pretty neat, back to the basics, the versatility and nostalgia is strong with this one. I was just thinking the other day about strats in metal becoming a trend
They kept the classic S look and turbocharged it and it sounds fantastic (the great playing helps.) I really like the 2 knob setup.The volume knob on any regular strat is always in my way, I have a custom that sits untouched because of that. It would be great if they would offer this as a hard tail too.
Great playing as always. This guitar is interesting. Always wanted s strat for those SC sounds but could never deal with the 'vintage' compromises and the position of the volume knob. This sorts most of them them all Would be interesting to see a comparison between this and the Charvel Rick Graham model. PS When are we getting the Charvel Cameron Cooper?
Sick shredding man, i've been very curious about this guitar. My good friend just got one and i have yet to try it. currently waiting on my Charvel MIJ Rick Graham signature so we can compare them both since they're essentially made in the same place
@@buckeyeburl0162 The rick graham for sure. i like 24 frets, the signature bkp's sound great in every setting. they play just about the same honestly, but i'm not a fan of the smoother edges on the jackson's body. The charvel DK is pretty flat and feels better imo
People got on fine with bolt ons for a long time. If you need all that wood cutaway just for you John, I am sorry to hear that. I can manage fine whatever. :)

Yeah neck through does make it a little bit easier but it's trivial really. Most people can do what they need to do with a bolt on. It's what you can make of it at the end of the day. I can do everything I need to with just a regular bolt on. But I get people have their preferences. Bolt on or neck through, doesn't make a difference to me really.
It's definitely a cool guitar. I did love the tones you got out of it. But I think the made in Japan Rick Graham Charvel sig is the better purchase. Just my thoughts.
Other than the pickups, the specs are almost everything I've wanted Fender to put on a strat since the 80s. However, looking closely, a lot appears to have been phoned in. On the one your showing at least. In addition to the paint on the nut (which would piss me off to no end if I paid that much or even a 3rd) the marker dots appear to be noticeably center. And, a gig bag? That's almost insulting. I've always been and plan on always being a strat guy but, stuff like this causes me to consider considering other options. Comparable and better guitars can certainly be had in this day and age and for far less than than FMC's average pricing. Yeah, I realize this is Jackson branded but,it's a hotrod strat. None of these things affect playability but for that kind of money.......
There's no reason not to expect as close to perfection as possible at that price point in 2021 and Jackson proves time and time again that they are incapable of delivering that. Spend that same amount on a Suhr, Tom Anderson, or Xotic strat and I can guarantee you will never find any of these flaws.

I was very excited when Jackson finally released this, but personally, I was hoping it would be a 'heavy relic', like his personal version. I like relics because you don't subconsciously baby them.... :D
I been a Randy Rhodes Jackson deciple since the 80s. I bought a cheap Chinese that got me back into playing. Blocked the trem and wala ,perfect tune not enough Floyd in the rose from China. But the original and the 1000 I've heard on the American is awesome. And Japanese made are usually pretty good 2.
looks like a stratocaster upgrade! even down to the head! would have thought Jackson could come up with something a little more unique considering they have made some fine guitars previously! sounds awesome but then so does the warrior and the dinkies when set up and tweaked

Tone wood really isn't a thing on electric guitars. I really doesnt matter what it's made of, if the instrument has been constructed properly then it will sound good regardless of what it's made of
Thanks for the demo, I noticed no dive bombing. I guessing that might not be a good selling point. I like how Fender keeps looking for different configurations to reach everyone. @@CameronCooperStraight grain is stronger, especially if it's quarter-sawn. (the grain of the wood perpendicular to the face of the fretboard). As far as a scientific explanation, I can't offer that. All I know is, from my experience, and that of other guitar players. Are you familiar with Greg Koch? He used to endorse Fender and had a Telecaster with a flamed maple neck. His tech would have to adjust the truss rod constantly until it ran out of threads. He has since replaced any flamed necks with either quarter sawn or rock maple. I've heard of many accounts saying the same. Coincidence? Maybe. But where there's smoke, there's bound to be fire.
@@CameronCooper My Grandpa was also a cabinet maker and has told me that figured maple, especially that of tiger or curly maple, (flamed and quilt in the guitar world) was decorative mainly. It was never used in any significant load bearing capacity.

Would you recommend this over the Charvel Pro-Mod DK24 HH 2PT CM? Because I know Japan tend to make better quality than the other countries (I won’t name) that make Jackson, Charvel and Fender guitars but I don’t know about that price difference being worth it. I’d really like to hear your honest opinion having played both guitars.
Honestly, for the price I'd recommend something like a Suhr or other high end US brand. I love Charvel and Jackson but this is pricey for a MIJ guitar!

I like how fender bought charvel and jackson to make a separate company with artistic independence to perfect their super strat...instead of making them under the fender name. These new ones really compete with ibanez, and made in mex and japan makes affordable quality.

You wouldnt want to dilute the mainstay products by making too many versions of it and confuse your market. Fender has a good line up for decades with the usa, mex and squier series and also custom shop. At least with fender owning jackson and charvel, they dont get lawsuits and fender seem to be taking the super guitars seriously (which are like sports car models). Seems like they given freedom to put together the features only guitar players know about (not newbs) everything to matching lime green pickguard with yellow pickup covers for example and putting a trem bridge on a tele with active pickups..stuff you would never see bear the fender logo on
@@tdang9528 Charvel is the only super strat brand that makes a lot of classy looking super strats. Ibanez is committed to making ugly guitars. Jackson rarely uses the strat headstock. Both are too much in the 400 dollar/3000 dollar range. The best price point today is around 1100.
You'd have to be off your trolley to pay that for what you get here, let's speak frankly. At the same price you get USA stainless steel-fretted Charvels, and who knows what other top shelf stuff from other brands.
Years of research, testing and hard work and they have finally invented the Fender Stratocaster.

I have a Jackson DK3 and it has that heal cut to 3 bolts. I love being able to get up in there on it. That is a beautiful guitar! A simple beast.

Basswood haters exist? I have two EVH guitars, both use basswood bodies (seems Eddie loved Basswood), and they're both great guitars.

Flamed maple necks are pretty, but are notoriously unstable. They made the right choice here.
