      Congrats on starting your own business. If you want to test the waters, my advise is to lease onto someone's authority and check the market. That will save you hell lot of money and get you started ASAP. Once you get a hold of the market then go but your own authority

      More power to you. A little piece of advise is to lease onto someone's authority. As it is mature and more brokers will work with that so you can test the waters and get a hold into the market

    Number one that could take you out of business it’s the insurance of course will vary per state and also truck maintenance..
    ( Avoid registering a truck company in NY it cost you to loose everything like it happened to me )

      I thought the same thing. It's not as easy as people make it seem. You definitely need to network, it's all about who you know and the truck industry has a lot of nasty Crooks. So make sure you check everyone. It is possible to make it tho but it will take time. Wish you the best 🙏

      I wouldn't suggest investing a ton of money and doing anything part time. The only company running at night until the wee hours of the morning is Amazon and that requires 180 days with an active authority before you can on board with them. ✌🏿

    I have a few box trucks and a sprinter van and I am thinking about transitioning from appliance installation to box truck delivery style business, do the trucks have to be dock height as my lifts are lower than that, and also is the driver required to load and unload the truck or is the shipper and receiver responsible for that.

    I love the knowledge you be giving out. I’m want to start a box truck company with my brother and I’ve bought a few “blueprints” from people to learn what to do to get started. Would it be good to do a team driving with one truck? My brother and I are wanting to do the company together. I haven’t gotten my llc yet or anything I’ve been trying to get much information as possible before i did everything but i feel I’m losing time waiting to start.

      @@paulezup Not progressive. You’ll have to shop around. My current insurance is with Great WEST Casualty but they don’t insure new authorities. Try Titan Risk Solutions

    Great info as usual. The only thing I would have added would be some brokers known to work with new authorities to help that first 180 days. Apps like curri and mother ship are nice but don't always work out.

    In another video, you said Amazon Relay is great for new authorities when you're just starting out. In this video you said your authority has to be active for 180 days to work with Amazon. Which is it? Or maybe you meant something else and I just didn't understand... Thanks!

      You may have caught an older video in terms of starting out. Amazon has changed their requirements since then. As stated you have to be in business with an active authority for 180 days. ✌🏿

    So far I've been looking up loads on free boards (which ain't much on it) and they all say hot shot in regards of equipment. If I pay for it will I see more box trucks? All I see is hot shot, I'm starting to think hot shot is the new demand ? I'm in the beginning stage, I haven't went all in yet because I'm waiting to have funds in advance for repairs and fuel before skyrocketing my owner operator company

      You won’t see much for free my friend. Most load boards you can’t see anything without an active Dot/Mc #. You’ll see plenty of box truck loads when you invest in the right load boards.

I was trying to see if Minnesota would be fruitful and have load opportunities since it's all country with nothing much around me versus being in California in the cities.       The newer the truck the more you have to cover with a few other factors the more the premium will be. I own a 2017 and 2015. Shop around for commercial rates.

      Little tip i got from youtube…get 750,000 coverage initially, after a week or 2 change to 1 million because u WILL need 1 mil…will save u some money in the initial deposit!! Of course ask them if you’ll be after to change it 1st!!

    Just purchased a 26 ft box truck non CDL new authority hoping I can find loads easily. I know insurance is gonna tax me so the money has to be coming in. I didn’t know Amazon didn’t accept you until after 180 day😳😳

      Congrats on getting your truck. Getting loads on new authority can be tricky in today's market. My advise is to lease onto someone's authority. That way you can directly jump into the full potential of the market and test the water. Move back to your own authority when 180 days are passed

      That all depends on what you are hauling.. at least $750k minimum to go active with FMCSA and $100k minimum cargo for most brokers.

    Hey bro.
    I’m looking at a 2019 Freightliner M2 reefer 26ft, 103hx102w with lift gate. 227k miles and 9k on the reefer. Selling for 44k. Is that a good deal?
    Was looking for something less than 200k miles but too pricey.

    Question:
    If a rent a penske rental box truck and suppose it runs 4000 miles per week how much fuel will be consumed according to today's fuel rate?
    Will it be profitable running 4000 miles with a rental truck?
    Using a good MC*
    Would I be able to save $700 per week after covering all the expenses including fuel driver pay insurance installment per week

      Go with that freightliner for sure bro…especially if ur goin otr…they jus feel more sturdy & i have an international! Ok truck but feel like ur riding in a top hat. Im new so im still getting used to it but def a freightliner….i had 1 for a couple weeks but brought it back because it was cdl required! Def go non cdl!!!

      You should be able to carry close to 15k or slightly under pounds with a truck 33k gvw.
