    Hello -
I want to thank you so much for your videos. They have been very helpful an motivating.
So I have had my 4 cord Pilates machine for a bit, and I am trying to get back to doing a workout routine. The machine has 2 black cords, 1 yellow cord, and a red cord. I have back issues and I am trying to lose weight. Right now I am using 2 black cords and a yellow cord. Is that not a good idea to lose weight? I watched this video, and I am a bit confused oh how it all works. I did try your rebounder workout, but it caused me too much pain with my neck and back. I am working on finding a neck pillow for my reformer and a stand.
I have been sticking to your beginner workout 1 routine and have increased the quantity of reps. Is there any videos I can check out to workout my abs, arms, strengthen my back? I appreciate any advice you can give me.
    Thanks :)

Thank you, so much for watching and taking the time to comment. I am so excited that you are beginning your AeroPilates journey!
Any exercise on this machine will help you lose weight, so choose the cords that you feel most comfortable with and keep moving. When you are more comfortable with the machine, try adding or taking away a cord, just to shake it up a bit. There is no rush to experiment with changing cords. I used 2 black cords for 8 months or so before trying anything different, but you should use the cords that you like best first. There is no right or wrong way to use the cords.
When you are ready and begin adding a cord or taking one away, you can go back to your favorite cords during workouts, in between, and only switch it up for one or two workouts per week or every other week. This adds "muscle confusion" which is beneficial. But, as always, the best cord combination is what you feel most comfortable with during the workouts. You will tone your body and lose weight no matter which cords you use, so there is no wrong way to do it.
When you are rebounding, a tip for your back would be to have your hands under your hips OR fold a towel under your lower back to help support it. For your neck, a rolled towel, a small throw pillow, and even a stuffed animal can be used until you get a head and neck pillow.
Every workout on this machine will work your arms, your abs, and your strengthen your back...just be doing a regular workout routine...because you have to stabilize (unknowingly) your body to use the AeroPilates. Everything will strengthen. I have some targeted exercises on this channel that I will link below...but remember, every reformer workout you find on my channel, or on other youtube channels will work your arms, abs, and back because that is how the machine was designed. It's really wonderful. Thanks again for taking the time to comment. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Enjoy your AeroPilates! :)

Hi!! I am brand new to this but am so excited to have found your videos! I just received my reformer today (the Premier 701) & with your videos I was able to assemble it myself! A million thanks for that! Mine came with 4 black cords, but I already have red & yellow cords ordered. I know already that once I get familiar with what I am doing I want the variety that the cords will allow me. My question is, is there a specific order the colors need to be arranged, for instance if I was doing 2 black, 1 red, 1 yellow? Thank you so very much for your help & for this channel!

Yea!! I am so excited for you! Congratulations on a really great model!
Yes, I think the color cords make the exercising a little more fun because of how they mix up the resistance. I am glad you ordered them.
You can put them on anyway, but, AeroPilates usually places them with the 2 black, cords on the outside (so you would replace the middle cords only). Then, the red cord usually goes on the right middle and the yellow on the left middle. You really can do them however you like though.
Thank you so much for commenting! I am so glad the videos have been helpful.

Just found your channel. Thanks for such clear instructions. I've been using my sister-in-law's aeropilates machine but would like to purchase one for my husband and me to use. He's 6' 1" and I'm 5' 4''. I'm not sure what machine would work for both of us. Would you have any suggestions? Thank you.

Hello there! It is so great to hear from you! Thank you for taking the time to comment. :)
I love that you are sharing a machine with your sister-in-law right now. That is the perfect way to try it out before you buy, and I truly believe you will love having one in your own home.
These machines can be quite the investment for sure, but I believe they are worth it because the benefit of having one largely outweighs the cost. With that being said, if it is in your budget, I would highly recommend the 5 cord (I'll post links of the choices below) OR the larger 4 cord premier models. Between these two styles, you can pretty much go with whatever your favorite color (available) is.
For a bit, I had a smaller model and I did have my husband use it once. He is almost 6'. He was able to use it properly, but he felt a little squished on it. The models I mentioned above have 2 more inches on the carriage for your torso, so they will work really well for your husband. Also, because you are taller than 5' 2", your height will work well with those models without any modification. It is for gals 5' 2" and under that I recommend the smaller models to.
I am so excited for you to have an AeroPilates of your own!! Congratulations!! Below are the links to consider.

Of course, it is not about size, but we short gals have to stick together and encourage each other, and I believe in this machine and what it can do for you. I can't wait until you have used it consistently for a couple of weeks...then you will think back to the times when your body ached, and maybe even felt sluggish, and it will be in the past. The pain kind of sneaks away and one day your realize when you get out of bed, you feel like a new woman. That is my hope for you. And that is why LOVE the AeroPilates SO much!

Hello, I just saw this channel as I was searching for information on details regarding the meaning of "interchangeable" cords; and, what it means to have a 3 cords reformer (I think its a 266 model) versus a 4 or 5. More specifically, is it worth it to even purchase a 3 cord reformer to make it worth my while. I have researched a little and I lean toward the 4-cord reformer, but I am interested now because I found a 3 cord reformer with a stander. I would love to work on a reformer with a stander. The 4 & 5 cord reformers would require me to buy a stander - adding an additional $150 bucks. You may have a video discussing the difference between these 3 different types of cord-reformers and I haven't seen it. I will keep looking, but would appreciate any assistance prior to my equipment purchase. (you/your videos are great - I look forward to continued watching:)

    • @everythingaeropilates
      @everythingaeropilates  3 года назад +1

Hello! I will link 2 videos below that explain the differences between the machines. The 3 cord is great, but if you can do a 4 cord, you will never feel the need to upgrade. Many gals use a 3 cord and never want for anything, but some gals do feel the need to upgrade later for a few reasons. If you watch the 2nd video, it goes over some of the things to consider about a 3 cord. The first video talks a bit about the differences between the options.
I wanted to let you know that there are usually local sales of the AeroPilates and you can get some amazing deals that way. You can check CL or FB marketplace to see who has one for sale in your area. What's good about that is that you can look the machine over before getting it home.
Please let me know if you have any other questions after the videos and I will be more than happy to answer.

Yes! You do have options. My first choice would be to tighten your existing black cords. You do this with the machine folded up and with a 2nd person is easiest. If you don't have help, you can use locking pliers or an extremely strong cilp (just be careful). I have a video "how-to" here.
