I don't understand how these live versions of these songs are even better than the studio versions. Incredible, never seen that before.
I know it crazy, I think because in studio once you make it it's official. and during live you get the option to change some things up a little
I think because it's mroe free and flowing. often times sections of a song are recut over and over and moved and go through countless takes. When they perform live, it's just a free wagon rolling down the street. One shot to make it feel great and free. There's room for mistakes without long term consiquenses. AND they are a great band that has done countless shows. That's my opinion anyways.

I will be 70 this year. My daughter and I sing together infrequently due to our busy lives. However, she introduced me to The Lumineers and I am inspired - we will be performing at a local festival in a couple months. Their music has heart.

The first time I fell in love with this band was when I heard "Ho Hey". I found out I was pregnant and I wasn't sure I was ready to be a mom. This song is the reason I knew I could do it. It gave me SO much hope when I had absolutely NONE! I used to put headphones on my belly to play it for my daughter in the womb. It's still "our" song to this day. That was almost 10 years ago! 😭💕

My husband played classical piano. (Not professionally, but expertly, lol.) When I was pregnant, I would stand with my belly touching the side of the piano. We knew my daughter could not only hear his music, but also feel the vibrations. Pretty cool.

this isn't music. This is far beyond that. Anyone can make songs but not many can make you "feel it". I feel it.

When you have true, pure talent, computers and auto tune are not even an option.
I would give credit to the KEXP sound engineers for that. These sets sound consistently good despite youtube's terrible compression.

I regret avoiding this band because every hipster i knew recommended them. They are extraordinary. Their lyrics are fantastic, and their musicianship is good. Great band.
It only means that hipsters don't have poor taste of music.

There's something so amazing about listening to this band live as opposed to their studio versions. So amazing to hear old songs in their new sound, I could listen to this video over and over all day.
Yeppers. Hearing them live tops listening to them via the studio. I feel that way about most music, but it real stands out in this video. It isn't overproduced, you can hear the instruments better and differently (same with backup singers), and you can actually see the artists emotion coming through. You'll never get that or the since of "I am watching history" from a studio album.

Hi Kari Kuo. t's better to say "as distinct from their studio versions", rather than "as opposed to", because you aren't talking about total opposites, just variations.
I love this band. Music hits hard in my heart and soul. Triggers so many memories ... tears well from my eyes, but still I smile. I'm a 70 yr old Deadhead.

After listening to this around 100 times - I´ve come to the conclusion that this IS the best ever live set - the sound is great, the preformers are all great, the instruments sound great, the set list is great, the sound recording is great.. i cant find a single fault, except that it ends.. You really nailed it with this

On July 14th I'll be taking my wife of 40 years to see Lumineers for the first time I've seen this group twice before but she was a little busy those two times in the past 5 years..she can't get away this time. Its her birthday on July 14th so I'm looking forward to surprising her. :). At the Moda center in Portland Oregon...we ROCK!!
I hope she enjoyed it! Best show I've ever been to. Worth hanging on to the tickets since 2020, haha
@@chrisjovanovic2321 We had a blast for the most part, however and unfortunately the first half of the show was gawd awful and she hated it. I didn't hate it but it was definitely not what I expected as they didn't perform that type of music. The second half of the was "excellent" and what I had expected. Not the best show I've been to, the Eagles "Hell Freezes Over" concert is still the best show we both have ever seen. A close second would be Neil Young. On a side note: the opening act by Daniel Rodriquez was excellent...I've heard some great opening acts but this was probably the best one yet.

As I was wondering how many times I have listened to this I realise I vividly recall singing along to this set blasting through our house when it was a shell of a place as I installed heating and redecorated our house late into the nights years ago. I come back every month or so, You Tube reminds me if I leave it too long...

If you ever get to see them live, if concerts are ever a possibility soon, I highly recommend. A talent live and recorded but somehow sound better in person, beautiful music from a beautiful band.
Me to I'm 62.. never heard of them until about 2 or 3 yrs ago.. my son told me they have been around for a long time!!! I know everyone in my house is about to pull their hair out.. they like them to but I play their songs over and over.. natural high!

You can thank not hearing of this band to radio consolidation. I was fortunate to live in the Gulf South and listening to a station out of Mobile when Ho Hey came out. 58 here and I have been singing their praises for 10 years now.
Neyla deserves more attention than she actually receives.
She seems a little disinterested compared to earlier live clips. Def doesn't smile as much as before (which is beautiful) and seems to be going thru the motions

Yes a thousand times over. I was feeling that too when watching and listening to them lately. Even weirder, I can hear her well in this live performance, but the album stuff has her toned down even more....such a shame not to hear her and the cello as clearly as I'd like all the time.
Robert Dawnreaver i suggest to check "im falling in love" out. she sings in duet, no words! hope she will be more a singer than just a musician in the band in the future

I was just wondering.. because it's always struck me as strange that Wesley sings Cleopatra ... and the way Neyla looks when she's singing it too... like maybe the plan was for her to sing it and someone ...? backed out. or they wouldn't let her. she's got a voice but except for rare backup singing.. they never let her use it. I lost interest in the band after she left. It seems like every song they have now has a woman's name. Like that's all they can think of to sing about. Have to wonder if she was a strong part of their creativity.

I heard slow it down for the first time when I was going through a horribly abusive relationship. My nickname is Angie, it really resonated with me in that time. I felt like the song found me when it needed to. Now I am married to a wonderful man, I will always love this song.

The Lumineers were on my playlist when I was giving birth. So every time I listen to it now the bittersweet but mostly sweet memories are coming back to me. Thank you for your incredible music and beeing with me at that special moment.
I wish I could have seen them when Neyla Pekarek was with the band. She was a very important part of this band in my opinion.
