Number one that could take you out of business it’s the insurance of course will vary per state and also truck maintenance.. ( Avoid registering a truck company in NY it cost you to loose everything like it happened to me )
I thought the same thing. It's not as easy as people make it seem. You definitely need to network, it's all about who you know and the truck industry has a lot of nasty Crooks. So make sure you check everyone. It is possible to make it tho but it will take time. Wish you the best 🙏

I wouldn't suggest investing a ton of money and doing anything part time. The only company running at night until the wee hours of the morning is Amazon and that requires 180 days with an active authority before you can on board with them. ✌🏿
I have a few box trucks and a sprinter van and I am thinking about transitioning from appliance installation to box truck delivery style business, do the trucks have to be dock height as my lifts are lower than that, and also is the driver required to load and unload the truck or is the shipper and receiver responsible for that.

Would it be good to do a team driving with one truck? My brother and I are wanting to do the company together. So far I've been looking up loads on free boards (which ain't much on it) and they all say hot shot in regards of equipment. If I pay for it will I see more box trucks? All I see is hot shot, I'm starting to think hot shot is the new demand ? You won’t see much for free my friend. Most load boards you can’t see anything without an active Dot/Mc #. You’ll see plenty of box truck loads when you invest in the right load boards.

The newer the truck the more you have to cover with a few other factors the more the premium will be. I own a 2017 and 2015. Shop around for commercial rates.
Little tip i got from youtube…get 750,000 coverage initially, after a week or 2 change to 1 million because u WILL need 1 mil…will save u some money in the initial deposit!! Of course ask them if you’ll be after to change it 1st!!

You’re right about high mileage on a commercial truck. As a diesel truck driver myself 200K miles are baby miles.

That all depends on what you are hauling.. at least $750k minimum to go active with FMCSA and $100k minimum cargo for most brokers.

Price isn’t bad. Just know that clearance height door to floor opening is about 88”.
