Good job. Thanks 🙏🏼
Thank you very much!!👍👍
Gets a little frustrating wanting to get faster but Im pushing myself to take my time, get it right and do it clean and then go from there.
Thanks for this!
Turn off the TV, your phone, and pick up your Guitars. Play these until your fingers bleed. 🩸
I am going to continuously come back to this lol.
Practice is no laughing matter son
Justo do it dude
Already back. I'm with ya.
Just back again
Cooper,..thanks man,..you’re unlocking multi- doors for my playing , that I overlooked , and you are the finest teacher I’ve seen ,…
Thanks for taking the time to make this. Your videos are very easy to understand even without tablature. Thanks friend
This style of playing isn’t even in my wheelhouse but I’m gonna make an attempt to learn all of the riffs in the video! Great instruction, clearly explained with the perfect camera angle on the fretboard. Thanks 👍🏻🎸
I like when guitar players who aren’t the biggest fan of fast playing styles take time to learn technical skills! It’s good when guitarists realise the value of good technical skills despite what their preferred genre is.
Thanks a lot
Lessons like these are just gold!
Thanks so much Cameron!!!
Studied classical guitar for 3 years in HS back in the 80s did the segovia scales every day all fingerings, it helped increase my dexterity and ability to navigate the entire fretboard, also taught me his own exercises aside from the regular scales...I'm a firm believer in those, combined with what you teach on your channel with some serious practice daily one would progress incredibly in 6 months time.
Would have been a godsend to have an instructor like you in my town back in 1982
why i just found your channel.. so good vidz.. thanks a lot boss!!!! :)
👍...👍 on second thought, I'll give it two thumbs up. Wish my guitar teacher from the 80s was like you. Nice job Cameron
Thank you for sharing this knowledge
I predict this will be a video that I re-visit often!!! Thanks for these cool exercise techniques that could be used in real solos, Cam!
do that until you blue in the face!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
thanks mate,i will be lookin forward to this
Excellent! One of my fav’s
Another video done and dusted. 15 licks. Took a while but in the bag like many more of yours bud.
You're right about John Petrucci chromatic runs.
I bought his VHS video 20 years ago for around $100 mind you and
spent years going over and over his runs trying to get them clearly at 170- 200bpm 🤷
The pentatonic licks you teach however are so useful and work so well with online backing tracks. (Obviously to those who know their basic theory)
The minor pentatonic backings are the ones I normally play to and yeah.... Half the time now I can play though a whole backing track mixing in a heap of the licks you teach mixed in with my on the spot licks and it flows great, with barely a bum note now!! (Helps knowing the modes)
Can't tell you how grateful I am for all your videos!! (Been learning from you for nearly 2 years now while out of work from an injury so yeah..... your videos have been really handy
Thank again mate 👌
Thanks a lot for the kind words
I would subscribe twice if I could!
What gauge strings are you using?
09-42
Dam now this lesson kicked up my guitar practice 👍👍and its pretty dam fun ...like Dio said we Rock
Take my subscribe now
Cameron is your THR just playing in the background through your mic or is it plugged into your cameras audio?
I record direct in and sync up audio with the video
This is an important video
Love this lesson. Nice job Cameron keep them coming. Just like the old VHS tapes in the eighties only to the point and no BS!
yingwie malmsteen unlock. ahhahha.... thank you for this video lesson....... you are the best...... gonna practice this.....
Yes Cameron Cooper do more video exercises like this because Alexi Laiho has a lot of patterns, skipped string arpeggios and Uli Roth arpeggios and scale sequencing patterns.
Great stuff Cam! These are the gems I need but surprisingly so hard to find on RUclips and you always seem to offer them in the most concise and easy to replicate manner. Cheers bro!
You're welcome Stew. 😊
Hey Cam, Great job, I’m 59 years old and I have been playing the guitar since I was 11 and I have to say it still amazes me to see young man like you rip on the fretboard, I don’t remember it Saving to be that easy to play it myself at that age lol
This is just super awesome! Thanks heaps Cam for sharing. BTW absolutely loving your Skype lessons and can’t wait for the next one.
I'm starting to have some speed in legato and picking exercises and got bored on my old exercises. This will be pretty much my next training session (or at least few of them at a time). Good usable stuff just waiting to be stored in the muscle memory =) Liked and saved to watch later!
These are excellent ! @ 6:55 very Vinnie Moore esc .. fab!
Fantastic
Gold...
dude can u make a lesson on string crossing while playing legato? i can play legato decently on one string but i cant cross strings. thanks for the lesson also. cheers from Turkey Istanbul :)
Make sure you're palm muting the lower strings you aren't playing and try hammering on from nowhere onto the string you're going to play next.
@@CameronCooper i appreciate it man. gonna try to apply your tips. thanks again for taking your time and replying. it really means a lot
I like to use the Adrian smith lick from the trooper and move it up and down the fretboard, it’s very good for ear training.
7:51 RR
Cameron, once again thanks for this great and very helpful tutorial. To answer your question: yes I would want more of this! I have a question: Anything special picking wise in Ex. 4 (Zakk Wylde)? I'm not sure how I would address it...
I wish I found this video a year ago ..OMG forget the blind less licks and exercises .I wasted.so much time..pick a few of these that you like the best. Master them ..than pick a few.more.you will play so much better. I know I do !Thank you so damn much for this video. You helped my playing big-time !
If I find a charvel 2018 pro mod dk24 for 600$ should I get it? Is it a good deal if it is in good conditions? Ask here because I know you are a Charvel passionate.
Awesome value Cameron...
Brilliant, only just come across your channel today and I’m hooked already....well done mate 👍🏼
You’re a phrasing exercise master Cameron 🙌🎸 Thanks a lot.
I will keep this SAVED and try my hardest to copy 🤘🏼😈🤘🏼
You need to come out with a guitar course!
I've thought about something like that but it'd be very different to a normal guitar course which is super structured and organised aha
imma practice those well. in the future i really want to form a cover band. i want to cover legendary songs from van halen, ozzy, dokken etc. basically a 80s hard rock band.
Now I have found the most free and valuable guitar lesson in lead guitar playing...
I’m in older rocker I used similar exercises to get faster and clean. I tried back in the 80s. Super sure I just age myself. Just getting back into it. Love your videos they’re inspiring. Thanks so much sir
and at the end of the video HE thanks US 😂
Haha cheers
Thx so much Bro! Your video's have helped my playing a lot.
Whoa video quality is great, always learn a bunch from ya bro
Pain in the butt for me is I am almost 64. Fingers just don’t want to work sometimes. Old dog new tricks thing. All the best.
How could anyone question you you are brilliant simples please carry on what your doing so helpful! thanks so much!
Cameron, love your video's dude! I am now subscribed to your channel and, i hit the "Bell: for all upcoming video's. I am smashing the "Like" button as well - Cheers from the USA!
First caught you demo-ing the Revstar RSP20CR-you killed it! I am a Les Paul fan for sure, and even though I had a Revstar RS620 before hand, I do like them. It sits in good company with my LP's. I am looking forward to supporting your video's and content! The Charvel's and all your guitars and you playing are awesome! You are an awesome player! Thank you for you contribution(s) to the guitar community.
The Spider exercise is used when my fingers just don't want to move.
So do it for like a minute or so and then forget it's even a thing lol
Yessss Cameron!!! Great educational video! Will be coming back to this one again and again!
Thanks allot for sharing. You make everything look and sound so easy and it's not. Lol
Makes perfect sense. Really enjoyed this . You are soooo good. Great inspiration Cameron. I'm getting it ... Your finger speed with smoothness is your key for teaching us the rhythm as you speed up the licks .. my fingers look like yours so I get an extra bonus at watching which I love.. and great narration .
Awesome. I've been searching for something like this for awhile, thanks for posting!
Great tutorial: short, simple, and with wide range of styles.
Можешь сыграть несколько liks Gary Moore?
Very cool and useful I never learned arpeggios but one day I hope to learn!!! 😏🤘
Hey cam. I hope your well. Thanks for another great fun and practical lesson I love Ozzy's players too. They inspire me. Stay well bud!!!
great lesson cam! i agree with you i stopped searching for exercises because they were just chromatic and not musical i was looking exactly for something like this!
Practice Practice Practice
I love finding your previous videos that i haven't seen yet. Lol
That gus g lick is a batio lick but he picks every single note. Psycho.
Cam this stuff is gold! Stop giving away the store.LOL
These are awesome, thanks for sharing them with us!
Amazing content as usual Cam!!
tabs would have been nice aint nobody got time fo that
No need for tabs when you can see what I'm doing
You can't relay on tabs your whole life lol.
Righteous exercises, thanks!
tthis will be a banger
Love it! Will definately improve my solos to go through these and disect them down step by step and then increase the speed.
E P I C
Best intro ever dude!
Lesson Jump , lesson Jump , lesson Jump 😜👍
can't hammer on my guitar cause my strings are too thicc 😁
I have Autism neon colours and neon light are overloading my brain. I love your Chanel, just wondering if you could lose the light please, gratitude dude!
Thank you Rachel for letting me know and for the kind words. Neon coloured guitars don't appear often on the channel but I do need the lights to make my videos. Thanks
I just need to learn how to stretch from 12th fret to the 19th.
Cameron Laddie,,my advice for your career, ,it's so hard especially nowadays to get noticed doing solo stuff or metal stuff. My advice ,follow in the footsteps of Mateus asato who plays for Jessie Jay, and sell your skills as a hired gun for established UK pop stars that need a live band to tour,,, ! Rita Ora Dua Lipa ,send a recording of tasteful playing to some of their hits etc, ,go for it,,
Why would I play what I don't listen to?
You’re intentionally not giving tabs, right? These are great but now I gotta really pay attention DAMN YOU! Lol. I get it. Muscle memory better than simply memorizing.
I'm sorry I don't give tabs on anything I do.
To answer your question: damn near never.
I really enjoyed this lesson. Thankyou.
Cameron you are literally one of the smoothest most technically advanced guitarist working today , just absolutely amazing skill and perfection
Unbelievably kind words there. Thank you
Some pretty cool licks I’m trying to learn:
3:27
7:25
cam is makes me so happy to see you uploading so much lately! you definitely have been one of my biggest influences
If Cameron offered the tabs to his licks, he would have one of the top guitar channels on youtube.
The real Kirk Hammett doesn't need tabs, come on now.
Not to sound like a smartass but I really do use the spider exercise everyday I play guitar. Only as a warm up tho lol. Works really good to loosen up the fingers helps with left and right hand sync to an extent depending on how you practice them.
If it works for you then cool!
This is really cool, saving the video.
Sweet yellow color, love these 80s bright colors
2:10 reminds me of bagpipes for some reason.
Definitely love seeing this type of content!
Amazing stuff! More of these please
can you do some gothrie govan exercises plz
There aren't really any Guthrie exercises since he never did any himself.
@@CameronCooper i know this is why i want some of his style as a lesson for help
@@ultimateost4004 Leave it with me
@@CameronCooper for real thank you
Excelente!!! Thanks Bro
Dude....... just insane. You can hang with most of these big names guitarists.
Don’t let it go to your head. It’s just a fact. You’ve grabbed tons of techniques and have expanded on them.
I appreciate it. Thank you!
This is very useful. Thank you Cameron! I thought you sold the yellow Charvel. I saw it a couple of years ago in one of your other videos and had to buy one myself. I was fortunate to find a used one and I absolutely love it. I wish Charvel would produce these colors again.
Thank you! Nope, never sold the yellow one. Still got the two neon colours.
I appreciate you cam thank you!
Love your dexterity people see it as talent a guitarist sees a person who has devoted many hours to learning so everything you are came from a lot of hard work and to that you are now talented.don’t know if you can get better than you are I guess now time to write huh anyway thumbs up on channel.
Cheers! Don't worry Jerry, I have written, released and writing more
