No. It shows a lack of cultural sensitivity and stems from the same mindset that leads to colonialism, slavery and intersectional violence. We need to implement a zero-tolerance policy for this kind of bigotry. If you disagree you're part of the problem.

Only going to make one correction-pretty sure it’s “Immortal *Omnisexual* dude”-I’m pretty sure Jack is up for *anything* sentient in a way that would make even Capt. Kirk blush.
Yeah its almost as if the sex and sexuality of the characters isnt the thing people have an issue with. It's funny how you can prove the claim "they just racist" wrong yourself without realizing it.

It seems like Scots give the Doctor an edge the others can't replicate. 7th and 12th have these edges that you don't know what to expect from them. I think Gotwa is going to be a really good Doctor.
Well honorary Scot, but still Ncuti has an utterly amazing backstory that I can't help admire. He survived the Rwandan genocide, got taken in by Scotland and the rest is history. I think he's going to be in the word of the 9th doctor.... fantastic!
@@themadoneplays7842 I think he's going to be amazing. He's definitely delightful to watch. I knew Tennant is Scottish but he's pretty tame compared McCoy and Capaldi. Those two had these darkish undercurrents to their performances.
I do not understand how a racist can watch Doctor Who. Lead character is an alien who advocates love and respect of life in all its forms. Surely these people should hate Doctor Who in theory???
That must be why I see the same people complaining about Doctor Who and Star Trek (especially newer Trek), saying they are "woke."Both shows discuss treating others fairly, without racism, sexism, and class differences. Why would someone who is racist, sexist or hateful in general watch either show? Is it just to complain?
A bit odd for the ‘Britain First’ crowd to be going nuts over a foreign-born woke takeover of a show created by a Canadian whose first director was a gay man born in India & whose first show-runner was female. It makes one wonder what show they have been watching all this time... Edit: and then you made the exact same point.
You have (deliberately?) missed the point. Wokery had not been invented in those days. The first director wasn't there because he "was a gay man born in India", the first show runner wasn't there because she was a woman, it was just coincidence. Incidentally, Canadians are not a favoured group under the rules of woke. Have you noticed Canadians stuffed into advertisements or TV shows by the wokists? Neither have I.
It's great to see Ncuti get such a wonderful welcome from the Doctor's. He gets one from me too, looking forward to seeing RTDs next regeneration of Who.
For anyone who has seen Fawlty Towers, is it just me or does Gary from Nerdrotic remind you of that smug child that was featured in an episode who hated the chips he got because they were "the wrong shape"? lol
To a certain two people who were complaining about the Doctor Who episodes bringing educational (Rosa Parks, or that one concerning Yaz’s grandparents, which was definitely political and educational), here’s a news flash from a Gay, black American…. The show’s creator, Sydney Newman, originally crafted the show to be partly educational, hence, the fourth story of the series centering entirely on Marco Polo, as well as shows taking place during the French Revolution, The Aztec era, etc. In fact, the character, James ROBERT “Jamie“ McCrimmon (Fraser Hines) was introduced in the last purely historical Doctor Who story, which was Patrick Troughton‘s second, “The Highlanders.” Fast forward to Peter Capaldi‘s final story, twice upon a time, which partially took place during the Christmas Armistice between English and German soldiers during World War I, something which I didn’t know about until that particular story. Just a little background for those not familiar with the original series format. And, by the way, I liked Jodie Whittaker‘s doctor. It was just the writing by those not familiar with science fiction, as well as that time was child nonsense that brought it down.
Im loving how Mecha is discussing how unfair the media was to Jodie when one of her vids I watched opened with her joyfully sing songing "Doctor Who is losing viewers"
Before or after the fanboy legions were screaming for her head for daring to be a woman I wonder? Call me psychic, but I'm gonna guess AFTER! In which case.. Good for her. Standing up to the spineless anoraks. I've watched all the episode Jodie has been in, and honestly.. I enjoyed them. Skip the victim routine.. Nobody cares. 99% of the people who watch the show care nothing about the sacred "cannon". Its a children's scifi/fantasy series. Deal with it.
@@rodneymarsden3003 yeah I agree, I just sat down for her run, and now I have the name chibnall burned into my mind. Her individually is always the best part but then the episode is so mundane. I’m watching season 13 and now I feel like I’m finally getting more of her doctor. But yeah scuffed
At no point did Nerdrotic say "black people should not be on TV" that's just a narrative that this creepy weirdo wants to create. Sure, I'm laughing at all the ignorant racists along with everyone else but I'm also laughing at reactionary clowns like this using misinformation to further his leftist agenda. The accusations he is making are just simply not true. And if you confront him on the matter he does nothing but shift goal posts. MrTardis is a weird politically motivated creep.
I'm for sure excited. He has *that* energy - the "I want to see what he's doing" - same way Pertwee, Tom Baker had. Couple that with good stories? Epic.
Same here. I saw him and he looked like a cool looking guy. Ok, fine. But then I saw his interview, a photo smirking, and a clip from his show and I was like "Ok, this dude has that special something that takes to be The Doctor." You not only have to be a good act but you got to feel you're coming from another planet.
32:50 Of course RTD never did anything political in Doctor Who. Midnight obviously isn't about people fearing the "not like me group". He also never brought in the Ood of course, they weren't an allegory for slavery at all. Oh! New Earth and Gridlock weren't hidden with a message about pollution either. I mean...
To paraphrase something I said back when The Timeless Child twist happened: My problem story wise with saying there were many Doctors before Hartnell is that it creates more story plot holes then it resolves, but it also negates the significance of Whittaker being the 1st female Doctor since Jo Martin's Fugitive Doctor came before Whittaker, and now the same is true about how Gatwa is technically within the show not gonna be the 1st Person Of Color to be The Doctor.
That's a fair point. I think you've gotta separate the in-canon universe Doctors with who we, as viewers, consider to be "The Doctor". To us, there are still 13, soon to be 14 Doctors. Jodie is still the first female Doctor and Ncuti will be the first black Doctor. Even though, to characters existing in the show, none of that is true. It's still important for the audience to recognise that and going back and adding incarnations won't change any of that.
Did you forget in AUC, Barbara calls the Doctor “Doctor Foreman” and he replies “Doctor Who?” so the character only took the name on from then on. The Doctor wasn’t given that name by their parents, but by a random person who they kidnapped.
I'm pretty sure that going forward writers will just ignore this, like the "The Doctor is half human". They're silly ideas, but we can always just pretend they never happened. This show has never had solid canon.
@@PlatinumAltaria not even regeneration was always the same. the original implication was that the TARDIS renewed the Doctor's body. It wasn't until The War Games that we learned about the Time Lords and how regeneration worked.
Correction: Jo Martin was the first black Doctor Who. I'll watched since I was a kid. (This was one of my grandmother's favorite shows.) Everytime they change the actor I think I'm gonna hate it, but then I love them. I just absolutely love the show.
3:57 lots of people like to know who would love to know who on the shortlist for any doctors. If you read Philip seagulls book regeneration about the TV movie, there's a list of actors who was considered and audition for the part of the 8 doctor. Fun fact John Hurt and Peter Capaldi on that list.

Hmm. Imagine NOT having a chance at the role because of the amount or melanin in your skin, or your gender? Dr Who is perhaps the only character that could be played by absolutely any actor. Honestly being British is my only requirement to portray the Doctor and I’m kind of half kidding with even that, just given to the point that A) What even is British? B) We’re very much running out of actors at this point. Whatever, this doesn’t even apply here because Gatwa lives in the UK, has UK citizenship, and is Rwandan-Scottish, so in my book, he is British. So therefore, we have all of my criterias for casting 1) Exists 2) Is Actor (and probably good, I’ve heard good things about Sex Education) 3) Is British
The Master and the Doctor should be written as mirror images of each other. Makes them both more dynamic and who is the cruel? The Master or the Doctor? Who is more evil!
About that bowelstrek tweet, I find it hilarious that he's already changing his stance. For the past five years he's been whinging about how "Chibnall RUINED the show" but now it's "Chibnall TRIED to ruin the show but actually it's Davies who's RUINED the show". Like, casting a woman as the Doctor was the worst thing to happen to the show .... then the Timeless Child was the worst thing to happen to it.... but no, actually a black Doctor is REALLY the worst thing to happen to it. I knew that as soon as a new showrunner came along that the Nazi brigade would change their story to fit whoever's running the show now, I just didn't expect it to happen so soon.
I remember when people said that Moffat killed the show. Now they're praising the good old days when the Doctor was the Hybrid and his companion was a gay black woman. I can't wait for that asshole to crash and burn once somebody digs up all his receipts, and he'll lose whatever tiny sliver of credibility he had left.
Here's a good response to that, even if it might hurt you saying it but it's a good one to blow their brains. Say the same thing about Capaldi and them wanting to cast an older doctor and he stole it from a younger actor.
It's actually the other way round RTD has stated that they had there doctor who basically decided on and the Ncuti came in as the last audition and was better than everyone else

There is literally zero reason why the Doctor would have to be white. None at all. Why can’t people just wait to see how he takes to the role and then decide on how he handles the character. The doctor is an alien so it does not matter what gender or race (according to earth races) he is. Seems to me these people who get angry about an actor being a certain race or gender have way too much time on their hands.

'The Grumpy Old Fan's' video really annoyed me, because of one simple fact. It's not Grumpy's fault specifically but it did do my nut in. RUclips gave my channel a strike, back in 2020 for 'Hate speech' because I made fun of a homophobe, who uploaded pictures of himself... loving his dog a little too much, I'll say to be diplomatic. My channel had a perminant strike, for making fun of that guy and every homophobic thing he said, I got acredited to me and my channel was struck forever for it. Then I look at this guy's channel and apparently RUclips sees nothing wrong with it. I don't advocate that anything should happen to his channel, I'd rather he should be allowed to humiliate himself on the daily but I don't get where the consistency is with RUclips's moderation, where he's in the green and I'm having to do an exam, where I'm having to do a test on racism. It baffles the hell out of me. If my silly video, making fun of a homophobe who went down and dirty on his wee doggy (with self uploaded pictures mind) is too much for the platform, then surely the labels he gave to Ncuti ALONE should be equal, if not worse? I'm glad content creators like Mr Tardis hold these people to some sort of standard and to some sort of account.

You know the whole box ticking argument conservatives like to peddle, everything in the entertainment industry (or more to the point anything) ticks boxes in order to appeal to a mass audience, it's been going on for decades, it's not ground breaking stuff. The fact minorities are finally getting a box which can be ticked is incredible progress and it shows how the world is changing for the better. I'm of the view point that, unless it's propaganda, what the entertainment industry does is a reflection of the human condition (the positive and negative side), this is why the claim "media causes violence" doesn't hold up at all. Also box ticking of the past used to promote conservative values and media that promoted liberal values were seen as revolutionary, now mainstream liberal values are common place, but of course conservatives don't want to admit the shit they like used to tick boxes and think box ticking is a new phenomena. On Ncuti Gatwa being cast, people have already made there mind up on him (he's only had a few seconds as the Doctor, how do you know he's crap?). If it turns out he can't act his way out of a paper bag (given he's already an established actor and had a great audition that's highly doubtful) or the scripts suck then fair enough but his first season hasn't even dropped yet, who knows, he might be the best Doctor since Troughton.
Only thing I’m disappointed in is that I wanted another female doctor before we went back to male Not mad tho I’m looking forward to Gotwa as The Doctor
Remember that episode of 'South Park', where Jimbo was defending a rather politically incorrect piece of South Park's history? Then, when the KKK members started supporting his cause, he told them "Hey now, we don't want your support. We're not racist, this is about history." Now, if Nerdrotic and all these other rotten guttersnipes had the KKK supporting their videos, I'll bet they'd see it and be like "Oh sweet, more suck..... I...I mean supporters."
from what i've seen from the people you've showcased, i wonder if any of them would go along with Mike in Remembrance of the Daleks with him saying something along the lines of "sometimes you've got to protect your own" and as shown in Rosa, hen we think these people are gone, racists never leave. and so far a few episodes into Ncuti's run i like him as the Doctor, he has an energy and spark he brings much like Jodie did
'someone who is so aggressively stupid i think talking about them is a form of ableism'... bro???? Are you literally calling people disabled??!?!? What the actual hell
Regarding pronunciation: the amount of fans who still pronounce Troughton as "truffton" is astonishing. Broadcasters still sometimes call Pertwee Per-TWEE with the emphasis on the wrong syllable, and as to William Hartnell - his grandaughter prounounces it distinctly with the "nell" very clear like "knell" to rhyme with "bell" but loads of people seem to think he's Hartnall or Hartnoll. As to Peter DaviDson... and EcclestonE...
I think it's worth separating people anxious about the future direction of the show from those who a genuinely just racist. For example in Orphan 55 the Doctor says: "It's one timeline. You want me to tell you that earth’s gonna be ok. I can’t. In your time, humanity is busy arguing over the washing up whilst the house burns down. Unless people face facts and change. Catastrophe is coming. But it’s not decided. You know that. (Beat) The future is not fixed. It depends on billions of decisions and actions and people stepping up. (Beat) Humans. I think you forget how powerful you are. Lives change worlds. People can save planets or wreck them. That’s the choice. Be the best of humanity. Or --" Yet the same Doctor when told by Graham he had cancer said "I should say a reasuring thing now shouldn't I, I'm still quite socially awkward So I'm just going to subtly walk towards the console" This is what has damaged Doctor Who and why everyone is so anxious about what the future may hold. When you make a political point as in the first quote you have to back it up and make people care about the point your making. The context of the quote didn't as it felt like a lecture. The 13th Doctor also didn't have a likeable personality as shown by the second quote. So imagine someone you don't like telling you "you need to lose weight" for example. You're less likely to listen to that advice than you are from someone you do like you may even see it as an attack. You may even go the other way rejecting the advice and eating what you want. The same phycology applies to any other behavioural advice or suggestions including racism. People have associated the current iteration of Doctor Who with the entire BBC or even the entire political climate of the world. Creating an us and them scenario. So when they hear the future doctor talking about "Diversity and Inclusion" they associate the out of character talking with the lecturing that is happening in Orphan 55. They make the physical comparisons of skin colour or gender and then associate that with the same potential for political attack and poor scripts that people felt happened in the Chibnall era. Hence the defensiveness. However there is a difference between outrightly disassociating and even hating on people who are different from yourself out of fear and people who believe that there is too much political messaging in Doctor who for it to be enjoyable. The genuine concern is that when the doctor travels to for example the South America in the 1800's or in fact most places on earth in the past except maybe Africa that the story will have to revolve around race. They're concerned that every past earth story will be a lecture about slavery and racism. There's is also a concern from the other side that it will be ignored completely. We've seen people like David Lammy to Julia Hartley Brewer commenting on this casting. Proving that politics has been put at the centre of the show inadvertently or not. The concern is dividing fans politically reduces fans and reducing fans gets it less ratings and cancels the show. Most genuine fans are just hoping the writing and acting are good enough to maintain an audience to keep Doctor Who going for longer.
It's very sad you'd think by now by this day and age and in the 21st century we'd be over all this bigotry this racism and sexism and expect black people as people I'm very sad to see this is still on going well I certainly didn't mind Jodie and I'm excited for Ncuti and it was long overdue for a black actor to take on the role I'm also hard hoping Idris Elba becomes the next James Bond.

There is nothing wrong with mispronouncing someone’s name, especially when it is derived from a language foreign to your own, different thing entirely if you purposefully mispronounce the name in a derogatory way

No. It shows a lack of cultural sensitivity and stems from the same mindset that leads to colonialism, slavery and intersectional violence. We need to implement a zero-tolerance policy for this kind of bigotry. If you disagree you're part of the problem.

Holy crap, until the reply to Sylvester McCoy, I did not know he was Scottish! That is awesome, and hopefully it’s just as good as previous Scots!

In fact, the character, James ROBERT “Jamie“ McCrimmon (Fraser Hines) was introduced in the last purely historical Doctor Who story, which was Patrick Troughton‘s second, “The Highlanders.”
Fast forward to Peter Capaldi‘s final story, twice upon a time, which partially took place during the Christmas Armistice between English and German soldiers during World War I, something which I didn’t know about until that particular story.

Of course RTD never did anything political in Doctor Who.
Ummm you do know that the doctor wasn't known as the doctor their entire life?

I swear Doctor Who must be real because these people time travelled from the 1800s
exactly 👍
I do want to thank you for existing. I used to be a fan of the people who would make these videos, because I literally had no social experience or any idea what was going on in the outside world, because I was only 20 years old, relatively sheltered, and trying to construct an adult life during the pandemic. It's funny to think back on now.
29:03 I have no idea what Colonel Mustard here is prattling about. Just because HE didn't see them doesn't mean they don't visit. Does he have any empirical data to back up his point? Citations? Data from tourism/heritage groups connected to Stonehenge?
And even if they do: okay, what's the issue? Most of the stuff in our Museums doesn't belong to native Brits (Ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, Assyria, Maya etc), but we can look at it, so why not the other way around?
Sadly it’s not just Dr who it’s everywhere now, people complaining everything is “too woke” aka not everyone is straight white and male. The trek fandom is really bad with it now. These people honestly think they are being marginalised but it’s insane. I could not care less about the colour of an actor’s skin just about how well they can act. You can imagine what some “fans” are says because they cast a trans actor!
the only time a character casting went "too woke" was making ann bolyn black.
So true , and so annoying...🙄🙄🖖
all these people keep using the same excuse about box ticking and replacement when that couldn't be further from the truth
Ncuti sure looks like he's going to be a brilliant Doctor !!! Do we know which candidates were also up for the role, there is a good chance that the runner up could be in the Tardis in 3 or 4 years
Hey remember when these same people where hailing RTD as this great showrunner who oversaw a golden age of the show?
Oh my they did a 180 on that!
from what i understand rtd 2 will be hyper political particularly where gays are concerned, for that reason we criticize. all we want from dr who is to be entertained not being preached at, with rtd 2 we are going to get preached at on all the ills of society in the entire run of gatwa and beyond.
@@joeespin4377 Doctor Who has always been political. What do you mean preachy can you give examples?
Because if it is just LGBT people existing as characters thats not preaching that's on you mate. Most things orientated around sci-fi and/or fantasy tend to be political.
@@joeespin4377 Doctor Who has always been progressive and political. The whole NuWho is revived by someone who literally produced "Queer as Folk". Pretty sure you've been watching the wrong show your whole life.
@@samic true, but should not a show runner and then writer, if they are at all professional) know that m any in the audience will most likely not be part of the choir that they are preaching to so they may have dial back the rhetoric and concentrate on writing stories that are entertaining first and political maybe third or forth
@@joeespin4377 But which part is the preachy you're referring about? Do you have a TARDIS and came back from 2024 telling me that the RTD2's Who is full of preachings?
Anyone who has a love for the Doctor and truly understands the Doctor, knows that the Doctor can be any color or gender or whatever the Doctor wants to be and as fans we will watch the show as long as the storyline is good.
So how come from 1966-2017 the doctor was a white male actor? It’s only because of social justice warriors and the bbc being politically inept that he became a female. And you know what happened… the show lost ratings and not because the doctor was a girl but because people could see how political the show was becoming. And I have nothing against ncuti I actually think he could be a good doctor. But did you really think that the doctor was going to be a white male. I didn’t because white males playing lead roles in film and tv is bad.
@@oscarknowles7526
tell me what you haven't seen doctor who without saying you haven't seen doctor who

@@oscarknowles7526 … because entertainment isn’t allowed to discuss, mention, cover, or be based on important and/or meaningful topics? What is left then? Most people only complain about things being “too political” when it’s something that they don’t agree with.

Why does the bbc and other channels go out of their way to shove as much political and historical factors down our throats. I want to watch doctor who to enjoy it. Not be get given a history lesson in Rosa parks for example. All I’m saying is that doctor who has been ruined by the bbc and political factors surrounding it and you can choose to ignore it that’s completely fine but I’m entitled to my opinion so deal with it
37:41 Does she just assume that all British LGBT shows are written by Russell T. Davies.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one to pronounce Ncuti's name wrong. I felt like a total idiot when I found out I was saying his name wrong.
My first attempt at pronouncing it was "Cutie."
As long as the writing + directing is better I think he’ll be great!
Did all these people forget about how much we all loved Captain Jack, AN OPEN BI CHARACTER?
When they liked openly bi and black characters in the past but dont like new ones. Its almost as if the bi or black parts arent actually the problem
Trust me, people were just as mad about Jack Harkness back in the day. Anti-woke people have been doing the same song and dance for years. Just wait, in a couple years these same people will be reminiscing about the good old days with Chibnall.
This is ridiculous. First it was the drama with jodie when she was announced to be the first female doctor, Now we got drama with Ncuti. Can't we all just agree that his gonna be a good doctor after jodie leaves the show.
We cant agree about something we haven't seen and dont know yet.
@@redbearington3345 Fair point
Probably I mean, we've never had a bad doctor and probably never will only bad Writing and we got a mostly decent if of it preachy writer
Never gonna let him live down. The man who never wouldn't nonsense dear rtd
We need to call out racism/sexism, etc etc whenever/wherever we see it!! All the Best to our New Doctor and Companion!
The main character of Doctor Who is literally not human. They're literally the ultimate immigrant and they're the hero of the story. How you can be xenophobic/racist is beyond me...
I would be happy to pass away if I were bowlestrek’s dog
Mate Nerdrotic has never said anyhring about the colour of Ncutis skin, at least that I've heard, he's just generally anti-bbc and doesn't think the show will recover
Hi. Just watching your channel for the first time. I'm not gonna get into everything I've heard but I would just like to say that we all belong to the same race..... the HUMAN RACE and who you love is a personal thing and nothing to do with anyone else. I think he'll be great
The people mocking Ncuti for his name are most likely the same people who make up ridiculous spellings of common names to make them ‘unique’, but just make it impossible for anyone to read them. Or the same people who praise Elon Musk for naming his son X Æ A-Xii!
Ridiculous spellings of common names are one of my pet hates! I mean, what's so clever about taking a proper word like Jordan and spelling it Jordon or Jordyn?
13:50 is such a strange point. Literally every positive statement about Ncuti Gatwa I've seen has been about his acting talent or his performance in the audition. So, she's saying "why can't it be about if he is a good actor?", when literally everyone is talking about how good an actor he is.
I think I commented too early because that interview just got worse and worse.
There is literally zero reason why the Doctor would have to be white. None at all. Taking issue with the Doctor not being white makes *far less* sense than taking issue with the Doctor not being a man, and the hatedom that formed around the idea of the Doctor not being a man was already utterly absurd.
I am just left with the same thought I had when Capaldi or Whitaker were announced: "I don't know this actor but they've yet to cast a bad actor to play the Doctor so I'm sure they'll do fine." (I seem to recall Capaldi was actually a popular choice before he was announced, but *I* had not seen any of the stuff he was in.)
You have a new subscriber, but you are lucky. I was just about to click the 'Stop showing me this channel' button when I saw that History Debunked muppet's face again on my recommended videos right beside Nerdroitics. Thing is these people just stoke and feed of outrage and bigotry, pandering to an audience who I'd say most of them never watched an episode of Doctor Who in their lives.
Luckily I realised that you were calling themout, and not joining in. Good video
Never liked nerdrotic at all
I don't care about his colour, all I care about is that he is British and does a proper job.
He is British.
Oh my god, the poor guy is being exposed to Mecharandom, I'm so sorry for you bro. But what to expect from the woman who said all those VILE things about Zack Snyder's daughter.
I agree with what some people are saying that people shouldn't be cast on identity politics, or trying to hit equality quotas. But, that clearly isn't the case? I think people are too keen to shut people down assuming that there is some weird political reasoning behind casting, even though press runs have subtly mentioned otherwise.
And also, Ncuti isn't even the first black Doctor: Jo Martin is. So I don't know why these Fox News rejects are so hung up on Ncuti.
I appreciate the time you take to call out these people. We can’t just leave them in their bubble spreading hate. They’re too used to being unchallenged. Keep it up.
I don't see why not being able to pronounce his name should disqualify him. I had trouble as well, but you know what I did, I looked it up and learnt, because that is the respectful thing to do. I have full confidence Ncuti will make a great Doctor.
I couldn’t even care less about what the NMDs have to say at this point. Just seeing those videos and comments from the past doctors welcoming Ncuti into the role just warms my heart
Why can’t people just wait to see how he takes to the role and then decide on how he handles the character.
The doctor is an alien so it does not matter what gender or race (according to earth races) he is.
Seems to me these people who get angry about an actor being a certain race or gender have way too much time on their hands.
They do
Life long fans are very invested in these storys. Woe betide you cross a fandom. We have seen it so many times. If it wasn't paid for by a mandatory tax, they might have to consider the ramifications of their choices
So who actually said “black people must not be on TV”?
Subtext, read between the lines
Oooohh that sppoky subtext.
You know that thing where you go off what you think people mean instead of what they actually mean 😂
If I remember correctly when Dr Who returned his human companion asked why he had a Northern accent, he replied that many planets have a North. It seems many planets have equator and tropics too.
well, yeah that's how planets work
Lol ! 😂 Remember Doctor Who is first & foremost a Modern day family / kids show not a Nostalgia O.A.P fest !
My reaction was that Ncuti looked so young , all the Doctors were old or old looking in a young body (100% Matt Smith & somewhat David Tennant) !
What a difference a pencil moustache made Ncuti look in one of his photos I saw online - Wow ! I wonder if that was just him or one of his roles ?
Haven't seen him act in anything but Sex Ed - if anybody thinks he will clone that role into his new Doctor Who role they will surely be mistaken . All them detractors have just grown old ... Oh well I'm old as well & you can't stop TIME ... Or being Scottish or coming from Rwanda !
saying that "all conservatives" feel that way is quite dangerous, not only is it most likely Incorrect, but it also means that those who dont feel that way are getting lumped in with the ones who do, and may feel they're being attacked for something they've nothing to do with. I mean, in general it's a bad thing to say all, none, always, never and those kind of words when talking about a large group of people
If you've watched this idiot before then you'll see he calls everything racist
maybe not all conservatives take issue with a black doctor but all conservatives, to some degree, enable racism within the country by voting for a party who are actively passing/trying to pass legislation that hurts that community and others.
@@thedragonsunicorn maybe some of us brown conservatives would rather be a community of Britons instead of separate communities....
@@thedragonsunicorn or maybe theres a difference between conservative views and the conservative party ... cant believe i have to explain that.
@@onekie5787 that's my point. someone may hold conservative views, which arguably aren't necessarily racist but so long as they vote for the conservative party, they're still enabling racism.
When even classic who actors accept him as the doctor, but racist fans don't....
So sad...
I mean, being a stooge for Tory government censorship should get bowlestrek' fan card revoked by default (if his audience actually cared).
@@SavageBroadcast DW: Has a lot of episodes focused on accepting different people. And learning to leave together with them.
DW RUclipsrs: EWW BLACK PEOPLE SHOULDN'T PLAY THE DOCTOR!
Like seriously that's the whole point of William Hartnel's "The Daleks" Serial, that's why the Daleks are the bad guys, because they hate everyone simply for being different, Chesterton even describes it as a "Dislike for the Unlike".
And then there's "The Ark" also from the Hartnel era. In which the Monoids who were treated as slaves by the human refugees seeking a new planet eventually turn against those humans and enslave them in the second half of the serial, with said serial literally stating that there will be no future for mankind if they can't make peace with the Monoids.
(And then again even classic Who actors accepts Ncuti as the Doctor, so there's no excuse.)
You're doing God's work, here, my friend. Thank you.
So much anger. Well, I am excited for Ncuti Gatwa as the New Doctor and for David Tennant coming back too. Jodie’s finale is going to be great! This is a great time to be a Whovian!
11:56 I’d also like to congratulate RTD for making Bowlestrek leave the dr who fandom, really good job Russell 😍😍
As a white dude I’d happily take being woked out of the BBC by a woke-trans neo-Marxist writing team if it meant Bowlestrek would shut up for 5 minutes lol
They've turned it into a helicopter - Sylvester McCoy 2013
Also skin color and sexuality and gender is not political it's human rights conservatives make basic rights political
It's ironic they complain that people are to offended these days when the only ones I see getting offended easily are them.
Only thing I’m disappointed in is that I wanted another female doctor before we went back to male
Not mad tho I’m looking forward to Gotwa as The Doctor
Remember that episode of 'South Park', where Jimbo was defending a rather politically incorrect piece of South Park's history? Then, when the KKK members started supporting his cause, he told them "Hey now, we don't want your support. We're not racist, this is about history."
Now, if Nerdrotic and all these other rotten guttersnipes had the KKK supporting their videos, I'll bet they'd see it and be like "Oh sweet, more suck..... I...I mean supporters."
I mean, he did have Alex Jones on stream, so yeah.
Who cares what colour he is, he’s a great actor
*The Fourthteen Doctor* this sentence did not age well. 😂
from what i've seen from the people you've showcased, i wonder if any of them would go along with Mike in Remembrance of the Daleks with him saying something along the lines of "sometimes you've got to protect your own" and as shown in Rosa, hen we think these people are gone, racists never leave. and so far a few episodes into Ncuti's run i like him as the Doctor, he has an energy and spark he brings much like Jodie did
'someone who is so aggressively stupid i think talking about them is a form of ableism'... bro???? Are you literally calling people disabled??!?!? What the actual hell
how do you still have a platform so often saying things like this??
When I first saw the news of Mr Gatwa being confirmed as the next doctor, this was my rection:
Oh, nice can't wait to see him in action.
I mean what century do certain people live in? Seriously.
I think like most Doctor who fans, he watched the Russell T Davies era and probably the first season of Matt Smith
For example in Orphan 55 the Doctor says:
"It's one timeline. You want me to
tell you that earth’s gonna be ok.
I can’t. In your time, humanity is
busy arguing over the washing up
whilst the house burns down.
Unless people face facts and
change. Catastrophe is coming. But
it’s not decided. You know that.
(Beat)
The future is not fixed. It
depends on billions of decisions
and actions and people stepping
up.
(Beat)
Humans. I think you forget how
powerful you are. Lives change
worlds. People can save planets or
wreck them. That’s the choice. Be
the best of humanity. Or --"
Yet the same Doctor when told by Graham he had cancer said
"I should say a reasuring thing now shouldn't I,
I'm still quite socially awkward
So I'm just going to subtly walk towards the console"
This is what has damaged Doctor Who and why everyone is so anxious about what the future may hold.
I agree with your sentiment, but using the worst ever episode doesn't help the point
tldr
It's very sad you'd think by now by this day and age and in the 21st century we'd be over all this bigotry this racism and sexism and expect black people as people I'm very sad to see this is still on going well I certainly didn't mind Jodie and I'm excited for Ncuti and it was long overdue for a black actor to take on the role I'm also hard hoping Idris Elba becomes the next James Bond.
I don’t sorry I’d want Henry carvil I spelt his name wrong, if not some white guy. No a fence I like blacks like lead either other roles I like the new moneypennny. But I’d have Aliba as a main character in his other programs. I think it should have mixed races in programs.
