, and cussing everyday
I have a 5410 and think it is gravity fed. I know when you change the fuel filter you better have the tank full or it is impossible to get the air out and reprimed.
This engine is a squealing squeaker or is it a squeaking squealer? 😂 Best from Thomas in good ol' Germany. Hey, at least it runs in contrast to the Juanita Deere reman junk.
Oh, I got a JD-5410 and that sum-b#>-×h is broken again...Only starts on a jump box & there's no da>m front bucket locks, Scoopin up manure is all it can do, stinks & smells like poo poo.....I'm here all week....
Man that pile of junk 9620T needs an engine again? Wow, just goes to show the lack of quality workmanship in remanufactured engines. If that's the same tractor you put at least 2 engines in before I remember how much trouble it gave you. The engines you rebuild seem to hold up, but that's because of your attention to detail and making sure everything is done right. I feel bad for the owner of that 9620T. Sounds like it's cost him a small fortune.
looking forward to 9620T rebuild! What a treat that will be.
Always a good Sunday with a video from Warren, cheers!

Hi warren i just love your field repair videos. The best on you tube.
i really like your videos you seam like a very honest and strait forward person good job

A few years back Warren put a reman engine in a (maybe) 9620t and it didn't survive the test drive.

Not too many of those around here, usually a 6 series is the smallest I see.
@ there are a lot of just individuals here in south ga with just a few cows and maybe a small hay operation and the 5 series are pretty popular

Yep, go to the tavern for an hour or 2 leave your lady in the front and your doģ in the back and just see which one is most happy to see you return.
I worked on a 5410 about 10 years ago I believe it was the exact same problem, If my memory serves me correct.
Problem on top of problems, followed by jury rigged fixes and hackery, on a POS JD, in the mud and snow. Good times!
100% the temp sensor on the thermostat housing, controls the cold weather advance on the pump. I have had to change a bunch of them.
Hi Warren , top vid this one , thank you , good job , cheers
