Studied classical guitar for 3 years in HS back in the 80s did the segovia scales every day all fingerings, it helped increase my dexterity and ability to navigate the entire fretboard, also taught me his own exercises aside from the regular scales...I'm a firm believer in those, combined with what you teach on your channel with some serious practice daily one would progress incredibly in 6 months time.
Would have been a godsend to have an instructor like you in my town back in 1982

Another video done and dusted. 15 licks. Took a while but in the bag like many more of yours bud.
You're right about John Petrucci chromatic runs.
I bought his VHS video 20 years ago for around $100 mind you and
spent years going over and over his runs trying to get them clearly at 170- 200bpm 🤷
The pentatonic licks you teach however are so useful and work so well with online backing tracks. (Obviously to those who know their basic theory)
The minor pentatonic backings are the ones I normally play to and yeah.... Half the time now I can play though a whole backing track mixing in a heap of the licks you teach mixed in with my on the spot licks and it flows great, with barely a bum note now!! (Helps knowing the modes)
Can't tell you how grateful I am for all your videos!! (Been learning from you for nearly 2 years now while out of work from an injury so yeah..... your videos have been really handy
    Thank again mate 👌

Cameron Laddie,,my advice for your career, ,it's so hard especially nowadays to get noticed doing solo stuff or metal stuff. My advice ,follow in the footsteps of Mateus asato who plays for Jessie Jay, and sell your skills as a hired gun for established UK pop stars that need a live band to tour,,, ! Rita Ora Dua Lipa ,send a recording of tasteful playing to some of their hits etc, ,go for it,,
