I'm happy to see that, no matter how bad pop country sucks, there is a whole new generation that keeps it real. Amanda and Jason are country music's Tedeshi/Trucks, and that's a compliment believe you me. Extremely talented couple .
I really love how jason comes in at the right level for support and doesn't overwhelm Amanda's fragile voice...he could but he knows when it's right to support her song....she'll be along in a bit to support his.
It’s been a joy watching this couple climb the music ladder towards the top of their game. Something tells me that they haven’t reached the summit yet. They just keep getting better and better and better. Keep an eye out for their daughter Mercy. I can’t imagine how talented she will be with both the Isbell & Shire bloodline coursing through her veins.
Well, her and jason have the same unique ability to take a song you’ve never heard before and Mezmerize you with it and make you want to listen again and again
While the 400 Unit is one of the most badass bands I've even seen, I sure do love Amanda & Jason in "duo mode". The 3rd vocal part and bass lines make this damn near perfect.
The guitar player is her husband Jason Isbell and is the best songwriter alive today. He has won many awards for best songwriter and best Americana artist. you should check him out. life changing.
David Barry Dynamics? Like when she follows up “Like stepping out of a Graviton” with “Still moving” and “Like synthesizer violins” with “It was deafenin'”? Absolutely brilliant. The chorus is amazing but the way she structures the verses is even better.
I just found Amanda through listening to Jason, who I just found a month ago. Jason goes without saying is absolutely incredible and a special talent, and I knew Amanda was talented from her fiddle playing and backing vocals for Jason but I had no idea what a great song writer and performer that she is. These two have to be the two most talented, underplayed and under appreciated singer/songwriter/musicians in the entire business today. They also seem to absolutely adore and support each other, and have their heads on very straight. They are down to Earth people who would be great neighbors and that says a lot about them. Back to Amanda, wow! She is as special a talent as Jason from what I can see. These two need to blow up and get a pot full of money that they deserve
Usually got nothing to say on these, but: Amanda shires is the mostest. Am most used to her backing up Jason isbell as he does for her here... I envy all who she plays with because her connection is not so much with the audience as with the people she's playing with... A beautiful thing to see. Thank you Amanda.
absolutely beautiful .. amanda and jason are the next generation of American musical royalty ... that they have each other both personally and professionally reminds me of that lyric from an Ultra Brothers tune "Lonely Surfer Boy From Vermont": "..everybody got to talking about, how they looked so fine, drinking in the wonder, of how love works out sometime..."
Jason one of my biggest regrets is missing your concert in Victoria b.c Canada, your music heals the heart and ears, Thankyou for your music and inspiration it brings 😊
So good that Amanda and Jason met and married, it's wonderful to find that special someones, and it's great that Jason got over his drinking problem. They're both so talented, what fun it would be to play and sing together, plus they still maintain their individual careers! I knew of and liked Jason before I knew of Amanda. She's talented, cute and quirky, which I like, and I love the way she smiles when she looks at Jason! The bass player is great too, she plays with Amanda on other songs. Thank goodness to find more real singer/songwriter/musicians that aren't packaged.
***** If you like quirky (as well as talented and cute), a couple of other singer/songwriters I can strongly recommend are Lauren O'Connell and Tamara Kaboutcheck. If you like Amanda's songs, I think you'll like theirs also.
If I were a talent hunter, I would immediately go to Mineral Wells, TX, and see if she had a sister or something. Wow, what a talented person, and Jason is equally talented. I even am beginning to appreciate Steph Dinkenson's work with Amada.
I remember her i believe about 15 years ago on itunes but cant remember the beautiful song she did. Just her and acoustic or its possible ive got it all wrong. Anyway a great cover.
+SpaceCowboyToo Thx for letting me know that due date, I didn't know they'd had her! I see they've had a girl, do you know her name now? I hope they have a long and happy life together!!
Well, I love them both, but I think you are a bit mistaken about Jason's stuff being in "another league." He is most definitely a unique songwriter but so is she. If you can find a song with more depth than "When you need a train," I would like to hear it. She is profoundly talented, and perhaps even more than Jason. But I will enjoy them both as long as I can.
4 minutes above everything.... Thank you!

How true.
Their voices are hauntingly beautiful. The sound just carries you to a different place. I love real talent and skill. Just amazing.
I can't get enough of this song!
I love both Amanda and Jason and have followed them for a long time. My heart is tugged into their music. It's hypnotic!
While the 400 Unit is one of the most badass bands I've even seen, I sure do love Amanda & Jason in "duo mode". The 3rd vocal part and bass lines make this damn near perfect.
I love Amanda...saw her in a little old place in Shrewsbury, England early this year...she was simply fabulous..what a great talent
Talent. Big time talent. Their hard work paid off for us. Thank you for doing what you do!
Gorgeous! I have to hear more!
I absolutely love this song! Amazing!
Amanda Shires is a gem.
Oh yeah. My dream girl
How about that invisible girl on the bass. She is good . I'd settle for her.
That bass player and background singer is fantastic!
Guitar player has a future, too
The guitar player is her husband Jason Isbell and is the best songwriter alive today. He has won many awards for best songwriter and best Americana artist. you should check him out. life changing.
I'm pretty sure Mark already knows who he is.
I thought he was just that guy from Drive-By Truckers.
SOUMYA ADHIKARI
Bob Dylan?!! Hilarious! He’s the result to music like toilet paper to Covid-19 panic. Makes no sense
I loved this when it came out; it's perfect, words, dynamics, execution. They are so good.

Please tour together soon. The 2 most talented folk singers. Amanda Shires and Jason Isbell are both amazing.
OMG, how beautiful is this whole experience
That acoustic guitar sounds great. I like the way you guys accompany each other.
absolutely beautiful .. amanda and jason are the next generation of American musical royalty ... that they have each other both personally and professionally reminds me of that lyric from an Ultra Brothers tune "Lonely Surfer Boy From Vermont":
"..everybody got to talking about, how they looked so fine,
drinking in the wonder, of how love works out sometime..."
This is fantastic. Every little detail, not least Jason's guitar riff.
Jason one of my biggest regrets is missing your concert in Victoria b.c Canada, your music heals the heart and ears, Thankyou for your music and inspiration it brings 😊
Beautiful, as usual. A big thumbs up.
Love, love, LOVE this song!
Very beautiful. Good team behind Amanda.
Fantastic performance. Amanda and Jason rule.
It's nice to see Amanda and Jason growing older and seeing their talent bloom....going through the seasons!
Brilliant and harmonies perfect
Love these guys
Soooooooo good
saw Amanda and Jason at the Ryman last year, amazing performance.Love how she's sporting the "Isbell" t-shirt
She is frickin awesome. This is music
excellent song, grabbed me first time
You guys just keep getting better and better. What a treat!
Heard her originally from the Tiny Desk Concert playing fiddle with Jason.. Hearing her now-real talent is alive and well! Excellent!!

SpaceCowboyToo
Thx I'll check them out!
Wadeifer
Will check them out too!
+Susans Soul Shines Whoops, I misspelled Tamara's name. :( It's Tamara Kaboutchek.
romus68 Gillian Welch and David Rawlings
wonderful song! I discover Amanda Shires on iTunes right now. Very nice voice and songs.
I've never heard a woman sings so clear in my entire life and I was at Woodstock Amanda shires has the cleanest female voice I've ever heard
I think this song is beautiful.
Amazing, enough said!
They are great together!
If I were a talent hunter, I would immediately go to Mineral Wells, TX, and see if she had a sister or something. Wow, what a talented person, and Jason is equally talented. I even am beginning to appreciate Steph Dinkenson's work with Amada.
Just discovered Jason and Amanda. Wow. Love this.
Wonderful. I hope Jason starts playing some of her songs when they play together....especially for the shows that I attend! ♥
Classy…….thanks…..really enjoyed it….🇦🇺🇦🇺
Gorgeous
Absolutely magical. Old love from dbt days. Long strange trip brothers and sisters. B good to each other. Keep the faith.
brilliant harmony
My god, that’s beautiful.
I remember her i believe about 15 years ago on itunes but cant remember the beautiful song she did. Just her and acoustic or its possible ive got it all wrong. Anyway a great cover.
I'm in love! Damn you, Jason Isbel!
Trueee but can't hate to much seeing as how he is one of my favorite musicians! Better make some musical chilrens..these two!!
***** They're expecting their first this September (2015). That kid's gonna have some great musical genes, that's for sure!
+SpaceCowboyToo Thx for letting me know that due date, I didn't know they'd had her! I see they've had a girl, do you know her name now? I hope they have a long and happy life together!!
Me too. But I have no talent
The girl s good! Love her style--different
Great song.
This song was featured on KXCI 91.3 in Tucson
Excellent
I believe Amanda is playing a baritone ukulele in it's rock guitar form.
HumbleBaritonics I was wondering about that thank you for informing me ! At first I was like what kind of electric guitar is she fingerpicking.....
Love that Jason is wearing his signature shirt
Sehr gut❤
I'm focused on the guitar and Amanda's voice but wow, the bass player is amazing too. great song from them.
Smart, literate craftspersons. "Tiger Bill" is funny and dark, and I love this song. Can't wait for her book of poetry to come out.
This is 100% !
She's just as good, maybe even better, that Jason. She deserves more recognition.
Yes she does
I agree completely! I mean, I love Jason Isbell, but she is definitely his equal!!!
she's a fine fiddle player and she has a good voice as well as being lovely to look at but Jason's songwriting is in another league
And Mineral Wells. That song is so good.
She is a treasure. Jason is a lucky man.
I found her thought her husband music, but I'm a bigger Amanda fan now than I am Jason. Her style is so unique
Amanda is so small she makes an electric ukulele look guitar sized. Wonderful song.
That is a tenor guitar. It has the four highest strings of a standard guitar. She's 5'4".
@@jeffhodge7333 thanks, never saw one before.
Nice song - is that Flotex on the floor?
Incredible! That's all I have to say.
oh yeah ive been wasted and rolling before myself, good times....
what is she playing ?( so well )
electric ukulele, steel stings and mag pickups.
Lol Susan's soul shines noticed that 3 years ago, very cool.
Peace Dan
I have it on good athority that Amanda is the love child of Lynard Cohen and Dolly Parton.
I believe it
I love the way she looks over and smile's at Jason Isbell her husband BTW when he's jamming that lead
Don't mind me... just floatin through double stacked
Is it just me or am I hearing a female John Prine?
1:09 mid-song tune-up
Jason Isbell is the bomb
Dolly 100%
It is okay not so creative.. I feel I heard this music many times
The Highwomen brought me here.
Very psychedelic
