Skylar Grey, who often works with Eminem, was in the news today, because she had to sell her music catalogue to pay for her divorce. She wrote "I love the way you lie" , the Eminem & Rihanna collaboration. She then got invited by Eminem to Detroit to work on this song for Dr. Dre, she is one of the co-writers. She is still the one, Eminem most often calls, when he wants a female singer on a song. She said, he became her mentor. It's sad, she won't make any money from this song anymore. I wish her the best for the future and more hits!

Jojo, please tell all of us that now you understand Dr Dre actually had a bad wreck and almost died. The only person from his rap label that stood by him was Eminem. He wasn't talking about Dr Dre actually being lazy...he was trying to get him to wake up from a coma. If you can get someone mad or get an emotional response while they are in the coma, it can help bring them back out. My sister was in a coma. That's what I was told. We talked to her every day and she did come out it... like Dr Dre thankfully.❤️

Em started to push Dre again to build him back up and help make dre again, Dre thought Em how to produce. Em is crazy loyal and you see it with 50 and Dre, and Dre and 50 are loyal 100% back. The love is a beautiful thing

That car accident actually happened to Dre. And Dr. Strange's car crash that sent him on his magical journey was first published in... the 80's I think? 80's or 90's. It's been canon and repeated in the comics every time he's been restarted.
Dre went into a deep depression after the crash and recovery. Went missing from the scene for a couple years. Em really did bring him out of the depression and back to producing. This song is the story of that. Also, one of my favorite Eminem songs.
Nope, Dre's never been in a serious car crash! You're probably thinking of Dre's friend and artist The D.O.C., who was in one that ruined his vocal chords. The crash/coma in this vid is just symbolic for all of Dre's loss ("friends", his son, divorce) and the mental state and apathy it caused him
In my view, this was by far one of the most underrated songs by Eminem.

It's Dre and Cube around their peak, old differences set aside to put their skills together again. Cube's writing, Dre's composing, and both of their rapping. (With a cameo in the video by Tupac as a cop.)

Man, I remember when this tracked leaked online a number of months before its official release. I thought it was another Recovery leak. Then it came out with the video and it’s given me chills each time for the last 11 years.

You know...Renegade was Eminems song that he had produced for himself & Royce! Jay Z asked to do the song! Eminem had written his part long before Jay Z was ever a part of it! Now there is a version of Renegade the way it was originally intended with him & Royce! They saved each other!!! Dre was on his way out!!! Things hadn't been going well for Dre! He took a risk signing Em but at the same time ...Em's success saved Dre!!! There are interviews of Dre telling his side of it....check them out!

My bad it wasn't after Doc Dre came out of his nearly fatal aneurism, (that was in 2021), which is spooky because this video foreshadows in 2010 what happens in 2021 but it still makes me nearly cry with Dre having a near death moment and Em having to picture his life without Dre and how awful it would be, bc they are such close friends and make magic together. How many times has Em said on his verses that he owes it all to Dre? The same foreshadowing happened in Toy Soldiers Proof plays someone that dies in a shooting and a few years later that actually happened, in 2006 he was murdered in Detroit, I am sure Trick Trick cleaned the scene right after..
No Trick Trick didn't have anything to do with Proof's murder scene afterward it was a bouncer that shot proof and he was let off on self defense... It was at a pool hall in Detroit...the bouncer that shot him only was charged with 2 weapons charges and they were both dropped on September 20, 2006...

One day me and a buddy were walking. He tells me "there's a new rapper making buzz....he's a white boy". He says this, knowing the rant it would produce. As a white dude who had been listening to rap for about a decade at that point. I was over the idea of a white rapper. It had been so long. I felt we would have a better chance at finding Bigfoot.
Man, he lets me get a couple of minutes into my rant and adds. "he's working with Dre". Knowing damn good and well. Chronic was....possibly still is. My favorite rap album of all time. I respond with "Dre?......okay, i'm listening" lol That's how powerful the Dre seal of approval was.

Fun fact, eminem didn't write his verse for renegade. He already had it recorded as a free style when someone from jay-z's label asked if em was interested in doing a song with jay-z called renegade. So em handed over something he already had prerecorded and it went directly to jay-z without em needing to do anything more
