Hi! I've had my AeroPilates machine since 2012 and have never cleaned it until tonight after I watched this video. I haven't used it in a while and got re-inspired after finding your channel and wonderful videos! You are a joy to watch and your explanations and directions are clear and encouraging! Thank you so much! I'm catching up with your channel, but still please make more videos! Take care! Hugs!
Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging comments!! I am SO happy that you are using your aeropilates again!! It is such an amazing machine. I feel like a different woman since I began using it, and I hope the same for you, now that you are re-inspired! You are the first to ask me to please make more videos, which is so sweet. I have filmed a new workout and am editing it (editing takes longer than the filming sometimes), but it should be loaded this week. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and I am thrilled that you are using your machine again!! :)
I am so glad this was helpful! The maintenance can seem like a bit of a pain, but it is definitely worth it in the end. Keep enjoying your AeroPilates! :)
I saw this blue one on ebay but decided to go with the anniversary model because of the wider cushion, but that blue is so pretty on camera!! My reformer is on it’s way. So excited
Congratulations!! The Anniversary model is my all-time favorite. You will love it! On the white frame, it is so cheerful. I chose this machine for the maintenance because it gets so dusty with that black frame. I actually like the Anniversary model blue the best of all. I have seen 4 different blue models (all slightly different shades) and it is my favorite. If you love this one, you will love the one you just got. You made a great choice! I am so excited for you!!
So...this past weekend I needed to move my Aeropilates machine to another area in my guest bedroom. That meant taking if off my stand first...and that's when the carriage started to come off of the rails as I began awkwardly lifting it (I have arthritis). OMG I said. What is happening???!!!! Did I break it? How do I get the carriage back in place? I told my myself, don't panic, don't panic. And then you came into my head and I remembered that I had watched this video where you took the carriage off! So I get my phone and look up the video. After seeing how you took the carriage off, I began folding up my machine and within two seconds, voila! Wheels fell back into the rails without me having to do anything more! Didn't think it would be that easy! Problem solved and all is good!!!! Thank you again!
Thank you so much for commenting! I love hearing from you. It actually is pretty hard to get off the stand, so I am impressed! I am glad you were able to get it. I have tried a few ways, but it is always a little awkward alone. Great job! If you have arthritis, I am so happy that you have this machine. The reward for moving the machine around is the great stretch you can get from it after it is in its new place. Hope it felt amazing to stretch out afterward. I am so glad to hear that you didn't panic and found the video. That makes me so happy! That is one reason I really wanted to make this channel. The AeroPilates has been so amazing in my life and I wanted others to know that their machine is not ruined when certain things happen. Keep enjoying your machine and thanks for commenting, it means a lot to me! :)
Great video! Ok, confession: I have never done any cleaning on my Aeropilates machine! Yikes! And I have had my machine for several years! But I am now going to follow your maintenance instructions. Thank you!
Haha! Hey, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" works here too. I do recommend oiling the rails. You will love how smoothly it rolls afterward. The main reason I did this video is that I read some reviews about squeaky machines, or ones that don't roll as smoothly as they did at first, and the owners thought the machine was ruined because of that. It really isn't! As you know, these last for years and years!
Thank you so much for this video....I had already watched this & have been cleaning & dusting my machine off & wiping the inside of the rails off daily after using it. I’ve only had it a little over a week....but I was ALREADY having some squeaking. So tonight I took the carriage off & inspected the wheels (I didn’t go so far as to take the wheels off, but wiped them off really well), & went ahead & lightly oiled the rails. I did just a quick little check afterwards & it seemed like the squeak was fixed. So I guess sometimes the squeaks happen early on, lol! But I wouldn’t have known how to fix it without your help, so thx again for all you do!! 😊
That is a great point! The squeak can start early on! It was a good idea to wipe the rails and wheels right away. I am so glad that the squeak was fixed. Congrats again on your aeropilates! I hope that you are loving it!! :)
@@everythingaeropilates Any ideas for a squeaky pulley, lol? One of mine squeaks when it’s at a certain angle & the cord/strap is being pulled....but I don’t want to use anything on it that may damage the fibers in the straps in any way. Have you come across this? Oh & I am loving my machine otherwise! 😊❤️
@@countrygalreads A squeaky pulley, oh no. Well, there are 2 things I would try. I would first check and make sure the screw is tightened down on the pulley. I had one squeak and then the screw popped right off. It was a brand new machine (no refurbished) so I was surprised, but I just screwed it back together. If it is loose, you will have to hold the nut in place with a wrench and then tighten the screw with the phillips screwdriver. If the screw is tight, I would recommend a gentle oil, such as avocado oil, to "grease" the metal parts of the pulley. If you have a natural kitchen oil, that should work well. Let me know how it goes. :)
@@everythingaeropilates So I checked & it did not seem like anything was loose. All I had on hand was olive oil, so I used a little of that all over the pulley (went ahead & did both since I was doing it). I’ve already worked out for today, but tomorrow I will see if the squeak is gone. Hopefully this will work. Thanks so much! 😊 Still squeaky....so my hubby gave me some lubricant to try on it. Hopefully that will work! 😊
@@countrygalreads Husbands can be so helpful! How did the lubricant work? If there is still a problem, you can contact Stamina Products, tell them what is going on, and ask for a replacement.
Thank you so much for creating this maintenance video. What I specifically needed help with was the wheels. My machine had become noisy again so I was about to lube the pulleys with silicone lubricant. Your tip regarding the coconut oil was exactly what my wheels needed & the "squealing hog" went away. Have you ever done a video on changing out the cords and the 'platic washers' that good them in place to an extent? I had to do that recently.
Maintenance on these machines is funny, some people don't do any for years and years and their machines are fine...may have to do with our yards or weather or such. I am glad that your machine is running smoothly again. The squealing can definitely interfere with the calming affect of the AeroPilates. :) I have done a video on changing cords, but need to do an updated one. It is work to change them and now, I make my sons help if I need to do so. I am glad that you got yours changed and your wheels lubed. Keep enjoying your AeroPilates. :)
I apologize for the late response. The wheels can be purchased on the stamina products website. You can call if you prefer, but here is the link. Please let me know if you have any other questions. staminaproducts.com/product/aeropilates-platform-roller-kit/
Thank you for a great, detailed video. Is silicone oil appropriate or will it degrade those carriage wheels and straps? Thanks again and have a splendid new year!
Happy New Year to you and yours too! Thank you for the encouraging comment. As far as I can tell, the silicon oil should work very well on the machine. Many gals love it. Enjoy your AeroPialtes!
I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. If you are talking about the part that I am thinking about, you would call the customer service # and ask for the correct part number. Let me clarify which part you are needing...is it the long, thin, curve piece of plastic that helps hold the rebounder open? If so, the phone # is 1 (800) 375-7520, and the part number you need is "#57 Mounting Cover". You can just tell the customer service line that you need a replacement part for your AeroPilates. Then reference the model # and Serial # (on a small black sticker underneath the bed of the machine). They will ask which part you need, and if it is the one I mentioned, you can tell them. If it is a different part, please write back and I will check regularly. I hope you are able to get it replaced soon. Do remember that you can rebound off of your toe-bar, just be a bit more careful. It is not as good as a rebounder, but it works in a pinch. Please let me know if you have any questions. :)
There is a slight bump where the wheels go over the break in the rails where they fold up for storage.. Is there any way to minimize this? Duct tape? Different size wheels? I don’t fold my machine up by the way.
This is a great question! I have never thought about this but you are right, there must be something that can help it. I haven't tried anything yet, but let me try a few things and get back to you. And if you find a great solution, we would love to hear! :)
Hi, I recently purchased a set of wheels from Stamina and watched the video on how to install them, and noticed the spacer is placed on the outer part of the wheel after the bolt, which is the opposite of how I see it in your video. What is the purpose of the spacer anyway? Thank you for your very informative video!
You will love having your new wheels! They will glide like they did when you first got the machine-I am so excited for you. About installation...the easy way to tell is to take a photo before you remove the old wheels, and then put them back in the same order as the photo. The video you watched was actually wrong...unfortunately. I have had many machines, including the first ever, and every machine has the spacer on the inside. The spacer makes sure that the wheels stay moving and that they align correctly on the track. But, don't worry about which video is correct, just put your spacer exactly where it is when you take the old wheels off and you will be good! Thank you so much for your comment! :)
@@everythingaeropilates you so much for your reply. I had placed the spacers on the outer part of the wheel and the carriage does make a strange noise. I will follow your advice. Thank you!
