Glad too see I wasn't the only one watching Billions.
I fell upon this song accidentally. I was on Spotify listening to Tyler Childers. I ended up with this song. Wow!!!!! Fucking epic. Fucking epic. I'm southern, born and raised. If one hears this song, but doesn't listen they'll miss an amazing song about a gay guy finding love in the south. If it's not a southern song- it's north, south, east and west. Everyone loves who they love. It should never be judged. I was raised Christian. I believe in all things now, beyond Christianity. I love this old, blues southern twang. It's not just city boys❤❤❤❤❤

It doesn't matter how many people love this/these guys they're undervalued , so good it's a massive shame this song not on Spotify , from billions , RIP Donnie.
It's a very powerful and moving song. Christ said, "All judgment is given to me in heaven and earth, yet I judge no man". We are called to love people, not judge them.
I have to say, the state of Oklahoma is producing some incredible singer-songwriters. If you've never heard John Fullbright, give him a listen also. Another Okie with a true gift.
I can't find that quote at all. I'm wondering if you know what verse it's from? The only thing I've found is when Christ said this From John Chapter 5:

I cannot stop listening. I hear it in my sleep. This song can make a real difference in the world. If the world will only listen.

A brilliantly written song! This should be mandatory listening for all of the selfishly conservative, self righteous, intolerant, hate mongering, fear perpetuating and judgmental, self anointed practitioners of religiosity. Never mind, those that would need this explained to them are likely bereft of the basic human capacity required to understand, let alone comprehend the meaning. If only.........

I accidentally discovered Parker Millsap when hitting the wrong button and walking away from my computer. I came back to rewind, replay, search for more......and spend hours enthralled by the lyrics, the style, the man. I found something worth my time!!!

And the reason I like the song is he ask a very important question, did his father love hime before when he thought he was straight. Which is an important question to ask when judging others especially family. God loved us while we were still sinners.

If you'd like me to address Christianity as a WHOLE, then fine - here goes:
When you find yourself living in a country where the vast majority of people are atheists, where the TV programming you were exposed to as a kid stressed that you had to be an atheist to be moral, when your nation's major holidays centered around atheism, when you were shouted at by classmates and your teacher for finding out you were Christian, where every President elected was an atheist, when a recent former President stated that Christians shouldn't even be considered citizens, when every Presidential candidate must loudly proclaim their atheism to even have a chance at being elected - when no candidate for ANYTHING including local dog catcher can have any hope of being elected without being an atheist...
...when there are tall pointy buildings on virtually every street corner with signs outside them telling you the only answer is atheism... when your fellow citizens stream into those buildings every week to hear how only atheists can be moral... and worse - how Christians are headed for eternal torture and DESERVE IT...
Then, THEN you can complain to me about how oppressed you feel.
Until then, don't whine to me because for one of the rare moments in your life you've had to face the horror and outrage of discovering that there are people who exist who don't think exactly the same way you think.
I know the martyrdom thing plays big in Christian circles, but just because you worship an imagined one doesn't mean you get to pretend you are one.
