Hi everyone, I had same problem on my 2010 portfolio.this is a good fix but I found if you put the roof to the tilt position, loosen the two screws centre and rear, close roof and it will find it’s own position without any downward pressure from outside. Open to tilt position again and gently re-tighten screws. No more rattles or creaks for me. Good luck everyone 👍
The times I've searched the jaguar forums regarding this popping creaking pan roof and to no avail.. my local jaguar dealer quoted £440 to fix the rattle.. after only now coming across your video I'm filled with hope to once and for all stopping this annoying noise from the glass roof... i shall try this myself this weekend and fingers crossed it works for me.. thank you for posting..
I have a rattle in my XJ and it sounds like it's coming from the rear near side passenger area. I asked my Jag specialist to diagnose it and they said it was the sunroof. That surprised me given the location the noise appears to eminate from. They charge 2 hours labour to recentre the glass, something you've just done in 5 minutes. If that doesn't work they said the next step was to strip the whole thing out and replace some nylon seating washers that apparently wear out. That's a £7-900 bill. But the chap did say that it was hit and miss as to whether that would work.

It does work, but it comes loose again
