I have never heard of this band before tonight. I knew absolutely nothing about them.
In 19 minutes & 11 seconds, they stirred such a range of emotions in me, made me think, made me try to compare them/classify their music (unsuccessfully, I might add, which is one of the greatest compliments I know of), and finally, made me want to hear more.
I also love how no one band member stands out more than another, yet each is absolutely crucial to the music. Thank you, Lucius.

My new favorite band. Absolutely love this group. They make even the old greats sound new and even greater - find them on You Tube singing with J.D. McPherson and Jimmy Sutton, the Buddy Holly-written (Linda Ronstadt and so many others who've sung it) song, "It Doesn't Matter Anymore." Stellar. The whole band, just great. I wish they had more CDs (yep, some of us still buy CDs) out.

Old guy and big fan here. My first music hero was Al Hirt's trombone player. I have played music and collected albums since the early 60s. I am about the music not show business and ass dancing so much. First hearings that left a lasting impression on me include: Al Hirt, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Paul Desmond, Beatles, Byrds, Led Zeppelin, Traffic, Jethro Tull, JONI MITCHELL, Neil Young, The Band, CS&N, Incredible String Band, Fleetwood Mac, Police, Jeff Buckley, Liz Phair (yeah really), Yellow Jackets. I love lots of music but it is a good day when you discover some great music that you have not quite heard before. Music that you listen to repeatedly and recommend to music snob friends.
Lucius, my new favorite band will forever be on the list. They have a clever, creative writing and performance style that doesn't seem too derivative like so much of the music lately. Jess and Holly are terrific singers and sexy without trying. Talk about stereo. If they ever come to Florida I might just drag my old self away from the beach (which I almost never do) and go deal with the crowd to see them live.

Check their appearance on NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts. Blew me away - I've played it 15 times, at least. They're fantastic, poised, great on-the-spot when something's missing (check what they do with cashew cans to do Genevieve). Can't wait to see them live somewhere, soon.

I love this band! I saw them live when they opened for The Head and the Heart in Rochester and I forgot the band I came to see. Amazing band.

Great songwriting and great performing. I cannot wait to own this album so I can stop with the you tube repeats. More importantly, can't wait to see them live again. It's transcendent.
